Dodd jabs Clinton, Edwards in new ads

From NBC's Mark Murray and Chuck Todd

Well, it looks like Dodd's confrontation with Clinton at Tuesday's debate -- over the drivers' license issue -- wasn't an isolated event. His campaign is up with two new TV ads in Iowa that take subtle jabs at Clinton and Edwards.

In in the first ad, two barbers -- whom the Dodd campaign has used in a previous advertisement -- are watching a Clinton ad hailing her health-care plan. "Is that a new plan?" one of the barbers asks. "The only way you’re gonna get health care passed is to bring Democrats and Republicans together," the other says. Then: "Why not Dodd? After all, Dodd brought both parties together to pass the Family and Medical Leave Act."

Dodd then adds, "I’m Chris Dodd and I approved this message. I’ll bring Republicans and Democrats together to give every American affordable health care."

In the other ad, the same two barbers are watching Edwards, who's saying, "I have been fighting them my entire life" (obviously referring to special interests). You know there’s a lot of talk about fighting out there," one says. "Yeah, but we need a president who’s about results," the other replies. "Why not Dodd?" they both exclaim.

Of course, profiling barbers could be seen as an additional dig at Edwards over his infamous $400 haircut.

A Dodd spokeswoman tells First Read, "These ads present the fundamental choice that people have in this election. Folks in the early states and across the country are going to be asked to choose which candidate they believe has the record of proven results about issues that matter most to them. Certainly Sen. Dodd has a substantial record of his own to run on, and that’s what these ads focus on."

I wish there would have been time to hear more from Senator Dodd and Senator Biden on Tuesday night's debate. Even though they are not front runners, they could be potential VP candidates.
The change that most want is to feel positive about the government, wouldn't you say? There seems to be an enormous amount of animosity that stems from having a blind eye to what is better known as survival of the fittest. If you don't think that the military is saving your life, than you live in a dream world. There WILL be more to this WAR than you think and it will continue well into the next presidency, so it's better to start to learn to accepting that. A Democrat will certainly promote more fear in you than you already have today, so just imagine that! Unfortuneately, until people get their blinders off they will think it is all a Republicans fault. This did NOT start with BUSH, by the way, it started with the CLINTONS!!
The more they bark at Hillary the better she gets.
The most interesting candidate was the Big Negotiator
who labled the stance and proved to me that the USA needs that kind of diplomacy by Bill Lopez Richardson.

Back to the drawing board on this ad.
"A Democrat will certainly promote more fear in you than you already have today, so just imagine that!"

You mean like they've fear mongered the hell out of GoreBull Warming just to regain power back? You don't think they'd play games with terrorism like that do you? Bahahahha

Now NEA members go plug in that Gore movie again. There might be some kid who isn't stressed out enough over his lies.

Dodd, Hillary, and Obama have SIGNIFICANTLY more donations from hedge fund managers.
Last spring - Edwards proposed increasing taxes on hedge fund managers. When will the other candidates?
LOL
Bill Richardson was in a firm with Henry Kissinger in 2004 - and Richardson is begging for a position in another Clinton admin.
Anybody who is going to be a VP on a ticket with Hillary as the front runner better realize, their job will be more like a stable boy cleaning out the horse stalls.
We had another Republican in Washington on the state level just resign his seat!

This family values Republican took a legislative trip to Spokane, dressed up in women's lingerie and engaged in homosexual acts, one in a public place, with two different men in the same 24 hour period.

I really don't know how Clinton figures into this, but if you vote Republican, you're not a very good judge of character, or you have something to hide yourself.
I love how Dodd uses actors rather than actual Iowans in his ads.

To be fair, he'd have to actual have supporters in Iowa before he could use them in ads...

Is there anybody in Iowa that can do $400 haircuts in case John Edwards drops by?
Some of Dodd's positions may be OK.
He's just a bit stodgy and a little too Washington.

His anti-war stands are really good

Sen. Biden will not run as VP, and he will not accept the Secretary of State position, he's made that clear when asked. Biden is a man of his word, and when he says no he would not accept the VP or Sec of St. position he means it.

Felix -

These are real barbers from a small town in Iowa! Learn your facts before you throw mud!
"This did NOT start with BUSH, by the way, it started with the CLINTONS!!"

Actually, it started with Reagan (support for resistance to U.S.S.R.'s invasion of Afghanistan, including Osama Bin Laden) and Bush Sr. (Gulf War I and the resulting U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia).  BTW, it's interesting that the people who are screaming that Clinton didn't do enough about Osama Bin Laden are the same people who were screaming that the Cole bombing and the missiles launched at the training camp in response were a "Wag the Dog" attempt to distract attention from the more important issue of Monica Lewinski.
