Paul raises $2.4 million in one day

Posted: Monday, November 05, 2007 4:06 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Ron Paul has had quite the fundraising day. The candidate has raised almost $2.4 million today on the campaign’s This November 5th money push. The campaign has a lofty fourth-quarter goal of $12 million, and it is nearly halfway there, according to its Web site with $5.5 million raised so far. The fourth quarter doesn’t end until Dec. 31.

I don't believe all of the claims that I hear about Ron Paul being loved online.  Since this has no detail about how many people contributed, I don't know if it is one person or 100,000.

He could be a V.P candidate, but I don't believe he will win the nomination.  He doesn't seem to understand the world as it is right now
Are we taking him seriously yet?
The day and the drive are not over yet, we're looking at 3-4mil at least! yes!

Ron Paul '08!
The day is still young.  Let's take the count at midnight tonight...
Fantastic! I really appreciate it that finally a big news-site publishes the story. This might well turn out to be a turning point in the presidential election race!
Wait until people get home from work.
Ron Paul rocks the Constitution!
Gee whiz, I don't see any mention of it on the major media outlets although on the front page of Fox "news", there's a very important "story"

"Stephen Colbert ends White House bid after being removed from South Carolina primary ballot."

What a joke "Free" media has become.  It's Free because nobody in their right mind would pay for this trash.
Remember, remember, the 5th of November...

The day is isn't over yet.  Paul is the ONLY candidate with a near 100% transparent campaign, the ticker is updated in real time with real names of real people.

Finally! Some coverage.
Wow - it took MSNBC a full 16 hours to pick up on this.

Dont worry - it's not as bad as it sounds. (CNN, FOX etc. etc. are still in total denial)
YES! And this comes from nearly 20,000 donors, most of whom are new!

With this kind of broad-based support, Ron Paul will be the Big Surprise for the Republican Party!

It is exciting to see so many people respond to a message of non-intervention and fiscal responsibility!

I'm for RonPaul2008.com!
Correction:  This was a grassroots effort.  The campaign was uninvolved.
I guess all the money must be spam. Right? Nope. Ron Paul is the real deal. When  will the main stream media wake up. Ron Paul is a top-tier candidate who has a strong grassroots following from everday Americans. Already raised $5.5 million. He only raised 5.1 million last quarter. The campaign is exploding. A GREAT DAY FOR AMERICA

ronpaul2008.com

Liberty; the heart and soul of America, is awakening. If you listen you can hear the blood of the patriots begin to pump, the tools that were used to divide, are now uniting us. Let's slay this dragon called 'big government' and restore the constitution.
Wow!  You are finally covering some Ron Paul news again.  Hmmm...$2.4 million couldn't come from a couple of spammers and a botnet!  Maybe MSNBC and other news outlets will start including Ron Paul in their polls!
Actually, this push was not connected with the campaign and was organized entirely by the grassroots.

Thanks for the reporting, nevertheless!
Just wait and see what the total is by the end of the day. Its going to keep growing as people get off work and continue to donate. This is a great day for America and I will never forget it. If you havent donated yet then do so now. Even a small donation will make you feel like a part of such a great movement for freedom. $5 or $10, or $100, do what you can, it will make a difference. Ron Paul baby!
How is half the money in less than half the time lofty?

Maybe it's time you (the press) realized that liberty is more popular than catch phrases.

Ohh man you haven't seen anything yet.  Remember, Remember the fith of november.
When are you guys going to realize he is for real?

How else can you explain 5.5 million in just over a month!
I hope paul gets nominated for the repubs, that way if hillary is the dem candidate I will have someone to vote for
Just to clarify...

the day isn't over yet... and this is not a 'campaign' event... I believe it was organized by Trevor Lyman (ThisNovember5th.com).

There is also a push for another 'money bomb' for Veteran's day - November 11th
Ron Paul is out to break all records! He has won the latest straw polls in 13 different states and he will win the New Hampshire primary! Watch out pro-war CFR types.
I would counter that "the candidate" did not raise over $2mil today.  Rather, contributors spontaneously contributed over $2mil today to his candidacy.  The Paul campaign did not endorse this fundraising event, nor did it use its e-mail list to ask for any special contributions today.  Such is the belief in this candidate that today, in reference to Guy Fawkes Day's anti-status quo imagery, thousands and thousands of ordinary citizens wanted to make a statement that Ron Paul not only has a chance to win, but he has a mandate to change the way we think our federal system of government should work.
It'll be at least 3 million by the end of the day.
Great to see this coverage, as the number keeps growing.  One correction: the campaign did not design this push.  It was the brainchild of a couple of volunteers unrelated to the campaign, and all the promotion prior to today was outside the campaign.  In fact, the campaign's web site never even mentioned it.
That is all spam money. This guy will never in his lifetime win the Republican nomination. I dont care how much they build him up as this so-called constitutionalist, he wont win. These spammers flood the internet and call in to c-span, etc. to make it seem as though he has a huge following. If he is soooo great; why doesn't he have the nomination locked up? In a minute you will be flooded with he is so great posts. This is organized spam.
By the end of the day Ron Paul will raise more money in one day than any other Republican. This is today's Boston Tea Party. People are fed up with the status quo. The pundits will discover that the support is real and that the mainstream news is no longer really news, but part of what is becoming the propaganda arm of big business. Election day in New Hampshire is where the rubber meets the road. With or without "mainstream news" Ron Paul and his grass root troops will take back America. Ideas like shutting down the IRS, bringing troops home, cutting taxes are as American as apple pie. Have a slice and enjoy the freedom.
Awesome!!!
Correction: He raised $2.5M and the day is only half over. He is expected to do $3M-$4M, which will be a record. The confirms that Ron Paul is a top tier candidate.
$2.4 million... as of approximately 4:30 EST.  The day is far from over and many people expect the donations to surpass the $3 million mark or higher!  This is a testament to how much people all across America really support Ron Paul.
That's unbelievable!
Congrats to all who are making this happen! MSM, take notice... it is OUR country and we want it back!

RP 2008!
I really hope that you go back and change the headline for this after today is over.  It would be sad for Paul to raise $5 million in one day, and for it to be reported as "$2.4 million".

Everyone reading this blog entry... please remember to check the figures after the end of the day.

Congrats to all who are making this happen! MSM, take notice... it is OUR country and we want it back!

RP 2008!
Slight correction: "The candidate has raised almost $2.4 million today on the campaign’s This November 5th money push." This November 5th thing was neither organized nor promoted by the Paul campaign. It was (is) a genuine grassroots campaign on the part of supporters acting on their own initiative.
This shows the amount of people that support Ron's campaign. This isn't some fundraiser of millionaires, this is a true grassroots effort made up of thousands of people in the US.
The average contribution to the Paul campaign is $40.  Dr. Paul does not accept money from corporations.  Thousands of regular Americans are showering this great man with money today.
I'm happy to have been a part of todays fund raising push. I think this sends a clear message that Ron Paul supports are not just crazy basement nerds on the internet spamming online and text polls.
A person can donate no more than $2300 dollars to one candidate. At the very minimum we have 1300 donors but I highly doubt the average person has given $2300 dollars to the campaign. I think a fair assumption is $100 which would be in the neighborhood of 30,000 people in one day at this point. Remember there is still more than 8 hours left in the day.
The perfect 3rd party candidate to assure a democratic LANDSLIDE in 2008!
Go Ron Paul!

Van
I am voting for RP and gave $250.
MSNBC, this was a grass roots effort with no official endorsement from the Paul campaign.  Please try to report accurately.

The money is all spam run by spam-bots?  riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight and I'm Elmer Fud

JK
Where is the credibility of mainstream media when they say that Ron Paul is at one or two percent?  Nobody else raises money like this.  Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate qualified for the presidency.  It's time to purge the Republican Party of the Council on Foreign Relations Neo-Cons and work toward restoring Constitutional government.  Our nation has been on the wrong track for almost a humdred years.  Ron Paul in 2008.
I donated and I'm a real person.  Not a spammer.  Not a cpu in some pc.  Go Ron Paul.  Please donate.
I'm taking Ron Paul very seriously. He passes my check list for necessary requirements in a presidential candidate 100%:

Will end Iraq war immediately: Check.
Will not go to war with Iran: Check.
Will cut spending: Check.
Understands our monetary system and its problems: Check.
Supports actually following the constitution: Check.
Want to clean up the CIA and FBI: Check.
and most importantly...
Not a Council on Foreign Relations member: Check.
First we are going to take the party back, then we are going to take the country back!  How is this all spam?  How can spam donate money?  Another mindless poster who listens to Sean Hannity.
Ron Paul is loved online and in the streets! It's time for a revolution and he is the man to lead the way!

RON PAUL 2008!

Go Donate to save the constitution!
