Hillary attends Iowa church

DES MOINES, IA -- Hillary and Chelsea Clinton went to church today -- for 13 minutes.

Clinton appeared at an 11:00 am service at Corinthian Baptist Church, a mostly African-American congregation here. After arriving about a half hour after the start of the service with daughter Chelsea and former Gov. Tom Vilsack in tow Clinton participated in a lengthy fellowship sharing (the second of the service), during which members greet each other and mingle. Approached -- but not mobbed -- by churchgoers who snapped cell-phone pictures of the senator, Clinton shook hands and posed for photos until the pastor herded the congregation back to their seats with a series of increasingly impatient "Amens."

Clinton made brief remarks at the service, beginning with a pious declaration of "this is the day the Lord has made." But despite her reverential tone, her remarks were not devoid of politics. Touting her years of work for the Children's Defense Fund, she said that she is running for president "in large measure" to ensure the future of America's children. "The American people need a president to be their champion," she said.

that is disgusting. Stayed for only 13 min. Im jewish and if a politician came in for only 13 min then left after photo ops and political stumps then I would go up to her and ask her to leave.

Politics and religion should never mix. I hate it that pastors and preachers and priests use their position to push their followers to vote. In my synagogue I have never had my rabbi tell me or the congregation how to vote. And if he did, we would tell him to stop.

To use faith like that is to me a slap in the face at all Americans. If your going to come at least have the decency to stay the whole time. Its not that long. We dont like politicans who use faith for their own political purposes.

I hope and pray that she does not win. We dont need people like her, the elites to govern this country any more. Give me someone who has shared the hardships of the average American, who knows not to use faith as a cheap political tool and who will tell us the truth.

Hillary cannot win the general election! And isn't that what is really important?? Her negatives are through the roof. And it's not likely that the almost 50% who say they could never vote for her are going to suddenly have a change of heart! She is probably the most polarizing political figure in modern political history. So why - WHY - would the Democrats be so very foolish and nominate this woman?? Just to try and put Bill Clinton back in the White House? If she was simply Hillary Rodham, and there was no Bill in the wings, would any Democrat support her?

One would think that Church is NOT a place to be spreading a POLITICAL message, and to be using a Church to show that she is as 'religious' as the Republicans....can she be any Less real?? Is this her way of "Looking good to the Republicans" too??

It would have meant a lot more if she had attended the entire service as a normal American and then held her political rally afterwards it would have looked a whole lot more real. The security concerns could have been dealt with just as easily and her message would have been closer to what she is trying (desperately) to portray.

To the guy from TX above, even though I will not vote for HRC, your comments are too over the top.
Some of my reasons have to do with the dynastic aspects of her candidacy. 'HER ROYAL SILLYNESS' has a problem with her own base(me for one). She(sleazy campaign) has pissed off many young people(JJ Dinner comments about Facebook)/attempts at suppressing the youth vote in Iowa)/planting questions/recent fundraising issues/insulting black voters using surrogates/pissing off many feminist who view her 'poor-me' card playing as lame/etc. The anti-war crowd will not come out in full force for her.
Not interested in seeing these 'characters' around her, roaming the White House halls. Her lack of candor. etc etc.

WHAT EXPERIENCE? (RELEASE ALL RECORDS)

Hillary's has experience but it's experience screwing up. Iraq, Iran, failed Health care, keeping Bill faithful, not reviewing the NIE and more. She basically just does whatever is popular. She IS good at that and that's the reason for her popularity.

Her foreign experience is in the realm of "meet and greet". Who needs that?

That is all experience being a politician. I want someone with proven experience of being a leader.

The only reason she is on the map is because she follows Bill. We need a leader - not a follower.
