Richardson on Roswell

Seriously, Richardson, the governor of New Mexico, called on the government to declassify all Roswell documents. He brought it up himself when Chris Matthews was joking about Kucinich's UFO answer. He said the government hasn't "come clean" on the issue. His campaign will surely say he was joking, he has a sense of humor. But even though he was laughing in some parts of that answer, he wasn't joking about THAT.

Matthews looked on in disbelief and joked that this is shaping up to be a contest between the de-evolution party and the pro-UFO party.

I have seen a UFO - as did my entire family and a few friends. Whether or not it was of extraterrestrial origin or not, is another, albeit unanswered, question.

However, I see no reasonto NOT declassify Roswell. If nothing happened, what is there to hide? Whatever is there is PUBLIC property and belongs to the People of the United States. If we want to see it and there are no national security issues, then what's the big deal?

If UFOs are nothing unearthly, then all a cover-up does is fuel the flames.

I'm a skeptic when it comes to the extraterrestrial explaination for UFO/Abduction incidents ... but, the pervasiveness of such incidents (especially Roswell ... the story just does NOT go away), makes it difficult to dismiss the idea entirely ...
Declassify EVERYTHING pertaining to these phenomenon and end the speculation once and for all!

If anything "alien" really happened at Roswell, it will NEVER be declassified, regardless of who is president. Official acknowledgement of alien visits would have such profound inplications for national security, that no responsible government would ever do it, unless forced to by the aliens. Lets take two obvious consequences:
- Foreign powers would demand disclosure of all technical info that the US governemnt knows, and would back up those demands with real serious pressure
- Foreign powers would attempt to make contact and deals with alien powers in order to give themselves an unbeatable advantage over the US. Just imagine if the Islamic people joined a Galactic Empire in order to be able to crush all infidel powers. Analogous the Cardassian Empire joining the Dominion in Star-Trek DS9.

question: how many of you readers fould survive a cold winter for even TWO WEEKS without electricity or gas??? does anyone have enough food to survive for a month without the grocery stores faithfully supplying us with processed and pre-packaged food??? who out there knows how to get clean water if the pipes stopped flowing???
people are so detached from who we truly are that most would shrivel up and die if they were challenged for a week in unfamiliar condidtions...
to me, these are the things that our 'leaders' should be debating...

Do you really believe that the only way we will ever have proof of ET is from the folks at SETI? These guys are looking for "Smoke Signals".

Radio signals only travel the speed of light. So it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that in order to communicate over the vast distances of space one would have to obtain technology greater than current rocket propulsion and electromagnetic radio communication.

As soon as the folks at SETI figure this one out, maybe they can think of the possible ways to look for ET.

I watched hte interview... He specifically said that the did NOT believe in UFOs and said the whole thing should just be de-classified so that the myth would disappear. Matthews was tryign his best to get Richardson to look like a UFO forsome reason and it just did not happen.

It was de-classified. I think in 1995. They revealed that the "flying saucers" were just very large disc microphones that were listening in the upper atmospheric sound channel for detonation of Soviet nukes. When one of the balloons that held the disc microphones aloft crashed the UFO story in the paper served to cover up the fact that the USA had the capability to detect atmospheric nuclear testing and they did not want the USSR to know this, so they let the story stand while not-so-convincingly denying it. What amazes me is that Governer Richardson doesn't know this.

I saw that interview live, and Richardson's point was that people THINK there's some kind of a conspiracy regarding Area 51 and Roswell because there are a lot of documents that have remained restricted, in other words, the government has remained needlessly coy about it. He didn't say he thought there was a government conspiracy, those were Chris Matthews words. Matthews was obviously trying to generate some drama for his little post-debate show. Poor Richardson, trying to get his two minutes of TV coverage in, has to deal with Matthews numbskull questioning about Kucinich's buffoonery.

Speaking from experience here. I was abducted by a UFO and "probed" back in 2002. They backed up all of my life experience on some sort of hard drive as well.

They were very gentle and gave me the gift of super human hearing and a glowing rock.

Reading all the suspicions above about Roswell and UFO's by our citizens says volumes about the mistrust we have for government. It's Holloween and the Dem debate was pretty scary. These candidates fail every measure regarding intelligence (real, artificial or foreign). Now we have a Congress that has not sent a singe major spending bill (of the 12 due today) to the President. So, we have a do nothing Congress and a do nothing media who won't report this laziness. When the Republicans were the majority in Congress, the media had a field day about any late spending bill and constantly labelled them as "do nothings"....well, where is the reporting now?!!?!! Regarding UFO's...if the US did recover anything of technological gain...why would they tell anyone including our enemies? Wouldn't that benefit all Americans?....oh yeah, I forgot....the Democrats don't want America to win.
