Huckabee leads in GA

Posted: Tuesday, December 11, 2007 12:53 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum and Domenico Montanaro
Huckabee leads and Thompson's support is virtually cut in half in the Feb. 5 state of Georgia, a new Strategic Vision poll (R) to be released tomorrow will show.

Huckabee grabs the top spot with 23%, up from just 5% from the same poll conducted in October. Thompson polls at 20%, down from 39%. Giuliani receives 17%, down from 20%. Like Huckabee, both McCain and Romney have risen in the polls, but not nearly as much as the former Arkansas governor. McCain is now polling at 11%, up slightly from 9%, and Romney receives 10%, up from 6%.

This poll was conducted December 7-9; 515 Republican voters were interviewed, and the margin of error for this poll is 5%.

Clinton retains lead, but Obama pulls within single digits
On the Democratic side, Clinton has lost six points but still leads, with 34%. Obama's polling remains unchanged at 27%. Edwards received 12%. 468 Democratic voters were interviewed and also has a margin of error of 5.5%.

Huckaboom all over the nation !  Watch out Ghoul-iani, here we come !
Huckabee as President?! A man who lets anyone out of prison if they claim to have found Jesus and wanted Magic Johnson put in quarantine? Yea, and my Christmas ham is just gonna fly right out of the kitchen!
and supposedly huckabee would get swept by hillary in the national election..... i know polls are somewhat misleading, but give us an idea of what people think about the candidates, how come Mike is beating Hillary in Arkansas if they were to go head to head, isn't Hillary from Arkansas? i get it, the people who know these candidates like Mike more than Hillary
Drew, Cedar Falls, IA (Sent Tuesday, December 11, 2007 6:06 PM)

Drew, where is Huckabee from? Which state's Governer was he?

Another American with less knowledge about one's own country?
What the heck ever happened to seperation of church and state.....Enough talk about religion.  It shouldn't be a part of any political discussion.  what about health care, social security, global warming, sending american jobs out of the country, our HUGH deficit, and the list goes on and on and on!!!! Wake up America it is time for some serious discussion and proactive solutions not more sermons from the pulpit.  I will leave that up to my minister.
Huck is a clown. Smooth talking and bible quoting doesn't equal substance. His only plan seems to be pander to the right wing nut jobs. Anyway, I hope he gets the nomination. That will guarantee the Democrats get back in the white house.
I swear to almighty God I will leave the republican party if Huckabee gets the nomination. Will the Evangelicals in this country please secede from the union already, and quit mucking things up for the rest of us.

Ron Paul!!!  Everyone else is just a Socialist in Republican and Democrat "sheep-skins". The Southern Baptist voted this summer that alcohol was sin, and we would want Huck behind the wheel? Gees. Bob Jones will not let boys and girls walk on the same side-walk but the endorse a Mormon?  Get Ron Paul and lets get back to being Americans...the FREE! Why would we vote along the Evangelical lines? Even Jesus Himself couldn't get their support today. Wake up America. Ron Paul for the Win!
when are we going to have real candidates again,
fiscally responsible and strong enough to protect our country and us as citizens,

we need jobs to feed our families, not handout programs

sensible retirement and medical plans, not broken promises and broken budgets and broken security

Illegal aliens are not the solution they are the cause of many problems: lost jobs, faltering wages, social and medical spending overload, it is a huge problem, the war in iraq is finally waning, the illegal alien problems are still here and worsening.

Los angeles county spent 1 billion on illegals last year as announced by Mike Antonovich, we could do alot to save our state with that 1 billion. YOUR CITY will be economically drained too if we don't take action and demand our leaders save our country. THIS is why we have a border so our country and our way of life is secured. Past immigration from around the world helped build this nation, uncontrolled illegal immigration is ruining this nation.

Mike Huckabee is leading in Georgia.  This after we are beginning to see the real policies and beliefs of this man.  Segregation for people with AIDS?  Hate cubans ..oh, now love them (a vote is a vote, right?).  Gay people are all sinners ... Well, WE are all sinners, but they are just for being born gay?  And we wonder why the GOP has decreased in numbers, support, validity, etc.  Welcome to Georgia ... Here's your sign!
Today's news: Polls are numbers and numbers have always lied, yet there are those who stand to gain when they send another Washington self serving Paper hanger back to Washington.

billay numbers are dropping because the truth is leaking out, Trumped up scandal, felons in here staff and needless to say ""But I Will! billary is nothing more than a Washington self serving Paper Hanger! She knows nothing of how this country should be run, make you pay for HER self serving Bonds, pay higher medical costs, rename different government agencies, has no concern to enforce immigration of illegals, poverty is her last calling, industrial infrastructure ""Knows nothing"" foreign policy?????

Get real serious, scandal upon scandal, riddled conjecture, flip and flop voting, reaches out to grab a current coat tail for the free ride, Has plenty of hidden agenda's only to be used in a sel serving manner.

Read deep into who clintons realy are and no wonder they want back in the White House. Just maybe she need to wash her hair and get the seamsetess to split the legs on all those pants!
McCain will pick the Huckalberry and make a pie, Iowa is a laid back state  just you wait and see the surprising outcome. He is the only one of the elephants to stomp on that donkey , Oh I forgot a female donkey is called a Jenny.
if you want a liberal choose guliani...if you want an actor choose thompson...if you want a comedian choose huckabee...if you want a president choose romney.
Do any of you actually read what the CANDIDATES write and not what is written about them.

What I want:

An individual who can read!
Take what they read and apply it to life experiences.
Have a set of core beliefs that guide them but do not keep them stagnant or irrelevant!
Learn from their mistakes.
Surround themselves with other reading, thinking, learning people.
At the end of the day - be able to state with conviction why they believe what they do and be willing to make the hard choice to see it through, but also be willing to adapt if new information or circumstances indicate a change in strategy is indicated ( Thus Flip Flopping must be put in the context of time!)
Proof of these principles of leadership are based on years of "trial and error" and despite all of that finding new strategies for leadership and personal success while considering the good of the whole, not just personal gain.
Let's be honest - who would actually want to make the sacrafice to be President of the United States without having an ego, being driven, and setting that as a goal!
When you take all of these things in to consideration there is only one choice for President - Hillary Clinton.  Just take a moment to read her work over 30+ years - not what others have written, not what her husband has written or done, and consider the future.
It is going to take someone who can talk the talk and walk the walk - warm fuzzies will not get us wheere we need to be!
The road forward is going to be hard - it is going to take someone strong, insightful, and determined to get us there!
We can no longer think in narrow, personal terms, but need to consider the good of the whole.
Great gains for the few are far too costly when small gains for the masses will bring much greater reward and sustaining benefit!
Take a minute to read, and think, and focus on what is really important!

Fred, Fred, where's your cred ( http://snipurl.com/ftfredlukewarm )?
Will you let me keep my bread?
FairTax, Yes! ( http://snipurl.com/scrapthecode )
'er FairTax,  No! ( http://snipurl.com/meltdowninprogress )
Just another politico?
Hope for tax reform, I see,
Will be voting HUCKABEE! ( http://snipr.com/fthuckabeeonirs )
When does Al Gore step in? Someone with standing, and experience. Someone who has been thoroughly vetted by the media, nothing left in the closet. Someone with the presence to stand toe to toe with the world's leaders. America blew it last time! Let's get it right this time.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who has my vote.  The rest are working for the same master.  Vote for liberty, freedom, and justice and vote Ron Paul in '08.
I have been voteing for over 47 years now.I voted for JFK at age 18.I was thrilled at the time by a man who stole my heart and really had a vision of the future.Obama is no JFK.I am working for Hillary and feel that beyond Iowa and NH,she will win in the big states, rich with delegates. She will have 2,184 by July 1st,or even sooner.I live in Oregon where she is very popular. She is way ahead here and in California, and in Washington.Looking at an open map of the country I don't see Obama geting the delegates in the big states, other than his own in Ill.I know you have to talk news 24/7,but Hillary is going to win going away, and will beat any republican in the November,2008 election. The American people want change. And Hillary knows how Washington runs. She is a fighter, she will get things done, whatever it takes.
I believe she will be a breathe of fresh air, hope for the middle class, and the poor. She has a heart, unlike Bush who has run America into the ground and will leave office known as the worst President since Hoover and the Great Depression.Yes,I do believe in my heart that their is a place called "Hope"
Huckabee's records in terms of economic development while being governor of AR really sucks. Before he took over AR it was ranked 48-49th and is still ranked 48-49th! He left office at the end of last year.  And he is definitely pandering the illegal immigrants so their supporters can vote for him enmasse. His flat tax pretty much leaves in the Fed-IRS mess we are! Not sure what is so appealing about him as a statesman. Yes, he can definitely send you home without touching the real issue with a holier than you after taste. Yes, he is good salesman, can speak like a real politician but then we already have a bunch of them in DC. One more will be too many.
In their desperate attempts to demean him, the flunkies at MSNBC, FOX, and CNN act like they think Mike Huckabee is Moses (Charlton Heston) in The Ten Commandments, standing at the entrance to the Red Sea in his red robe with arms outstretched, and they are all Pharoah's soldiers, who will perish when he calls upon the power of the Lord.
Keep bashing hillary democrat fans, If you get Obama we will be sure to lose to the republicans and that is exactly what you see in the blogs is people acting like they support Obama. If he gets the nomination we will lose OUR party for 08. Clinton is strong and needs to be in the white house. Clinton 08! SHE IS BETTER THAN BUSH, MORONS! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN ALREADY WHAT WE HAD TO DEAL WITH, CHRISTIAN EXTREMIST WITH NO CARE FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS OR OUR PLANET. AMERICA AS DUMB AS USUAL, IF OPRAH SAYS ITS GOOD IT MUST BE. DUMB SOOO SOOO DUMB!!!!!We're not going to need ballot initiatives to win this next election. I mean, if we can't point to what the Republicans have done to this country in eight years and win, then we don't deserve to win!!!!! ALl politicians have ghost in thier closets but hey at least she wont take us to war or screw our environment or take days to help a state in emergency... COME ON! EITHER YOUR A WOMAN THAT IS iNSECURE ABOUT YOURSELF WITH THE MONICA THING OR YOUR A MAN WITH THE FEAR OF BREAST RUNNING THE COUNTRY. WE HAD TO PUT UP WITH IDIOTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE ITS TIME FOR A WOMEN TO CLEAN UP THE MESS! Get over the affair ladies she was the one that stood by her career and her daughter, its her private business not yours! HILLARY O8! A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER..
Fred is dead, grumpy uncles are loved but not respected.
Huck may survive the long knives of the repub bluebloods but will be weakened.
Rudy is the joke this election cycle, frozen in his Rudyness.
Mitt is the blueblood candidate, money is king.
Ron Paul is the semi-skinhead candidate, we hate all of the government, a plague on everyones house.
John McCain is the drunken uncle, Ignore him, he is not none of us.
Mitt and Huck will be beating each other for the nomination and then they will be too weak to beat the dem candidate.
The stakes are high, do we want four more years of lazy people running our country on ideological priciples that Bush has fostered on our country?
My bottom line:  Huckabee is the only one of the top tier candidates on either side that I feel like I can trust (Obama comes in a close second)

I also abhor a process that tells me only the ones with the most money in the bank have a chance to win the Presidency.  There's something wrong with that-this is still the greatest Democracy in the history of the world and I'm pulling for Huck!
Ok...I graduated High School in 1989...we knew what AIDS was then and how it was transmitted.  Huck made the "round them up" comments in 1992.  Honestly, I hope he does get the Rep. nomination.  I think he would get trounced. I hope America is tired of being led by religious zealots who will elect any candidate that is anti-abortion or gay  despite how horribly they might run the rest of the country.
I LIKE MIKE! Before you 'dis' him, look at where he stands on the issues,www.mikehuckabee.com and watch how when he debates, he doesn't change his stance. Huckabee is not perfect, and he'll tell you so!
In California, there is a huge surge of support for him and his supporters have raised over $500,000 since the Iowa Caucus. The Status Quo Has Got To Go!!
Huckabee 08..
