McCain post-debate

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- After the debate, a very enthused McCain stopped by Jillian's Restaurant to greet supporters. The crowd greeted him with a chant of "John McCain, John McCain" and "Mac is Back".

McCain compared tonight's energy to 2000 saying, "It feels a little bit like it did about 8 yrs ago"

He also sounded optimistic, "The momentum is there, the polling numbers are up. We have a couple more days and we got to go all out and it's probably going to be up to who gets out the vote. I'm grateful for your support, I'm grateful for everything. We have a tough 48 hours ahead."

"We have town hall meetings, we have another debate tomorrow, and we have seven rally events around the state on Monday. "I will never ever forget how great this experience has been. Some call it Lazarus like."

"I think we are on the road for victory here and when I come to the White House I want to say to you, I will never forget the wonderful experience we've had in this wonderful state and I'll say it again on Tuesday night at the victory celebration."

Huckabee was a BUFFOON in tonight's debate.

McCain is strong on foreign affairs - but weak on affairs in his own household - and therefore isn't disciplined enough to run the nation.

If the election were ONLY about foreign affairs - McCain would get my vote. But this country also needs a brilliant fiscal mind for business - meaning Mitt Romney, who would be every bit as tough on defense and much less intolerant.

Huckabee = Not even close to electable in 11/08. A nomination of Huckabee = Obama as President

You know, McCain really tries to sell himself on his foreign affairs experience. But to be honest, I just don't trust this guy with his finger on the button. He's just too trigger happy. We need someone who takes a more rational approach to things. And his little "Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran" piece recently - NOT PRESIDENTIAL. Please go back and serve our country in the Senate McCain. This isn't your race.

Finally people are waking up to the fact that there is a difference between being a good actor that can pay lip service, than a man of substance. The hypocrisy of Huckabee was very apparent tonight. He has been a whiner about what he calls “negative attacks” yet look at his poor behavior at the debate! Romney is the smartest, most successful, most secure individual running for office. He wants to serve the people of the United States, not for status, not for pay, but because he loves America, he loves Americans.

Have we forgotten why the majority of people on both sides of the isle loved and respected President Ronald Reagan? It was because he loved America. He put America first, before himself or anything else. Romney clearly demonstrates that same character trait. He has proved he will do what the people want him to do; he has been successful in everything he has done. So America, tell him what you want, he’ll deliver, believe that.

get real- reagan saddled the u.s. with 10% unemployment and that was when we really began to sell our souls to the mideast for oil. I remember it well as I lived through it.he also armed bin laden and his mujahedeen thus starting the al quiada.

romney- king of flip-flops- the comercials have already been made. he made health care mandatory republicans that is how he got it for all. I thought republicans stood firmly against mandates. that is why he refuses to talk about his mass. plan now. romney came from old money and made it into more money buy selling out working peoples' jobs with company buyouts.

mccain - keating 5, why won't the news media discuss this????? it broke the savings and loan industry and destroyed generations of trust in banks. yet all remain silent. romney should bring up this and the trust issue.

I have never gotten the sense from Romney that he was driven by a love of America...Guliani had a great line in the debate when he pointed out Romney would have blasted Reagan in his attack ads!

The true, tested leader who has literally suffered for his country is John McCain. Romney believes that having his sons on the campaign bus with him qualifies them as having sacrificed for their country.

What was with the gang up on Romney all about? Huckabee and McCain both say they don't like negative campaigning yet both insulted Romney in a very classless way. What's more, they both had stupid grins on their faces after the mudslinging. I have never liked Huckabee but I was on the fence between McCain and Romney. McCain definitely just made my mind up for me, I'm now with Mitt.

Romney was the only one that tried to talk issues while everybody else was just trying to attack Romney. Very shameful.

McCain is an American Hero and he is more than a little gruff lol. Why is no one talking of the way he just kept going after Romney...It was a little mean. How will he deal with other leaders that will be even more harsh...I could just see a convo with McCain and Kin Jong Ill or Putin...really other pugnacious world leaders better watch out. I lost a lot of respect for McCain after tonight's performance. Shame on him for his gradeschool mentality toward Romney! And Huckabee - well, we knew that self destruction was just around the corner for him. McCain's the one that took me by surprise. Now my choices are down to two - Giuliani and Romney.

McCain showed the world what a liar and deceptive person Mitt Romney really is, Almost every question posed to Mitt on his record and statements from the past he either denied or tried to say that it was a misquote, do we really need a person like him as President. I THINK NOT.

This is not the great McCain of 2000, who I really admired and hoped would win. It's fine that he has been solid with Bush, but we fought a war where, back home, people were building McMansions with phony mortgages and a lot of illegal labor. The economy has caught up with Bush. If we are really going into a time of major military engagement, it won't be like it was during the Iraq thing. Real war, I fear, sucks.

I feel sorry for McCain. He probably changed Arizona, where I grew up, more than any other politician. I worked for JM's opponent, first senate run. That was a tired Mo Udall party, the Dems. Now the GOP is tired. The economic policies, Reagan through Bush, are tired. You can say the surge is working, but we are stuck with bad choices in Pakistan, losing Turkey from Europe. We buy too much oil from people who don't really respect us.

It's hard to make being the number one backer of a 33% Prez into a great asset, at least next November.

McCain is the old war monger and open border candidate.His state of AZ is a mess with illegals. He's mentally unstable and is still stuck in Vietnam. War is his answer to everything. I don't trust him and would never consider voting for him.He should retire.

Everyone loved Ronald Reagan? He was a nun murderer. He told America "I will not negotiate with terrorists!" after he'd already cut a deal with the Iranians. He started the biggest wealth shift since WWII - from the middle class to the wealthy. Until monkey boy, he ran the largest debt in history. YOU loved him, OK?

I'm glad that at least some right wingers are leaving the obvious kooks and going with McCain. I think he's a war monger, but he's the only one with character amongst a bunch of just plain characters.
