Hillary picks up more endorsements

Posted: Monday, November 26, 2007 2:26 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Christina Jamison, Mark Murray and NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
CONCORD, NH -- Arriving nearly an hour late due to weather conditions, Hillary Clinton accepted the endorsement of New Hampshire's first lady, Susan Lynch.

Lynch said with the exception of her husband, she rarely publicly gets into politics. But, she added, "Hillary and I share a lifelong commitment for fighting for a very important goal, and that is health care for children and families. And I believe Hillary is the candidate who can finally succeed in this area."

Clinton cited Lynch's experience as a pediatrician and praised her for her work to promote health care and prevent childhood obesity. "It's really time to promote prevention and that's what Susan has talked about."

Gov. John Lynch (D), who was re-elected last November with a whopping 74% of the vote, will remain neutral in the primary race. "He respects [his wife's] decision to endorse, but the governor will remain neutral," said Colin Manning, the governor's press secretary. "He is focused on being a good host for the primary."

Also today, Clinton picked up the endorsement of Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette (D), who has become the House Democrats' point person on embryonic stem-cell research. "Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience we need in the next president of the United States," DeGette said in a statement. "Under her leadership, we will finally provide quality, affordable health care for every American. These challenging times call for a leader with Hillary Clinton's ability to hit the ground running on her first day in the White House."

More goofy women for Hillary......

I'm glad people in the northeast want to be forced at gunpoint to pick either buying groceries or pay for medical coverage.

I don't think the rest of the country is ready for that.

Can you imagine such a thing?
Howard Dean had lots of endorsements too.
Two big no-name endorsements... another sign that Hillary Clinton's "unstoppable political machine" is CRUMBLING.

She wants to mandate (i.e. FORCE) health care.  Obama wants to allow CHOICE.  Put the PEOPLE back in government!  It's NOT people for the government, by the government.  It's a government FOR the people, BY the people.
Barack Obama '08!
The governor's wife doesn't count since she hasn't hold any political office. Beside, the governor's wife is not that popular.

The last time i checked, Senator Tom Hakim's wife endorse Hillary but quit her campaign few months later. We'd see what happen once Hillary is expose.
geez, forced to buy health care, just like auto insurance...

Here is another woe for Hillary Clinton's camp that likes talking about Poll.

Bee:

First of all, his name is Senator Tom HARKIN.  H-A-R-K-I-N.  Harkin.

Second, I thought you said all endorsements were meaningless several weeks back.  Why is it then that you only repeat that mantra when Hillary gets an endorsement, and not when Obama or Edwards do?

After hearing her sing the national anthem, I shudder at her doing the rebel yell like Howie did LOL.

I read a lot of people thinking of leaving Mass. due to the inability of paying for forced health insurance.....

This is from the CBS news website from a few months ago....

Mass. Health Care Plan Moving Forward
Uninsured Massachusetts residents could get health coverage for as little as $175 per month

BOSTON, Mar. 4, 2007
By STEVE LeBLANC Associated Press Writer
(AP)

(AP) The average uninsured Massachusetts resident could obtain health care coverage for as little as $175 a month under the state's insurance law, less than half of earlier estimates, officials said Saturday.

The plans are a critical piece of the state's landmark insurance initiative, which requires all state residents to have health coverage by July 1 or face tax penalties. Some insurers had suggested earlier that the premium would be $380 a month.

"This is a big improvement from the first round of bids and a big step forward for health care reform," Gov. Deval Patrick said as he released the results of negotiations with health insurers in the state. "The health security that was the point of health care reform will be delivered at an affordable price."

The panel charged with overseeing the law is expected to give its seal of approval Wednesday to the seven health care plans that met the affordability goals. On March 20, the board is scheduled to vote on whether the insurers will be able to offer lower cost versions without drug coverage.

The minimum plan detailed by Patrick would cover the average uninsured Massachusetts resident, who is typically around 37 years old. It includes prescription drug coverage and covers basic medical care, such as emergency room visits and outpatient medical care.

Lower cost plans would be available to young adults. Prices would also rise and fall depending on the age of the person seeking insurance and where they live.

The plans must include coverage for preventive doctor visits and an out-of-pocket limit, after which the plan would pay everything else, said the board's executive director, Jon Kingsdale. They must also include coverage for emergencies, mental health, substance abuse, rehabilitation, hospice and vision.

So if I read this right....

It will cost $175 to $380 per month for health insurance for people who don't have health insurance.

That means either people are going to have to pay a lot more in salary for people to afford this insurance or they will have to leave the state.

I wonder what the deductables will be?

For those of you who have yet to look at the details of Hillary Clinton's heath care plan, here it is in a nut shell:

1. Affordable: Unlike the current health system where insurance premiums send people into bankruptcy, the plan provides tax credits for working families to help them cover their costs. The tax credits will ensure that working families never have to pay more than a limited percentage of their income for health care.

2. Available: No discrimination. The insurance companies can't deny you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition.

3. Reliable: It's portable. If you change or lose your job, you keep your health care.

It is a very thoughtful plan and leaves no one behind.

That has to be the funniest and most ironic tactic Hillary Clinton has tried in AT LEAST a week or two.  She actually has the gual to question Obama over CAMPAIGN FINANCE?  After she accepts $800,000 from a Chinese nationalist, tens of thousands of dollars from Chinese people with minimum wage jobs... Grasping for straws.  She really is headed down.  This is just more proof.  She stands no chance.  Remember what Hillary said in the debate? "They aren't attacking me because I'm a woman, they're attacking me because I'm ahead?"  Well, why is she attacking Obama all of a sudden?  With a largely unfounded accusation at that... what a mud-slinger.  Obama didn't attack Hillary one bit personally when each of her campaign finance scandals hit.  Now, she actually posts the story on her website?  How sick.

Real change!  Better America!

People who endorse Hillary at this point are going to look like fools. Just because the Dem establishment likes Hillary doesn't mean that the voters want her.
Yes indeed it's true, Washington Post article today, about Obama campaign finance practices. Just take a look hillaryclinton.com under press release or Washington Post Web site.
Why doesn't First Read cover the news that Hillary is losing to every major Republican in projected head to head matchups in the new Zogby poll?  I saw it on Yahoo but not on MSNBC. You can't not report the news anymore because someone else will.
Now Obama spokesman Bill Burton has responded [to the wildly unfounded accusation of violating FEC laws] with this:
"
Whatever happened to the confident frontrunner who said she wouldn’t attack other Democrats just two weeks ago? The latest personal attack from Hillary Clinton is a completely false attempt to misrepresent Barack Obama’s full disclosure of his campaign finances. Senator Obama's commitment to disclosure is one that Hillary Clinton does not share, and until Senator Clinton is willing to make this commitment -- by disclosing her White House records, the list of donors to her husband’s presidential library, how much her bundlers raise, and releasing her personal tax returns to the public -- she’s not really in a position to point fingers at others."
I'm interested in seeing who Kerry, Gore and Kennedy will endorse.

Bee, you know anyone in NH? Lynch pulled 74% of the vote, and if you think his wife didn't have a lot to
do with that you're really in BarakcandyLand.

Both Barak and Edwards were fighting for her endorsement, given that Lynch said 6 months ago he wouldn't be endorsing anyone in the primary.

His wife's endorsement mean a lot.

As an edwards fan, i'm disappointed but not surprized as a Barak fan you ought to feel the cold slap of water in your face.
In NH, Her endorsement means more that a Gore or Kerry endorsement...
It's bad news for barak
#### B R E A K I N G  NEWS ####

Is this the dirt Clinton had on Obama as reported by Novak last week that the Clinton camp supposedly denied?  That Mrs. Clinton was hoisted onto a high horse, because she was too good to release said information.  Well, I guess she is all too eager now.  Her inevitability bubble has popped, her poll numbers are sliding, and she has embraced mudslinging like none of the other 'guys' before.  How disgraceful.  I'd personally like to vote for a President I could respect.

Sure, if it comes by naturally take it and run with it, whatever.  But you guys are actually heralding this news, and it is shameful to be so eager to have something negative on an opponent.  But I guess that's what makes many of H.R. Clinton's supporters more partisan than those of other candidates.

Bee, since you have all the answers:

Where are Obama’s records from his time in the IL state legislature and why was he able to purchase his home in Chicago at $100,000 below the market value?

Jerry – Last time I checked, Colorado was not a NE state.
From another poster:

The hit on Obama came from John Solomon. Solomon's low standards are well known to the serious junkies who frequent this site, but he's outdone even FoxNews. As FoxNews reported -- eleven days ago:

The [Obama Hopefund] PAC also contributed $1,000 each to Sens. Iris Estabrook, Kathleen Sgambati and Lou D'Allesandro, all of whom later endorsed Hillary Rodham Clinton. The PAC gave $6,000 to Gov. John Lynch's campaign war chest; Lynch has not endorsed in the presidential contest.

This did not fit Solomon's bribe theme. One other point: Solomon usually at least does his own leg work. But every fact in Solomon's piece could be found in Obama's own public disclosures. So Hillary's claim he's not being transparent is bunk. No surprise there.

Daniel,
Those "match up" poles have always been poor predictors of the actual election. They had Paul Tsongas doing better then Clinton (and I was a bit Paul Tsongas fan) in then general election - and yet Clinton didn't have a problem. They also had Dole doing better then Geo HW Bush in the 88 race.
If you've never lived in a country that has universal health coverage then you should keep your big mouth shut. I live in Mexico which is a poor country but they provide health care to almost everyone. Yes, there are lines and you have to wait but that is because of their tight budget. In the U.S. it would be much better organized and financed. You can call it socialized or whatever you want but it works. You are forced to have car insurance so what the hell is the difference. Lighten up and listen to the arguments and not to your own prejudices.
I am willing to if you are willing to, but do Edwards and Clinton supporters really want to debate about anything regarding campaign finances? I mean really? Just let me know............waiting...
looks like edwards is the only clean candidate afterall, he's also the only one that can win the general election.

after weeks of hillary condemning the other candidates for negativity look who has the market cornered on mud slingery now, none other than the media's illustrious hillary rodham clinton, looks like the clinton juggernaut is for not, you go girl, you go back to wince you came, this deal is so hillary, a more dishonest, two faced person you will not find
$$$$$$ OBAMA CAMPAIGN FINANCE PRACTICES  $$$$$$$ SEE TODAYS WASHINGTON POST ARTICLE OR GO TO hillaryclinton.com, press release

Don't need to read about it, just ask me. I still work in Massachusetts, but live in New Hampshire. Massachusetts taxes/fees will eat you alive. Much cheaper, even with the gas prices, to commute. I make sure to buy my gas in New Hampshire too, the state gas tax is much less then in Massachusetts.
Now let me watch the obamanites and the clintonist fight over this article from Washington post. I have to caramel pop corn and cranberry juice, it promised to be fun.
hey jerry s from dayton: do you find it as amusing as i do that first read neglects to report such negative facts about obama? if that was hillary, they would be jumping all over that! I wonder why they don't report the fact that obama has missed almost twice as many votes this year as hillary has. and now that these "politics of hope" supporters see her campaign picking up endorsement after endorsement -not because she bought the endorsements like obama, but because people actually believe she will be the leader we need -and all they can do is attack the endorsers! Also chs, IL you raise one of the most valid arguements of this campaign..Obama's records from Illinois and the fact that he purchased his house from a convicted felon that supported his campaign! Instead of answering the charges all they can do is bring up "whitewater"- a real estate deal that the clintons lost $200,000 on, or the fact that former President Clinton wants to keep her white house papers from the press, something that she has absolutely no control over. Keep hoping Obamaniacs! Iowa is about as significant in the political process as a snowflake is in a blizzard. I can't remember even the last time a winning president ever even campaigned in the state.
Ron, get a life hillary will be the next president, Obama can't carry the rest of the country, and Jerry, "goofy women" I guess you don't know much about women and how much stronger they can be. Some of would actually take offence as to think that our mothers or wives are goofy, I suppose you support Obama, that would explain your comment

Here is the answer to your question; Obama's state record is a property of state of Illinois. I’ll suggest you and Hillary to go to Springfield Library if you need it. Obama’s public and voting records are right in Springfield for interested party to see.

I know Press has been lazy lately and are not ready to do the research that is necessary. I’ll suggest they comb the state archives if they need any of his record.

Hillary directed Hsu to donate to NH governor --

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2007/09/26/hsu_raised_big_money_for_clinton_supporters

and many other politicians in early and key primary states. $50K to Sen. Harkin whose wife has endorsed Hillary.

Obama has done the same with his PAC - buying endorsements!!

John Edwards will be a great President!

Please stop buying into Clinton's talking point. I live in NH and i know what i am talking about. Governor Lynch's wife is not as popular as John Lynch.

I'll be disturb if the Governor endorse Clinton but his wife doesn't command that much clout.
Obama says he has no Illinois Senate records!!
We don't need MORE Chicago corrupt politics in DC.

That's not much of a counter from Obama's campaign about his violating FEC laws.

BEE and Jerry:

It's not only that Ms. Lynch is New Hammpshire's First Ladt, she is a pediatrician--a doctor who treats kids!  If she backs Senator Clinton's health plan, doesn't that say a lot for health care for children, especially when the next best plan (Obama's) fails to cover 15 million folks that Clinton's plan does?

Remember, this endorsement comes from a kid's doctor.

BTW, Clinton is not yet my first choice, it's just that Jerry, Bee and Sierra are all wildly nuts against Clinton so as they are cognitively unable to be objective.

I'm willing to bet a ton that neither Jerry, Bee or Sierra can possibly go 10 days without mentioning or alluding to Senator Clinton.  Let's see some objectivity for a change.
>> and why was he [Obama] able to purchase his

Obama borrowed the money from Hillary. She made it in cattle futures trading.

Not sure where the denial is from Obama on the Campaign finances question?  Looks like he might not be answering directly.  Wow, what a surprise that a candidate won't answer a question he knows is his supporters don't want to hear.  Must be a Hillary conspiracy against Obama.  We all know Obama could never do anything wrong.

Let's all stop bashing fellow democrats!
It is comical how many posts are pointing everyone to "pacgate".  If this is all they could dig up on Barack, I guess he does have a shot to be the POTUS.
Good for her!  Two more thoughtful, respected leaders endorse Hillary Clinton for president.  She has certainly gained the respect of health care leaders across the country and her campaign is growing stronger by the day.  For the naysayers out there, I say you would be a whole lot smarter if you focused more on the issues at hand and less at leveling biased, petty personal charges.  They're certainly not doing you any good.
Jerry from Corpus:  You're an idiot.  Please quit posting your moronic opinions.  You're an embarrasment to the human race and the poster child for birth control.
Why doesn't congress just give us the same healthcare package they gave themselves?  We're forced to pay for it, you know.
Ron, TX: '...Whatever happened to the confident frontrunner who said she wouldn’t attack other Democrats just two weeks ago?...'

Clinton's supporters give themselves away...
They're scared and desparate

Notice how they tell you to go to Clinton's website FOR DIRT ??
It must be coordinated, because they all say similiar things at exactly the same time

I suspect their internal polling shows that Hillary's falling....
It would be sad if it were anybody but the Clintons  (or Bush or Cheney)
I think the Clinton camp is telegraphing their fears and desperation....
I'm DYING to see her in the next debate ;=)

C'mon Carrie, what do you think ?
Your girl is going down
And she's doing it in an ugly way
Whaddya think Carrie ?

This Story was reported like a month by the time, but no one actually paid very much attention, since it was not a Clinton scandal, Washington Post just rerun it.
Thank you
I just read the article on Fox.  Hillary just stepped in the biggest mud-hole . The Obama campaign did a comeback hit, but I am sure Obama himself will stand up in force against, once again, against Hillary who should be the last person to throw stones or is it mud? Yes, it's not wrong to snuff out someone who is actually going against the law, but what Obama has done with the PAC $ is what he has done for awhile now, prior to mentioning his presidential campaign.  She is stupid (I don't use that word often), but this will come back to haunt her.  Can she be so open as she requests from Obama? No it does not seem to be. And if voters are smart and are voting  on electability...this is just the beginning for Hillary - she will be attacked over and over again on her (and Bill's) history of finances and indiscreations... the electability factor will be down the drain.

It’s like a broken record.

Every endorsement sounds exactly like the last. Like markers are being called in, and there’s a template for ‘em  --  and god help you if you don’t insert the magic words “strength and experience”.

Talk about your exuberant spontaneity!

Lenny Bruce used to say that if a person in high public office would just repeat a word often enough (I won’t reveal the word he advanced as an example  --  look it up), that word would very quickly lose all of its meaning and emotional impact.

As witness the latest manifestation of the phenomenon ...
--NSMSNBC: '...Is this the dirt Clinton had on Obama as reported by Novak last week that the Clinton camp supposedly denied?  That Mrs. Clinton was hoisted onto a high horse, because she was too good to release said information.  Well, I guess she is all too eager now...'

I remember being scolded last week because I beleived Novack instead of Hillary !!
Who turned out honest in that dispute

'...Her inevitability bubble has popped, her poll numbers are sliding,...'

That's a relief
But, she STILL could win Iowa
I just hope voters are paying attention in Iowa and NH

'...and she has embraced mudslinging like none of the other 'guys' before...'

Sorry, --NSMSNBC but it doesn't seem like a 'stretch' for her or her campaign
Mark Penn is a Karl Rove wannabe
Can you imagine what she'd use in the General Election ?
That would leave a bitter taste in everyone's mouth
Then, try and govern ??

'...How disgraceful.  I'd personally like to vote for a President I could respect...'

It would be sweet to see Obama or Edwards get this nomination
It would be sweet to see a real reformer in office
It CAN BE DONE !!

What part of "completely false" did you not understand in Obama's statement?  Hillary just covered herself in mud.  For awhile I wasn't sure which fish she mimicked most- "A--balone" or "flounder"...

Definitely flounder.  There's no flip-flop fish, but floundering sure describes that dumb move she just tried- bringing up unsubstantiated dirt after being accused of holding unsubstantiated dirt on Obama, the fact that it's unsubstantiated dirt that highlights her own filthy dirt is just priceless!
Hillary still polling ahead of Rudy and all other GOP candidates in today's Gallup poll (www.gallup.com).

Yet another blow to the electability argument.
