Mitt ad hits McCain on immigration

From NBC/NJ’s Erin McPike
The Romney campaign is pulling out all the stops on McCain in New Hampshire now and not being bashful in promoting its negative ads just more than a week away from the Granite State primary.

There's yet another new spot out there this morning that takes McCain to task on illegal immigration. Despite McCain's attempts to change course on the issue, acknowledging that the American people spoke by coming out in force against the comprehensive immigration legislation that he co-sponsored, the first thing the ad reminds voters is: "McCain championed a bill to let every illegal immigrant stay in America permanently."

Just before issuing the ad, the camp blasted out a release about McCain in which spokesman Kevin Madden stated: "Senator McCain has a troubling history of neglecting substantive issues and getting personal in his attacks against those who happen to disagree with him. It’s the McCain way."

Despite the volley with the McCain campaign, team Huckabee is coming out against Romney in force in Iowa. A Huckabee supporter has been trailing the campaign at a couple of events in the Hawkeye State over the last couple of days and has been approaching the press. Today in the Midtown Cafe in Newton - at Romney's second event -- he identified himself not as a staffer but as a supporter and notified reporters that several members of the Arkansas legislature were holding an informal session with reporters after the event to debunk some of Romney's claims about the former Arkansas governor.

I'm surprised more voters aren't aware of Huckabee's roll in releasing convicted rapist Wayne Dumond.

I haven't decided who to vote for but Huckabee is a snake in the grass.

good I hope everybody watches these guys fight over the few scraps left---their nasty dispositions are on display while they destroy one another.I have heard everyone enjoys watching a good catfight.
I thought that the concensus on Romney was he is a champion flip flopper and cannot be trusted.Didn't some newspapers in N H write articles on how he should not ever be president?George Bush has already smeared Mccain beyond redemption especially with the CRAZY label
John everyone is aware, we know the facts but you don't, he was castrated in prison by a group of Clinton cronies and raped viciously, and the sheriff kept his testicles on his desk as a souveinir, and new evidence came out and the prison board pardoned him , so grow up and quit lying, that's why he's beating everyone's butt
TO HMT-MI:
It may be your opinion that Romney is a flip-flopper, but it is not the consensus. I've stated before and will say again that we all "flip-flop." Meaning that we change our minds, thats our nature as human beings.
Politics is about getting others to change their minds, as well as changing your mind to a "better view" if the argument is compelling enough. So far, Romney has demonstrated that he will change his mind IF the argument is compelling. That is attractive in a candidate. It means they don't have such a large ego that the only way they see things is one way (their way, the right way). They are open to expert advisement.
No one person alone can run this country, nor should they. They should be open to obtaining as many differing views on a topic as possible and then making a decision based upon that information. Romney appears to be open to this (as well as several other candidates). So NO, Romney is not a flip-flop in my mind, and by reading other posts I think others might agree.
HMT-MI, working through problems and coming up with the right solutions isn't flip flopping. However, he has been painted as so, wrongly so, but it is something that he'll need to overcome.

In all actuality, if you look at his record as Governor vs. the other candidates record, you will see someone who is consistently conservative when it comes to getting things done. And he gets things done! Turned around the state from record deficits, turned around the olympics from near bankruptcy, turned around countless other businesses from near bankruptcy. Do you see the trend here?

If there ever was a time in the history of America where we need someone who can turn things around for us, now is the time. Mitt is the man.
If I were running for President I would seriously blow off Iowa and New Hampshire for they are just of their minds, on the one hand you have Iowans ready to anoint a FOOL from Arkansas and to be honest I can't tell the difference in whether he's running for President or Preacher of the United States. Then on the other you have New Hampshire residents ready support a man who was ready willing and able to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, they themselves were against it and made the calls to his and other Senators offices, now they're just going to abandon that?..

Romney is The only one left that can seriously pull this 3 way split in the GOP together. We as voters need to seriously look at Romney's record and Stop with the stupid attacks on his Mormon faith, my gosh it just shows how secretly some of us have a strong taste for religious bigotry, would you treat Joe Lieberman this way if he were running on our side?
Read the following fact check on Romney's ad produced by Annenberg.
