Kucinich pushes impeachment measure

Something interesting is happening in your US House.

Kucinich wants to impeach the vice president. We knew that. But today, using special procedures of the House, he put forward his resolution of impeachment.

Before Kucinich could get a debate and a vote, Democratic Majority Leader Steny Hoyer stood up and moved to "table" -- i.e., kill -- the resolution. He knew that Republicans would just as soon see the resolution debated and have Democrats put on the spot to vote for or against the Kucinich measure.

At first, a whole bunch of Republicans voted with Hoyer to kill the resolution. Then they came to their senses and are in the process of switching their votes before the gavel comes down.

*** Update *** Now we are being treated to the spectacle of Democrats who had voted to table/kill the measure changing THEIR votes. They don't want to be in a postion of defending Dick Cheney if they don't have to.

*** Update II *** The House has just voted to refer the Kucinich impeachment resolution to committee. That means it's dead.

The impeachment of Bush-Cheney and their prosecution along with that of Karl Rove and others is long past due and has been the only logical answer to this administration's arrogant and belligerent focus on their private agenda to benefit Special Interests, a select few and themselves (while criminally using their offices and America's resources for their own purposes). Want current proof? Consider: "Feinstein, D-Calif., said her vote for Muksaey’s confirmation came down in part to practicality. If Mukasey’s nomination were killed, she said, Bush would install an acting attorney general not subject to Senate confirmation and make recess appointments to fill nearly a dozen other empty jobs at the top of Justice." So they literally just reward his boldness instead of doing what they should have done before. If the Republicans fight it, as you would expect, let them answer to the people.

Comments about "little man" and UFOs are an ignorant way to address the substance of a very clear article of impeachment. Any GOPers out there, have anything clear and reasoned of SUBSTANCE to say on the impeachment measure?

Sure. Why did Hoyer table the bill? We would all like to see exactly what Kucinich and the rest of the Democrats have for grounds of impeachment. If nothing else, it would show that the Democrats can do something other then wasting all of their time. Right now though it looks like yet more grand standing from the loony left.

Now, do the Democrats, or you for that matter, have anything to say?

Long overdue. Bravo, Kucinich!! With Senators Schumer and Feinstein enabling the war machine to move fast forward and steamrolling our Constitution, its good to see a Representative with some backbone and guts. The reason the Dems are at 11% approval rating they only have a very slight majority. With Republicans stopping them by vote or veto. People are getting frustrated. To the author of the updates, I believe NBC's Mike Viqueira: No.....if the bill were tabled, it would be dead. Sending to committee...close, but there are enough folks out there who want to see some disclosure in the matter (not blood, just disclosure) that perhaps there will be a decent investigation.

This is a HUGE victory for Dennis, democrats (except Hillary and Nancy), and America. Let's keep the pressure on.
