The Edwards campaign has put together a graphic - (Click for a larger .pdf version of the photo) highlighting the differences between Edwards and Clinton on the issues. And staying with that boxing analogy, the Edwards campaign writes, “Edwards proved again last night, beyond a doubt, that he is a true heavyweight when it comes to challenging the other candidates to tell the truth on the issues that matter most to the American people. The rest of the contenders? Well, let’s just say that even the best hype machines can’t disguise a real featherweight.”

For its part, the Clinton campaign has put together a video it is very proud of -- a compilation from last night’s debate of what they call “The Politics of Pile-On.”

To continue the boxing theme:

"float like a butterfly and sting like a bee"

"It's hard to be humble, when you're as great as I am."

"rope-a-dope"

"It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."

"If I had lower IQ, I could enjoy your interview"

"Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on Brown people in Vietnam while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs and denied simple human rights? No I’m not going 10,000 miles from home to help murder and burn another poor nation simply to continue the domination of white slave masters of the darker people the world over."

Bravo nuanced, worth reading over and over again.
The best analogy of the world.
The more things change the more they stay the same.

What is a paper hanger? Is it a ONE arm paper hanger?
Rick Ws I agree Bill Clinton ran as a moderate democrat Swartsnegger is a moderate there are still a lot of moderate republicans. The country is so evenly divided that it takes people from both sides of the aisle to win the presidency and also to govern otherwise you get gridlock.
I am an independent voter in NH.  I have watched almost all of the Democratic debates so far (after the past 6 years, I cannot even bring myself to watch a Republican debate).  Up until now, I have really been trying to stick with Obama because I like what he has to say.

Having said that though, after all of the debates so far, I honestly have to say that, despite the severe lack of screen time, it seems that Biden has really been the one who has been dead on with his answers.  It seems like he says exactly what is on his mind, gives very concise and smart answers, and appears to be giving truthful answers that he believes in rather than political answers.  Unfortunately, right now, it doesn't appear he could win, but since an election is about voting for the right candidate and not who is popular, I will most likely vote for Biden if he is still running then.  If not, then I will probably go with Obama.

Hillary Clinton does not give concise answers on anything - I could never, ever, in good conscience, vote for her in any election.  She gives the impression of carefully calculating every answer before saying it to make sure it fits the perfect answer for as many people as possible - all political answers, and no truthful answers that she believes in.  If it comes down to Hillary as the nominee, I'd lean toward (and I hate to say this after Bush) voting Republican if the Republican nominee says things that I somewhat agree with.  If they don't even have that, I'll write in Bugs Bunny.

Finally!  I have been waiting and waiting for somebody to call Hillary on all of her evasive tactics.  She has found a million ways to not answer direct questions even to the point of boldly refusing to answer a specific question during 3 debates!  Who can get away with this.  I was appalled.  The press is so busy declaring her the "frontrunner" that they haven't had time to notice that she refuses to discuss the tough issues when asked.  "I'm not going to answer hypothetical questions" was one sidestepping answer.  Anyone remember that one?  I thought that's what a debate was for, so that the voters could get an idea of where everone stood on important issues.  It took her forever to come up with her so called health care program also.  (To much fanfare, I might add.)  For a "frontrunner" you would think she would have had it prepared long before she started running.  John Edwards had all his programs ready to go.  His healthcare program was unveiled weeks before Hillary's, with no big fanfare from the press, and when Hillary finally showed her plan, what a coincidence, it was very much like his.  Time the press let everyone alone to make up their own minds and stopped trying to tell us who our nominee would be.  Given a chance, John Edwards will prove he is the only real presidential candidate who can go the distance and beat the GOP.  Hillary will be chewed up and spit out by them, she has too much baggage. (Remember the Travel Office scandel?), Wait until they start up on that one!  An expensive haircut will be long forgotten.  Keep up the good work John!
