From NBC's Mark Murray
A while back, we mentioned that Kung-fu-fighting/Delta Force/Walker, Texas Ranger/Total Gym star Chuck Norris endorsed Huckabee. Now, he's sent out a campaign fundraising email on Huckabee's behalf.

"While I like and know many of the Republicans running for President, Mike Huckabee is the best person for the job," Norris says in it. "Mike hasn't lived an isolated, out-of-touch life like so many politicians. He was raised by his Dad who was a firefighter and always had a second job to make ends meet. Mike and his sister grew up poor, not privileged. Mike worked two jobs in college and graduated in two-and-a-half years. He is an outdoorsman too -- an avid fisherman, hunter and a long-time member of the NRA."

The email also has a "Chuck Norris Approved" stamp on its banner.

Below is the entire fundraising pitch.

Fact: Mike Huckabee is my choice for President of the United States.

While I like and know many of the Republicans running for President, Mike Huckabee is the best person for the job.

Mike hasn't lived an isolated, out-of-touch life like so many politicians. He was raised by his Dad who was a firefighter and always had a second job to make ends meet. Mike and his sister grew up poor, not privileged. Mike worked two jobs in college and graduated in two-and-a-half years. He is an outdoorsman too – an avid fisherman, hunter and a long-time member of the NRA.

Mike is a committed husband and father. He has always prioritized his family before politics. His wife, two sons and daughter speak his highest praise.

Mike has a heart for helping others and will fight for the causes of the citizens of this country. He is known for having a compassionate heart, such as helping! a young wife endure the trials of spinal cancer to aiding the victims of Hurricane Katrina as the governor of Arkansas. Mike genuinely cares for all people and I mean ALL!

Mike doesn't abandon his values for what's expedient. Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs. At the same time, he doesn't fear offending Christian leaders who give up their values in pursuit of electing their "team leader" just like everyone else.

Fact: Mike Huckabee needs our help.

The first thing I need you to do today is make a contribution in support of Mike Huckabee's campaign. Whether you contribute $1(a buck for Huck!), $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $100, $500, $1,000 or the maximum contribution of $2,300, Mike's campaign has a proven track record of investing it wisely.

The second thing I need you to do today is ask at least one friend to make a contribution to Mike's campaign. If everyone reading this email picked up the phone or sent out an email to their friends and asked them to make a contribution to Mike's campaign and then followed up with them to make certain they had, Mike Huckabee will have enough money to win. Mike has already proven that he doesn't need to raise a lot of money to be successful but we need to make certain we help him hit his fundraising goals. Everyone needs to dig deeper in support of Mike.

The third and final thing I need you to do today is to tell your friends and family members that aren't able to contribute at this time to Mike's campaign to at least sign up for his email updates. Mike's stand on the issues is thoughtful and considered. He is truly the best candidate running for President and someone I think everyone should support.

Fact: Working together on Mike's behalf we can make a great difference.

Make your contribution in support of Mike's campaign today, ask at least one friend to do so also and then encourage your friends and family to sign up for Mike's email updates.

Let me close by saying I recently had the opportunity to spend the afternoon with Governor Huckabee and I can say with complete certainty that Mike is mentally and physically up to the challenge. Over the next two months he is going to need our help to win this race. I will check back with you again in a few weeks to tell you a little more about why I am supporting Mike Huckabee. In the meantime, help me support him today with a contribution of whatever amount you can afford. I am doing the three things I am asking you to do, so please do the same.

Thank you for your time and your support of Mike Huckabee.

It's amazing that Republicans always demonize Hollywood celebrities for endorsing Democrats, but are likewise happy to accept their endorsements. Are they jealous that Democrats get teh endorsements usually and not them? Why isn't Chuck Norris, who is rich and famous, not considered part of the "elite" whose opinions should be shunned by the average person, as the GOP would have us believe?
Nick...I agree with you 100%
Because Norris is not a liberal like most Hollwood  stars...Plus which Republican's are complaining about Hollywood endorsements for Democrats?
"Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs."

-- fact check, there is no basis for this statement. It was not an accident that our founding fathers established a decidedly secular form of government and constitution. Our founding fathers were definitely not "against secularist beliefs."  Repeating that canard thousands of times does not make it true.
Nick - Because he is Chuck Norris, man!  He's Walker, Texas Ranger!  He's not Hollywood - he's a cowboy.  Just because he has a lot of movies and Hollywood pay stubs doesn't mean anything, right?

(Please not the sarcasm)
What you see depends upon where you stand
The repubs are the Parent party, "Do what I say not what I do".
Because he's a liberal...Dan...that's a pathetic opinion. In that case I'll declare because you are a conservative your/Norris opinion should be shunned and ignored. Hey...maybe that'd work...atleast Bush wouldn't be in office and 65-70% of the country would be happy.
Nick We only do it to piss Liberals off. It throws their Pigeonholing of people into groups they can control off balance.
Norris is endorsing Huckabee because he lost all that weight using the total gym!
The republican's who usually have a problem with Hollywood are social cons having a problem with their liberal ideology, not the fact that the endorsers work in hollywood.

Conservatives are excited about Chuck's endorsement because he's a christian social conservative activist with a record for making a difference in the things that matter to us.

If other Hollywood stars shared our values, I guess we'd be trying to get them on board too. An endorsement from a hollwood liberal would mean nothing to me, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be a motivator to a voter that shares their liberal viewpoint. More power to you!

I prefer to rely on my own judgement when it comes to these things anyway, I think endorsements are overrated ...period. Nobody should have the power to be a kingmaker in this country. Let the people decide what they want.
'Nick We only do it to piss Liberals off. It throws their Pigeonholing of people into groups they can control off balance. "

The "pidgeon holing" is on the RIGHT - that was what the origial poster was wondering about - why they're "hollywood limosine liberals who should keep their mouths shut" until the 1 in 1,000 that isn't smart enough to see through GOP bald-faced lying comes along - then Hollywood idiots are OK.

Try posting when your knee isn't jerking.
Huckabee is a social conservative...and thats it.
Hell in this video he is begging his state's legislature to raise taxes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pLOC4krZI4
I like them.  I only voted for Kerry because Max Weinberg supported him.  I think Ashton Kutcher was at that rally too, I cannot remember.
Chuck Norris can cancel elections, stage and win a coup, and still have time to sell more Total Gyms with Christie Brinkley - Why?  Because he's Chuck Norris.  Chuck Norris is so powerful - he's the only one to retain 70's popularity AND 70's style.  Go Chuck!  How about a more meaningful discussion like Total Gym vs. Bowflex, or Rambo II vs Commando.  Republicans or Democrats who believe their party hype are a salesperson's dream...
nuanced.. your over used argument aimed at secularizing the formation of the United States is quite far-sighted. The sole reason the founding fathers included a clause to separate chruch and state was because they had just liberated themselves from a country, Britain, whose national religion ruled the governing body. Individuals with beliefs that did not hold true to the Church of England, even Christian beliefs were shunned and persecuted. This is why Protestants sought refuge in the Americas and why there was a separation of church and state enacted. Not that this guy is actually going to read this, but for those of you that come here and disagree with him and the rest of the secularized, anti-religious part of the nation, you now know that anyone, even faithful Christians are capable of refuting this logically. If nuanced questions the current authority and historical fact, why didn't he question this argument that's been used for more than half a century?
Check out Chuck's column defending Huckabee at ... http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58627
Chuch has been kicked in the head a few to many times. The Huckster is all for illegal immigration and paying to house feed and school them. Chuck you might be tough enough to fight of  m13 but I'm not ???/
Here's the script I'd put on video: Two candidates, Mike Gravel (D - http://snipurl.com/gravelpart2 ), and Mike Huckabee (R - http://snipr.com/fthuckabeeonirs ) are *ardent* supporters of the FairTax.  More and more, it looks like Mike Huckabee may be the ONE to emerge from a "2nd tier" of candidates to compete for the top spot.

So, let's you and me do something to help that along!

Let's save our economy from projected meltdown ( http://snipurl.com/meltdowninprogress ) and ensure that the FairTax becomes a part of our family's future by pledging our financial support to Mike Huckabee in a very solid way - by setting up a "bill payee account" in our bank or credit union *Bill Pay service* (right over the web).

I've scheduled $20.08 to go out, automatically, every two weeks. You can also specify a specific number of payments (individuals cannot exceed $2,300 per campaign) and you can delete your automatic payment at any time. Can you imagine how this could grow into BIG MONEY if enough of us set up automatic, recurring, bi-weekly payments for these candidates?!

Here's the payee entry information you'll need, to join me in this "Help Huckabee Rock the FairTax" effort:

Huckabee for President, Inc. ( http://snipr.com/give2huckbymail )
P.O. Box 2008
Little Rock, Arkansas 72203
Phone: (501) 324-2008

Don't wait! Log in to your Bill Pay service - RIGHT NOW!
Chuck(multible wives) Norris supports the (do as we say, not as we do)republicans.
Well, I am not surprised.
The repubs are the Parent party, "Do what I say not what I do".
John S. Alexander, Edinboro, PA (Sent Tuesday, November 13, 2007 3:29 PM)

John, I'm sorry that's how you feel about parents. But on that note, wasn't it the Dem's looking for a parent when Bill Clinton ran?  Remember pony tail guy?  What are you going to do for us?

nuanced (Nov 13th) - you haven't read any source documents! Your obviously ingnorant by choice...

I completed the matrix on the net.  Only Mike was all green (most representing my views).  The Left is so scared of Mike that they won't even talk about him!
Mike cleaned up the "hidden financial mess Bill Clinton left him in AR.  I hear that the state is STILL benifiting from Mikes fiscal policies!  I wonder if the Left could handle an honest politician?
Look out Fienstien, Boxer, Kennedy, Perosi....
Just a side note - has anyone noticed the bogus websites popping up to "collect money" for candidates?  If you are going to contribute online - be sure it's the official website and that someone isn't taking your money, credit card numbers etc.

Go to the candidate's official website and none other!
I despise politicians who invoke the name of Jesus to get people to vote for them. Jesus doesn't need the government to do His work. Shame on Huckabee and shame on Chuck Norris.
Would you vote for Jesus, if he used his own name.
I've been researching Mike Huckabee for a while. I am a woman and a person of color and am switching parties ASAP.

I'm really tired of these liberals who are getting on my nerves as of late. Trust me, I've lived in more liberal parts of the world (Europe) and the last thing I want to see is this country going the way of "anything goes" when it comes to our moral standards. The thing that separates America from other wealthy, western societies is that we believe in a "total package" leader. In other parts of the world, a person's personal beliefs and moral integrity are not taken into account with regard to gaging his or her suitability for leadership. This is a woeful misstep.

I've watched several Youtube debates and read articles about this guy and the thing I like is that he is CONSISTENT. Even though there are some things that would vilify him in the eyes of others, at least he stands up for what he believes.

That is what I want to see in our leader. I also like the fact that he is a multi-dimensional candidate. He has some views that would boil the blood of the social  liberals (left wingers) and he has some fiscal policies that would boil the blood of fiscal conservatives (right wingers).

I really wish we had a party for people who were socially conservative and middle or slightly center right with regard to fiscal policies.

These tree-hunging liberals are really getting on my nerves. What's more important...protesting people wearing fur coats or dealing with the fact that almost  50% of marriages are ending in divorce, kids in the inner trailer parks and inner cities are not being taught how to "fish" they are just being thrown the same old smelly fish (welfare) as opposed to something that empowers them and kids are not reading anymore they are watching tv and being raised by television personalities vs. their parents and neighbors and the like (yes I said neighbors because when I was young my neighbors took and interest in my well being, checked on me during holiday breaks from college, told my parents when I misbehaved, etc).  What happened to that America? There are people who are white, black, hispanic and the like who agree on this.  Which reminds me to say this: the republicans really need to work on courting moderate conservatives of color because we are out there and want to vote for you but we need to know you are interested in our votes....

But I digress...

My main point is this: you won't be able to raise that future Goldman Sachs derivatives trader or inner city school teacher when our values are going to the way side. Good integrity is the hallmark of a strong society. Let's re-read Roman history and learn from mistakes - it wasn't powerful armies from without that caused the downfall, but rather an erosion of strong moral principles, integrity and good character from within.

I don't really care that much about preventing gay unions (let's call it union not marriage), abortion or other hot button conservative issues.

But I do want a candidate that supports renewed interest in maintaining the moral fabric of this society, that supports "self-help" (get people off of welfare and starting some sort of business...if you can't read then set up an office cleaning business or whatever, maid service, whatever), is reasonable on environmental issues (stop telling people not to drive their SUVs...walk before you run by having people say skip a day a month and use public transportion....that's 52 days a year that cars aren't being driven...that can make an environmental impact and at the same time not have people bugged to death by these tree hugging hippies who have a problem with people spending their hard earned dollars to drive the car they want....) and similar MODERATE policies.

Seriously dude, these liberals are getting on my nerves. I am probably reacting to a Rolling Stones article I read about Huckabee. They basically called him a nutcase. Are we moving to a place in American history where people who have strong values are at the fringe and these "anything goes" liberals are "normal". I hope not.

I mean I haven't seen the inside of a church in ages but I know that the values I learned in Sunday school have affected the way I treat other people. Even if I'm not into all the Adam and Eve, biting the apple and all that, there is value in some level of moral conservatism in society and the protestant morals that the founding fathers believed in.

I think I am going with Chuck Norris on this one. I'm young too so I'll try to get some young people interested in this guy.

I think I'm gonna join the chick from Alabama with pledging my support to Huckaby. By the way, I didn't know they had computers and a modern banking system in Alabama (lmao). Sorry, just kidding.....

In any event, I am glad this guy is running and I am going to the RNC website and register and I am going to his website and register as well.

Good will to anyone who reads this (ultra right wing wacko or tree hunging hippie liberal alike....) - we are all Americans....
Just a thought, has anyone bothered to ask HOW MUCH Chuck is getting to put his stamp of approval on our buddy Mike Huckabee?  It seems to me that I have yet to see a celeb. with enough cash to support someone purely for their ideals (of course, that eliminates Oprah who doesn't need the money ... she has plenty).
