Romney hits McCain in ad

From NBC's Chuck Todd, Mark Murray and Domenico Montanaro
Romney goes after McCain on taxes, immigration and that he's essentially had his chance in Washington in this 30-second ad, running in New Hampshire. It cuts together man-on-the-street-style interviews with New Hampshire families hitting McCain on his record.

Here's the script for "Remember" (TV:30):

ROMNEY: "I'm Mitt Romney and I approved this message."
BOB DUFFY: "I believe John McCain's war record is outstanding."
MARIE PALING: "He's a true patriot and has served his country long and well."
BOB DUFFY: "However, his record in the US Senate leaves a lot to be desired."
GENE BOIS: "John McCain has been one of those Republicans that have been wrong on tax cuts."
RAY BRUN: "Opposing tax cuts that would have helped our family, supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants, taking jobs away from Americans."
COLLETT HILL: "He wrote the amnesty bill that America rejected."
BOB DEGANGE: "He's not really listened to the American people."
MARIE PALING: "He's had his chance in Washington to make things better."

Sorry, but neither Romney nor McCain would get my vote.  Both support President Bush.  As a matter of fact all Republicans do.  That's their problem.  I don't have an issue with them wanting to stay in Iraq, I have an issue with them not acknowledging that Bush screwed up big time by going into Iraq, that he lies to the American public, that he is secretive, doesn't listen to anyone and basically is a screw up.  Any republican that can say: President Bush has made many mistakes which I will not repeat. I will work with both Republicans and Democrats and not blindly follow any ideology.  President Bush made a very big mistake with Iraq, but we have to work together as a country to fix it.  In other words, anyone who supports Bush and is like him will not get my vote.
Mccain is a washed up gasbag and romney is a flip flopping phony.
Any one who ISN'T angry about where our country has been headed under business as usual leadership, isn't paying attention. The media has been pushing the "Edwards is too angry" line but most Americans have had it up to here with Bush policy, government secrecy and lies, the power of the health insurance, drug, and big oil lobbyists, the war in Iraq, the lousy middle class economy, etc., etc., etc.

If we want to change any of that we'd better pick somebody who isn't all sweetness, light and accommodation.  This ad tells the unfluffy truth. Is Edwards pure as the driven snow?  Of course not.  Just in comparison to all the other candidates.
I agree with you Teena---and every republican seems to agree with Bush on the Iraq war and everything else this administration represents(and they sure do not represent us)Watched September Dawn last night(about the mormons)----caused me to read up on the history of mormonism.Pretty scary stuff---they had their own president and govornment and believed in Blood Atonement the act of spilling the immigrants and jews blood for their own good ---in order to go to heaven.Just what we need in this country---Bush who listens to GOD and Romney who is GODby his title in the church.
Mitt Romney,

Or should I say Flip Flopper Romney!

ABORTION

From the Left:

Romney ran against Senator Edward M. Kennedy in 1994. During a debate, Romney declared: "I believe that abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I have since the time that my mom took that position when she ran in 1970 as a US Senate candidate. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years we should sustain and support it."
- Boston Globe, March 2, 2006

"I respect and will protect a woman's right to choose."
-2002 Questionnaire for the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL)
Boston Globe, July 3, 2005

From the Right:

"I am pro-life. I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother. I wish the people of America agreed, and that the laws of our nation could reflect that view. But while the nation remains so divided over abortion, I believe that the states, through the democratic process, should determine their own abortion laws and not have them dictated by judicial mandate."
- Boston Globe, Op-Ed, July 26, 2005

More from the Right:

"Every decision I have made as Governor in a very liberal state has been on the side of favoring life." – Governor Romney

STEM CELL RESEARCH

From the Left:

"Romney has decided to support experimentation on surplus frozen embryos from in-vitro fertilization procedures."
- National Review Online, February 11, 2005

"At a campaign appearance at Brandeis University in June 2002, Romney strongly endorsed stem cell research."
- Boston Globe, December 17, 2006  Read the article

From the Center:

"Governor Mitt Romney set off a storm of criticism yesterday after he declared in a published interview that he favored banning a specific type of stem cell research. Scientists and the leader of the state Senate accused him of trying to block a promising avenue of research, even as antiabortion groups assailed him for declaring that he did not object to stem cell research involving embryos from fertility clinics."
- Boston Globe, February 11, 2005  Read the article

From the Right:

"I studied the issue for many months, and entered into conversation with experts from across the nation who were looking for consensus solutions, like Stanford's Dr. William Hurlbut.  In the end, I became persuaded that the stem-cell debate was grounded in a false premise, and that the way through it was around it: by the use of scientific techniques that could produce the equivalent of embryonic stem cells but without cloning, creating, harming, or destroying developing human lives."
- Governor Mitt Romney, Op-Ed, "A Stem-Cell Solution," National Review Online, June 15, 2007

EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION

From the Left:

"When he ran for governor in 2002, Romney said he supported expanding access to the emergency contraception pill, a high dose of hormones that women can take to prevent pregnancy up to five days after sex . . . On a questionnaire Planned Parenthood gave to the gubernatorial candidates in 2002, Romney answered 'yes' to the question, 'Do you support efforts to increase access to emergency contraception?' "
- Boston Globe, July 7, 2005

From the Right:

"Yesterday I vetoed a bill that the Legislature forwarded to my desk. Though described by its sponsors as a measure relating to contraception, there is more to it than that. The bill does not involve only the prevention of conception: The drug it authorizes would also terminate life after conception."
- Governor Mitt Romney, Op-Ed, "Why I Vetoed The Contraception Bill," Boston Globe, July 26, 2005  Read the article

GAY RIGHTS

From the Left:

"All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual orientation. While he does not support gay marriage, Mitt Romney believes domestic partnership status should be recognized in a way that includes the potential for health benefits and rights of survivorship."
- Romney's 2002 campaign website

"Mitt and Kerry Wish You a Great Pride Weekend! All citizens deserve equal rights, regardless of their sexual preference"
- A flier handed out at "Gay Pride" by the Romney/Healey Campaign  See the flier here

"We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and a bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns [grammar in context] President Clinton's "don't ask, don't tell, don't pursue" military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation's military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share…"
- Governor Romney letter to Log Cabin Republicans, October 6, 1994  Read the letter here

From the Right:

Lopez: "And what about the 1994 letter to the Log Cabin Republicans where you indicated you would support the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and seemed open to changing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the military? Are those your positions today?

Gov. Romney: "No. I don't see the need for new or special legislation. My experience over the past several years as governor has convinced me that ENDA would be an overly broad law that would open a litigation floodgate and unfairly penalize employers at the hands of activist judges...As for military policy and the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy, I trust the counsel of those in uniform who have set these policies over a dozen years ago. I agree with President Bush's decision to maintain this policy and I would do the same."

MARRIAGE AMENDMENT

From the Left:

In 2002, before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court declared same-sex marriage protected by the Constitution, Romney denounced as "too extreme" the effort by pro-family groups to enact a preemptive state Marriage Protection Amendment prohibiting homosexual marriage, civil unions and same-sex public employee benefits.
- Boston Phoenix, May 14-20, 2004

From the Right:

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough: "Do you support a national constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage?"

Governor Romney: "Boy, I sure do. You know, that's a topic that's really, I think, very important to the country because marriage is not just about adults. Marriage is about the development and nurturing of kids, and in my view, the development of a child is enhanced by having a mom and dad. And so, I think it's very important that we have a national standard because marriage is a status. You get married in one place and then you move to another, you're still married at least in the eyes of the community and the children and the benefits may not follow you, but ultimately we're going to have one standard of marriage in this country and that standard ought to be one man and one woman."
- MSNBC's "Morning Joe" September 17, 2007

GUN RIGHTS

From the Left:

"He [Romney] is a supporter of the federal assault weapons ban."
- Romney 2002 campaign website

More from the Left:

In his 1994 US Senate run, Romney backed two gun-control measures strongly opposed by the National Rifle Association and other gun-rights groups: the Brady Bill, which imposed a five-day waiting period on gun sales, and a ban on certain assault weapons.

"That's not going to make me the hero of the NRA," Romney told the Boston Herald in 1994.

At another campaign stop that year, he told reporters: "I don't line up with the NRA."
- Boston Globe, January 14, 2007  Read the article

From the Right:

"Americans should have the right to own and possess firearms as guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution," said Governor Romney. "I'm proud to be among the many decent, law-abiding men and women who safely use firearms."
- Governor Romney, News Release, January 12, 2007

WAITING PERIODS FOR GUNS

From the Left:

Regarding the Brady Bill which required waiting periods to buy a handgun, Romney stated, "I don't think [the waiting period] will have a massive effect on crime but I think it will have a positive effect."
- Boston Herald, August 1, 1994

From the Right:

"Romney says he still backs the ban on assault weapons, but he won't say whether he stands by the Brady Bill.  And after the gun show tour, his campaign declined to say whether he would still describe himself as a supporter of tough gun laws."
- Boston Globe, January 14, 2007  Read the article

MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

From the Left:

"The minimum wage is important to our economy and Mitt Romney supports minimum wage increase, at least in line with inflation."
- Romney 2002 campaign website

From the Right:

Governor Mitt Romney yesterday rejected the Legislature's plan to raise the state minimum wage to $8 an hour over two years, angering Democratic lawmakers and advocates who accused him of abandoning a 2002 campaign pledge to significantly boost the pay of low-wage workers.
- Boston Globe, July 22, 2006  Read the article

EDUCATION

During his 1994 campaign for Senate he continually called for the abolishment of the Department of Education.

IMMIGRATION

From the Left:

In a November 2005 interview with the Boston Globe, Romney described immigration proposals by McCain and others as "quite different" from amnesty, because they required illegal immigrants to register with the government, work for years, pay taxes, not take public benefits, and pay a fine before applying for citizenship.

"That's very different than amnesty, where you literally say, 'OK, everybody here gets to stay,' " Romney said in the interview. "It's saying you could work your way into becoming a legal resident of the country by working here without taking benefits and then applying and then paying a fine."

Romney did not specifically endorse McCain's bill, saying he had not yet formulated a full position on immigration. But he did speak approvingly of efforts by McCain and Bush to solve the nation's immigration crisis, calling them "reasonable proposals."

Romney also said in the interview that it was not "practical or economic for the country" to deport the estimated 12 million immigrants living in the US illegally. "These people contribute in many cases to our economy and to our society," he said. "In some cases, they do not. But that's a whole group we're going to have to determine how to deal with."
- Boston Globe, March 16, 2007  Read the article

From the Right:

In his appeals to conservative voters, Romney has made the Arizona senator's work on immigration one of his favorite targets. When McCain and other senators unveiled the latest reform bill two weeks ago, Romney called it the "wrong approach" and immediately launched a television ad slamming "amnesty" for illegal immigrants.
- Boston Globe, June 1, 2007  Read the article

TAXES

From the Left:

"Governor Romney…imposed a slew of fee hikes and tax 'loophole' closures….The largest of these was $259 million worth of fee hikes in FY 2004, the bulk of which came from higher Registry of Deeds fees.  Smaller fee hikes, including higher charges for boaters and golfers, we imposed in FY 2003 and FY 2005.  Romney also sought $128 million worth of so-called tax loophole closures for FY 2004; $70 million for FY 2005; and $170 million for FY 2006, which were later reduced to $85 million due to backlash from business leaders."
- Club for Growth's White Paper on Mitt Romney

"Romney continues to oppose the flat tax with harsh language, calling the tax 'unfair.'"
- Club for Growth's White Paper on Mitt Romney

Romney didn't support President Bush's tax cuts in 2003.  That earned him praise from liberal Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA)
- Boston Globe, April 11, 2003.

From the Right:

"I said no to a tax hike; raising taxes hurts working people and scares away jobs. I also said no to more borrowing; borrowing just shifts our problems to the backs of our kids...Instead, I went after waste, inefficiency, duplication, and patronage."
- Governor Romney, Boston Globe, October 24, 2005

NO NEW TAXES PLEDGE

From the Left:

In 2002, Romney broke with his predecessor, Jane Swift, and Republican governors before her by declining to sign a written vow not to raise taxes once in office.

- Boston Globe, January 5, 2007  Read the article

From the Right:

Almost five years after he refused to sign a "no new taxes" pledge during his campaign for governor, Mitt Romney announced yesterday that he had done just that, as his campaign for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination began in earnest.
- Boston Globe, January 5, 2007  Read the article

CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS

From the Left:

Governor Romney has changed his position on key campaign finance reform issues several times during public life. During his 1994 Senate campaign, he held far left positions that advocated for abolishing PACs and creating strict campaign spending limits.

- Club for Growth's White Paper on Mitt Romney

From the Right:

As he runs for President, Romney abandoned his previous stance and has come out as a harsh critic of McCain-Feingold, and those presidential candidates who support it. His transformation has even propelled him to call for the legislation's repeal.
- Club for Growth's White Paper on Mitt Romney

From the Right:

He also told Fox news his favorite book is the The Bible

I am sorry to see Obama taking an early lead.  He is a muslim for christsake.  What is the matter with people.
McCaine is for ammesty.  No vote for me. Clinton is a phoney.  The Iowians better get real
AS HUCKABEE SAID, AND HE S THE FRONTRUNNER, MC CAIN IS AN AMERICAN HERO, AND A GREAT SENATOR, SO RICH BOY ROMNEY WHO BROKE COMPANIES WHERE HE COULD TAKE THEM OVER AND FIRE PEOPLE IS A LOSER FOR LYING ABOUT HIM AND HUCKABEE.  LOOKS LIKE HE S GOING TO LOSE THOSE MILLIONS HE SCREWED PEOPLE OUT OF, TO THE TV STATIONS.
Oh please! Why does anyone listen to Romney or McCain. One thing we do not need is a brought and sold business executive in the White House.
Give me a break ! The GOP (Gov't of Pigs) wants as always, to divert Americans away from the real problems. The middle class is going bankrupt, millions are losing their homes. The credit card companies are raping us. Oil companies are raping us. People can not afford health care and drugs and to heat their homes, if they still have one. And all the GOP can do is make you worry about Mexican's trying to feed themselves and their families. Are americans that stupid. I think Iowa choose Bush. That should tell us a lot.
Oops.  Saw the picture from John Edwards ad and, silly me, assumed you were showing that one.  Iwas talking about the Edwards ad being truthful and non-fluffy.
Wow, HMT, where are you getting your information?  The only blood atonement was that of Jesus Christ, and it will be the last.  Seriously, accepting the spilling of others' blood for one's own gain?  Ridiculous.  And no, Romney has no title that makes anyone think he's a God.  You may need to relax a little bit and check your sources.

Good luck!
I think you hit the nail on the head John my buddes    say only vote for Edwards or no vote
What tax cuts for families? This has been the greatest myth of this administration that they have done everything for families. The haves have more while the rest of us struggle everyday. Mitt sounds like he will be the same as Bush, do nothing and then pretend he is helping average americans. PEE YOU Mitt, you are so out of touch you can't see the truth.
Wages that have not kept up with inflation, weak dollar, trade deficits, deficit spending, housing market in shambles, health care eating away at average americans savings and all the repubs can talk about is tax cuts that are part of the problem. Can't pay for a war unless we borrow from the chinese, good idea boys, we owe our lives to the communists.
Hey "Evangels" - Go ahead and vote for your Baptist buddy Huckabee... Catholic or not, I will lead the charge for Mormon Mitt over your brainless baptist minister Huckabee ANY DAY!  At least Romney has a brain (2 Harvard Masters degrees) - YOUR "just like one of us" Huckabee will ruin this nation faster than you can say "jimmy carter"!
(How do you like a little of your OWN religious bias thrown at you people??)
All I can say is that I am from MA and have lived there for 12 years.  It is a much better place to live in now than it was when I first moved there.  I attribute a lot of this to Romney, especially when you consider that the MA government is about 85% democrat.  If he can do this in MA, he can certainly do it outside of MA where the field is much more level.
Not only is McCain's voting record questionable but he is unstable; I've seen him snap at people for the slightest provacation--not a good quality for a president. Also, ask him about his vote to take land away from Navaho grandmothers in his own state.
Mike from the encycolopedias and History books---do your own investigating----watch September Dawn the video---listen to the descendants of the Meadows Massacre. The Blood Atonement was supposed to send the victims to Heaven the the murderer---they were just doing GODS work for HIM.Think what you want ynot asking you to agree with me anyway---your vote is personal to you same as mine is to me.
And heck man, mccain lost two high performance fighter jets before he was a POW so we know he wasn't a very good pilot either.
I'm glad to see someone with "Catholic" roots finally stepping up to the "Baptist Bullies"... Your religion is getting a REAL BAD NAME from the way you've treated your fellow man (Romney)...  You've got plenty of nerve to pretend like YOU have a corner on religion.  Romney is much more impressive in the way he handles himself - not being a two-face liar like Mike Huckabee.  Go Guiliani!
Anybody who thinks Bush's tax cuts helps anyone but the uber rich is just plain stupid (but this is hardly surprising).

"No vote for me."
John Sutphen--I guess you did not catch the part about Obama's heritage being Muslim, not his religion.  I guess from wherever your from you must not be well informed because that has been debunked.  By the way this is a free country (unless you don't want it to be) and a person is free to practice whatever religion they feel like, whether you or I like it or not.
You go, Rudy McRomney!!  Anyone but Huckabee!!  Please, let's not send a bigot with a laughable understanding of foreign relations up against the democratic nominee.  I'd rather send a proven leader, a foreign relations expert, or a guy who can reorganize the government to cut wasteful spending.  I can't in good conscience vote republican if Huckabee is on the ticket.
R. J. Utah (Sent Thursday, January 03, 2008 12:20 PM)

Is this mile-long post really necessary every single day? Come on, I'm getting carpal tunnel from scrolling past it.
David you are an idiot.  Of course Huckster said good things about McCain because they both have to go after the most qualified candidate.  Romney showed Hucksters positions but he never attacked him for his ethical violation (gift registry, taking money for speeches while gov., misuse of gov't plane, stealing furniture while moving out of mansion, destroying gov't harddrives).  Romney turned around companies, turned around a scandal plagued olympics and since when is being successful a bad thing in America.  I teach my children that if they stay in school and work hard America is the type of country that rewards you.  Huckster feels it is better to beg other people to support you and your family.  Please the Huckster has fooled people with his aw shucks I am one of you he is not qualified to lead a 7-11 let alone the United States.
HMT, before you go knocking on Mormons, you might want to get your facts straight.  It boggles my mind to read so many of the uninformed people that pulled their "facts" from an anti-mormon website.  "believed in Blood Atonement the act of spilling the immigrants and jews blood for their own good"  What on earth are you talking about?  At least find a non-biased source before you embarrass yourself in a public forum.  Religion should not be a determining factor of which candidate we choose, but sadly, it still very much is. Other than having his law degree from Harvard to add to his MBA from the same institution, Romney is in the business of saving businesses in financial distress.  Our country is in severe economic distress, and Romney is the right candidate to lead us out if it.
Romney or Edwards, there is no other choice.
"And heck man, mccain lost two high performance fighter jets before he was a POW so we know he wasn't a very good pilot either. "

Could be he had a lot of guts to get into a second one?

Tell us of your war experience, Dave.

ALL I WANTED WAS FOR MY LDS.
OH LORD   ALMIGHTY!!!!

AMEN.
McCain was smart to oppose the tax cuts since we were going into a period of conflict.  I think that was smart since money doesn't magically appear.  How else are we to pay for a misguided and mismanaged war?  The fact that McCain isn't talking anything about how to reduce the need for our troops to be in harms way is somewhat questionable.

Romney blindly follows the lies of lower taxes are always better as well as less government is always better.  I don't think most people believe that.  In most practical things, most people won't function like that either.
This is to HMT-Mi. If you think that a doctrine that was never practiced by a religion is scary what about the Religious freedom those who opposed the chruch gave to it? Oh, because thats right no Mormon ever died in a country that is supposed to have religioious freedom just because they were a Mormon. And no protestant preachers were ever at the heads of mobs thirsty for blood and actually exacted it and raped those who could not defend themselves. You are right because the State of Missiouri and Illiois never had to issue a offical appologies for the extermination order given by govoner boggs to shoot on site any mormon or the death of Joseph Smith. You are right Blood atonment (again a doctrine never practiced by the mormons) is really scary! It sounds to me like you should do some research on both sides of that coin... Brigham Young spoke very little of Blood Atonment and it was actually a Law in the Mosaic laws and the church has Ex-commed anyone who ever practiced it. Anyone who has ever taken part in the shedding of blood, not in the defense of his country or commutiny, has been Ex-commed from the church. That includes the Mountain Medows Massecre, those responsible for that tragedy were Excommunicated from the church and then sent to prison. I love how even still there is this kind of religious biggotry in this country, if you dont like a religion, practice your own and show people how it influences your life for good to help them understand how beneficial it can be for them if they want to join yours great, Teach dont tear down. Mitt Romney may have switched sides on a few issues and he may not be the best candidate but bringing up Mormonisim AGAIN is not the way he should be challenged it should be about his political stances and his ability to lead thats what should be brought up here not his religion.
"Our country is in severe economic distress, and Romney is the right candidate to lead us out if it."

With tax cuts for the rich. And borrowing from the Chicom to finance the war in Iraq.
RJ, get a life, live in the now, not the past only.....................
Latest poll from NH just out has Romney makingup some of his deficit: http://www.campaigndiaries.com/2008/01/confusion-reigns-in-iowa.html
HMT-MI, others have already explained why your posting is so stupid... but just one more point, "September Dawn" was a terrible and inaccurate Hollywood movie that received horrible reviews even from the most agnostic of reviewers.  Get a life, please.
Sharon, you need mental help, please seek it. I actually read through your post and from what I got... which wasnt much, Im pretty sure you need to stop tapping the Caps lock key on your key board and also need to seek a really good Psychiatrist. What on earth are you talking about, are you trying to rhyme? are you trying to tell a tale? what do your words mean? It looks like what happens when a writer has writer's block and just vents a bunch of crap so they can just get it out is that what happened... writers vomit?
"And no protestant preachers were ever at the heads of mobs thirsty for blood and actually exacted it and raped those who could not defend themselves."

Damn Muslims! It must have been them.
This is completely off subject but Rescue Dawn (as opposed to September Dawn) is a stunning flick that came out this past summer, didn't stay too long in the theaters and is now on DVD.  Great film! Great performances!
The voters will prove that dishonest men who try to buy the vote will never succeed.  Romney can't win on his message...so he spends tens of millions of his own money to launch misleading attacks on his opponents.

He's lied about his dad marching with MLK (his dad was there 3 days later...when King was already gone), he lied about the NRA endorsing him (have the ever endorsed someone who's never owned a gun?), he lied about being "a lifelong hunter", etc.  The guy's a resume-inflator.

He's also flip flopped on abortion, gay rights, gun control, the troop surge, etc.  And...while he didn't raise taxes...he raised fees nearly $500mil per year (which in my opinion is a cowardly way to screw the tax payers and attempt to look "fiscally conservative").  He also mandated a healthcare plan in Massachusetts that included a $50 co-pay for abortions.  How is that pro-life??

And denying the pardon to the decorated military officer from Massachusetts (Bronze Star recipient), Anthony Sarcosta, because he shot a friend in the arm with a BB gun at age 13 (which didn't even break the skin)???  Sarcosta isn't able to fulfill his dream to become a police officer because Romney wants to look good politically.  That's cold hearted and un-American.

And if Mormonism were accepted by most Americans as Christianity...Romney would be touting it in every campaign speech along the way.

No thanks...I'll stick with Huckabee...and if he goes down, I'll be behind McCain.
honestly neither John McCain or Mitt Romney need to be in the white house. McCain supports bush and the war in iraq which is making our national deficit increase greatly. the more we fight in iraq the more the middle class and poor get taxed.

Romney is just a fence riding hypocrite who wants votes.
he doesn't want to help the american people.

for republicans go Congressman Ron Paul is all for the constitution and wants to fix our national debt which means ending the war in iraq. also Dr. Pauls voting record is consistent. he is the true conservative. and has my vote.
George Bush is a genius!
Think America, look at each of the canidates records not their religion.  The main tenant of democracy is freedom of religion.  Did anyone see any Mormon doctrine passed in Mass Gov? I hear this Baptist evang. propaganda all the time.  The preachers loose their incomes, that is why they are so scared of the laymen in the Mormon church.
Expecting Romney or other present day mormons to have an answer or any type of logical connection to the actions of those that carried out the Mtn Mdws massacre is like asking why Ken supported the inquistion or Babtists owned slaves(ken and babtists i hope you get my sarcasm)
I’ve read all of your diatribes about the candidates. It looks to me like you should all be endorsing Ron Paul.
Hey Sharon from Folsom, HUH?
Stream of conciousness or stream of unconciousness either why you make no sense/ Calm down and reread your words before posting. maybe you do have an idea but after trying to find it I moved on.
Go Iowa, Go America!
to those that suggest I get a life---are you now telling me what movies I can watch before you have even taken office?I can only comment about what I have been blasted with about Romney.I do not care what religion you are and it is none of your business how I believe.Kira you too are stupid.
HMT- your words have almost nothing to do with Romney, and Kira didnt say YOU were stupid she said your posting what you did was stupid (the action can be stupid even though the person may not be) and no one is telling what you can and cant watch as a movie this is America and no one can tell you that. If you had actually read the posts that were in opposition to what you said it was about the way you bigotedly portrayed the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints (Mormons). You may not be a Bigot but what you said certainly was a bigoted comment. What was said back to you was telling that your comments were wrong, unresearched, and biased. As a Mormon myslef I have had to come to terms with each of those issues personally and have had to do a lot of reasearch in BOTH sides of the arguement. I'm not going to get into a battle of peity here but I will say that you need to do more research on the subject I dont think it will convert you to mormonism so you will be ok if you read what the chruch has to say about it. LDS.org released a great article about the MMM tragedy I suggest you read that and see if it doesnt shed a little more light on the subject for you. You can do a search on the webpage for that subject and it should be one of the first articles it brings up.
