Edwards home-heating plan

EDWARDS WEEKEND CAMPAIGN NOTEBOOK

ROCHESTER, N.H. -- Edwards unveiled his plan to make home heating available to more Americans at The Governors Inn here this afternoon. After an introduction from freshman Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, Edwards lamented the rising cost of heating homes during the Bush administration and then laid out his four-point plan to combat the problem.

“One is, you know we have an oil reserve that the country maintains which the president can release from,” he said, “and my view is the president should, given the high cost of home heating oil.”

The other three points are to fully fund the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, double assistance for national weatherization programs and offer low-interest loans to families making the choice that otherwise might put heating cost on high-interest credit cards. Following his stump speech, during which he waxed nostalgic about the World War II generation and called for universal health care, Edwards fielded questions on free trade agreements, the people he would appoint to the Cabinet as president, how he would reduce the Pentagon budget and how he would reduce poverty.

It's about time somebody with caliber like John Edwards addresses the need to check these high-rolling oil companies and help lessen the load as far has heating oil costs, and oil in general.

He keeps proving to me why he's my choice for president.
More from the ultra rich populist candidate Anytime you want to spend your money buying fuel oil for people too dumb to move from cold locations knock yourselves out.
This on the heels of San Fransicko looking into banning fireplaces. Edwards and his liberal friends burn $50 bills to stay warm. The rest of us are supposed to shiver.
An Jerry from Corpus Christi - where do you live?  You live in a flood and storm area... where air conditioners run on.  When global warming comes and destroys your home we will all sit back and send nothing - we will wonder why you lived there when you could have moved.  The cost is $1000 for one tank of heating oil while we fund a a billion a month an oil occupation where our military is guarding the oil fields of Iraq.  Get a brain and install it where that shellfish, er, I mean selfish pea is sitting.  I suppose you go to church and know all the words as well.  Gag it if you do.  Jesus fed the masses with fishes and loaves - he was a caring, progressive leader and preached the same.

Go John Edwards.  It's about time this profiteering and a solution was on the lips of someone in a position to do something.  It's like they're all asleep down there - warm and without children I guess.
"Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power” - Mussolini

If America is to be saved from the fascists, and I'm not sure it is, Edwards is the one candidate who can do it. The other candidates are more of the same.

Either that or we can all move to Jerry's house in tropical Texas and work for $3/hr.
So, I am too dumb to move to texas where the weather is fine, schools are perfect, crime is non-existent and everyone loves each other. Jerry do you use energy to cool your home in the summer, perhaps we should become a nomadic society, texas in the winter PA in the summer. Helping people, other americans, seems to jerry to be anti-american, too bad he thinks corporate welfare is good for our nation. We live here because we grew up and love where we are at. Jerry why don't you move to an island where you can be the great white king and then you will have your perfect life that all you crazy nativists believe will happen when you get the rest of america to move out of your country.
Chris, Brattleboro, VT: Jesus fed the masses with fishes and loaves - he was a caring, progressive leader and preached the same.

That's right! Jesus is the answer. He can make more oil. And if he's not available, John Edwards can do it. Hillary is out though, she's aligned with Satan.
John Alexander;, I couldn't have put it better.
John Alexander, Edinboro, PA --- So, I am too dumb to move to texas where the weather is fine, schools are perfect, crime is non-existent and everyone loves each other.

Apparently you are too dumb.
