McCain
touts his record fighting what he calls pork-barrel spending in a new 30-second ad up and running called “Outrageous” in the New Hampshire and Boston television market. He even takes a poke at Hillary Clinton again on her request for $1 million for a Woodstock museum.

“233 million for a bridge to nowhere,” an announcer says in the ad. “Outrageous.
“3 million to study the DNA of bears in Montana. Unbelievable.
“A million dollars for a Woodstock Museum -- in a bill sponsored by Hillary Clinton. Predictable.
“Who has the guts to stand up to wasteful government spending? One man. John McCain.”

we sometimes forget that Hillary got a $1 million earmark for a billionaire in exchange for a political contribution.
Anyone who endorsed the re-election of the worst spending President in history, George W. Bush, can't claim they stand up to wasteful government spending, especially when they support continuing the very war that is sucking the treasury dry.
hmmm, somebody lacked the guts to say who sponsored the first two bills. Somebody also lacked the guts to opposed bankrupting our country with the Iraq war. Simply outrageous.
Any of them who have built monuments to themselves or their family names with our money should be thrown out.
Yes, by all means, cut all this "wasteful spending" that at least stays in the U.S. and instead send it to the bottomless pit in Iraq with absolutely no acountability. The same old fool who spent all his campaign money in the first few months and is now broke. Yeah, we really need this guy in charge. NO THANKS!!
These ads that Romney and McCain are running in NH are dramatically hurting Hillary's poll numbers: http://www.campaigndiaries.com/2007/11/sunday-roundup-florida-is-as-tight-as.html
John John John...first it was the straight talk express and now it is the stray talk express...tell us how many expenditures as absurd as a woodstock museum have been voted into law by you, one john mccain...how about the 200 billion bill the taxpayers got from the S & L and Keating 5 scandal....or how many reprehensible pork barrel prjects have you traded your vote for john? What a gasbag
Who sold out his fellow military into an endless unwinable civil war? One man. John McCain.  Who carried water for the most wasteful administration in history? One man. John McCain. Trying to sell himself as a fiscal conservative  and concerned veteran after signing on to the above? Simply outrageous.
Actually it isn't even "The Woodstock Museum".  It's "The Museum at Bethel Woods".  It sits on the site of the Woodstock Festival only because that's where the land was available.  Although it does have an aspect of being a '60s museum due to the location it's primarily meant to be a promotion of the Arts.  And the $1M sponsored by HRC represents something like 10% of the construction price.  In other words comparing this to "the bridge to nowhere" is complete and total BS in every way possible.
Hey John-Boy, how about returning to the US Treasury all the tens of millions of dollars of earmarks you brought to Arizona.  You could pay it our of your huge campaign war chest.  Um, that last comment was meant as irony.
No money, no issues that seperate him from the White House, others getting endorsments, this is a desperate attempt to move him up the scale. If he doesn't get at least fouth in Iowa he is toast. NH will be his political Waterloo.
We all know there is waste in DC John, it is what we are angry about, The thing is what would you do about it, Line item veto? Tax cut? corporate tax credits? drive the dollar down? Who are you borrowing money from?
Uhh, $233 million for a bridge to nowhere sought by a Republican Senator Ted Stevens (probably soon to be under indictment like his son).  Even assuming the $3 million was sought by a Democrat, the ratio is 233 to 4. That means 98% of the examples pertain to Repugnicants.  Brilliant move, Mr. Lincoln National Savings and Loan.
McCain fought against outrageous spending, yet he's wanting praise for being the one to initially say the surge was needed in the first place? These two separate declarations don't jibe together. Any thoughts, Jerry?
Hummm, a President "for the people"??  Yeah, right.
I wonder if John McCain ever visited Bethel?
I know more about the Bethel Woods project than the average bear. I led a group of historic preservationists who tried to stop the development of the original Woodstock Site which sits in the centert of Bethel Woods. In spite of the fact that we fought against permanent structures being placed on 38 acres of deemed “historic land”, we were very much in favor of Bethel Woods itself.
The ecomony and growth that is so much needed in that area cannot be denied. With $17 million NY State tax $$$ already put into this project, and plans already underway to bring public sewer lines using federal tax grants - spending $1 million more $$ to help make such an area even more inviting??? Well, I think we spend more money on less needed reasons.
So, I guess John McCain hasn’t been to Bethel, and if he has = it hasn’t been lately. He would have seen that this funny, haha, Woodstock Museum money was being used for a bunch of peoples better good IN OUR OWN COUNTRY
