Kucinich at the DNC

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
VIENNA, VA -- Arriving at the DNC Fall Meeting for the afternoon session, it is hard not to notice an absence of sorts. Driving into the Sheraton Premiere, Clinton and Edwards signs -- and no Obama signs -- line the path. At the door, Clinton supporters fight to be noticed among a lone Kucinich supporter, who wore a peace sign and attracted attention. Before any of the candidates slated to speak this afternoon (Kucinich, Biden, and Clinton), Howard Dean announced Clinton would not be addressing the DNC because of the hostage situation. The area reserved for the candidates' supporters emptied out a bit, going from a standing room only crowd to a comfortable crowd with some open seats.

Kucinich was the first presidential candidate to speak after lunch. He attempted to get as much material as possible into his 10-minute time slot. Speaking like an auctioneer, Kucinich discussed his plans for universal single-payer health care and for helping every American own a home because it is "a fundamental right in a democratic society." He took advantage of the opportunity to take a jab at Biden, saying the Delaware senator's call for Bush's impeachment if he goes to war with Iran "would be a little bit late, with all due respect."

Before ending his speech, Kucinich sent his good wishes toward Clinton and her campaign staff. "We're in solidarity with Hillary at this moment when we think about what she's going through." He then went on to express his sadness that some people can only express themselves through violence.

He sounded like an auctioneer??  Last I checked, he wasn't the one selling out our country to the highest corporate bidder.
no Obama signs because republicans weren't invited.
First Read, how about instead of posting new stories you update the comments on other threads?  It's been over 2 hours with no updates.  What gives?
I like Kucinich. He didn't cover up for Mark Foley or Randy Craig or Duke Cunningham or Abramoff He doesn't lie about torture, domestic spying, WMD or Pat Tilman's death. He's never shot someone in the face. He didn't get five deferrments(my god, what a coward) or duck out on his Guard service. And he hasn't failed for six years to get Bin Laden, "dead or alive".
Hey first read, i listened to the dnc- i heard Richardson, Edwards, Obama, Kucinich and Biden.  Now, i'm reading first read- there are notes for Richardson, Edwards, Kucinich and Biden.  Is there any particular reason why we readers aren't privy to a quick note on the Obama speech?

Just asking...
Okay, so now home ownership is a right guaranteed by the government?

Dennis, after everyone owns their own home, will a swimming pool be a fundamental right in a democratic society? Howbout a UFO ride?
It is possible that Senator Clinton is the best candidate.  However, even though any may like the policies that Senator Clinton proposes, they should also consider her record, just as Senator Clinton insists.
.
The last Clinton Administration, when faced with the fact that protection rackets where torturing people with poison and radiation, chose to avoid its responsibilities to incarcerate the criminals and to protect the citizenry.
.
Instead, they made a deal with the criminal gang stalker protection rackets to leave them alone and to consequently abandon the citizenry.
.
Do we want a President who sells out the citizenry for votes?
.
Do we want a President who sends a "crime does pay" message to society?
.
Would you vote for a President who signed nonaggression deals with the KKK or the Nazi party? Gangs that torture with poison and radiation are much like the KKK and Nazi Party.
.
We do not need a sellout President. We need a principled leader President.
.
If you are one of the few who do not know what the above refers to, do a web search for “gang stalking” to see the tip of the dirtberg.  Please do it before you decide to reply to my post. Here let me make it easy for you: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22gang+stalking%22.

It's a real shame that Dennis is not more marketable because he is a man who means what he says and stands behind it. In essence, a leader. Having to fight the republican press and the Clinton/Obama machines seems to be an impossible task. Perhaps V.P. to Edwards Pres. is a workable answer.
He did great. MSNBC can you please cover things in a non-hack way?
Kucinich IS marketable- he just got a standing O at the  Heartland Presidential Forum. Rocked the house. When he's actually allowed to speak, really does speak to the average american people. Stop for a second the next time you want to say the oft heard "We'd love Kucinich- but..." and instead of end it with "But it's too bad we'll have to wait a whole year till he's in office" lol. If you vote for him he actually could win!
Yes indeed.....He's already got my vote! Dennis is just what America needs
At the end of his speech, and to entertain to the guests, Kucinich was beamed up to the Mother Ship for further instructions.
Dennis is the right man right now. Send a message that we will not settle for mediocre candidates - support Kucinich!
