Hillary attends Iowa church

Posted: Sunday, December 30, 2007 2:52 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Carrie Dann
DES MOINES, IA -- Hillary and Chelsea Clinton went to church today -- for 13 minutes.

Clinton appeared at an 11:00 am service at Corinthian Baptist Church, a mostly African-American congregation here. After arriving about a half hour after the start of the service with daughter Chelsea and former Gov. Tom Vilsack in tow Clinton participated in a lengthy fellowship sharing (the second of the service), during which members greet each other and mingle. Approached -- but not mobbed -- by churchgoers who snapped cell-phone pictures of the senator, Clinton shook hands and posed for photos until the pastor herded the congregation back to their seats with a series of increasingly impatient "Amens."

Clinton made brief remarks at the service, beginning with a pious declaration of  "this is the day the Lord has made." But despite her reverential tone, her remarks were not devoid of politics. Touting her years of work for the Children's Defense Fund, she said that she is running for president "in large measure" to ensure the future of America's children. "The American people need a president to be their champion," she said.

Plant a person in every Hillary event to ask this question where do you stand on illegal immigration, no not undocumented workers, illegal immigration, and you'll see the sweat on the forehead appear, the hesitation and Nancy and Harry whisper spin, spin we're already down to 14%,you see folks there really are a few million independent and conservative democrats and we will have a say in this election.
Isn't it illegal for a church to sponsor a particular candidate? This is assuming that the church is a non-profit organization. Of course this doesn't stop Huckabee from doing the same. Seriously though, after all of this is over with we need to have the FBI look into this. Something smells fishy to me.
Obama "preached" in church today as well.   He sounded positively like a minister with the tone and voice inflection.

Was that pandering?

I think so.
Why you should vote a democrat into the Oval-Office.
-To finally end this great long lasting economy.
-To turn tax paying workers into unemployment
   collectors.
-Sell missile technology to China for election fund
donations(oh wait, Billary already did that).
-While were at it might as well raise taxes.
-Preach separation of church and state, then go to
churches to be hypocrites and preach politics.
-Last but not least, cut the military, bargain with
the terrorists & ask them to not hurt us in
exchange for converting to Islam and obeying their
   Sharia law.
HILLARY CLINTON: One book that had a profound effect on me was The Return of the Prodigal Son by Henri J.M. Nouwen. It was given to me by a friend in 1994 after I had experienced some tragic and painful losses. I was reading a lot of Scripture and theology and other books of inspiration at the time. This book struck a responsive chord, because the story is such a moving and constructive parable about what matters in life.

"And in that, as he [Henri Nouwen] talks about the parable from the perspective of the father, the prodigal son, and the good son, who had to feel left out when the father took back the prodigal boy who had squandered his birthright. You read through that and there's a passage that just struck me," Hillary Clinton said. "And the phrase is, 'the discipline of gratitude.' ... I don't mean to sound out of touch, but there's so much that goes on in my life on a daily basis that I'm grateful for despite everything else that's going on. And then to think about gratitude as a discipline, so that every day gives you an opportunity to practice that gratitude, is very important to me. So there are days when I'm more chipper than others, but there isn't a day when I'm not trying at least to remember and be grateful for all that I have."
Hillary has no ethics nor does she have etiquette!!  This was really bold and inconsiderate of her!!  She will stoop to the lowest level in her pursuit of the White House!!  Please, Iowa, give us someone better than Hill-a-phony, Hill-a-ego, Hill-a-you-owe-me-the-presidency!!

SEAN AND MARK, THE TRUTH HURTS DOESN'T IT, THE ONLY WAY YOU COULD BE FOR HILLARY IS IF SHE IS PAYING YOU, WHICH IS OK, LIKE MOST DEMOCRATS YOU DON'T HAVE OR DON'T WANT A JOB.  ILL MISS YOU ON FOOD STAMP DAY, YOU'LL BE STANDING IN LINE.
It is over the top today, satan, 666, Hillary pressured Reno, stolen furniture, lesbian love affairs, the list goes on and on, people will believe anything to support their anger and hate of one woman.
Most likly Hillary was invited to the church so you can't blame her. Repubs are not the only ones who can use religion you know, they don't own faith. It is funny that Bushs early cocaine use was not important when he was running but Bills non-inhaling still resonates with this crowd, convienient memories don't make you smarter, they make you party hacks. If you want to argue experience that is an argument, but bringing up her thesis is grasping at straws in order to hear yourself David Anders, we all have seen your screaming redundant self-massages of hate hope it makes you feel good inside, most of us just laugh and move on.
Well, we've got plenty of dumbo right-wingers, racists, and wannabee pregnant moms....my advice when Hillary gets elected - move to Texas!!  No need to leave the country to live with foreigners - A.C. has got an extra room he'll rent to you while he's in Canada living with Nadeen.  Unfortunately for you, you'll have David Anders as your next door neighbor. Anne will be the barefoot and prenant one, and still voting republican.  The American Voter will be anything but - TX is a good place to spout your nonsense.  Here's the good part - lots and lots of churches in Texas, and no Hillary!!  She'll be way busy in Washington protecting your inalienable right to be idiots!  Vote Ron Paul in 2008 and help guarantee a Hillary victory!!!  Thank you -
We really should have very little regard for those who simply use religion for gain -- political, monetary or promotional.

A great discussion on authentic faith can be found at:

Everything that could possibly go wrong in America
in one package - David Anders, Tx...again, that's David Anders, Tx.

David, the less we see of your kind the better off an entire nation will be.

SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON IS THE ONLY DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE THAT CAN BEAT THE REPUBLICANS IN NOVEMBER.
Janet Louisville  You finally got in bed with the devil, thats ok  Bill's not jealous
The thing I  most dislike about Hillary is that she goes to church.  I hate church ladies! Man religious people always seems so stupid! I read the fairy tales but I know they are not real, I read the bible and I LMAO! If they call it something else it would most likely be on the NY Times best sellers list. It has sex, drugs, feats of magic, and every chapter is a cliff hanger.  Gets to preachy to make it much good and I think the guys writing it are so tanked on wine they try to out do each other!
Well happy New Year and do not believe what you read, see or hear, all with a truck load of salt.
Didn't vote for the 1st Clinton and NOT VOTING for the 2nd one. We have to remember what We the People want and she and Bill are not it. I find it a hard pill to swallow that we are supposed to get her as a package deal. You know Bill will have his say so about things again. Then it will start again as before but with the Wife.
