I would go see Obama if he came within 20 miles of my hometown.  I wouldn't vote for him in the primaries.

My wife would go see Oprah if she had the chance.  She wouldn't vote for Obama either.

People are going to see the two "stars" they see on mag covers in the supermarket or on tv.

While I'm sure the Obama campaignn will give away some tickets, it has been my experience volunteering for the Obama campaign, AND attending a rally in DC of well over 5000 where every single person paid for the privilege of attending, that the overwhelming  number of tickets has been "bouhgt" by a supporter.

Obama rocks!! Just listen to him, give him a chance, once you know him, you can't help but love him!!

This is what i have been talking about, Hillary Clinton cannot win this election. I am one the folks that made reservation and i'll officially start volunteering for Obama's campaign.

I think you are just close-minded. Once a person hears Obama speaks they love him. He is truly awesome. I am just asking that you give him a chance. Not based on lies, or what you heard. But based on policy issues. I am ashamed that people in America vote for people b/c they think they can win or decide to not vote for someone b/c they think they can, maybe if everybody just voted for who they agree with on the issues, the U.S. would be a better place.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will win the 2008 election. She was a First Lady, worked side by side with her husband as well as and advisor to Bill.  She has traveled around the globe with her daughter Chelsea, speaking about family, women, and children issues. Her experienced as a First Lady for eight years is more than what Obama can muster. In addition, she championed Children's Fund, authored of two books; (1) Living History, Hillary Rodham Clinton and (2) It takes a village.  She has been an advocate for women and children. Hillary is an intelligent, strong, and can stand toe to toe with Mr. Obama.  When Hillary becomes our next President, the people of this country will gain another strong,intelligent and articualted former President, her husband Bill Clinton.  I am confident that Hillary has already lined up experienced, intelligent and articulated team of staff to put this country on the right path. With all due respect to Mr Obama and his wife Michelle, the country cannot afford to wait 100 days to a year for him to be on the job training. I am thankful that Hillary will rescue our country with the help of another former President, her husband, Bill Cllinton.  As for Oprah's personal touch into Mr. Obama's campaign; I think, people will flock to see Oprah because of her popularity as well as to hear Mr. Obama.  But I doubt it if all these sold out rally will translate into any votes.  I don't see Oprah's popularity and money as a factor in voter's decision to vote either for Hillary or Obama, unless she gives themm all brand new cars, diamonds or rolexes.  

If Oprah can draw the crowds even better than Obama or Hillary ...

There is no "forced" pledge as you seem to imply.  It simply askes whether you are a supporter, will vote for him on primary day, or if you are still undecided.  Do you actually think they would turn away people who are undecided?  Isn't that the whole point?  That's certainly not buying votes.

I attended an Obama rally and no one made me sign anything.  Most of the Obama workers I have met do not have much money to give but are willing to work as volunteers for hours on end for Obama for no pay at all.

Would you elect a presidential candidate such as Barack Obama based upon an endorsement by someone who endorsed scams which bilked large amounts of money from the public? Maybe not, but what if the endorser is very well known and has her own television show?  OK, well, I can't be talking about Oprah Winfrey, Right?... but I am. I am speaking of the Oprah Winfrey Cult. In the beginning of 2007, Oprah Winfrey had a number of shows dedicated to a scam known as "The Secret". On Oprah's show and other shows hosting by others, this "The Secret” promoted pyramid schemes and made either misleading or outright false claims about their product. This is the same crowd who blamed the workers at the Twin Towers for their own deaths because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time because of their "bad thoughts”. The proof of these false "Secret" claims were made on countless websites, and respected magazines such as Newsweek and Nightline. Oprah not only endorsed this snake oil known infamously as; “The Secret" but she championed it and placed herself at the top of the pyramid of lies and deceit. "The Secret" used Oprah's shows as shameless infomercials and propaganda, and Oprah pandered endlessly to them. "The Secret" also praised a slave owner numerous times.  While it may seem out of character for Oprah to allow uncontested praise of slave owners by the guests on her show, keep in mind that these slaves were white and not black--which may have made the difference for Oprah. Oprah is quick to use the race card such as when she was in Paris and demanded that a fancy store stay open just for her and when it didn’t recognize her as the head of the Oprah Cult—Oprah cried racism against the store. Not that I am suggesting that Oprah is a racist, but put this together with the fact Oprah only will support a black candidate (Barack Obama) without due consideration of other candidates. Moreover, Oprah supports Obama despite the fact that Obama shares a stage with a well known bigot. So it makes one wonder about whether Oprah is a racist in her support of Obama. Or perhaps Oprah is a very poor judge of character as witnessed by her championing of; “The Secret" which is now the subject of world wide criminal fraud investigations and lawsuits. Consider another choice of guest endorsed by Oprah. The fake doctor, who performed surgery on Kanye West's mother and then later died, was booked on Oprah and endorsed. Consider also Oprah’s choice of child abusing employees for her school. In either case, Oprah's endorsement of Obama has no meaning beyond a tv personality cynically trying to whip up some more interest in her tv show ratings, while pretending to show interest in humanity.

As I read many of the statements made, I can only think this is why we have a President such as Bush.  People think of the most foolish things.  We such be reading and listen to all we can from each of the persons running for the highest office in the nation.  Our current President had no foreign policy experience.  He had no nation policy.  We now find that we are hated around the world.  Let us stop this craziest and attempt to elect someone that can get this nation back on the right track.  I am not sure if it is Clinton, Obama, Biden, or Edwards; however I will say that I will be reading a listening to everything each of them say before I cast my vote.

I'm tired of people questioning Obama's experience. Generally, experience is not as important as judgment. I think that we can all agree that experience without judgment is totally useless. I know this comes for the Obama camp but, Cheney and Rumsfeld were two of the most experienced people for the jobs they got and look what happened. Even if experience counts as much as you say it does, how does two more years in the senate make Hillary more able to run the country? And don't give me that first lady line because not only was she not active in that but when she was she accomplished nothing except a failed health care plan.

I stopped watching oprah years ago (became boring).  I have heard obama speak and was not impressed.  He does little more than stand around with his hands crossed and his head thrown back (his version of appearing "presidential"). Obama seems to be running on nothing but the fact that he would have voted against the war.  Although I would never vote for clinton, voting for this empty suit candidate is nuts.  Best choice would be Biden, but that's not going to happen.

ok, for a moment let's put race and celebrity aside and let look at the character of the leading two canidates.  Mrs. Clinton has during her time as first lady vigorously attacked the many women in her husband's life.  She has maintained experience in the White House makes her the best canidate but fails to produce evidence to back up such claims.  She has shown on more than one occasion bad judgement and decision making (health care, Iraq and now Iran).  Obama has stood for both as a state representative and US Senator a unification of the political parties in a way to heal the country which has been lead down the wrong path.  He has predicted and stood by his stance against the war.  He has made and has universal appeal to more than just Black Americans.  He has inspired a new generation of previously disenfranchised youth to take up the mantle participation in the political process.  I personally would want a President that inspires rather than one that alienates as Mrs. Clinton has since being in being public office.

I believe what Oprah could do is not just steer voters towards Obama, but also make civic responsibility a new mantra of her show.  Look at what she has done for reading - how many Oprah watchers REALLY read books before her club.  Maybe she will get more women/viewers to at least think about voting if they don't already.
