ONE campaign's ad buy

In what is the largest issue ad campaign of the cycle so far, ONE Vote 08, an arm of Bono’s ONE Campaign, will go up with a $1.8 million political ad buy starting Thursday in Iowa, New Hampshire and on cable nationally.

The ads name each of the candidates, but doesn't target anyone specifically. The bipartisan ONE Vote 08, co-chaired by former Sens. Tom Daschle (D) and Bill Frist (R) seeks to influence the agenda of the next president. Several candidates have lauded the group’s efforts to bring attention to poverty, malaria and AIDS in Africa and have appeared in the group’s official videos. The group said they have no plans to run negative ads against candidates who do not promote ONE’s agenda.

“I think there’s a yearning to come together, to reduce partisan acrimony,” Daschle said in a meeting this morning. “I feel it everywhere I go….I’m excited to actually be seeing candidates who say they’d be committed to an agenda that’s non-partisan.”

ONE has also posted outlines of what each candidate has pledged to do to help the cause on its Web site. ONE has about 20,000 on-the-ground organizers and volunteers in Iowa and thousands of others in New Hampshire, officials said.

Great Idea!

Vote for Change! Vote for Ron Paul 2008!
-he voted against the Iraq war
-he has never voted to raise taxes
-he voted against the Patriot Act
-he opposes amnesty for illegals
-he opposes entering war with Iran
-he voted against Bush's amendment banning gay marriages
-he is for reducing the national debt by cutting government spending instead of placing the burden on taxpayers
-he is for fair trade
-he is for limited government
-he is for handling global situations with diplomacy
-his voting record is consistent
-he isn't backed by corporations, lobbyists and special interest groups

Thank you for reading!
I'd vote for Bono in a heart-beat. He should start a third party, and call it the "one" party. If only he wasn't Irish...
Daschle as bi-partisan is a far reach.  He was thrown out mostly because of his partisan acrimony.  It would be great if it were true but he has a whole lot of proving to do.
bill frist of terry schavio fame.. he wants the govt, not your family , to decide if you live or die.
He's a republican
The ONE organization is really excellent.  I was first exposed to it when American Idol did its Idol Gives Back benefit show, and it was truly an eye-opening event for me.  With the money I spend on a latte at Starbucks, I could provide 2 kids with malaria medication that will probably save their lives.  It's incredible to think about - and unfortunately, we don't think about it enough.  Kudos to those politicians who are working along with this incredible organization to raise not only money but awareness about these issues.
"I support reauthorization of PEPFAR and President Bush's proposal to double our commitment from $15 billion to $30 over the next five years. I support an increase in our commitment to the Global Fund."

- Mike Huckabee on the ONE website

To FR... if you can bring yourself to asking Huckabee a "tough" question, please ask him his plans for Social Security and Medicare.

If he wants to increase spending on ONE, presumably that'll happen after he's taken care of our existing unfunded liabilities, right?

I'm pretty sure that Fred and Ron Paul have answered this (IMO) important question.
Ron Paul who wants a constittional admend stating that a fertilized egg is a human being, but a woman is not.

he's a wacko
Thanks Tyler---you made me laugh out loud----haven't done that for a while lost my beloved mother before thanksgiving and my grandson left for Iraq 4 days later. Are you a Dallas fan?another of my grandsons has been a staunch fan forever---he is very excited right now about Tony Romo.My dad was born in Texas. He too was a fan--
Here It Is!!

Washington self serving paper hangers """Permote Agenda""" The media hit the nail right on the head, as you and I are concerned we don't exist!!

Their speeches start:  ""I""   Well ""I"" means "ONE" and that is their Agenda!!!

Americans have become too smart to listen, yes Enough is Enough, The present setting Senated is pure garbarge, unity Where, Critical issues addressed "When"! They got their $3330.00 raise and haven't earned one minute of it! I wonder how much their next raise is going to be ??  And that is not counting all the Perks that come with it!!!!

Vote for a proven person with leadership traits not your Washington self serving Paper Hanger!!!!
