DES MOINES, IA -- Want further proof that negative advertising works? After nearly two weeks of Romney airing TV ads in the this state criticizing his records on immigration and crime, Huckabee’s standing in Iowa has slipped, according to the latest MSNBC/McClatchy/Mason-Dixon poll. In the survey, Romney now leads Huckabee, 27%-23%, although it’s within the 5% margin of error. They’re followed by Thompson at 14%, McCain at 13%, and Giuliani and Paul tied at 5%. Three weeks ago -- before Romney began his contrast ads -- the poll had Huckabee comfortably leading Romney, 32%-20%. One of the reasons for Huck’s decline: His lead over Romney among self-identified born-again Christians has dropped from 42%-8% to 34%-27%. And among weekly churchgoers, it has decreased from 38%-15% to 28%-27%.

*** Dem race all about turnout: The Democratic race in Iowa, meanwhile, is essentially a three-way tie; just two points separate the three front-runners. In the poll, it’s Edwards 24%, Clinton 23%, and Obama 22% -- followed by Richardson at 12% and Biden at 8%. Three weeks ago, it was Clinton 27%, Obama 25%, and Edwards 21%. Although the percentages in it show it to be a tossup, the poll suggests that turnout could decide the contest. According to the survey, Obama leads Edwards and Clinton among first-time caucus-goers, 31%-22%-21%. Among veteran caucus-goers, it’s Edwards 25%, Clinton 24%, and Obama 18%. This suggests that a heavy turnout -- including many first-timers -- could greatly benefit Obama; a lighter turnout probably would benefit Edwards and (to a lesser degree) Clinton. Another important factor in the Dem contest is the battle for second choice (if a candidate doesn’t clear the 15% viability threshold). In the poll, Edwards gets the most second-choice support, and when Richardson, Biden, Dodd, and Kucinich backers are realigned among the top three Dems, the poll has Edwards over Obama and  Clinton, 36%-26%-26%.

*** Other interesting findings: Edwards has the highest fav/unfav score (73%-11%) among the Dem front-runners, while Clinton has the worst (59%-19%). On the GOP side, Romney has the highest rating (58%-19%), while both Giuliani (30%-39%) and Paul (21%-44%) have net-negative scores. In fact, this is the second-straight MSNBC/McClatchy poll that has Paul with a net-negative rating, leading us -- once again -- to wonder if Paul is running for the wrong party’s nomination. The new poll was conducted from December 26-28 among 400 likely GOP and 400 likely Dem caucus-goers, and it has a 5% margin of error.

*** So what about tea leaves? This poll indicates that the candidate with the greatest upside on the Dem side is Edwards. He's polling competitively and has the highest ceiling of support among these likely caucus-goers; he's tops among second choice AND he's got the highest fav rating. Obama appears to have the next highest ceiling, with Clinton with the smallest room to grow, as she trails badly in second choice and her fav rating -- while excellent -- is third among the top three candidates. As for the tea leaves on the GOP side, Romney appears to have the big Mo; these numbers match the anecdotal we've picked up.

*** Should the Dems go negative, too? Will Romney's apparent success in going negative change the CW about negative ads in Iowa on the Dem side? Maybe not. Why? It's much easier to go negative in a two-way race than in a three-way one, and that's why you aren't seeing any of the Dems risk going negative for fear that if candidate A attacks candidate B, candidate C gains.

*** The Outsiders: Both Huckabee and Edwards are running against bigger bankrolls and it's pushed both to using populist appeals. But the two aren't just "outsiders" in the literal sense. They are also relying on "outsiders" to win Iowa. Both are getting arguably more support (in the case of Huckabee) or as much support (in the case of Edwards) from these groups. Obama is trying to make this an issue with Edwards, as the Obama camp sees these outside groups allowing Edwards to apparently outspend Obama in these final days on TV. These Obama hits are having -- potentially -- a divisive effect on SEIU, whose state and local affiliates are helping to bankroll one of these pro-Edwards groups. Should Edwards fail to win Iowa, don't be surprised if there is a lot of internal turmoil inside of SEIU. Last night, the national union sent out a release reaffirming its support for the pro-Edwards 527, which is making a lot of pro-Obama SEIU forces upset.

*** The electability primary: Interestingly, all three leading Dem candidates made electability pitches during their Iowa stops. What did they all see in their recent tracking? Or is this about wooing second choicers? After all, according to the MSNBC/McClatchy poll out today, 20% are supporting Richardson and Biden, making the second-choice vote very important. And electability likely is a greater concern among folks making a backup pick. It can be a deal closer.

*** On the trail: Once again, nearly everyone is in the Hawkeye State… Biden travels to Mason City, Garner, Algona, and Woodbury; Clinton attends church in Des Moines before going to Vinton, Traer, Cedar Falls, and Iowa Falls; Dodd hits Le Mars, Emmetsburg, and Mason City; Edwards campaigns in Boone, Denison, Mapleton, and Sioux City; Huckabee has no other public events but a jog; Obama appears in Knoxville, Newton, Indianola, and Des Moines; Richardson stumps in Marshalltown, Des Moines, and Fort Dodge; Romney hits Iowa City, Mount Vernon, and Moscow; and Thompson is in Ames and Webster City. Elsewhere, both Giuliani and McCain campaign in New Hampshire.

Countdown to Iowa: 4 days
Countdown to New Hampshire: 9 days
Countdown to Michigan: 16 days

You would rather sacrifice the Soul of this Country just to spread your ridiculous hatred of Senator Obam. You would rather see this country destroyed not because you don't believe in the things that Senator Barack Obama is saying but because it is Senator Barack Obama who is saying it.
They are many Rich Politician who want to scare you with WAR.... They want you to be preoccupy because they want you to make same mistake a 3rd time....And if you do, mark my words, you think you are struggling now, it will become far worst than anything you can ever imagine.
Look at your politician.... Have you ever wondered how much they are worth financially.... I believe Senator Obama is probably the poorest of the group. He had every opportunity to make millions but it was his choice to stay and fight for the middle class and the poor.
And let me tell you if you elect Senator Clinton.... She will not look out for you she will only it make it worst for you.... She will take this Country deeper into a hole And then turn around and blame it on George Bush Administration's past mistakes....She voted for the war but blamed George Bush for it's failures... when his failures could not exist without her support.
And then soon you will one day come face to face with your deepest fear, the true meaning of poverty.... It will not just touch one of us it will touch all of us....And then your chance is lost.....Senator Obama will be only that, Senator Obama...You won't have the opportunity for 4 more years to repair the mistake you've made. We are at war but it's not with the world.....It is the Middle Class and the Poor against the Richest of the Rich. So I say, Republicans, Democrats and Independent who fits in the category of the less fortunate, make a choice, and think very hard at the choices you make because once you make it can not be undone...
Subtract yourselves from the propaganda....And ask the questions
How does your savings account look (many saving accounts no longer exists because many are living pay check to pay check)
Has the amount you pay for in gas taken away the type of food you buy (many are getting real familiar with TOP RAMEN)
How about the cost of housing (Now I don't own a home but come this January my rent will be rising to the cost of what a mortgage would be)
How about your health Insurance.... Well my employer just eliminated vision from our Healthcare Plan..... But they did give us the choice of purchasing it separately......Along with eliminating our vision they also increased the amount of premium we must pay for health care to and extra $50.00 making my monthly cost in Health Insurance balloon to $350 a month....
How about the price of Groceries (Well That has me struggling also)
Will you have money to send your children to college?
And with every cost of living on the rise the one thing that is excluded is how much we are bringing home from work. What we make to survive on is at stand still, while everything we need to survice it rising at impossible prices to pay for.
And I pretty sure that they are many many more questions that could be added on to this list
(The Richest of the Rich will have no problem answering any of the questions I have listed above with the highest of dignity.... Why many Americans are left to suffer)
So, Once again I say to subtract yourselves from the propaganda.....And ask the true hard to come to terms with questions......
Obama knows negative works, he's being using it for his campaign for months now.

oh, and why does obama approve of his using oprah but disapprove of the unions getting the message out?

is he classist? racist? does he dispise Oprah for drinking tea?
Where do you think Richardson's and Biden's people go to when they don't acheive the required 15%? Do they go as a group? Like Richardson to Clinton because of VP possibility? Or do they go to their own way? Or does it depend on the location and the local leadership? If so what do you predict?
Ladies and Gentelmen may I introduce to you, your next President. Hillary Clinton. come see why.. hillaryclinton.com
While I agree that Edwards has good support in Iowa and will end up well, I think when it comes to crunch time, some may end up going to Obama because they see his lack of money to run an effective long term race as a problem.
I have thought it would be 1 and 2 with Obama and Edwards in either spot.
I think Clinton will be 3rd.
I believe the people of Iowa are smarter than to have a total change of vote because of a few negative ads run by a desparate candidate.  Don't believe the drop in numbers for Huckabee and I believe he will win by a comfortable margin.  He has a huge support base in SC.  This man has shown how he can run a campaign on a shoestring budget.  Makes you believe he could do a fantastic job running our country.  Also, he says what he believes and sticks to it.  You know what you are getting here.  Love the guy.
Zogby shows a Clinton lead outside the MOE and an Obama nose dive.  Zogby does show strong upward movement for Edwards as well.

Summary of the polling with trendline:

Just wanted to say that as a feminist, I really want a woman to be president - but NOT Hillary Clinton. I want a woman who has made it on her OWN merits to be the first female president. Margaret Thatcher's husband Dennis was not a factor in her success. She made it on her own. Does anyone seriously believe that Hillary would be running if she had DIVORCED Bill? Many people who are supporting Hillary are doing so because they want Bill to have a third term. They look at Bill as a co-president.

We need to nominate someone who has made it on his own merits. Barack Obama has 11 years of legislative experience - 8 in the Illinois State Legislature where he was famous as a consensus builder between Democrats and Republicans, and 3 years in the US Senate where he has also worked wonderfully across party lines. (also read in another post that Obama actually has more legislative experience than Abraham Lincoln had!) And - he has shown he has the BEST foresight and judgment of ANY of the Democrats as he was the ONLY one who OPPOSED the Iraq War from the very beginning.

I proudly support Barack Obama!!
HILLARY CLINTON WILL WIN IOWA. TRUST ME ! hillaryclinton.com
I think Hillary will finish fourth as did Howard Dean in 2004. I predict Obama will be the winner, Edwards will be second, and Biden will be a surprise third.

Iowans like to surprise us. I think the surprise will be the collapse of the Clinton Machine.

Barack Obama will go on to win in New Hampshire and will have the nomination secured by Feb. 5.

Im so sick of reading peoples comments from those the represent not the majority of the people...So the best thing you can do is let the ordinary people express there feeling and you others keep off the internet with your phony ads. and misrepresentation of the canadates you represent...This is why the country is all screwed up from people like you...Whats in it for me and not what is best for the people......So take your polls and put them where the sun dont shine and let the people make up there mind.

America is a Democracy - We are not a Monarchy.
Wiser folks than us - saw to it long ago, that we be fortunate enough to realize this life blessing.
Nepotism may be fine for the old-corner-store but it will only serve to fail us again -as it has, most resoundingly, for the entirety of this millennium.

Voting for the worst policy decision in our life times does not make one 'experienced'.  It -IS- high time America elected a woman as commander-in-chief.  When a self made woman of conviction and talent stands up and demonstrates the character that can stand as an example for us all - we should stand behind her -  with conviction and fortitude.  Hillary Clinton is not that woman.  She is the spouse of a former and popular President. In a nation, 300 million strong, are we to believe that the person most suited to be the President just happens to be related to the last President ?!
Are we really to believe this is the case ?
Will we make this mistake, again ?

Barack Obama has the strength and certitude to take America in a new and positive direction - a direction that our evolving nation - being formed all around us all as we pass through our daily lives - very much is in need of.  There really is an immediacy of the 'now' that we all share.  We truly must begin to think big again and to face the immense challenges before us in brave and selfless ways again -  like those people in the old faded photographs on our walls did - for us.  It really is time to wake up again America. The time is, most certainly, now.

Barack Obama for President of the United States of America.

It's time for America to Rise and Shine again.
Mormons are a Cult!

WHAT DO MORMONS BELIEVE?

Mormons are some of the most exemplary human beings, especially in regard to their behavior patterns and their adherence to the fundamental values of our society. But their religious beliefs are, to put is simply, wrong. They believe that an angel named Moroni left some gold tablets in upstate New York and that these tablets were discovered by a man named Joseph Smith. From these tablets, Joseph Smith "translated" the Book of Mormon, which is the foundation upon which Mormonism is built. Mormons also consider two other books, Doctrine and Covenants and The Pearl of Great Price, to be divinely inspired.

Mormonism differs from biblical Christianity in several areas. Mormons do not believe, for example, that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Mormons must work their way to heaven. (B. R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine (Salt Lake City:1958), p. 191.)

Mormonism teaches that God is not the only deity and that we all have the potential of becoming gods. (Ibid., p. 576.) (Remember that Satan's fall came about because he wanted to be like God.) God, according to Mormons, is not just Spirit but has "a body of flesh and bones as tangible as a man's." (Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22.) They teach, "As we are, he was. As he is, we shall become." (Joseph Smith, "The King Follett Discourse," p. 9.) There has been constant revision of Mormon doctrine over the years, as church leaders have changed their minds on a number of subjects including polygamy, which was once sanctioned by the church.

In summary, the Mormon church is a prosperous, growing organization that has produced many people of exemplary character. But when it comes to spiritual matters, the Mormons are far from the truth.
I hate Iowa!  Why does the lilly white state have so much influence over the nomination process?  They consistently pick losing Democratic nominees.  And this year, if this poll is correct, will be no different.  I take that back...it will be different in that an Edwards win will secure the nomination for Clinton and likely result in a win for the Republican candidate in November. The Clinton Camp wants Edwards to best Obama because they know Edwards has no chance in hell of winning any other state.  He can NOT peel off any measurable percentage of female, African American and Latino voters from Clinton, which Obama can.  Thanks, AGAIN, Iowa!
Hillary is going to be the democratic candidate by the end of the primaries. Get that!

Bye bye Obama! Thank you for giving HRC a run for her money.

She deserves to win too! She is a real leader.

First read, your biased reporting is a shame. Thanks though.
"In fact, this is the second-straight MSNBC/McClatchy poll that has Paul with a net-negative rating, leading us -- once again -- to wonder if Paul is running for the wrong party’s nomination."

Oh really?

Maybe George W. Bush was also running for the wrong party's nomination back 2000, right?

The masses needs to be educated, and so do professional journalists.

And I'm not even a Ron Paul supporter.  ha!
Governor Romney is winning because his "attacks" are accurate.  Notice that Huckabee hasn't specifically, point-by-point refuted the claims made by Romney in his ads.  Huckabee DID raise taxes in AK substantially.  Huckabee did support using our tax dollars to fund illegals going to college.  Huckabee was more fiscally liberal than Bill Clinton.  So why does the media keep calling Romeny's ads "attack ads" or "negative campaigning."  They look like comparison pieces to me.
How many millions of dollars have been spent on what is essentially a beauty contest?
Susan,

Statistically (assuming you accept at least some of the polling) Edwards is likely to win, followed by Clinton and Obama 3rd.

Edwards is currently in the lead, most of his people are previous caucus goers and he is the favorite second choice.

He is going to be real hard to beat.

(I don't support Edwards, I am just saying it how it is.)
One thing is for sure.  Almost NONE of those second choice votes will go to HRC.  This gives me hope that my party can actually be prevented from making the worst mistake of my lifetime; nominating the hardest candidate to elect that we possibly could in a year that should belong to us  at a time in which the election of another Republican will quite probably see the closing of the window of opportunity we have to undo the damage of two Bush terms.
I'm a Republican from North Carolina and I just want to say that we here in NC know that the reason John Edwards did not run for re-election to the Senate was that he knew from polling here that he could not win. He wasn't able to win NC for Kerry - which would have made Kerry win the election in 2004 - when he was his VP candidate. He is not liked here by both Democrats and Republicans because he is seen as a phony and an opportunist. He has a tin ear on perceptions with his 28,000 sq.ft. home and his $400 haircut. I honestly don't think he could carry NC if he is the presidential nominee. You probably doubt me because I am a Republican, but believe me, I am telling it like it is here in NC.
Mike is the man. God is in control!
Huckabee has broken one of Christ's basic rules.  Don't take the name of God in vain.  He's using God to try to get elected and that's an abomination and blasphemy to my way of thinking.
Edwards seams to be there most electable, if there going to stay in the race anyhow.
Well, Russ, I'm just sick of it all.  It makes no dif which one wins, either party.  They're all corrupt...by the way, do you know Paul Bunyon?

I might vote for him, if he's running.
The new polls show that Iowa is getting it right.  Romney is the only person running who can run this country.

Go Mitt
biden is without a doubt the smart choice for the dems. if he recieved the same media time as the so called front runners he would easily have 40%.
There is a tightning in the polls my friends. Good chance that is how it will be at show time.
Of course, these polls are the earlier cauceses. I'm not so sure that the early states are going to influence this race the same way as other historical races.
Fantasy Politics...Dem nominee is Obama, GOP is Romney, independent is Clinton! Yes Clinton as an independent. Wow! An independent wins coming from the outside land down the stretch to win by 5 horse lenghts.
What I think will make a different for these potential front runners is their VP's.
If I were for the so called 2 party system(don't like it) I would pair clinton and Obama up.
GOP need a Romney to even keep with the DEMS. Dems are like on steroids folks!
I don't think the Dems want a Romney with all his experience. Very capable candidate as everything he touches turns to Gold. Apparently it is not luck. Has implemented very good systems that work.
How that all translates into a TKO against these behmouth DEM's will never know. Not to that race as of yet. All Fantasy.
The GOP do have alot on their plate and stand no chance if Romney sweeps the early states. Thus the Closesness of the race.
Guilini is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He is running as a GOP and should be a DEM. He would have been better off on the DEM ticket. Has some public rocgnition but no chance as a GOP. Maybe a DEM should put them as VP. I wouldn't because he has serious problems. WOlf in sheeps clothing. Not saying he is a bad person. Just his candidancy is flawed and should have been geared differently.
Would prefer Romney...Considering Clinton second.
Problem with Clinton is she is promising what she will not be able to complete or fulfill. The type of change they are propsing is pie in the sky. Some good change suggested...Just no way in heck it is going to happen. Atleast she has modified he game plan over the years. Alot of voters like her approach and believe she can create some change.
Chow!
Go Mitt
I am not surprised by Huckabee's negative trendline.  I gave $ to Huckabee's campaign before his surge in support, but don't support his candidacy any more. I agree with the Secetary of State - Huck's comments in the Foreign Affairs journal were ludicrous. They were a risky try to show some depth in foreign policy, but with opposite effect - like Pelosi breathlessly telling the world of her breakthrough with Syria while the Mideast was snickering at her. His amateur response to Bhutto was embarrassing. Talking about Pakistani illegals in the US? What? He did not know martial law had been lifted (wow-not a good sign if you are trying to sound serious) and I don't believe his explanation ("oh I meant reinstated") sounds like Edwards saying he wanted to learn about hedge funds so he invested in one that did subprimes in New Orleans. The Mormon innuendo has no place. I am an evangelical and thought MH was the one, gave money, wrote to Dobson and urged him to endorse Huck. But after the last 3 wks, one goofy statement after another, I no longer support him.
To Susan: And Obama will lose big in general election.
Yes here it is again, Chelse.. hillaryclinton.com
If Huckabee runs the country the way he ran Arkansas we won't have a country for long.He comes across as a sweet, witty person but look out he is A Wolfe in Sheeps Clothing.I'm not a Romney supporter but his ads are telling everyone the truth. THE TRUTH HURTS when you have told so many lies. The Arkansas Times calls Huckabee the Worst Dope From Hope.
I think Hillary will win the Iowa caucus on Thursday and Obama will finish third. This Obama guy is a phony just like Romney. The media is complicit in his rise in the polls especially Chris Matthews who does not see anything wrong with Obama. He will be crushed on Thursday and that will be the end of his wife's dreams of becoming the first lady.
Your link to the Republican results of the MSNBC/McClatchly/Mason-Dixon poll actually links to the Democrat results. The article "Polls show Iowa caucuses too close to call," http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22440088/, does the same thing. Please fix this.
What kind of education does Hillary have? It is my understanding she never received any degree.
Here it is! BUSH HAS BEEN AND STILL IS ON COCAIN/BEER/ WHESKY. HAS BRAIN DAMAGE. WENT UA FROM HIS UNIT>HE SHOULD OF BEEN COURT MARSHLED AND HAD HIS ASS KICKED OUT OF THE AIR GUARD. BUSH IS A PIECE OF DOG SHIT. HE HAS GOT THIS COUNTY IN A MESS/ PONHY WAR/ AND CAUSED THIS COUNTY TO BE A COUNTY THAT HAS LOST ITS WAY.CHINA AND RUSSIA/ JAPAN/ WILL SPLIT THE U.S.A. INTO 3 PARTS. THE U.S. FLAG WILL BE TAKEN DOWN AND SHIT ON/ BECAUSE OF THE ASS HOLE BUSH. IMPEACH THE PIECE OF CRAP. NOW FOR THE BITCH/ HILLaRY. SHE IS A COMMIE/ SO IS OBAMA. BILLY BOY IS A COMMIE AND PEDIFILE. ALL THREE SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL AND HUNG. ROMMY/ THOMASON/ RUDY/ARE TRUE AMERICANS. MACAIN IS A WETBACK / MEXICAN KISS ASS. HES A TIRD. THE # 1 MAN IS TOM METZER FOR PRESIDENT. HELL GET RID OF ALL ILLAGAL WET BACKS/ MUSLEM CAMEL HUMPERS/ ALL OTHER FORIEN PIECES OF SHIT. TOM METZER FOR PRESIDENT.
The Bible offers some sage advice that applies to politics:  "By their fruits ye shall know them", which can be applied to a candidate's past accomplishments as an indicator of their future performance.  Romney has flaws, as do all the candidates, both Dems and Repubs.  However, his record of accomplishments eclipses all the others by a wide margin.  In addition, he's not a career Washington politician, which increases his chances of making similar headway there even more likely.  I can easily see Romney being a good president--maybe even a great president.
Mike Huckabee is the only candidate running who is levelling with the American people about the unfixability of our tax system. There are only two choices- FairTax, or "Business As Usual."

I've lived long enough to know that meaningful tax reform on income is impossible. It's been tried for decades, and it fails. Why? Because of the inertial characteristics of Washington politicians, the system as its been distorted by the 16th Amendment, the Federal Reserve Act, and the institutionalization of withholding.

Our Founding Fathers could see the problem, and prohibited taxation without apportionment. Laurence Kotlikoff ( http://snipr.com/meltdowninprogress ) has shown how the current income tax system factors into an economic system destined for a crash because of profligate spending, the taking-for-granted of wage-earners' pocketbooks, disconnecting us workers from our earnings, causing us to have to labor more to meet savings goals because of the gov't monkey on our backs - in a progressive manner - keeping us working more, thinking less, chasing Freedom (by using our Chase Freedom (R) credit cards), while at the same time the government inflates prices at the cash register by taxing business and issuing Treasury notes so that the Fed can print more paper bills than there is production to justify them.

The unholy triumvarate, (bankers / lobbyists / politicians) have destroyed the purchasing power of our dollar steadily over the decades since the Federal Reserve was created (to ostensibly preserve the power of same). The first thing the then-new "small group of dominant men" (-Woodrow Wilson, 3:30 into http://snipr.com/freedom2fasciasm ) did was to crash the economy (1929), and permit its warned-in-advance members to buy up plenty of "bargain basement" assets to increase their own wealth. They've since created loopholes in securities oversight legislation (that was supposed to protect consumers) that is now destroying companies (the source of consumer employment http://snipr.com/nakedshortgdarkside ) all because well-intended, honest, civil citizens refuse to see how they've been robbed, believing that such skull-duggery could never happen in this great land of, by, and for the People.

The FairTax is revenue neutral, which means that it will support programs in place. But the way in which it will change tax collections will stop the damage that is being done by the income tax, and the montstrous tax code. Having restructured the tax system, we may attend to Congressional spending, the Federal Reserve, and the markets fiasco that is next up on the agenda.
RJ from Utah, your comments are completely out of line.  Biggots have no place in the political process. I know we have all read this a thousand times but apparently RJ is too stupid to catch on so I will state it again.  We are electing a President, not a Pastor.  I don't care what his religeos beliefs are, so long as he can fix the economy, save social security, level the playing field on foreign trade, fix our health care system, and yes, even fix our issues with foreign policy.  Mitt is the only man with the chops to do that.  Your fond of quotes so here is one for you Mathew 7:16 "by their fruits ye shall know them"   Look at the fruits of Mitt Romney and compare them to everyone else.  He is the only man that can run/save this country.
I agree with Luke's assessment of the Huckster. I think the ads contribute to Huck's demise, but it's really Huckabee himself, his atrocious record as Governor and his terrible gaffes. His foreign policy is something he's picked up out of a cracker-jack box and there's no question America can't afford to have someone like that in the White House. Iowans and Evangelicals are finely looking at this with both eyes.
chuck muller comments are completely innapropriate.  please take them off the blog site.
What kind of education does Hillary have? It is my understanding she never received any degree.

Julia Paliy Berkeley CA (Sent Sunday, December 30, 2007 2:38 PM)

If you can type and read well enough to post this stupid question, you can Google one of the thousand or so websites with bios of ALL the candidates. There is a difference between ignorance and stupidity...

From the White House official biography;

"As an undergraduate at Wellesley College, Hillary mixed academic excellence with school government. Speaking at graduation, she said, "The challenge now is to practice politics as the art of making what appears to be impossible, possible."

In 1969, Hillary entered Yale Law School, where she served on the Board of Editors of Yale Law Review and Social Action, interned with children's advocate Marian Wright Edelman, and met Bill Clinton. The President often recalls how they met in the library when she strode up to him and said, "If you're going to keep staring at me, I might as well introduce myself." The two were soon inseparable--partners in moot court, political campaigns, and matters of the heart.

After graduation, Hillary advised the Children's Defense Fund in Cambridge and joined the impeachment inquiry staff advising the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives. After completing those responsibilities, she "followed her heart to Arkansas," where Bill had begun his political career."
Aren't you glad you don't live in Iowa right now?  Talk about liar overload.  Clinton and Edwards and Romney and Giuliani need not try their crap down here in Texas.  We can tell a liar from across the room, and yes, sometimes we elect them (they are, after all, OUR liars)--but none of these losers need apply.
I think the Mike interview and comments on this blog just show the anti Christian sentiment that is prevalent in the US even among christians themselves. Majority of Americans are christian and the public loathe anybody with any tie to christianity. Mitt Romney is a Mormon and I have not heard any interview where his religion has been made an issue in the campaign. Look at the interview on Mike. His faith was being challenged. Democracy is appearing to be a race for the Minority and that is why there has been so much attack against christian institutions in the US. I blame Christians themselves because like myself, we have not been interested in politics and we love to turn the other cheek which is great but we are asked to pray for leaders and those in authorities because their actions affect us. If you are a christian and you follow the race and you think it is okay. I say shame on you. Contrary to popular opinion, it is the Christians who are being assaulted in the US. America takes Democracy to other part of the world and even toppled Sadam Hussein who is a Sunni Minority ruling a predominantly Shitte community. With these attacks on the majority (christians) and anything religious, what moral justifications do we have to interfere in Iraq. What democracy are we importing to other parts of the world. I am really disgusted and if you are a Christian and you are observing this, you should be disgusted.
I tell you folks, Friday can't get here soon enough.  The only winners will be the radio and television advertisers.

Obama was on Meet The Press - a lot of tough questions and I'm giving him a C- on his responses. He looks fine out on the stump but not so great when the heat is turned his way. A bit of flip flopping.

Hillary Clinton is the one I trust to get the job done!
Romney! All the way. He is the only one in that race with a clear track record. A winning well planned victory in every task he has taken on. I am not really in favor of his faith, but thats not why I choose a president. He is the best hope we have. Maybe that's just me belief because I have lived so many places and I prefer to call Masschusetts home. While I can say all the success in Mass. is not Romney he did not push us back in any way only forward. We cannot take chances here guys and gals this is our future and I for one would like our leader to be a winner.
Yuck.  I'm a Democrat and can assure MSNBC Ron Paul would be no more welcome in our party than in the Repubs or in America in general.  It's not suprising he has the highest neg/pos ration of any candidate.  For example, last week on Meet the Press he claimed the Civil War was a mistake and there should have been no action to free the slaves (he said they could just wait until the institution died out).  We Democrats want nothing to do with this vile, offensive, angry old man.  (Hypocritical too-- Russert nailed him by showing stats that he is the biggest porker in Washington, adding tons of earmakrs for his district)
Susan, Tampa, FL:

Totally wrong ! You should put it like this:

"I predict Hillary will be the winner, Edwards will be second, and Biden will be a surprise third.

Iowans like to surprise us. I think the surprise will be Obama comes fourth because they realized that counting on "speech guy" "just won't do for this election.

Hillary Clinton will go on to win in New Hampshire and will have the nomination secured by Feb. 5. "

Sorry, Susan, you should know better, Obama doesn't get "Y" in our state and he will have no chance to win the election, like Joe said in his morning show, "Republicans are scared if Hillary wins, and Republicans don't have to say a word if Obama is the nominee, are you kidding me ?"

With Hillary, people know at least know what she is fighting for, and she makes sense when she talks.
With Obama, people have no clue what he is talking about, and he can't talks right except pre-prepared speech. That is just the right reason Republicans are open their arms and welcome Obama on baord, AND THEN, TEAR HIM IN PIECES. He has no chance. Hope is hopeless.

REMEMBER THE OLD SONG DO THE HUCKABUCK, DO THE HUCKABUCK, IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT THEN YOU'RE OUT OF LUCK   mR. IVY LEAGUE LYING ROMMNEY NEEDS TO LEARN THE HUCKABUCK
