First thoughts: Election results

*** Yesterday’s election results: The two highest-ranking offices up for grabs yesterday

went as expected -- with Democratic challenger Steve Beshear easily ousting scandal-plagued GOP Gov. Ernie Fletcher in Kentucky, and with Gov. Haley Barbour (R) winning re-election in Mississippi (keeping his veep chances alive. Yet perhaps the most significant result last night was in Virginia, where Democrats continued their upward trend by taking control of the state Senate. The Dems came up short on the state House side, but still picked up at least four seats. The House was always an uphill battle for them, however, thanks to redistricting in that state. Meanwhile, the DSCC is gloating about the Kentucky result, since Fletcher was a protege of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Yet McConnell -- unofficially at least -- did try and find a candidate to knock off his one-time ally in the GOP primary, but that failed. McConnell is probably on the DSCC's second-tier target list for 2008. But given McConnell's high profile, look for the Democrats to talk up this race a lot, since McConnell's numbers aren't exactly stellar these days.

*** Angry voters rejecting things: But for those looking for a message from 2007, then answer this question: What does a rejection of stem cell research in New Jersey have in common with a rejection of school vouchers in Utah? Voters didn't trust government with new money to oversee new projects. Looking at these downballot results yesterday -- along with a rejection of increased taxes for health care in Oregon -- it seems the electorate may be showing signs of simple distrust in government. Voters don't think government can accomplish the things it claims it can do with extra money, whether that money is a loan (as in New Jersey), new taxes (in Oregon), or simply shifting tax dollars (in Utah). Is it voter anger or distrust? And how will voters define change?  Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?

*** Can they keep it to a seven-day story? So here's a challenge to the Clinton campaign: Can it not add any more sound to the fallout from last week’s debate? From Bill Clinton's Swiftboat defense, to Clinton herself giving an interview to CNN in which she admitted that she wasn't at her best last week, Hillary’s debate performance has been a seven-day story. We're guessing we'll see a dying down of this debate story now that the Republican endorsements of Robertson for Giuliani and Brownback for McCain dominate the process half of the political reporters' minds. It's something the Clinton campaign is certainly looking forward to.

*** Mr. On Message: If there was one thing that struck us more than anything in Giuliani’s sit-down interview with NBC's Brian Williams yesterday, it was the mayor's comfort in his own skin. Nothing flusters the guy, whether it's a question about Bernie Kerik or his family. He doesn't miss a chance to tout his record as mayor (be sure to note how easily he seems to acknowledge that may he cut taxes 15 times, not 23, but says, what's the difference, he's still up 15-0) or contrast himself with the Clintons (he was particularly harsh on Bill Clinton, almost as much as Hillary Clinton). But it was the cheeriness of his message that was surprising. For a guy who had a reputation for being combative, he really has mellowed. On the specifics front, some may take his answer on Pakistan and claim he's more reactionary than forward thinking when it comes to his foreign policy worldview. He admitted that it was only recently that he viewed Pakistan as one of the countries that keeps him up at night. Before the tumult in Pakistan, he said it was Iran and North Korea. The Republicans are in desperate need of some optimism from its leaders. Romney wants to be that guy -- and clearly, so does Giuliani.

*** Robertson and Brownback endorse: Meanwhile, this morning in DC, Giuliani will pick up what his campaign is billing as a major endorsement. The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza reports it’s none other than Pat Robertson. If there is ONE downside for Rudy regarding this endorsement is Robertson’s knack for saying things that force him to apologize; it’s been how he's made news quite a bit in the last few years. In addition today, John McCain gets his own endorsement: According to the AP (and confirmed by NBC), ex-presidential candidate Sam Brownback will endorse McCain in Dubuque, IA at 10:00 am ET. The two will then travel on to Des Moines, Sioux City, and then Grand Rapids, MI. McCain’s Brownback endorsement would not have been a surprise six months ago, but it seems so now since McCain is not always considered a top tier contender despite his relative national poll strength.

*** On the trail: Clinton campaigns in New Hampshire; Dodd is in Iowa, where he has meetings throughout the day; Giuliani heads to South Carolina; Huckabee spends his day in Iowa; McCain is in Iowa and Michigan; Obama, in Iowa, delivers what his campaign is billing as a major address on “reclaiming the American dream”; Richardson fundraises in Maryland; Romney stumps in South Carolina; and Thompson also campaigns in South Carolina, and then later hits the CMA Awards in Nashville. Also, Bill Clinton speaks in Chicago and Detroit; Michelle Obama visits Minneapolis; and Ann Romney is in Iowa.

Countdown to Iowa: 57 days
Countdown to New Hampshire: 62 days
Countdown to Michigan: 69 days

Two huge polls out this morning: (1) A new New Hampshire poll has Clinton slipping, and Obama cutting her lead by 13%! (2) A Gallup poll has Clinton comfortably leading Giuliani nationally. Link to both set of numbers: http://www.campaigndiaries.com/2007/11/morning-polls-now-here-is-reason-for.html
"On the Trail"

What is Senator Biden doing today?
Rudy picks up 'Pat the Baptist'? Wait'll Pat starts apologizing for that. This might turn out to be his funniest malapropism, yet.
Romney...Mr. Optimism? Why not. He knows his sons aren't going to get maimed by an IED anymore than he didn't get maimed from a Bouncing Betty. That has turned out to be a twisted 'Badge of Honor' among the GOP war avoiders.
Guilini has the same thinking as most the democratic candidates as well
"On the specifics front, some may take his answer on Pakistan and claim he's more reactionary than forward thinking when it comes to his foreign policy worldview. He admitted that it was only recently that he viewed Pakistan as one of the countries that keeps him up at night. Before the tumult in Pakistan, he said it was Iran and North Korea."

However, it was Biden that knew where to focus, and where the important issues lie (as witnessed in the last debate and in tv interviews for mmonths). He will not be reacting when he gets into office. No on-the-job training. Did Musharaf call to discuss the issue yesterday with Rudy or HRC? no he called Joe Biden.
One of these entries is so right, another so wrong, I had to make sure I hadn't accidentally slipped into another universe.  On voters rejecting spending bills, a lot of people are starting to realize exactly how badly government generally manages things in general, whether it is an occupation of a foreign country, or a supposedly sounds retirement and benefits program that by current estimates will bankrupt this country this century.  Voters everywhere should always be questioning spending, and rejecting anything that absolutely cannot be handled by the free market.
As for nothing rattling Rudy, I seem to recall a story a few days ago about how Rudy was dumbfounded when asked what he did on 9/12.  And although he likes to slam the Clintons to rally the Republican base, in reality there is no major difference between Hillary and Rudy, whether it be foreign policy (both want continued occupation of Iraq and are ok with military action against Iran), or domestic policy (both are pro-choice and anti-gun rights).  Its one thing for the media to report what candidates and politicians say, but when they blatantly lie and the media does not report on the truth, the media becomes nothing more than a propaganda tool.
Does Rudy really need this endorsment? Robertson may help him with some of the base but it will not resonate in the general election.
What is interesting is the Brownback endorsment of McCain, very interesting, McCain could be the one to bring back more people to the party that have walked away from the devisiveness that is called policy in this party. I had to wait in line yesterday to vote, not just older voters there, young ones with their families, My mom works the polls near Pittsburgh, she said it was low but steady with a good mix of voters, young and old. Seems like it will be and interesting election next year. YEHAH!
BEDFORD, N.H. - Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards is calling for the resignation Nancy Nord, the acting head of the nation's Consumer Product Safety Commission, saying the Bush administration has failed to protect the public from dangerous products.
"Multinational corporations' race to cut costs by off-shoring the production of drugs, toys and other consumer goods has come at the price of quality and safety," the former North Carolina senator said.
In the wake of multiple toy and food recalls for Chinese-made products, Edwards also planned to introduce his own plan to reform the consumer product regulation system. His proposal would:
• Ban consumer regulators from accepting gifts and travel expenses from industries they oversee.
• Improve the Web site for consumer complaints and recalls.
• Ban lead in all children's products, require mandatory independent testing, empower authorities to stop risky children products at the border and increase penalties for companies that produce faulty products.
• Enforce country-of-origin labeling and strengthen food safety inspections and recall powers.

• Station permanent Food and Drug Administration inspectors to conduct spot inspections in countries with significant imports to the United States, beginning with China and India.
• Require China to regulate and trace its chemical exports to counteract drug counterfeiting.
You won’t see hillary take any actions to protect people from corrupt corporations, because she has already sold-out to big business, Edwards has not.
guess first read must have missed this
In Indianapolis, powerful 2-term Democratic mayor with a HUGE cash advantage got beat by a Republican neophyte.  The basis of the challenger's whole campaign was "I'm not Bart Peterson."  And he won 51%-47%.
When it comes to whackos Pat Robertson is one with a capital W.
Maybe Mrs. Romney can explain to the families of the Iowa National Guard, why none of her kids are in Iraq.
Julie gets an endorsement from national embarassment and general, all-around nutbar Pat Robertson.  Will he endorse "taking out" the Dem frontrunners next?  This may give Julie the patina of theocratic righteousness, even though he disagrees on lots of things the theocratic right holds dear, but will this thing turn around and bite him on the ass later on?  I sure hope so.  Everyone is faling in line behind Rudy G., because they see he can beat Hillary to a pulp in the general election.
I disagree. Mr. Giuliani has not mellowed. He has been programmed by handlers who tell him what to say, when to say it and how to say it. We no longer elect presidents, we elect impersonators. If Mr. G. gets elected, look for that combative personality to come to the front as quickly as you can say "Let's bomb Iran".

From the Huffington Post:
Zephyr Teachout
Lobbyist for Pakistan Maxed Out Donations to Clinton
Posted November 6, 2007 | 12:47 PM (EST)

The following piece was produced by the HuffPost's
OffTheBus.

Like others in the race for the White House, Hillary
Clinton has strong words for Pakistan, but has yet to
propose the United States seriously consider limiting
its aid to the country. But unlike the other leading
Democratic presidential hopefuls, Edwards and Obama,
she has accepted tens of thousands of dollars from
Pakistan's lobbyists, Cassidy & Associates. Its
founder, Gerald Cassidy, long ago maxed out his
donations to her.

According to the Foreign Agents Registration Act
website, Pakistan recently hired Cassidy and
Associates for a one year, $1.2 million/year contract.
The Cassidy contract with Pakistan makes for good
reading. For the $1.2 million, "target audiences will
be identified for critical message reception," and
Cassidy will inventively move beyond pushing pieces in
the mainstream media, also focusing on blog outreach.
In other words, Cassidy will shill and propagandize
for one year, and use its contacts in
Washington--presumably including Clinton--to ensure
that the billions in aid are not diminished,
regardless of what the government does to its citizens
and its elections. According to The Hill, Pakistan's
lead lobbyist is Robin Raphel, who served in the
Clinton administration.

While not prohibited by law, accepting such a donation
necessarily raises questions about the effect this
relationship--and similar ones--will have on her
policies in the White House towards Pakistan should
she win the 2008 contest, or in the US Senate should
she not. The influence of money is never
straightforward, of course. Joe Biden, the other
democratic Presidential candidate to receive money
from Cassidy, has called for cutting off support to
Pakistan if it does not change course....'

Praise Allah !!
Campaign contributions from Pakistan !!
You know I really like that Mussharraf guy !!
He's our boy !!
Don't let the right wing smear machine get to him .....

Robertson and Giuliani, an unholy alliance if ever there was one.
My second thought for the day "impeach chaney".
From Salon.com: '...That 2002 letter eased
restrictions, including restrictions on documents
showing advice Clinton got from his advisors, right?
Well, sort of. Because even as Clinton "eased" two of
the restrictions generally, he also created some
exceptions to that "easing." Clinton said that
documents covered by the categories whose restrictions he was "easing" should still be "considered for withholding" if they involved, among other things, "confidential communications" regarding "a sensitive policy, personal or political matter," a "foreign policy topic" or "legal issues and advice, including, but not limited to, matters in litigation and matters subject to investigation by Congress, the Department of Justice or an independent counsel." ...'

Wow !!
This guy is REALLY OPENING UP THE SYSTEM !!

Why would anybody want ot see
"confidential communications" ?

Why would people want to know about
"a sensitive policy, personal or political matter,"  ?

People are asking TOO MUCH
Bill Clinton is so open !!
He'll show you EVERYTHING
(except)a "foreign policy topic" or "legal issues and advice, including, but not limited to, matters in litigation and matters subject to investigation by Congress, the Department of Justice or an independent counsel.

And, really Why would anybody be investigating Bill ?
Why would Congress or the Dept of Justice ?

You can see, Beill is proud of his r3ecord !!
And he wants everyone to see the history of the Clinton Administration.

I can't wait to read about all the wonderful things Hillary did !!
All those accomplishments ......

If there were ever a case of an exception swallowing a
rule, this would seem to be it: Clinton eased
restrictions on "confidential communications"
involving the advice of his advisors -- so long as it
didn't concern sensitive policy, personal or political
matters, foreign policy or legal matters. If you can
think of something involving Hillary Clinton that
wouldn't fall within that exception -- well, you don't
have to, because Clinton also specifically exempted
from his "easing" any "communications directly between
the president and the first lady, and their families,
unless routine in nature."...'
why would a so-called religous leader (pat robertson) endorse someone like rudy giuliani?
Slowing but surley Virginia is becoming a blue state as is  Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico which will greatly help in the Electorial college.
Is there a transcript of Mayor Giuliani's interview with Brian Williams?  I don't think he really answered the question about what he would do in Iraq.
Pat Robertson is the biggest nut in the bunch. Even McCain called him an agent of intolerance. This guy has nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with the neo-con agenda. I'd love to see that passage in the bible where Jesus says that judgment and killing one's enemies are part of his belief system. Oh wait that's right Jesus actually says the exact opposite. You are supposed to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES and NOT JUDGE.
Here is the exact quote from Matthew 5:43
43"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.'
44But I tell you: Love your enemies[b] and pray for those who persecute you,
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The idiotic Chrisitians in this country are manipulated and abused by this man (which enables him to propagandize the whole lot into voting for the least Christian men on the planet George W. Bush and Rudy Giuliani). An entire generation of what would be thoughtful citizens has been turned into fearful, judmental, and generally worthless human beings whom the rest of us will be paying for for ages to come.

Pat Roberston is so antithetical to the teachings of Jesus I wonder if he is anti-christ. It is obvious though that he manipulates people in a rather Machiavellian style, and is a war mongering SOB.
You won’t see Hillary take any actions to protect people from corrupt corporations, because she has already sold-out to big business, Edwards has not.

MK,MO (Sent Wednesday, November 07, 2007 9:59 AM)

That might be a question to ask at the next debate on November 15th.

We'll find out on which side of the fence Hillary is on when it comes to protecting Americans...
Dot

Don't worry too much about these pesky "important" things. Tha national media - MSNBC, ABC, CNN etc etc really don't want to concentrate on these issues - it forces them to think too much - Lord only knows that they dont have the brains to do that.
As an example on my drive around yeaterday, there was an NPR program that was waxing eloquently on the voucher referendum in Utah - how it was a conservative state and how the success of the vouchers referendum would propel national positive attention to this topic. Umm .. you lazy pieces of worthless idiots at NPR - did you ever feel the need to actually talk to the voters there to guage how they feel about this - apparently not because the question went down to a crashing defeat at the hands of the voters by a 60-40 margin: yes NPR, even in conservative Utah !!!!

No wonder the comman person on Main st looks at the journalists with little disguised contempt - leading to the rise of blogs on both sides!!
The Clinton story is a seven day story because the media made it a seven day story.  Geez, talk about tapping a dry well.  Basically her answer to the immigration question wasn't clear.  The press harped on it like she called Barack the N-word during the debate.  The Clinton machine had to do damage control because otherwise she would have been swiftboated.  Gimme a break.

By the way, I'm going to make a bold prediction:  Al Gore will endore Hillary by the end of the year.

Steve Turner:

probably because they didn't volunteer.....

Thank you
Any other questions you need answering, let me know!
Ben, Chicago IL: '...in reality there is no major difference between Hillary and Rudy, whether it be foreign policy (both want continued occupation of Iraq and are ok with military action against Iran), or domestic policy (both are pro-choice and anti-gun rights)...'

Ben, has anyone ever seen them in the same room at the same time ?

It's what I've always suspected ...
Hillary is a FEMALE IMPERSONATOR !!
By day the mild mannered mayor of NY ...
But, after hours, a dynamic Democratic Presidential contender ...
it's Rudy Clinton !!
Friend of the insane !!
Protector of lobbyists and corporations !!
Up ! Up ! and AWAAAAAAAY !!!!!
Hey Sierra, guess what?  First Read has had a story discussing and detailing critcism of Hillary every damn day since the debate last week.

Maybe you ought to look elsewhere to whine about bias.
Van,
Where are you...your girl needs you to defend her!
The Clinton story is a seven day story because the media made it a seven day story.

Maybe it wouldn't be a seven day story if Hillary would get Bill a good woman and send him away....
Steve

I'm sorry, I still do not think asking Senator Clinton to give a less evasive answer to a question can be likened to 'Swiftboating."  The press is "harping on it" because that failure seems to some to be a part of a pattern.  Whether that is true or not, the Clinton campaign has to deal with this evasiveness issue in a sensible way, and should probably do it quickly.
No comment, God Bless America
The answer is already here. I have a very strong vision that Hillary Clinton will be our next president. It will happen.
Yesterday was election day--but apparently the kids at First Read didn't notice it.  I guess mere elections are not sexy enough for them.  They give one lousy paragraph to cover what was another powerful repudiation of republicans--all over the US.  While some repubs got reelected, there was a huge turnover in local elections in red states everywhere.  In Virginia the senate switched to the democrats while the house is inching closer.  Ohio dumped repubs like crazy--this once solidly red state is going blue, blue, blue.  In many mayoral races there, the democrats won, beating repub incumbents--such as in Canton and Lorraine, giving democrats control of all of the 11 largest cities in Ohio.  Even in Mississippi, the senate switched to the democrats, but no mention in FR).  Then there is Kentucky, which has been republican stonghold.  Democrats stopped winning elections there years ago, but now the repubs can't win anything.  All the top state offices went democratic.  Meanwhile, FR gets it wrong again, calling Mitch MCConnell's reelection race next year a "second tier".  Well, the polls show it is very much a first tier, with the popular State Assessor in a statistical dead heat with Mitch.  Usually incumbents run way ahead in early polls, especially very early polls, a year out.  Mitch won past elections by double digits yet is in the 40's now, and sinking.  I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't follow Frist and "retire" to breed race horses or something.

Come on First Read--Politics doesn't start and end with the presidential contest.  Real politics goes on in thousands of local elections all over the US.  The real story is very complex and takes a lot of knowledge, not a field for lightweight.

Oh, and Sierra, you forgot to take your meds again....

Honestly Jerry, I would have thought you'd be over the moon about the media's treatment of Hillary this last week. But seriously, if the Clintons fail to get the nomination what on earth are you going to rant about? =)
There are a lot of alligators in Louisiana.  They have an annual alligator census here to help protect the species.  I never like alligators much, but then I do like the boots. My boyfriend spent his last $1500, credit limit, on a pair of green ones and then promptly retired.  The green ones are the real ones, all green and shiny like a gator in the water.  Anyway, he just sits at homein his underwear and wears the boots.  My mother thinks he is gator bit, but I am gator bait!  Not a lot else to report today.

Psychic Mary (Sent Wednesday, November 07, 2007 1:41 PM)

Everyone has read this line at least 5 times over the last two days, so I think it is ok for you to pack up your side show and move on to another site.
The reason the Dems especially the Clintons are so upset is she does not want the voting public to know what her stance is on issues like immigration.  The general population of the USA does NOT want open borders, drivers licsenses for illegals (really stupid, they need to be arrested for breaking the law if anything, amnesty for those here now, Social Security for those who have not payed any into SSI, instate tuition? for someone living in another country (jezzz I couldn't get instate living 55 miles from the college I went to) and the list goes on and on and on.
I think Dems are scared because the people have begun to pay attention.  For instance, the uproar over the immigration bill that did not pass.  When it was made public what the bill included the people spoke and the bill was not passed.  The people spoke. Polititions know they better listen for fear of not getting elected/re-elected.  Neither Reps or Dems have had to worry so much about the people they "represent", now they do and it must be very scary for them.  They cannot do what they think is best for the country they aer going to be forced to do what the PEOPLE want.  After-all it is a government of the people for the people.

I hope the media continues to ask the hard questions and requires answers.  How can we intelligently vote for the best person (at least that is what I want to do)if we do not know who the best person for us is.  I want to know exactly what each candidate will do or try to do if elected and I have that right.  I will vote for someone knowing how they stand, maybe not agreeing with all that person stands for before I vote for someone I know very little or nothing about what they stand for.

It has to be a little scary to have to hide what your agenda is because you know in your gut the majority of the people do not want what you offer to the country.

We will see what happens.  I think it will be fun to watch.
"Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?"

Yes, his name is Ron Paul and you need to report on him more.
I remember a statement that Pat Robertson made years ago on the 700 Club when he claimed to have prayed a hurricane away from striking Florida.  At that time I thought, this nut wants to be president who would control our nuclear arsenal?!  Now he endorses Giuliani!  What's the deal Rudy and Patty?  Pat will pray away the Democratic Hurricane next Novemeber in exchange for an embassy posting to the Vatican where he Pat can convert the Pope or at least talk him into a 700 Club membership!  I can't wait for the November hurricane!  Perhaps it will carry both Rudy and Patty to sea!
from Angry Voters Rejecting Things: "Is it voter anger or distrust? And how will voters define change?  Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?"

I can see the writer's thought thought bubble over his head:

"How I can write about distrust of government -and- rejecting more taxes and spending -and- mention the presidential election without mentioning the one candidate, Ron Paul, who embodies the sentiment I am describing? Ah! I have it! I'll post a cryptic question and not mention him at all! Brilliant!"
"Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?"

jerry/corpus christi texas (Sent Wednesday, November 07, 2007 2:56 PM)"

I think you are overestimating HRC and underestimating the progressive movement. I'd worry more about Obama then HRC.  His ground game is light years ahead  of Clinton's in Iowa and the latest polls show Clinton's lead eroding. Either way one of those two will probably be the nominee and both have massive cash advantages over the two leading Republican candidates (one of which is a pro-gun control, pro-choice, pro gay rights, former mayor of one the most liberal cities in the Union and the other is a flip flopping, pro choice, Mormon, former governor of one of the most liberal states in the Union).

Couple that with yesterday's elections that saw Democratic gains in the heart of what should be BushCo country and I just don't see how you maintain such a positive outlook. Good luck to you and GOP.  I really think you're gonna need it.

PS> I think non-breeder IDs (ie a drivers license that you can't use to get other documents like a passport, ect) for illegals isn't a terrible idea.  It makes sure that they pass a driving test if they are going to be on our streets and it makes it so we can track them to some extent.  But Clinton's inability to give a straight answer is one -of many- reasons I don't support her and is a big reason why I don't think she will be the nominee.
What's the deal Rudy and Patty?
Rafael DeJesus, Atlanta, Georgia

-- the deal is money. Pat has figured that Rudy is the candidate most likely to funnel more fake-based initiative money to him.
"Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?"

Ummm... were you asleep on Monday when 37,000 voters donated $100 each to Ron Paul?
"Anecdotally, one can sense the yearning for some outsider white knight when it comes to the presidential but do any of the current candidates fit this mode?"

And then the answer came. Monday, November 5th, Republican candidate Ron Paul raised a record breaking 4.2 million dollars in real contributions, not pledges, in one 24 hour period from well over 30,000 donors. His message of limited government, lower taxes, personal responsibility and an end to American empire IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!!

Seriously, you MSM guys are so transparent in your attempts to marginalize and ignore Ron Paul, but clearly, Monday proved it's not working.
Thinking out loud...

What would First Read read like if the only answer to any question posed here was a simple yes or no?

Where would you all go?

Where would Jerry be?

I don't know.

Do you?

Just answer the question:    yes or no.

Mark: Yes, yes, a hundred times yes.

Now what was the question?  :)

They try to keep us uninformed and complacent. What they do not realize the cat is out of the bag. The internet provides real news with an easy fact checking ability. So go ahead and talk about GHUOLIANI,Clinton,Romney,Obama,Edwards,Thompson,Dodd
and do what the media wants you to do. Keep their useless picks in you mind. STOP,THINK,QUESTION and INVESTIGATE but do not take it lying down.Return the constitution to its rightful place because without it this country will not continue. LIVE FREE OUR DIE!
