Democrats need to wake up.  A Senator hasn't been elected President in 47 years and the country is not in just an anti-Bush mood it is in an anti-Washington mood (Senators included).  I've said it before, 4 out of the 5 Presidents were Governors.  Some Democrats may not like Richardson,  but he would have a better shot at winning Florida in a national election or any other red state in the south that Senator Clinton.  The media has been misleading with these popular polls because thats not how we elect our President.  We elect our President state by state.  I think the Democratic activitist posting on the web just thinks only the Northeast votes for the office of President.  Get ready for bad surprise in November 2008.

Wasn't Richardson the governor who just last year was bucking the Bush administration over illegal immigration.  I seem to remember him talking about how the illegals were bankrupting his state and stretching all public resources.  Now he has seemed to change his tune and looking for ways to court the Latino vote; what a shame.  
For someone who hasn't flip-flopped see Ron Paul tonight on Leno.  I think this guy has something for everyone.

It's too bad the average voter in America doesn't know how bad Richardson is.  He is in his second term as Gov. in New Mexico and we rank at the bottom of every important indicator.  We have one of the highest HS drop-out rates, access to prenatal care is virtually non-existant.  The list goes on and on..

If the elections were about experience and not looks or what the media wanted to prop up the 24/7 cable channels the presidential nomiantions would be Biden/Richardson in 2008. They are most experienced, the most qualified and the best chance the dems have in 2008. As a Republican I am glad that the MSM is overlooking the Dems two best candidates. Name a DEM. who has better ideas for American than Biden or Richarson, answer...Dodd. The MSM doesnt want who is best, they want who will make the most stories. Would somebody please tell me what major polls Clinton is winning, and what the questions actually are?  I just voted in a poll for which I was contacted by several candidates as an "important poll", and I can tell you that Clinton was 6th out of 8 with somewhere around 100,000 votes cast, last time I checked.

The media has amazing power to "elect" whomever they want.  Where is any accountability on administering and reporting of the so-called "major polls" that consist of only a few hundred people?

I hope you are aware that the line item veto was declared unconstitutional.  Unfortunately, although the candidates talk about how they would use a line item veto, they seldom talk about the fact that a constitutional amendment would first need to be passed.

Biden/Richardson or Richardson/Biden.  Either way, more (and better) experience with fewer divisive factors.  Maybe that's a team that can re-unite our United States?  I get frustrated that all the news stories are about Clinton and Obama and fundraising.  Let's have more stories about voting histories, and plans for the future.

I am a Richardson supporter 110 percent.  He has done a lot of good for New Mexico as Governor.  A lot of legislation that has been talked about for years and was never passed finnaly passed under Richardson's watch as Governor of New Mexico.  The Railrunner a commuter train in that people can commuter to the suburbs of Albuquerque was talked about for 30 years with Governor Richardson he proposed a bill called GRIP it was a bill to build, expand the roads, highways in New Mexico, the Railrunner was included in the GRIP plan.  Richardson pushed agressively for GRIP to be passed. Legislation to get rid of taxes on groceries in New Mexico finnaly passed under Richardsons watch.  there were talks in past legislative sessions to to get rid of the tax on groceries in New Mexico.  Richardson also got the legislator to pass a tax free holiday in New Mexico. The Tax free holiday is a 3day holiday to buy school supplies tax free.  Arizona and Texas also have tax free holidays.  Governor Richardson has pushed New Mexico with the rest of the country in taxes and good transportation.  Governor Richardson is the best thing that has happened to New MExico.  If Richardson is elected President I think he will push congress to finnaly pass legislation to have the United States have Universal Health Care. I think he will put the United States in par with the European Union and Canada when it comes to social issues. If Richardson gets elected President he will finnally push progressive legislation that has been talked about for years at the federal level. He is a candidate that is that most positive campaign.  He will only attack back when someone attacks him first. Richardson will work and in New Mexico has worked with bothe Democrats and Republicans.  In New Mexico he appointed a Republican Judge in one of the courts. Richardson may be at the bottom in the polls but when Clinton was running for President in 1992 he was at the bottom of the polls and he became the Democratic nominee for President. Richardson will be an alternative to Hillary for Democrats who don't like Hillary. Richardson may be my dream President. If Richardson got elected President he may be a one of the better known Presidents in history like Lincoln, Kennedy, and Franklin Roosevelt.  If Richardson gets elected President he may be the best thing that could happen to the Untited States.

Yes, I am aware of the Line Item Veto Act of 1996 was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.  The case was brought by former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.  NYC won the case and millions of dollars of pork at the tax payer expense.   Governor Richardson's advocacy of the line item veto underscores why we cannot afford Rudy Giuliani or any current members of Congress as President because they ignore the fact that Congress is the broken branch - (Norm Ornstein).   Mr. Giuliani will say he is a tax cutter but his legal actions regarding the Line Item Veto Act of 1996 say much more about his commitment cutting government spending, which is at the heart of the problem of the national deficit.

Another benefit that Richardson would add as the candidate is unlike all these Senators from Northern States he could win Florida's 27 electoral votes.  First, he is Hispanic.  Second, he is a Governor with a middle of the road track record which will play much better in the conservative panhandle of th state.  I don't know how these other candidates plan to win the White House - you don't win it by getting the most votes.  You win the White House by winning states.  In order for the Democrats to win they must turn some of these states in South and West from red to blue.  None of these Northern Senators can do that.  If you don't believe me why don't you visit some red states and check for yourself.
