They need not to give any of this money to the states that the 12 Republicans and 2 Democrats are from.  Maybe they will think again.  As for this override.  Why didn't he veto the bill that has 400mil for a bridge to no where that was to built in Alaska, that nobody wanted.

It appears that few of the above have read or know of the pork way beyond the Corps of Engineers Requests. Should the Congress and the President pay no attention to the Corps.  The vote proves again no responsibility to our Country's needs or the recommendations of those cutting the fat. Congress failed to provide a responsible bill...like they have  on so many other issues...like immigration.

It's about time Congress overrides Bush's veto. They should have been doing it from day one.Now they are learning what Bush is all about. He vetoes good programs for this country and only worries about getting Iraq's oil. He and Cheney ought to be ousted. Bush said he would have never have vetoed this bill if they would have allowed a no bid contract for Halliburton to build all dams and BlackWater to protect them at 1Billion a year!

We do have the responsibility to look after the poor, and the weak, and the malnourished, and the outside home wrong doings. But if you do not fix your leaks on your own home, soon enough you won’t be able to look after others outside of your home. I think Bush (and Congress for that matter) should take care of in house major issues first. By saying in house major issues I mean thinking to prevent another $81.2 billion from another Katrina. Before restoring Iraq, we should direct the fund into preventing the worse from happening. I include Congress since the bill as a whole is not perfectly done and needs funds redistribution.
