Edwards wins NH SEIU endorsement

Posted: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 7:22 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan
After weeks of intense lobbying by the top three Democratic presidential candidates, Edwards has come away with the endorsement of the New Hampshire SEIU.

The endorsement will help Edwards considerably, providing him with financial resources and volunteers in the Granite state. It will also prevent other state chapters from sending volunteers to New Hampshire to campaign for either Obama or Clinton.

This is the 12th state SEIU endorsement Edwards has won; the others include Iowa and California.

Way to go Edwards!  WooHoo!
This is great, and huge. I know that Mass. also endorsed him, so they can trek across the border to help out with the election.

What other states are next door with SEIU locals?
As an Obama supporter I congratulate Edwards.
He deserves it.  Edwards has been a long time champion of the unions and understands them well.
he also really needs the lift.  A decent guy getting a bum rap this time around.
Excellent news! John Edwards deserves this important boost. He is *the* pro-labor candidate and truly understands regular working people in this country. He also has the fighting spirit and progressive program that *they* deserve.
Thanks to all the folks who had the courage to buck the money and bet on the substance.  John Edwards has worked harder than anyone other candidate by far to earn this endorsement.  His hard work ethic paid off.

Hard work, sincerity, and integrity in the face of the ugliest political environment of my lifetime have come out on top this time.

This is enough to support our hope that the voters of our country will finally decide to shed their cynicism and choose to believe in our nation again.

Congratulations John Edwards.  You earned it.
diane,

I really appreciate your comment.  It is so rare to see someone willing to give credit to any candidate that is not their own.  I respect Obama, and it wasn't so long ago I was undecided between the two.  I just wish Obama would make his case more effectively.  Its interesting to think about what it would be like if these two forces teamed up somehow, isn't it?
Woot!! and this means Mass SEIU members can come in and help out in neighboring New Hampshire as well.
It's all starting to coalesce now, the excitment is building slowly, keep your heads up dems and work for your candidate, we are the agents of change and we can do this. YEHAH GIDDY UP YOU DAMN DONKEY!!!!!!
Once again, Edwards leads, Hillary and Barack follow.
What is an SEIU?  In a world filled with too many acronyms to keep track of, it would be courteous to spell it out once before abbreviating it as if we all knew.
Edwards has the endorsement of the NH SEIU name.

Barack Obama has the support and votes of SEIU memebers in NH.

Hillary Clinton has nothing.

Haven said that, Congratulations to J. Edwards.
