Clinton ready for fight

Posted: Wednesday, October 31, 2007 3:14 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Andy Merten and Domenico Montanaro
Keeping with the boxing analogies surrounding last night’s Democratic debate, AFSCME members presented Clinton with a pair of boxing gloves -- as well as their official endorsement -- today in Washington.

Later, asked by NBC News if she felt she was ganged up on in Philadelphia last night, she laughed and said, “Well, I got my boxing gloves. I’m ready; I’ll go 10 rounds.”

The Obama campaign called AFSCME's endorsement of Clinton "no surprise" because of Bill Clinton's relationship with AFSCME President Gerald McEntee, who endorsed Bill in 1992.

See Howard Fineman's piece on the Clinton connection from Oct. 23.

Here's the Obama campaign's statement: “We understand that Gerry McEntee and Bill Clinton have a long and close relationship so the push for a Clinton endorsement is no surprise. It is a bit surprising that the union probably most concerned with state and local election results would support the candidate with the likeliest least appeal in red states. When Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee, he will not only win the presidency but his appeal to Republicans and Independents will lift down ballot candidates all across the country,” said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.  “Illinois AFSCME endorsed Obama in his Senate primary in 2004 and in this campaign we are thrilled by the meaningful support we have from AFSCME members across the country. When he’s in the White House, Obama will strongly advocate for the rights of AFSCME members and working men and women all over the country.”

A demonstration of Why Clinton is a Washington self serving Paper Hanger, two faced and two different opinions within minutes!!  Just like her voting record!! America can not affort another Washington Paper Hanger as the next President????
Forced into a pressure situation and Clinton showed again her two faces. Babbling and stumbling for her stupid answers! A typical Washington self serving paper hanger tripping over her confused dialogue!

She is showing America,  Why she is not qualified! A control freak and one step away from a white jacket with buckles ans straps!!
A large group of us watched the debate and came to the conclusion that Mr Matthews and Mr. Russert, who are both republicans, probably got together before the debate and decided to attack Hillary before during and afterwards, as this was evident to all of us watching. She handled herself quite well considering the cowardly attacks she endured from these two, as well as Howard Fineman. This has made us even more invested in campaigning for Senator Clinton and we will fight back as needed, just as Hillary has said, " I will go the full ten rounds". We love you even more and our group of supporters have grown each day.
Who ever is planning to be the next president of USA, we need him/her to concerntrate more on the domestic issues then spending money on foreign countries. We have plenty of issues at home to struggle with, especially drought across the country, housing recession, growing gas prices, falling dollar value and job losses, social security, health care and illegal immigration.
Louise, you are correct! Hillary is awesome and will be our first democratic female president. Gooooooooooo Hillary.
Just saying...We're ready. Bring it on !!!!!!
Ms Henderson, I will be voting for Senator Clinton for president as well. If John Edwards or Obama get the nomination, they will also get my vote. They all are democrats and all closest share my political views and values.
Do you love the way our country is split right now, red and blue?  Do you love the way nothing positive is getting accomplished in our federal government?  Well, have I got a candidate for you...Hillary Clinton!  Guaranteed to cause more hatred not only among our country, but even just among Democrats, or your money back.

Wow, Hillary supporters must truly love all the tension in our country to want 4 more years of it.  How about supporting candidates that will bring about positive change!

There were too many questions being asked at these debates. Most of these questions by the moderators are down right stupid. Take for example, Tim Russert and Brian Williams asked each candidate to address the current state of education in our country. They were given thirty seconds to address this extremely important subject. After responding in the allotted time, Tim Russert asked the most stupid question in Presidential Debate. The question was to Dennis K., which was "do you believe in UFO?" He spent more than thirty seconds responding to a asinine question. Can these moderators come up with intelligent questions!

These candidates have two hours to debate serious issues facing our country today. Why not focus the debate on four questions. If time permits, then ask other questions. Let's start with four subjects/topics:

1. Economy
2. Terrorism
3. Education
4. Social Security

Each one of these candidates should be given enough time to talk about their respective plans for our country. Americans will then have enough information to make their decision when they are at the voting poll.

One cannot made decisions based on thirty second responses.

students at UNF;Go back to school[and get an actual education this time]. Matthews is a self-described Democrat, serving for both Jimmy Carter as speechwriter and House Majority leader,Democrat Rep. ''Tip''O'Neill[Mass]. Russert is another Democrat having worked as chief of staff to Democrat senator Pat Moynahan[NY] and later working for Democrat governor Mario Cuomo[NY]. Hillary screwed up. Even a Chinese fortune cookie could have told you this if a New Yawk Chinatown dishwasher making eight grand a year didn't do it first.
