Moans, groans, shouts at Clinton party

Posted: Thursday, November 15, 2007 8:44 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Carrie Dann
DES MOINES, IA -- People here are literally shouting at the screen over Obama's hedging on drivers licenses for illegals. They're sensing that he's teetering on the edge of the same trap that Clinton fell in last time on this tricky issue, and they're loving it.

This is a well-read crowd that loved Blitzer's "Would you support the nominee?" question to Edwards." They immediately caught the reference and cheered at the critique of Edwards' refusal this week to say he'd support Clinton if she wins the nod. And massive groans for his canned response: "Is that a planted question?"

All HC has to do is play rope-a-dope and she wins, even if she does not land a punch.

Obama has lead in his right glove, but he hasn't had a chance to use it.
Did Wolf get paid by the Clinton campaign. He keeps interrupting Obama, and trys to interrupt his answers. The audience must be full of Clinton people also. This is the worse debate I have ever seen.
I am so glad that I'm not the only one that noticed Wolf basically let Hillary get away with murder on immigration. Unbelieveable
I'll agree. This is not a good debate. The "honor system" Wolf said they were on tonight is causing the debate to be much more frantic than the Philly one in October. I'm glad they got the audience calmed down. The hooting and hollering towards the beginning had to be distracting for all on stage
this debate is so unorganized. it's awful
Obama said he supports the DL proposal.  His objection was that he thought that the question was a distraction from the issue of comprehensive immigration reform.  He was interrupted by Wolf a number of times and couldn't complete his thought on his objection to the question.  Still as in the debate he supports the DL provision as a means of improving highway safety (again as he said it is not the main thrust of the immigration problem).

Of course Hillary, after realizing the political winds has taken her fifth position on the DL issue and now opposes it.
Obama '08
The real question is "Is this a planted audience?"
The crowd is stacked for Hillary. Incredible.
John Edwards is rapidly driving up his own negatives.  His "is that a planted question" quip was nasty, forced, and lame.  He better hope that Biden doesn't overtake him and place 3rd in Iowa because Biden is sounding FAR more presidential than Edwards is.
I noticed that too Syl. He interupts Obama, Kuchinich, Edwards & Dodd. This is the worst debate yet. Wolf Blitzer should be shouted down by everyone for being such a shill for Hilliary.

Biden just made a comment (never mentioned Hilliary) and ole Wolf said Senator Clinton do you want to respond...Biden said I didn't attack her...This is so bad.
Oh come on...one of the "undecideds" just wished Bill Richardson a Happy Birthday. How many undecideds do you know that would know one of the candidates birthday? Obviously these "undecideds" were hand picked for a reason and it's not because they are "undecided". This debate gets worse as the night goes on.
MSNBC - PLEASE hold another debate. We need a REAL debate not this contrived debate that CNN is putting on for the benefit of one candidate.
They dont call it the "Clinton News Network" for nothing
OH MY GOD, I thought I was the only one who was upset about this debate format and then when I got up this morning and started watching Morning Joe, I could not believe that Joe Scarborough was actually on my side... And it took Mika a minute but once you started looking honestly at the debate, you had to realize that it did favor Hillary, which is unfair to the other candidates and unfair to America… The MSNBS Philadelphia Debate allowed the candidates to speak freely and not interrupt them when they were trying to make a point.  CNN is looking more and more corrupt.
