Tancredo may drop out tomorrow

Posted: Wednesday, December 19, 2007 4:32 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Chuck Todd and Domenico Montanaro
Multiple sources tell First Read Tancredo will likely pull out of the race for the Republican nomination tomorrow. The campaign says the candidate will make a "major announcement" at 3:00 pm ET in Des Moines, Iowa. It's unclear if he will endorse a candidate tomorrow as well.

Who?
There is a god after all !!

This is the bozo who threatened to bomb Mecca
(take that, McCain) if we suffered another terrorist attact

What a statesman !!

Will he endorse McCain or Clinton ?
I guess he is going to endorse Hillary Clinton.
Immigrants - both legal and illegal - can sleep a little easier tonight.
Will have little to absolutely no effect on the primary season at all.

Bee, you just can't let a single post go by without hitting up Hillary just once, can you? As usual your comment has nothing at all to do with the item.

HILLARY '08
Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.  Does this mean since we can't vote for him there will definitely be a terrorist attack here?  What a moron this guy is.
I am almost amazed he stuck in this long.  Why pull out now?  Iowa is merely 2 weeks away.

I guess foolishness was the theme of his campaign...

Tancredo, I do like your stance on illegal immigration and your opposition to the NAFTA superhighway and the insidious North Amrican Union. Now, please stop drinking the neo-con kool-aid in regards to the unConstitutional Iraq War, and the mostly fictitious War on Scarism - and we will take you more seriously.

Ron Paul 2008
Congressman Tancredo has done a wonderful service for America by running for the presidency and by doing so alerting Americans to the problem we have with illegal immigration.
Good

Tancredo's done what he set out to do - brought immigration front and center as a Republican issue.  He doesn't need to run now, everybody's going to try to stand to the right of each other on this one in the Republican primary and they'll drag the Dems at least part way into the briar patch with them (remember Hillary's decisive leadership on the issue of driving licenses for illegals).

To the crazy people posting that Tancredo will endorse Clinton, you are running with a counterproductive argument.  While T.T. goes overboard, his central argument is immigration, which an endorsement of H.R. Clinton would imply that she is tough on immigration.  I would bet you that being tough on immigration would be a good thing, plus an acknowledgement that she was against drivers liscences for illegals.
Too bad. I heard Tom speak twice, and met him at our Christmas Dinner here in Iowa.

He gave a pretty impassioned talk, about, you guesed it immigration. But he spoke about the upward battle he had to fight when he first got to the House, and he would hold a conference on immigration and half the room would walk out. Now he has amendments accepted with little challenge.

But he gave a good talk about "moral relativism", and how this immigration issue is bigger than the Mexican issue, but also about us knowing who is here in the United States. Namely making sure terrorists are not getting in and staying.

As he correctly stated. Social Security Reform, SCHIP and all the other issues are meaningless, if terrorists are able to get in and succeed.

Hip hip horray! Hip hip Horray! Hip hip horray for Tom!

Tom ran to make this an issue!

I sure hope Tom's message got through. ARE YOU HEARING THAT REPUBLICAN NOMINEE, WHOEVER YOU ARE?!!
He accomplished his goal.  He got illegal immigration awareness into the main stream.  From those of us in areas of the country who are drowning in problems caused by illegals, we say well done!
Tanccredo has spent a lot of time trying to get the immigration laws enforced. Why has the govt. failed to follow our (taxpayers) wishes. Tancredo would cure this immigration problem which is greater than Iraq. We can leave Iraq and come home to "engleese"
I hope his wisdon will be used by the winner of this joke fest.
HERE IT IS AGAIN... hillaryclinton.com
I have to agree that I found his attention to illegal immigration was impressive.  I feel that this is a major issue of concern for me and I like him for being the only politician with enough guts to take a really agressive approach to the issue.  He does a really good job of conveying the frustrations of most Americans over this issue.

Oh and btw
Hillary 2008/2012!
First time I heard his name
You all are nuts, why worry about Tancredo!! It will be an Edwards/Bayh ticket that will win in 2008.
Tancredo doesn't want illegals in this country unless they're working on his house (which happened).
How cute, Sierra almost removed the scroll monicker from her name. Even suggesting Tancredo would endorse Hillary shows how shallow and small minded this poster is in regards to national politics. Tancredo is crazy, and the poster doesn't like Hillary, so of course he would endorse across party lines.

Seriously, are you over the age of thirteen?

As far as Tancredo goes, good riddance. Him dropping out of the race won't even be a big announcement. Has he actually done anything except for inspiring xenophobia?
A sad day.  In addition to the illegal immigration issue, he also talked about bringing the country back to our old fashioned values. He stands for taking back our county and our freedom.  I have heard him speak and he is awsome.  Too bad main stream media didn't give him half a chance. In the debates, he was all but blocked out. Thanks, Tom for all your efforts for the average John and Jane Doe.
Threatening to bomb Mecca was the smartest thing said by anyone in this campaign so far.  The best way to get rid of ants or cockroaches is to kill the queen of the colony.
Uhhh, he hasn't announced that he's dropping out just yet so let's not be so presumptuous.
The republicants controlled the whitehouse and congress and the senate and now the dems barely have control the republicants decide to set up a straw man they helped create. They vote to send all our jobs over seas, they support low minimum wages. What do u expect. Get rid of the bad employers get rid of the problem its that easy. GJ republicants for doin something when u had it all...
As a 'proud' constituant in Tancredo's district, please allow me to say, THANK GOODNESS.  What an utter embarrassment this guy has been.
YAY! I was ashamed that he was representing the beautiful state of colorado!
I'm supprised he lasted as long as he did.
HARK: IT is prophecy that the 'KABBA' in Mecca Saudi Arabia will have a Poof Time moment if they [Islamaholics] do not surrender Bad Boy's like Mr. [dead or alive] Osama Bin Laden & All Anti-Humanity pre-apocalyptic thinkers.

InCamera (Secret), Osama Bin Laden is gonna appear soon! What a Winter or Summer Soltice indeed to behold! Ya Ya!
Old fashioned values?   Bush has done that. Kind of like the AlCapone, mafia Old values.

They are stink, except maybe edwards. He probably gives a hoot about most people
Poor Tom...guess his dumb rhetoric didn't play outside his (95% white and 75% Republican) district. This is a guy who, in one of his victory re-election speeches, called Democrats "retards." I sure love seeing a dork like this paid with my tas money.
Could someone please tell one piece of legislation Senator Clinton has sponsored and  passed by both houses that has moved the United States in a positive direction?
Glorious news! One less Nazi running! But who will Tancredo endorse? Probably John McCain or Duncan Hunter. Speaking of which, Dunkkkan Hunter should follow Tankkkredo's lead and drop out shortly after.

This could prove beneficial to the Paul campaign as well. (Being as RP is the only non-fascist opposed to illegal immigration.)
Travis is the only reasonable person on here.  Really people, to inspire hatred of illegal citizens is non-productive. We have to find a way to fix the problem, not add to it.
Is that a first or last name ??
TT = lunatic
Who?
Roxanne, Funny. He talked about the first question he got an one debate. Some off the wall thing.
Maybe we should bomb Washington since democracy is a farce in this country due to lobbyists running the show. This election is costing way more than makes real sense.  Who pays, corporations and what do they get, the screwing of the American public.
For you liberal morons like the guy in Chicago that do not understand how grave the threat of a terrorist attack is in this country, perhaps when one occurs in Chicago, you'll consider voting for him next time and understand Tancredo's tough stance on terrorism and illegal immigration.

I've met the man twice and had dinner with him, and all I can tell you is that of all the politicans I've ever met, Tancredo isn't egotistical, he isn't narcissistic, and he sincerely cares about the welfare of this country like no one in his position I have ever met. He won't sell out to the big corporations for contributions like the typical politicians, and he won't pander for votes from Hispanics. He possesses strong convictions, and never flip flops. It's called integrity, people.

If I were from Illinois, I'd be embarrased that my state elected a man who is as naive as a kid that has flunked the 2nd grade twice. For Obama to say this country will never use nuclear weapons under any circumstances if he is elected President sends a clear message to the nut cases of the world like Akmajenadad that there won't be anyone there to stop the world's next Adolf Hitler.
Mike, Hmmm, calling Democrats "retards" is offensive to retards. Kidding, pal.
as a citizen of Colorado, Tancredo was heard: and although he is opinionated - our country is based on opinions, and his ability to make citizens think out of their box.  - please we as citizens have a voice and a choice. Tancredo does believe illegal immigration is paramount - it is!Having prior employment with illegals, a cultural difference - and laws and rules are broken, not followed - and society doesn't want to take a step. People open your eyes; take responsibility for yourselves and your society. I surely hope he doesn't endorse Hillary Clinton/ and thank the good energy I am I live in America. Karen, Colorado
Thanks Tom for bringing the illeagel immigration issue to the political forum. Your efforts are appreciated and many others realize how concerened the mainstream of our society is about this issue.
Go RON PAUL 2008!
Thank you Tom Tancredo for your efforts and hard work.  You have made many people more aware of the illegal alien invasion problems.  I hope the new administration will listen to the American citizens on this issue and restore our country.
Laugh as you will! With 6 billion people on this earth, of which a large percentage would give anything (even risk death to come to America) we'll be a third world nation with the working person making squat.  Then see how smug you will be.  The New World Order has just about wrapped it all up!  The Trans Nation Capitalist will ensure it will happen to allow for the free movement of Kapital and Labor through out the world, maximizing their profit with the global economy.  I even read the Clintons have money stashed in off shore banks to evade the taxes they complain they don't pay enough of. Recon 50 mill isn't enough.
like 85% of all americans , hopefully his message was heard and his cause will be carried by the other candidates!
Rob from Iowa, please travel the country a little bit more, not all Mexicans are illegal and not every illegal person is Mexican.
tancredo was the only candidate worth voting for this election. the rest are scumbags and idiots at best.
