ON THE GIULIANI CAMPAIGN BUS
NASHUA, N.H. - There is a noticeable difference between the Giuliani campaign with a bus and the same campaign without one. For several months, we’ve essentially been flying by the seat of our pants. Schedules got changed at the last second and the national media almost seemed like an afterthought as the campaign scheduled rallies around their hefty fundraising schedule.

But today’s events have a whole new dynamic. In addition to the wireless Internet-capable bus and the campaign-high seven events in one day, we were given a thorough schedule of the day in the morning, and instructions before every stop as to where to stand. Campaign surrogates like former Massachusetts Gov. Paul Cellucci and Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta have come to talk strategy or policy. And even Giuliani himself delivered Thanksgiving cake to the hungry press corps.

The numbers of reporters have ballooned. In addition to the regulars, all of the New York City tabloids are here, as are several national newspaper chains and numerous still photographers. Even Australian and Danish press made a cameo. For a campaign that never had a formal launch, this weekend almost seems like an unveiling.

The crowds, however, don’t seem to have gotten the message. A rally for Giuliani in front of Manchester City Hall garnered only a few dozen supporters. Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers. Giuliani generates healthy crowds at town hall meetings, but they are not all loyalists. When it comes to rallies and events where partisans are expected in droves, Giuliani’s crowds disappoint. And the mainstream media has started to notice.

"Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers."

Yep, that's par for the course for a the "front running" candidates.
"Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers." Are you kidding me? Paul's crowds blow Giuliani's away. 5000 people showed up in Philadelphia recently. 2000 people showed up at any Iowa rally. The same for Las Vegas ..and so on.
No kidding.  BTW - Ron Paul's crowds are normally in the hundreds.  I was at the Reno rally and there were over 600 people.  The day prior in Las Vegas there were over 1200 people.
I think the attendance speaks volumes. He has ridden on his 9/11 celebrity and gotten pretty cocky with the polling percentages. However, his campaign is not generating the buzz that Paul and Huckabee are. Though his numbers seem to hold nationally he is losing ground in many states.
His strategy is to focus on the big states thinking he doesn't need Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina. This could prove to be quite a mistake. Contests are often won based upon momentum and if he continues to fall in those states to the point where he really tanks in the primaries it will most certainly affect California and Florida where he is already losing ground.

Call me nuts but from the looks of it I think the Republican nomination will come down to a race between Paul and Huckabee.
Get used to Ron Paul supporters Rudy.  They are everywhere in NH.
Giuliani's alleged popularity is a lazy media and crooked pollster-driven mirage.

We're really supposed to believe that this guy is the frontrunner?  He draws crowds in the dozens wherever he goes; Ron Paul draws crowds in the high hundreds or thousands.  He has fewer than 100 meetup.com members; Ron Paul has 70,000.  His "fundraising schedule" consists of small, private events where $2,300 donors in the legal, financial, and military-industrial complex sectors bomb him with pay-for-play special interest cash, which is simply legalized bribery; Ron Paul's campaign gets much smaller donations from many more people. The Ron Paul Forums have 7,000 members; there is no such thing as a Rudy Giuliani Forum because no one has bothered to create one.

There is no enthusiasm for Giuliani from the American people. None. His "frontrunner" status is a lie.

Ron Paul 2008.

Giuliani needs to be stopped, he is worse than George Bush.  The only sound of reason in the Republican Party is Ron Paul
Duh...."Giuliani’s crowds disappoint. And the mainstream media has started to notice."

In the rain - in the cold - they packed Independence Mall and the supporters picked-up the tab.

He didn't pay anyone to attend, so they didn't.

Digg this:  Ron Paul has highest support of the Republicans with black voters:  http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_is_Highest_Polling_Republican_Among_Black_Voters_2

So many people from so many walks of life love Ron Paul!
Well, maybe mainstream media should notice the number of Americans that are behind Ron Paul and Kucinich because we are tired of business as usual in our government, and we want a President who will follow "We The People" and not the big corporations or special interest groups. We want to preserve our country, and protect the citizens.
In stark contrast to the energy and passion of Ron Paul supporters.

Now here this: Ron Paul will win the republican nomination for president. The presidential election will be Ron Paul at >70% of the vote.

Peace, Liberty and Prosperity for all Americans.

Ron Paul '08 & '12!
It's the American thing to do.

We Ron Paul supporters are passionate and highly enthusiastic, which cannot be matched by the supporters of any other top-tier candidate. The reason is that all the other top-tiers are ho-hum same old thing - Neocons, statists who want global empire and less freedom and liberty for the individual, tax and spenders, flip-floppers. Who can get excited about that? I'm surprised even two dozen showed for Rudolph. Maybe he was giving away free hamburgers. Whereas, Ron Paul is potentially another George Washington or Thomas Jefferson. We believe he will restore government the way it was meant to be - of, by, and for the people. And that's exciting.
Was Rudy in drag for the occasion?  Or perhaps the NYFD send a contingent to urge him to cross the border into Canada and never return, that would be a nice touch.
No disrespect for Dennis but I have yet to see a Kucinich supporter at any other rally then there own.
Seems like a spin piece to make the two long shots are somehow equals.

Ron Paul has a message of constitution and individual liberty. Kucinich has a different view of the constitution with huge social Govt.

Get used to it Rudy, your time has come (9/11) and gone. The country has spoken we dont want a Big Govt Repub in the white house.

"And the mainstream media has started to notice."

It's about time...

Ron Paul 2008
I am a new yorker who lived under rudy's regime.. please please please dont fall for this loser's BS. he is a tyrannical meglomaniac who will make georgie look good.  he is taking the worst thing that ever happened to NYC and this country and using it.  If you have to vote GOP  vote for paul....... or dont vote at all...
I think the author meant that Ron Paul and Kucinich supporters match the Giuliani supporters *at Giuliani's own rallies*. Ron Paul gets thousands wherever he goes. He's also likely to raise at least twice the money Giuliani does this quarter.
3 things of Jiuliani - verb, noun, and 911. There is really nothing else from his mouth.
well, they won't be able to keep up the lie much longer.
cat's out of the bag.  the question is what they're going to do next.  most likely the name calling and attacking will begin.
hunker down in the trenches folks....

Ron Paul 08!
Rudy's campaign spends money lavishly, like big government.  In visits to Southeastern New Hampshire his campaign enjoys the high life at one of the nations premiere historic hotels, The Wentworth by the Sea Hotel and Spa.   His over publicized visits to local diners with common people is pure show.

Maybe the mainstream media should focus more on Ron Paul then? Something to think about with a comment like this; "Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers."
Ron Paul will surprise people, in spite of the media
either trivializing or ignoring him.
Guess what America.... The message of FREEDOM is out of the bottle and more and more Americans are realizing that we don't have it.  Rudy is not the answer to what ails America.  Ron Paul is.
Geeze, I came to this article to read about Ron Paul, and its about Giuliani.  BORING.  Give us more Ron Paul interviews, I can't get enough of them.
Well Im a Rudy supporter. I admit there isn't many of us, but once people relize only Rudy is willing to Nuke Iran and save us from the terrorist, they are sure to support Rudy.

To the person who said there isn't a Rudy forum, yes there is http://www.rudygiulianiforum.com

So if you want to show your support for the hero of 911, be sure to join the forum.
"IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE GIULIANI SUPPORTERS WILL LOOSE HOPE AND COME OVER TO THE WINING TEAM"(RON PAUL,BABY, 2008!!!!!)
I attended a GOP lunch in South Carolina where Dr. Paul spoke, and there were over 400 people there. There is no doubt that Paul and Obama draw the biggest crowds. I think what this article was saying is that at this particular Giuliani speech, there were as many Paul and Kucinich supporters as Rudy supporters.

Go Ron Paul! I hope we raise $10 million on December 16th.
Stop censoring candidates.
Rudy and Hillary are the so-called front-runners yet in my many months of blogging and reading about all candidacies, I haven't met a dozen people that support those two, combined. And I live in New York!
Wait til Dec 16th Rolls around...  Ron Paul is going to make another historical day out of the Ron Paul Tea Party - please donate that day at least $100 (or whatever you can) check out the event at www.teaparty07.com
> Are you kidding me? Paul's crowds blow Giuliani's away.

Maybe he meant that more Ron Paul supporters show up at Giuliani events than do Giuliani supporters?
Not surprising.  I flew up from Dallas to Ron Paul's rally in Philadelphia, as did several other supporters from Texas I know.  I SERIOUSLY doubt anyone is flying anywhere to hear Rudy or Mitt or Fred.  If you guys in the media want REAL numbers, just follow the Ron Paul campaign around.  There were 5,000 outdoors in a cold field/mall in Philly the day I was there and NO ONE was moving!  If anything, they got there EARLY to assure them a spot on the mall that day!

When is the media going to "notice" THIS response?!  The guy is pulling thousands wherever he goes!
The media and the polls are totally manipulated. Occasionally an authentic story like this escapes the MSM censors. CBS,ABC,NBC,PBS,MSNBC, Fox and all the rest are bought and payed for. The fourth estate is dead. America is dying at the hands of the greedy corporatists.
This is a perfect example on why the MSM is out of touch with the American People. For months they have been promoting Rudy as frontrunner because of polling data of the 6% of Republicans that voted for Bush in 2004. The MSM should go out and look at the crowds and actually do some reporting. They will find that Ron Paul is actually the frontrunner.  Thank you.
I've met a total of 3 or 4 Giuliani "supporters" here in Oregon, and their enthusiasm was quite tepid. By contrast, every time we hold up our Ron Paul signs, people smile, wave, honk, and even yell "RON PAUL!!" at us as they go by.  Not everyone... yet... but he's catching on, I'm tellin' ya.  The energy is building every week.
some of you are mistaken.  The article was implying that there were an equal number of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich supporters AT THE GIULIANI RALLY!

I don't think anyone other than Obama can come close to Ron Paul's rally numbers.
Ron Paul Rallies are very inspiring I recommend anyone who wants to become part of the greatest political shift in this country to take part!

Peace, Prosperity, and Libery!
Thanks for "noticing"!

Poor "mainstream media," slow to the story, as usual.  The emperor has no clothes, and Giuliani has no supporters.  Not much longer until even free cake won't be enough to drown out the little voice saying so...
Giuliani's "front runner" status is the biggest joke in the campaign.  He's only leading in two areas -- random telephone surveys of people who don't know what's going on, and in donations from big money types who think he's the front runner.

Giuliani has won almost no straw polls where people actually have to show up to vote for him, and generates barely any excitement on the campaign trail.

Look up "Ron Paul rally" on YouTube.com if you want to see what a top tier candidate appearance is supposed to look like.
When will Ron Paul begin to get more publicity for these events he is having?

Thank you MSNBC for mentioning his name but the more the merrier. Please give him just as much time as you do with Hilary, Rudy, or other "Front runners"
"Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers."  ** At a rally for Giuliani **  I think most people didn't catch that, Ron Pauls supporters outmatched Giuliani's Rally....

Obviously Ron Paul Rally's usually draw 5,000 - 10,000 (but this article was talking about Paul and Kucinich supporters at a giuliani rally).
I think they mean that at Giuliani's events, there are as many Ron Paul supporters present as their are Giuliani supporters.  Which is awesome!
Lets bake a cake:  Giuliani for the fruit.  Huckabee for the nuts.  Ron Paul for the YEAST!  Ron Paul or Dennis, or better yet, running together.  Thrown the bums out!!!
FZAPPA said:

Not exactly correct, see
http://www.rudygiulianiforum.com/
Giuliani is the media's darling. Have you seen his 10 commitments? Check out his website, he says he wants to lower taxes, but then says he wants to form all these new agencies to make sure things happen!? Can we trust the guy that really did nothing but take the credit for and spin the 9/11 response in NYC. Please!!

Ron Paul wants everyone to have equality and success. But doesn't think the gov should prefer one person or class or industry over the others (by not interfering with any of them). Think for yourself, don't let the media do it for you. Vote for FREEDOM! Ron Paul!
Interesting how MSNBC and other news outlets report on the amazing Ron Paul campaign Rally crowds on their websites (grudgingly), but fail to give the proportionate coverage on their broadcast outlets! I swear my rubber TV brick is rubbing smooth from every time I see rudy talking to a crowd of 30 or so people in a coffee house (half of which are paid staffers) while Ron Paul is speaking to hundreds or thousands in the same town, with no coverage whatsoever.

Here's a clue to all you Journalism School wonders: large crowds indicate large grassroots support! Not only that, those are the type of people that are motivated to go and VOTE- not the geriatric Bush supporters that Pollsters like Frank Luntz are so fond of calling and aasking for an 'unbiased opinion'. The paradigm has shifted, and technology and voter attitudes have far outstripped the pace at which the 'old media' is able to cover it. Get on the bus in the 21st century, abandon those outmoded polls that have failed you in the last twoPresidential Elections and COVER THE CANDIDATES< THIER MESSAGE AND THEIR SUPPORTERS! People could care less who the talking heads at the roundtable think is moving up or down 3 points- they want to hire a man for the job as President- not elect the next 'American Political Idol'! WHen you interview a person for a job, you don't go around the office and ask everybody what they think of the guy (especially if you won't allow them to hear where he stands on anything!). You ask pointed, insightful questions about what his record is, what he wants to do and how he will do it. And asking a Presidential Candidate where he stands on Abortion, Gay Marriage and other issues that the President has little influence on is like asking a mayoral candidate how he feels about pollution in China. I'm sure he'll give you an opinion, but he has no power to influence that subject at all! Stick to the facts. Cover the issues. Leave the beauty contest to American Idol, Miss America and, well the Political Team at FOX News. We'll all be better off for it.
Even out here in fly-over land, the numbers of Ron Paul supporters that show up at a Guiliani event outnumber the Guiliani supporters.  And only now the press is noticing?

It would be a front-page above-the-fold 72 point headline if it were the other way 'round.
What's with this "almost seem to match" nonsense?
Have you ever seen a Ron Paul rally?
Don Jen,

He meant that Ron Paul had an equal number of supporters at RUDY'S fundraiser.  Which makes it even more hilarious.

Go Ron!
