Obama Backs Down?

Posted: Tuesday, October 30, 2007 9:06 PM by Chuck Todd

From NBC's Chuck Todd
"Some of this stuff gets over-hyped"... That's what Obama said in response to the first question where NBC's Brian Williams asked Obama which issues Sen. Clinton was voting like a Republican. Clearly, he decided to back off the threat of aggression that his interview with the New York Times seemed to indicate. Many reporters will take the "some of this stuff gets over-hyped" line and use it as evidence Obama decided NOT to engage Clinton as aggressively as was promised.

Uh - sounded to me like he just took her on fairly well.

This is a cyclical media thing.  This is pile on Barack month.  Hillary will get hers.  And they'll each have a comeback cycle in the media following those downturns.  It's the way it goes.  Thanks, media!
find it amazing that after telling the press that he was going after Clinton, he repudiates his own words as the first answer.  Clinton, on the other hand, is coming out fighting
yup he backed out!!!

that is why he cannot be president.
Yeah Great ! MSNBC's site seems so overburdened by the traffic that it has stopped serving out the Live Video stream.
Hmmmm..So now I have to follow the debate using Todd and Mark's live blogging ..I'd prefer the candidates' talking heads to these pundits any day ..
Thats what it sounded like to me.
When will Hillary answer a question with something like a straight answer? She brings up Social Security but has no specific plan to solve the problem. Saying "fiscal responsibility" is like saying to get out of debt you need to save money. A plan is needed. She wants to negotiate with Iran but votes for a resolution that takes the first step to another war.
Thats what it sounds like to me.
Obama sounds strong. He is answering questions and showing a clear choice against Clinton. I think Obama Biden would be an unstoppable ticket. It would bring domestic savvy in Obama and policy experience in Biden.
OBAMA Sounds quite weak. Disappointing for sure - I was hoping for more tonight.
Obama seems to be over-hyped to me.
