Paul raises $2.4 million in one day

Posted: Monday, November 05, 2007 4:06 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC’s Domenico Montanaro
Ron Paul has had quite the fundraising day. The candidate has raised almost $2.4 million today on the campaign’s This November 5th money push. The campaign has a lofty fourth-quarter goal of $12 million, and it is nearly halfway there, according to its Web site with $5.5 million raised so far. The fourth quarter doesn’t end until Dec. 31.

RP OR REVOLT! (Im not crazy, just overly happyish)
This is in response to S.B. Stein E.B. NJ 's post.  As of 1:38 pm PT 10,618 people have donated.  Sorry you don't believe all the online support because it's REAL whether you believe it or not.  Real numbers can be found at http://ronpaulgraphs.com/donors.html.  BTW, the maximum a single donor can contribute is $2,300.00.
...Just reached 2.5 mil...
Ron Paul for president. I am real, and I really donated a hundred dollars today, so did my mom.
It is simply amazing how many people will watch this happen and still deny that the people are shedding their party thinking and putting on their America thinking.  Our country is in trouble and Ron Paul not only told us years ago he still understands the core of our problems
the difference between paul and the other republicans

abortion... against it

the enivorment....against it

voting for minorities ... against it

gay rights.... against

extra rights for the wealthy,... for it

rights as if corporations were a citizen ... for it

will tell you how many have donated.
Why do grumps like S.B. Stein have to make inane doltish comments about the validity of Ron Paul supporters?  Because they are snarky ignoramuses who get off on diminuting Ron's influence.  I think they are sad little miscreants.  If he had a CLUE, you can go to his website and see all of the donors real time, and i know it is accurate cause I donated and my name popped up a minute later.  Go Ron Paul and F these anti-RP fools.  RP doesn't understand the world today, I beg to differ, your opinion is  product of hype sir and not your own.
S.B. Stein:  You don't seem to understand the world as it is.  One person can't(legally) give $2.5 million, much less in one day.

Ron Paul is being ignored by major media outlets and discounted as a "top tier" candidate.  This "money bomb" is evidence that he's a force to be reckoned with.  And your disbelief is just an example of people not wanting to believe that Rudi or Fred aren't leading like the race they way people think they are.

Ron Paul '08 ALL THE WAY!
Nope its not a botnet, nope it is not a vocal fringe minority....it is the people.

What is truly amazing is that there is NO SPECIAL INTEREST money in all of this.  The establishment and those wanting favors for contributions have no incentive to contribute to Paul since he can't be bought.

Isn't this what the MSM has been calling for with its tireless droning on about the need for campaign finance reform?

Here is your reform...now print it.
The reason why you don't hear mention of Ron Paul on mainstream media outlets like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck?  In Pakistan, they call it State-Run Radio.  In the United States, they call it Fox News.
Stein, just so you know, the maximum contribution for a single person is $2300.  You can look at the average contribution and # of contributions at ronpaulgraphs.com.  Hope this helps!
Media and Washington are officially on notice. We are taking our country back. Ron Paul is our choice to lead this country back to greatness.
God Bless America!
I think its hilarious how many people try to bury their heads and pretend that there are just a few hundred spammers doing all of this! They just can't come to grips with how many Americans are sick of the direction the 2 parties have gone, and that they citizens want A CHANGE. With the numbers jumping by the minute, RP is getting tons of support, and the sheer number of donators is a sign of how heavy his support its. Many candidates rely on much larger donations by far fewer people. RP has raised MILLIONS with a huge amount of it coming from people donating $20-$30 because thats all they can afford, but feel compelled to help elect someone who respects our constitution.
Do my eyes deceive me?  Could it be?  Ron Paul on a mainstream media (MSM) site without a single negative adjective aimed at him or his supporters?  Not one?  I thought objective journalism was off-limits for MSM?  Be careful Mr. Montanaro, writing this article outside of MSM protocol may be reason to remove you from journalism as a radical, free-thinker.  You may soon be lumped in with those (insert negative adjective here) Americans who actually support Ron Paul, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
It's all GRASSROOTS GIVING folks! Individuals who love freedom, liberty and LESS government. That's who is giving to Dr. Paul. Just wait for the Q4 and check out the FEC website for the details. It's all there.

"I don't believe all of the claims that I hear about Ron Paul being loved online.  Since this has no detail about how many people contributed, I don't know if it is one person or 100,000."

Here ya go Chief-

http://paulcash.slact.net/
I thank you for insightful comments Sean Hannity AKA InTheMiddle.  Yes, I spammed $100 to Ron Paul today and $200 last month.  I'm enjoying this.

While the media does have a tremendous impact on the masses and who they ultimately vote for, the Internet is playing the biggest role ever in shaping up the next primary. Like many others, this is the first time I have EVER contributed money to a political candidate.

I can't speak for everyone, but spam played no role in my donation.
Ron is the only one that DOES know how the world works, I bet Ron will have 8 million by tommorrow.
I am not a spammer.  I am a 38-year old moderate who has voted for both Republicans and Democrats pretty evenly through my life.  Ron Paul is the only candidate running - on EITHER side - that has the common sense we so desperately need.  I gave him $100 today. Go Dr. No!
Those of us supporting Ron Paul are trying to tell the people in D.C. that their nonsense of the past 50+ years is no longer acceptable.  And if you think the "leadership" in Washington has done such a great job, then take a look at where the dollar is headed.  We have to make a stand and Ron Paul is the outlet.
The tide is turning.  We are witnessing a spontaneous sea-change in American political history.  Ron says it's not about him, it's about the message: "The message of liberty has no flaws."

Keep the faith!  Believe!
Allow me be perfectly candid... I am intoxicated with joy by this news article.  Finally, evidence that the people of the U.S. get it!  Freedom!!!  Now, I am going to contribute again... RON PAUL, RON PAUL, RON PAUL!!!
Note that the official campaign didn't push this donation drive. They didn't even notify anyone of it in their emails or website. This is a pure grassroots effort.
This is not "spam" money this was organized out side his campaign. there was no spam involved and each doner does have the federal limits imposed on them. so this isn't 1 or 10 people donating a few hundred grand. this is tens of thousands making 100 dollar donations and who will continue to do so. I know I will.

Wake up! Ron Paul is for real and we want our country back! and ya know the grass roots has a few more money bombs to hit him with. just watch. How about we double the 12 million goal and make it 24 Million. Bet we could make it!
Inthemiddle of texas, stop whining and opining, you can't affect us loser.  Who is your candidate inspiring?
They were just talking about it on CNN!
Let me write tomorrows MSM headlines now.

"PAUL CAMPAIGN FAILS TO MEET FUNDRAISING GOAL"

"PAUL CAMPAIGN FALLS SHORT"

"ANOTHER FUNDRAISING SHORTFALL FOR LONGSHOT CANDIDATE"

"PAUL CAMPAIGN MONEY BOMB MISSES TARGET"

take your pick, these will be what we read tomorrow.
I don't believe all of the claims that I hear about Ron Paul being loved online.  Since this has no detail about how many people contributed, I don't know if it is one person or 100,000.

He could be a V.P candidate, but I don't believe he will win the nomination.  He doesn't seem to understand the world as it is right now

-----
The max any one person can donate this quarter is $2,800

Just FYI
I'd like to give a big F-U to all of you antipaul people who keep claiming this is spam money.  It's because of people like you that the country is falling apart.  The dollar will be worth zero next year and I hope you enjoy your new life as serfs.
thanx msnbc. I watch your politcal coverage
because u know whats going on in the world.RON PAUL.
SB Stein: No one person can donate more than $2,300 per quarter, so there is literally no way this could be one person.  Online tracking statistics (such as at www.ronpaulgraphs.com) show that over 20,000 people have donated today.
Heres your detail: http://www.ronpaulgraphs.com/week_over_week_donors_flat.html

As I type, it's at 21,367 donors today. And as far as it being just one person, since their is a donation limit of $2300, it would have to be a few more than 1.

"Since this has no detail about how many people contributed, I don't know if it is one person or 100,000."

You clearly have no understanding of campaign donation restrictions.  The Federal Government, through the FEC, restricts people to giving, at most, $2300 per person per campaign.  That means the MINIMUM number of people that have given to Ron Paul, SO FAR TODAY ALONE, is around 1,050.

That's a false figure, though.  Last quarter, Ron Paul's average contribution was $40, nowhere near the $2300 maximum.  With that figure, Ron Paul may have as many as 60,000 people donating to him SO FAR TODAY.

That is significant.
Look at all the comments, see people want to know about Ron Paul....why did it take so long to post something then boom, once you did here we are. Not Spam but real people giving real money reading your news....
Hey, if anyone is looking for information on how many people are donating, go to www.ronpaulgraphs.com/ for the information.  Also realize that the current average donation size is less than $150.  Remember again before posting on a massive MSNBC blog that you realize it's impossible to donate more than $2,300 per person.
YEAHHHHH RON PAUL!!

www.ronpaul2008.com

Donate to be apart of history. I've gone for $275 so far.
Ron Paul,
History maker.  The voice of reason in the 21st century world.
@ InTheMiddle, TX

RE: "If he is so great, why doesn't he have the nomination locked up?"

NONE of the Republican candidates "have the nomination locked up." If that were the case, only 1 candidate would be in the running right now.  That's why there's such things as primary elections.  And as for this historical fundraising event being passed off as "organized spam," wow, you really do have no idea how many Ron Paul supporters there are.  Everywhere he goes the man is greeted by HUNDREDS of enthusiastic REAL PEOPLE, all around the entire country.  Tell me--how are we "spamming" THAT?
SPAM money? What is that and where can I get some?

Get real, IntheMiddle from Texas.

No, these are REAL donation from thousands of partiotic Americans. I donated $200 today.

I wish I could have given more.

God bless RON PAUL.

Donate! Donate! Donate! It's time to spread the message to people who haven't heard it yet.
Woohoo! You haven't seen anything yet.

RP08
STEIN, if you are genuinely curious you can find a realtime list of donors online, updated as they make their donations.  A donor list can be found on ronpaulgraphs . com

Last I checked the number of donors today exceeded 20,000, but that was hours ago when I donated.   Hooray for complete campaign transparency.  Booo for scared shills wallowing in disinformation.
Kelley, it isn't 5MM in a day (yet). It's 2.4MM since midnight last night. This doesn't include the 400K that hit between 11PM-12AM eastern.

Second, MSNBC/Domenico: The November 5th push is NOT a campaign fund-raising initiative. It is an initiative of the Ron Paul supporters that was organized only a short time ago.

Why, when it only takes me a couple "clicks" to validate ths, can people who's daily job it is to do so not do it?

In any regard, donate today to Ron Paul's campaign and vote in your state's primaries!

Ronpaul2008.com
Ron Paul has connected with younger voters who have watched their partents saddle them with unbearable financial burden.  Ron Paul represents all people who want government off their backs!
So it finally got to the point that you HAD to mention it.  Now we know the price of getting your so-called 'news' organization to report a story that has been sweeping the country since early this morning.  2.4 million.  I wonder how much Britney Spears and Steven Colbert could raise in one day.  I can relax knowing that you will be the first to tell me should it ever happen.
Yahooh,
Is this a realignment of the party, could be, stay tuned. The people in this party are working and angry at the lose of a voice since Bush and company, I am glad to see this rise in those voices and Pauls leverage, in the end though I think inthemiddle is right, unelectable, no power base to support him if he were to get in office, both sides would beat him senseless. Too bad, populism is very much on the rise in many of the political circles today and resonates beyond social/economic levels.
