Rudy camp ramps up

Posted: Saturday, November 24, 2007 10:34 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ’s Matthew Berger
ON THE GIULIANI CAMPAIGN BUS
NASHUA, N.H. - There is a noticeable difference between the Giuliani campaign with a bus and the same campaign without one. For several months, we’ve essentially been flying by the seat of our pants. Schedules got changed at the last second and the national media almost seemed like an afterthought as the campaign scheduled rallies around their hefty fundraising schedule.

But today’s events have a whole new dynamic. In addition to the wireless Internet-capable bus and the campaign-high seven events in one day, we were given a thorough schedule of the day in the morning, and instructions before every stop as to where to stand. Campaign surrogates like former Massachusetts Gov. Paul Cellucci and Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta have come to talk strategy or policy. And even Giuliani himself delivered Thanksgiving cake to the hungry press corps.

The numbers of reporters have ballooned. In addition to the regulars, all of the New York City tabloids are here, as are several national newspaper chains and numerous still photographers. Even Australian and Danish press made a cameo. For a campaign that never had a formal launch, this weekend almost seems like an unveiling.

The crowds, however, don’t seem to have gotten the message. A rally for Giuliani in front of Manchester City Hall garnered only a few dozen supporters. Backers of Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich almost seemed to match them in numbers. Giuliani generates healthy crowds at town hall meetings, but they are not all loyalists. When it comes to rallies and events where partisans are expected in droves, Giuliani’s crowds disappoint. And the mainstream media has started to notice.

Rudy can't distinguish himself from Hillary, why should we prefer the Republican version of a Democrat?
Ron Paul gets far more people than the Ghoul in NH and everywhere. The press just doesn't want to publicize that fact!
People are starting to pick their candidate, Rudy will look less front runner and more like a shadow of Georgie Bush, He has very little for people to latch on to because he is so stuck at proving himself to the electorate. Rudy is running because he is Rudy, it does not seem that he has gotten past that!
Well, Rudy...I hope you're starting to get the message!!! This nation needs a 'statesman', not a wanna be 'tough-guy'!!!
Rudy only attracts several dozens of supporters?
Supporters of Paul only seem to match?

This is terrible journalism. Did you do ANY reasearch into the size of Paul's rallys before you wrote this? Paul has the largest rallys of any candidate. In the last few weeks he had 5,000 people in philly, 1,500 in vegas, and about 1000 in Florida.  Seems like more then a few dozen to me.
To NBC and MSNBC and all major media:

"We The People" are in control now! Your words mean nothing anymore! Your RP lie's and attacks ain't working. Blowback Indeed!
>>>To the person who said there isn't a Rudy forum, yes there is http://www.rudygiulianiforum.com<<<,

Your right! But theres only 29 members. That's about the same amount of people at Rudys Rallies! LMAO!!!!!
Italians for Ron Paul
I checked out the so-called Giuliani forum.  What a joke!  Ron Paul supporters are banned because Ron is against "Authority".  Well, we certainly need someone to expose Rudy's fraud, hypocrisy and fascism.  Electing Giuliani would be perhaps the biggest blunder in U.S. history.
Yard sales for Ron Paul...spread the message and sell what you don't need. Ebay is your friend too,  include fliers or DVD's with info on Paul on everything you sell.
Go to these Giuliani events. Hand out DVDs to any Giuliani supporters you can find (if any!) with youtubes from therealrudy.org and turn them into Ron Paul supporters.

Every time I see a car with a Rudy sticker (only seen one so far) I intend to leave a DVD on their windshield.
I am watching Meet The Press this morning, right now in fact, and was disgusted to see that Ron Paul is never mentioned when they show poll numbers onscreen for the Republicans..then when I visited the Meet the Press website and noticed that the program is sponsored by Boeing....guess that fact says it all. Tim Russsert and  MSNBC have a zero trust factor with me anymore. They can no longer be trusted. But perhaps they never could be trusted and I just never noticed until I became a Ron Paul supporter. Lord those corporate toads must be terrified of this man. I wont be watching that fake news program anymore as they are just like FOX news in my book.
"9/11, terrorism, 9/11 (I was running away), Islamofascism, bad firemens' radios, 9/11 and 9/11.  Did I mention 9/11 - that I was there (running away)?"

Love,
Rudy
Yeah, it was a sad rally for Rudy.
I was one of the Kucinich folks there.
When Rudy bashed major Democrats saying "hillary, obama and Edwards will raise your taxes" (which is true) he then said "oh and i see some Dennis Kucinich signs here too, your taxes will go up with him too"
NOT true, Dennis will shift the tax burden from the middle class and the poor onto those who can afford it... the filthy rich.
So i yelled out to him "What about the Military Budget?!" When one of his fat old Henchmen with a comb over, turned to me and spat "Shutup and sit down boy!"...... I smiled and said, "Freedome of speech"
We at least we know where Rudy stands on personal freedome...
HERES a little perspective...

much like campaigns,

If your favorite rock band was coming to town to play a free concert and no one shows....

what makes you think they will hit the stores when the album comes out?
It's about time the lame stream media focuses on something other than the skewed polls. Yes, attendances at rallies - people voting with their feet. My goodness, did you see the videos of Ron Paul's appearance at ULV in Las Vegas? Drawing comparisons between indicators of popularity other than the polls would be most helpful and worthy of independent journalism.
How much do I get paid if I show up for Guliani?

I think I'll pass and support Ron Paul.

A Ron Paul blimp coming soon.....

RonPaulBlimp(dot)com......
Montanaro:  I had given up on MSNBC until you starting working there. You haven't been swayed by the big media machine yet. I think the headline of this story should have been "Giuliani crowds disappoint", but that is my opinion.  I have several questions for you though. Why is the main stream media really so scared of Ron Paul? Is it because he attracts so many people from various backgrounds? Is it because he will not take donations from big corporations, and only from Individuals? Is it because he does not flip-flop on the issues and stands firm with the Constitution? Is it because he wants to go to a limited federal government, tax reductions, and get rid of unnecessary government waste and spending?  I am sad to see what our Country has become, it hurts down to the core of my soul.  I am ex-military, and I know we do not have to nuke any countries as one person mentioned earlier in his comment in order to deal with terrorists, that statement alone showed some ignorance to say the least, but then again he was the ONLY Giuliani supporter on this comment section. I would like to see some positive reporting and not so much trash on all the candidates.  I would love to see some reporting on RON PAUL period, do you think MSNBC has the strength to stand up and actually report anything on him that doesn't start with Longshot, or underdog as most of the main stream media does?  If not I understand, you Mr. Montarano can only do as you are told by the company that pays your paycheck, and if that is the case true journalism is something of the past, and I will rest my case.  I will take this opportunity to thank MSNBC for any coverage that is given to the only candidate that has the heart of America is behind, and that would be RON PAUL. Oh you can email me with your answers if you like.
There aren't even Giuliani supporters showing up on the internet...
We had a Ron Paul rally in Clearwater FL and had over 500 people and Ron Paul wasn't even there!
Several observations:
I was at the Clearwater, Fla. rally for Ron Paul on Nov 17th; about 500 people there.  I haven't met anyone who supports Giuliani.  A local TV show in Tampa, Fla. this morning had some CNN analyst John(?) King on, saying that Giuliani was the frontrunner in Florida.  Say what? Again, I haven't met a single Giuliani supporter.  There are 5 people in my apartment complex with Ron Paul bumper stickers . . . not a single one for any other candidate. There are something like a dozen Ron Paul meetup groups in the greater Tampa Bay area.

Conclusion:  The support for Ron Paul is much, much greater than most people, and virtually all the MSM pundits are willing to acknowledge.  The only question is, is it great enough to propel Paul to the Republican nomination?  The only answer is, since the grassroots movement for Ron Paul (largely) got him to where he is now, only the grassroots efforts and fundraising can get him the nomination.  If you support freedom, then get involved as much in the Ron Paul campaign as you can.
Rudy says, "but on 9/11, 9/11 did, 9/11 is, I lived 9/11..."
I popped over to the Giuliani forum and discoverd some remarkable statistics.

Wow! That's a rock solid grassroots organization.
Maybe Ron Paul should give ole' Rudy a call to find out how to attract so many supporters. It could boost him into "Top Tier" status.(This post was entirely sarcastic).
Oh, one more thing. You gotta love that 911 graphic. It aptly shows shows Guiliani's entire repertoire.

Those polls are the biggest joke played on the American viewing audience.  People are finally seeing through all this now.  We're sick of these cookie-cutter candidates being shoved down our throat.  They don't have any real support out there.  Their support is the media playing video footage of them ad nauseum in an attempt to get the average person to think only this guy has a chance to win...after all he's the only one on tv.

More and more people are seeing through this charade everyday.  The American people will speak Dec 16th with generous donations to Dr. Paul and it will indeed be a glorious day for all of us!
I think I've cracked the case! The polls are polling reporters! Obviously, the polls are accurate of the media but not the people. This must be it! lol
Guiliani still claims we were attacked because of our freedoms, he supports everything Bush is doing and the American voters want no part of. He uses fear and 911 as if some of the most respected people of all fields and military aren't demanding a true investigation for all of the attacks that took place on his and Bushes watch. Hell, I want to know what happened to the 2.3 Trillion dollars Rumsfeld department and responsibility the Pentagon, claimed it could not account for on 9/10/2001.
Freefall collapse of steel frame buildings is a signature of Controlled Demolitions, pulverized rubble in it's footprint or basement is not only another signature, it's the goal. Guiliani's is Denying having admitted being warned ahead of time the tower was going to collapse in a television interview he made, is cause for a murder investigation.
Ron Paul will restore our Consitution and Bill of Rights. He will protect our liberties, if he is not our next President who will? The Media liars and their front runners?
The Mainstream Media are very slow learners. I went to a Ron Paul rally in Pittsburgh, Pa a few months back and the hotel had to keep sliding the partitions
to fit the crowd in. Easily over a 1000 people attended. This goes on all over the country but means nothing to the MSM folks. It doesn't matter.

Voters are just starting to study their options and they will be using the internet as they never used it before.  They will observe the hundreds of Ron Paul videos and thousands of typed articles on Ron Paul.

The voters will have to weigh how many more billions
to send over seas to fullfill Rudi's, McCain's, Romney's, Thompson's, and Huckabee's NEOCON dream.
It will dawn on the voter, money spent on this nightmare could have been used for bridges, sewers,
water, schools, and highways. They will connect the dots.

The difference this time is, any piece going negative
on the good Dr Paul will have to pass scrutiny from
a thousand rebuttals. The MSM having final say on how a candidate is portrayed is over.

MSNBC and the rest of them are dragging their heels facing this new reality because they are becoming just one of a thousand interpreting this 2008 campaign.

I urge all Ron Paul supporters to attend the opponents
events with signs in hand.

Ron Paul 2008
9/11. Didnt you know 9/11 that Rudy survived 9/11. 9/11 changed 9/11 and 9/11 is 9/11. 9/11. Terrorist. Terrorist.

Im Rudy. And Im 9/11 running for 9/11. (terrorist)
Ron Paul is the only hope this country has left. Otherwise, we are going down in more than one way.
Do they serve cool aid at the Ron Paul rallies? Where did these people crawl out from? Are they really Republicans? If Ron Paul truly had a wide following, it would show up in the polls. Just because a candidate has rabid followers, it doesn't mean he deserves more media attention (other than to note that fact).  If you think he's got a chance of getting the Republican nomination, you are either delusional or smoking something illegal.
okay, that Giuliana forum is supposed to be a joke, right?  I'm scared if it isn't with posts like this one......

Rudy discusses cancer and the effect it has had on his family and the rest of society. Rudy says he'll find the cancer cure by 2015. I think it's possible. With Rudy anything is possible.

Dear Journalists,

Do you not realize that Ron Paul is in your best interest, too? He will protect the Freedom of the Press. He will protect the Freedom of the Internet. He will protect the value of your own paychecks with sound money policy. He will protect your family by strengthening our national defenses instead of weakening them by sending our military, national guard and reservists over seas. He will protect your own (grand)children by not sending them into needless aggressive wars. And on and on the arguments could go.

You are supposedly "in the know" but the reverse seems true; you are clueless as to the major shift that is happening within the electorate. Either that or you are writing to try to please a corporate master for a dishonest paycheck. Either way, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

You finally get a candidate that will thoughtfully and honestly answer your questions without trying to sidestep them with hollow rhetoric or blatantly misleading sound bites and you try to ignore, marginalize, or even smear him. Do you liked being used and lied to by "the front runners"? You remind me of a beaten girlfriend who keeps going back for more abuse when the best man you could ever hope for is courting you with conviction for a better future.

Should America become a dictatorial police state, guess what kind of position you will be in as a journalist? You will either be a traitor to your country by cooperating with the Constitutional abuses, you will be imprisoned, or you will be dead. Read some history and wake up to the facts. Your fates will not be positive.

You appear to be blind, deaf and dumb to your own best interests. It is a shame to behold. Please, as individuals, take stock of yourselves and then do what is right. Tell the truth as it is, not as your boss tells you it should be. A clear conscience is more valuable than blood money - especially when that fiat money is fast becoming worthless anyway.

Ron Paul is not perfect but is the best this country has to offer at this time. And that's the truth.

Respectfully,

J. Franklin

Finally, some honesty in reporting. Duh! The ONLY candidate with LOTS of REAL UNPAID PEOPLE at EVERY event is Ron Paul. Gee, wonder why? I'm looking at the MNSBC political calendar feature on this page and I see NO MENTION of Ron Paul? But I see tons of mentions of other candidates. What's the story there? No mention of Paul's events on Nov. 26 or 27 in South Carolina. By the way, here's a hot story: the founder of the Obama organization in Los Angeles, Marc Whittaker, just publicly switched his support to Ron Paul at www.obamala.org. Here's his mass e-mail to 2,500 Obama supporters in L.A.: My name is Marc Whittemore. I started the original grassroots group ObamaLA and carried it until it was 2,500 people strong. Having done substancially more homework now I am inclined to switch my vote.

Make no mistake about it -- I think Obama would make an AWESOME President -- far better than any other stale "part of the problem" Democrat running. However. In case you have not noticed America is picking up "flush momentum" and going down the tubes FAST. We no longer have time for rehersals or inexperience. We MUST get it right and get it right this time. We don't even have the luxury of voting along party lines if we are to get it right.

And so. Even more surprising is that for the first time in my 32 years of voting I will be voting for a Republican president. And that Republican is Ron Paul. Listen people. And take the time to listen CLOSELY to Ron Paul -- because, like the last, we can ill afford one more drastic idiot mistake in the White House. Lives depend on making the right choice -- indeed our entire nation depends on the right choice this time.

Sincerely,
Marc Whittemore
Los Angeles, CA
Ron Paul supporters are so inspired, so passionate, and growing in number every day.  I understand that not everyone will resonate with Ron Paul's stands, but those that do are thrilled to the bone to have someone of honesty and integrity to be FOR instead of having to choose the lesser of the evils.  An actual candidate who says what he believes!  And the more that people read about him, hear about him from friends and family members, the more people see that, indeed, there is hope for this country, for individual liberties, for hard earned dollars.  Rudy=ripoff; Ron=restore the Constitution!!
Giuliani needs to just hang it up , his views don't differentiate himself from any of the pack ... Hell , him and Hilary are pretty much the same on the issues ... so where's the choice ? ? ?

People are sick and tired of hearing war war war , terror terror terror , and rudy 9/11 9/11 9/11 ---

Somehow the mainstream media began to think people don't have choices and are idiots to all of this ...

Hence Ron Paul Supporters and Kucinich supporters come out in droves because we care about their messages ... and are sicked of the rubber stamp poltics we get every election cycle ...

Ron Paul is my guy , and I would write in Mickey Mouse before I even considered voting for Rudy or any of the "Front-Running" Neo-cons from both parties .
Wow! The support for Ron Paul is restoring my hope toward many republicans. Face it some big time republicans have been toying the legal system and protecting criminal behavior from within its highest ranks. It will be from within the GOP's own party is how the GOP will be saved. Even if they steal another election (caging, phone jamming, redistricting, etc) Ron Paul supporters show that many common republicans do not want the GOP to be the torture party. They are not Fox News dumbed downers.
God Bless all of them!

A challenge to would be journalist and news reporter: Who among you wants to get caught reporting on a dud like Giuliani versus or next president Ron Paul???? Where are your news hound noses?
Rudy is a pompous ass on a good day. A fascist flip flopping Neo-con Republocrat on an average day. GW Bush in a dress with a different accent.
You made Rudy the frontrunner mainstream media, now go ahead and explain why Ron Paul draws thousands and Rudy can't draw squat...go ahead.  Aww don't bother we all know it has to do with honesty, consistency and a grasp of the Constitution.  Oh yeah I think Ron Paul actually read the 9/11 report too...Rudy is exactly what we don't need. The public knows it that's why despite the media cheerleading his poll numbers are dropping...people have figured out there are better options....none of them are named Mitt, Fred, Mike or John though.
GOOGLE Ron Paul for president 2008.
It's time we elected somebody honest for a change.
It's about time the MSM started noticing and reporting on things that matter to us, the viewing public.  They are mostly irrelevant lately and that is reflected in viewer poll numbers.  Many people, like myself, now get all of our news on the internet.  Until the MSM clues up and does real reporting and stops clinging to their corporate mega-big-business mindset, they will continue to drop and eventually tank in the ratings.
Giuliani is the biggest liar and worst opportunist scumbag in the presidential race. He is someone that has repeatedly and continually used the memory of a horrible tragedy to further his career.

Probably the worst was his testimony to the 9/11 Comission, It was complete trash, ask the New York Firefighters and the Police about it. They hate his guts.

I don't trust Rudy at all and I don't think major media outlets have done the homework on him.  All they've got currently is that Regan/Kerik thing and trust me there is more slime around Rudy than what's being reported.
GO RUDY GO RUDY GO RUDY

American hero Mayor Rudy Giuliani will kill the terrorists, rape their women, and eat their children. He defeated the terrorists on 9/11 and because of his personal involvement in 9/11 he has seething rage toward the terrorists and will avenge 9/11.

GO RUDY GO RUDY GO RUDY

9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11
Giuliani is the media candidate.  You little people should not be questioning Chris Wallace's choice for your leader.  Do you really think you are qualified to choose for yourselves?  Get real.  Get TV.  Get Network TV.
Achilles had his heel... the corporate interests and international bankers have the internet.

Sorry, boys... the cat's outta the bag... you can't put the genie back in the bottle.

Ron Paul is the FAVORITE in 2008.

It's so obvious, it's funny.
I keep seeing articles and talk shows -- HELLO, MEET THE PRESS!!! --which mention and discuss Giuliani, Thompson, Huckabee, McCain and Romney, but which ignore Ron Paul.  This is disgraceful.

As mentioned in this article, Ron Paul outdraws the other candidates at rallies.  Ron Paul wins more straw polls than any of them.  Ron Paul outpolls some of those candidates in key primary states.  Ron Paul outfundraises some of those guys.  Ron Paul has massively more grassroots support than all of the others combined.  Just look at the MeetUp groups numbers, for starters.

Ralph Nader never had a fraction of the support that Ron Paul has and yet the media fawned over Nader and are dutifully smearing or ignoring Ron Paul.

The U.S. goes around the world imposing "democracy" on nations that don't even seem to want it and yet we can't get it right here.  Shameful.

What happened to honest journalism?  At least this article is a tiny crumb of honesty in a garbage heap of disinformation.  Thank you for that much.  Please, sir, may I have some more?
Wow!! Thanks for posting the Guiliani Forums.  They have a total of 40 members...  one of those active was the 'admin'.
I am a Republican , and I support Ron Paul.  We need to support the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Rule of Law.  No secret prisons and torture. Defend the US Dollar. Liberty is what our country was founded on!

J. Franklin's excellent post above reminded me of this quote from Samuel Adams:

"If you love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom -- go from us in peace.  We ask not your counsels or arms.  Crouch down and lick the hand which feeds you.  May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
Finally someone to show us Canadians what being American is really about. A down to earth candidate who CAMPAIGNS and VOTES not on whim or popular opinion but rather on conviction and with consistency. Compare his record. Consider the future. Vote Ron Paul!!
