Please tell us how much of the poll was conducted pre-Iowa. I'm guessing 2/3rds? It's kind of an awkward timing. And check out the Dem debate analysis over at Campaign Diaries: http://www.campaigndiaries.com/2008/01/democratic-debate-reveals-just-how-much.html
One Republican, maybe Mitt Romney, slipped into truth mode, and blurted "We've got to stop letting Oil companies dictate policy." What a slip-up. I remember when SUVs where going to be classified as trucks and the Oil companies got SUVs switched to automobile classification.
way to go new hampshire  you re keeping the immoral Clinton's right on top, guess what he will give you girls a cigar, or to you guys if you re lucky he might grope your wife.  REMEMBER ITS 2 PERVERTS FOR ONE

BY THE WAY HAVE YOU LEARNED TO PLAY TO PLAY THE NEW GAME YOUR ROCKSTAR BILL INVENTED, ITS CALLED HIDE THE CIGAR, THE DEMS LOVE IT, THEY WORSHIP BILL
If Obama wins the Nomination, my vote is for any Republican... Write it on the wall, that is going to be the case of lot of undecided voters...
THE EMPRESS HAS NO CLOTHES! The true nature of Hillary is starting to emerge. She has been a great SENATOR but remember, she has been a SENATOR ON A MISSION - Hillary's mission has always been - TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT! She lied continuously about that. Last night, to me she seemed like a witch, almost out of control. What happen to the soft, sentual, voice and the Mona Lisa smile? Hillary (like most candidates) lacks CHARISMA - an essentual element of leadersip. BILL has it, OBAMA really has it, ROMNEY has it, HUCKABY...?  Do we really want to listen to "THAT VOICE THAT WE HEARD LAST NIGHT" four 4 years?
I am a very hopeful Obama supporter. If Obama takes New Hampshire do any of you think he will have enough momentum to carry him through to the nomination?
Romney is ahead in the NH Primary!

The primary "began" 4 weeks ago when absentee ballots went out. When the upper middle class, middle aged and older people were heading to Florida. At that time, according to RCP, Romney had a 15 point lead over 2nd place Giuliani. I don't have any data on what the return patterns are on NH absentee ballots, either this year or historically, but imagine that it was accelerated for some by Christmas, and delayed for some. But the point is that many of the kind of voters that are currently responding to McCain in polls have ALREADY voted for ROMNEY. This isn't IA.
OBAMA- MORE ELECTABLE.
BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER
ISN'T CORRUPT
HONEST
WINS WITH HOPE VISION

CLINTON- LEAST ELECTABLE
MOST POLORIZING PERSON RUNNING
CORRUPT
DISHONEST WONT GIVE STRAIGHT ANSWERS
WINS WITH ATTACK ADDS AND THE CLINTON MACHINE
Please, let it be McCain-Obama. What could be a more fascinating election?
Obama 08

Something great is happening here.  Can you feel it?
I think what these numbers show as much as anything is that Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney's supporters aren't going anywhere.

If the other candidates can consistently build their leads, they will overtake them. If not, not.

I'm not supporting Ron Paul (yet :-) but I really think the media should keep a close eye on Ron Paul here in NH.  He rang the bells of every libertarian in the state last night.
The Obama train is on the roll and picking momentum. Yesterday's debate demonstrates that John Edwards understands it and has joined it. Now, let me invite you, while we are waiting for President Obama inauguration next January, to watch this interesting movie entitled "the Hilary campaign meltdown."

Do not get me wrong folks! Hilary is a good person but just not good enough for the Presidency of the United States of America.

She does deserve a shot at becoming the first female ever Senate Majority Leader!   That is the kind of change the country needs from her.
Fired Up!  Ready to go!
Read the quote from John Zogby below on the release of his latest poll this morning.

Pollster John Zogby: “Make no mistake about it, there is movement here. Only 50% of this sample is after the Iowa caucus results were known and there has been a 5-point swing on the Democratic side. Clinton started out leading 32% to 26% over Obama and now she is in a dead heat at 31% to 30%. Obama has won in that part of the sample taken since Iowa – and just this past one day alone Obama led by 8 points"

There has not been sufficient time for the Iowa "bounce" to be fully calculated and tomorrow's numbers will be telling.  Zogby's honest about it and the others seemingly ignore it.  The ARG poll shows Obama in fron by 12 and Rasmusssen by 10.  It's probably closer than that, but we'll see.  As in Iowa, the only poll that matters is Tuesday's vote, but Obama is clearly gaining support in NH
How come none of the news people picked up on the little tidbit that Obama's campaign manager in NH is a lobbyist for the drug companies? I'd like to know more about that. I think Obabma comes across as stiiff, inexperienced and not at all presidental
ARG latest poll since the Iowa caucuses shows Obama with a 12 point lead over Clinton.

Rasmussen shows a 10 pt lead by Obama over Clinton.
The results of Iowa have led me to suspect that the polls are missing something. It seems that the whole model of "likely voter" may be out the window. In most of the elections I can remember (I'm an old guy), there was no excitement. It was a lesser of two evils kind of election. Bush/Dukakis, Clinton/Bush, Clinton/Dole, Bush/Gore, Bush/Kerry...most of the time I was voting against somebody...not for. (My first ever vote was for Nixon) Heck, most of the time I voted for none of the above (Perot, Nader). This election is almost certainly different. In Iowa and perhaps NH, we'll wait and see, there seems to be a whole new, energized, and excited group of voters. Those voters that are not usually included in the "likely voter" model. Until the last DMR poll in Iowa, no one seemed to recognize that the turnout would be so high. Maybe it's Obama...or maybe it's just that people are so fed up with Bush that they can't wait to vote him out...whatever it is, it's driving a lot more people to vote.

One caveat...I was a registered Republican, although I haven't voted Republican since Reagan. (Haven't voted for many Dems either, by the way.) I have recently switched my registration to Democrat. Why? I want to vote for Obama, (or any Democrat for that matter) and in my state, I must be a registered Dem to do that. I wonder how many others have switched, or have newly registered, for the same reason.

At any rate, I will be looking closely at the NH vote. If Obama wins by say 5-10% more than the polls would suggest, then it indicates to me that the whole reasoning of "likely voter", might just be tied to those lackluster elections of the past. There just might be that tidal wave of new energized and excited voters out there that most pollsters don't include in their projections.
John, what about the keating 5. no one is talking about it. guess what we will in the general election.
Are the politics of fear running strong in NH?  McCain talking 100 year occupation would be OK in Iraq and he's leading the Republicans???  Did we not learn anything from the Roman Empire?  Perhaps New Hampshirans should read "Sorrows of Empire"  by Chalmers Johnson.  Here we go again.  Bush III.
I do favor HILLARY CLINTON for president.I highly
approved the Intelligent leadership we had under
President Clinton. I am 81--the USA,the World is in
Frightening condition. Hillary is the one we need now
more than ever. She is the right age,she is not a
Radical thinker. She is FAIR.She is Intelligent. She is someone I can understand & trust. She has no need
for POWER & MONEY. I worked until last July.I am still struggling to make ends meet. I DO NOT REQUIRE
ANY MEDIACATIONS OR DRUGS AT ALL,but memebers of my
family, for instance my GrandDaughter, age 27 who has been fighting to stay alive since before her birth,
does require extra help that  BUSH  has  VETOED.Hillary as a mother would understand more of the needs of the young people with Genetic diseases. She would help them.  There is more, but too
much to write here.
It amazes me, after all I have learned about our country, to see so many BLIND people wanting to be this "war-mongering" mentality.I have sincerely read up om ALL the candidates, THE ONE (MAIN-MEDIA) everyone seems to PURPOSELY keep ignoring is THE ONE that would restore our TRUE HONOR AND DIGNITY,  Ron Paul. It seems to me, the "POWER" doesn't want to  "LOSE THEIR POWER" and therefore has  gone out of "THEIR" way to ignor  the ONLY real  perona of the people. I CAN actually SEE  that this "DEMOCRACY" has become a  MONEY-HUNGAR SHAM! I, along with MILLION willl vote for DR Paul, I bet.. nobody will see the  REAL outcome, HELL  back in 2000, we saw that.

John Edwards is the man!!!  He shows strength of character and has the knowledge to handle the many problems that are confronting our nation.
CHANGE....the new mantra in politics this year!  But it isn't just CHANGE that matters.  It's LIKEABILITY!  Obama connects to a voter's heart and mind.  Edwards keeps screaming about corporate greed...coming from a corporate lawyer! And Sen. Clinton is part of the past as evidenced by her own statements..."35 Years of experience."  And look at what that has given us.  So CHANGE...YES; but LIKEABILITY AND VISION....DOUBLY YES!  I am definitely for Barack and will try to convince others to vote similarly.
It is funny how Dr Paul has basically,, "beat" Giuliani and SEE HERE..." STILL"  they put Guliani ahead?? That has to show the railraod job THE POWERS THAT BE are doing, right? I so long to relocate OUT OF THIS COUNTRY... FREEDOM & DEMOCRAY are SEMINGLY  less important to  the  ALLEGED TRUE AMERICANS. If Dr Paul is repeatedly shunned, I WILL sincerely try to leave this country BEFORE BUSH HAS HIS..." TERRORIST ATTACK,  YES, it's coming soon folks!
It appears that on the Democratic side, with no clear cut favorite, maybe a call to Al Gore is in order
The thing that disturbed me most was Mrs. Clinton using her feminine wiles as a joke during the debate last night.  We need a president that remains calm, rational and distinguished during the heat of the moment, during stress, during running our country.  The only person on both parties sides last night to do this was Senator Barack Obama.  He will have my vote and my families vote.
Edwards took a cheap shot at Clinton last night and Hillary was at her best in the response.  Basically what she said - some people talk a good game but that she delivers.  And she was right.
Some people take a stand and vote yes or no while other just vote "present".

Some people say they have a health plan that covers a lot of people.  Hillary has a plan that covers everyone.

I know the goods when I see them and Hillary Clinton is the goods!
I watch the campaigning and wonder about Hillary/Bill.
Although she was a formidal candidate, without him doing the talking for her I wonder who would be the president. Would we be re-placing him inadvertantly back in office?  Her claims of 35 years eco of his accomplishments.
MSNBC:  How is it that your lead about the Democratic debate this morning is about Obama flip-flopping?

Are you afraid of Mark Penn?  Did Howard Wolfson get to you?

Americans who watched the debate last night know that your lead was the LEAST important moment of the debate?   It was slime-politics at it's worst.

How about highlighting the debate about lobbyist money?   How about mentioning that Americans finally saw through the cracks in the Clinton facade and saw a person who explodes when criticized?

We except accurate news coverage from you.  If we wanted the spin, we could go to the Clinton website or to CNN.
McCain is gaining ground as Mitt and Mike duke it out.
I am happy to see that young people are getting involved in the election. I feel that our country will be better for it.
Thanks young americans, you have made an old man happy!
GO New Hampshire, give us a good race.
I'm still waiting for someone to release a youtube video of Hillary with flames around her head and smoke coming out her ears when she got angry and riled at Edwards for saying she was no longer winning...

Angry, loose canon president... or calm, collected president?

I think calm, collected would be a far better choice.
Edwards Clinton or Obama could beat whoever the Repubs put up.  Obama is the only one who can pull in enough independents and republicans to have a decisive victory.

If the dems put up Obama, the era of nail-biter, down to the last vote elections will be over.  We need someone interested in creating a super-majority.  Obama is the guy to do it....
It's really amazing what is going on, not just in Iowa and New Hampshire, but even out here in Arizona. I run a  small political kiosk in Chandler Fashion Mall in Chandler Arizona (a VERY Republican Area) and our sales of Barack Obama merchandise has just taken off, and Hillary Clinton's & Republicans have slowed. (We cover Rep. & Dem.) People tell me that they now feel it's O.K. for them to support Obama, like they're getting off the fence, and the Republicans are still very uncommitted, with no big surge yet for McCain, ever here in Arizona. If this in anyway is happening across America, then this really could be a movement developing for Obama, and not just another election cycle. Even on our website, www.PoliticalShopping.com, people are all of a sudden buying multiple Obama items, when before they were slow going.

What's really amazing to me is that Ron Paul outsells all the other Republicans combined! Just another measurement, but this time with the voters wallet. (And yes, I get to here everyones opinions about all the candidates, Left, Right, Independents & "Do You Have Anything That Says None Of The Above?" people.  It's a unique position to be in!
I don't buy it! People can't be that foolish to put McCaine ahead of Romney!

Finally people are waking up to the fact that there is a difference between being a good actor that can pay lip service, from a man of substance. The hypocrisy of Huckabee was very apparent during last nights debates. He has been a whiner about what he calls “negative attacks” yet look at his poor behavior at the debate! Romney is the smartest, most successful, most secure individual running for office. He wants to serve the people of the United States, not for status, not for pay, but because he loves America, he loves Americans.

Have we forgotten why the majority of people on both sides of the isle loved and respected President Ronald Reagan? It was because he loved America. He put America first, before himself or anything else. Romney clearly demonstrates that same character trait. He has proved he will do what the people want him to do; he has been successful in everything he has done. So America, tell him what you want, he’ll deliver, believe that.

Those of us that had decent parents were taught that we needed to pay attention in school, work hard, and be honest so that we have a better chance of success in our lives. Mr. Romney was paying attention, and is a very successful American. Now the democrats as well as Huckabee and McCain would have you believe that his success is a sin, or that because of his success he should be disrespected or doubted. I have never in my life seen such a public display of jealousy in my 51 years. Only Romney with his proven track record is the man to fix the economy. McCaine has “been there, but not done that.”

As far as “foreign policy experience,” let’s not forget that Ronald Reagan didn’t have any either when he came into office, yet the hostages were released immediately when he took office. President Carter made several attempts through negotiations and militarily to free the hostages; all failed. How is it that after all the unsuccessful attempts of a seated American President (Carter), that merely the news of Reagan’s being elected caused the bad guys to free the hostages? Because the hostage takers knew they were in deep doo-doo with Reagan in office. They knew what his position and character was. What did Reagan posses that others didn’t? An ability to make the hard decisions! Firm principles of what is right and what is wrong, and a willingness to fully commit and stand up for what is right. In Romney you will see that again. And don’t forget Reagan set the stage and deserves most of the credit for the Berlin wall coming down and the fall of the USSR. You don’t necessarily need a man with experience in all areas, you need a man who is smart, a man with a background of character, a great negotiator with a proven backbone and a man that will put our Country before himself!

Give America and the world a break; elect Romney as president!

it is truely time for a change. America is hurting, financial, spritiual, self-esteem. The experice Ms Clinton is talking about is still the same ol way of the past government. We need to come together as a human race of the united states and Barrack is the God touch man that will lead and unite this country to face this evil world.
This is a very interesting trend for Obama. It speaks to the what seems to be the mood of country and more over...Dems.  I've always been a Bill Clinton supporter,  and was open to hearing what Hillary was going to bring to the table as a candidate.  As time has gone by, the issue for me is that I'm really not sure what she stands for.  I have a real problem with her vote for the war, and not admitting that it was a mistake.  Then to support the Republican/Bush-Cheney sponsored Iranian Red Guard as a terrorist organization vote amazed me.  She is not Bill, and to me, the tow of them have their time, and it has past.  We need fresh leadership.  Barack Obama is that person, who can get America back on track, and make a clean break from the past.
A quick observation - HRC's numbers have been very stable. She has moved from 30 to 31%. She is still doing well.
I am an indpendant from a the small state of Rhode Isand were are never mentioned in polls. Here is my biggest concern, life in america in this day and age is scary,i'm looking for a person that will stay on top of what, who and how to keep us safe. but most of all it upsets me to see Mr.Obama using in my opinion all of the first time voter, older people that have fallen on hard times, and promising them the world.Lets not forget everyone polatican makes promises, that are all forgoten when the race is over....look at all the past campains of anyone....i heard in one of his speeches the people will be making the change, after he get allected will the people have access to the White House,Senate or the House to go in an vote for the changes..I don't think so..........I think is is passing out to many promises that he knows if he has any experience he can not keep...To me that bothers me....And then his wife makes the statement that if he doen't win this time he will run again...That bothers me,if u truely care for the people and change wouldn't you want to stay and keep fighting for what u believe,,to me it's like saying if u don't vote me in know I give up on all of you..I really hope people stop and take the time to look at all the issues and what if anyone can do to make the changes we need as a country....one last thought eight years ago I like George Bush which also talked alot about change, and made promise, and look where we are now!!!!!! I don't know to vote for..sorry i said i had one more thing but i left out something very important to me I have a 22 year old daughter, when i ask her who she was thinking of voting for she said Sen.Obama when i asked why she told because of all the changes and promises. I am so confused but in the end hope to make an imformed dicision and pray to God they keep at least Half of ther promises...........
Polls don't vote.

Cartwright,

Romney does NOT love America. He didn't love Massachusetts, as governor.

He forces us out of jobs with his forced buy-outs, he panders to whomever he feels will help him get what he wants--the reins of U.S. presidency. When Romney needs to be a left-leaning Liberal, to get him what he wants--the governor's office of Massachusetts, he'a a left-leaning Liberal, complete with left-leaning Liberal policies. When Romney wants the Conservative vote, he buys Conservative backing and tries to sound Conservative. When Romney wants the votes of Bible-believers, he tries to mis-lead them to believe that he believes in their God and/or their Jesus Christ.

Romney is fickle. It doesn't matter how much money he makes for himself. He has no experience to recommend him to the White House, as a Conservative, or as 'Loving America.'

Go to
http//www.massresistance.org
For a good, documented look a Romney the governor.
(a Massachusetts Conservative group).
pat rose,Rhode Island

That is like Mitt Romney making the very empty claims/promises that he will strengthen America's values. That is such a broad and open claim, promising absolutely nothing that he can deliver on. Values are subjective and have nowhere in any politician's pocket of promises.

I would also like to know more about Sen.Obamas campain manager,a lobbyist does't seem important to anyone, when he talk so much about getting rid of those kind of people, also how come he kept funding the war giving bush the finance to keep going, passing a bill to stop lobbyist from buying dinners, but yet they still are as long as they stand..I watch Sen.Obama and he is a person that i like, really doubt he can change much without more experience.........he funded the war why isn't anyone asking him for an apology or to at least tell as why.Being honest and creditable also means know what mistakes one make but also owning up to them, not pointing to other people to take all the focus off oneself.......
I forgot the biggest thing for me from the debate last night, when he was asked about going into Pakistan and he said yes,if some one told me what his answer was but didn't tell me who said I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT CAME FROM BUSH.Doing what he said he would do would get us into more trouble in that region.................
I allmost couldn't believe my eyes, nobody was attacking Mitt Romney's religion.... but then Mr. Mick delivered the dissapointment. Are you also an expert on the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS?   hahaha

People, LOOK AT RECORDS!  LOOK AT WHAT THE CANDIDATES HAVE DONE!

MANCHESTER, NH -- We'll have more on the results in the next couple of hours, but here are the numbers from the latest MSNBC/McClatchy/Mason-Dixon poll of New Hampshire:

As you can see from the above copy from the top of this page MSNBC has been saying since 7:31 AM today that new poll numbers will be posted "in the next couple of hours." It is now 15 hours later. MSNBC doesn't fill its commitments.
God Bless Obama!!!
You Americans are jokes. First you send the world the moron George Bush. And look what he did to your world standings and personal lives. And you now are going to send the world an untested apprentice to replace him. Get real. Do a reality check. This is going to back fire on you people big time, WAIT AND SEE.
I'm so excited to see such an intelligent, honest, hard-working man who has experience working with people who make up the majority of the population in this country--the middle class, running for President. I hope that Obama continues to have the courage to speak honestly and use the wealth of knowledge and experience he gained working in a city with such severe economic desparity, to bring this country to a place where change can occur. I think it's becoming more and more obvious that he is the candidate with the most experience of bringing people together in a positive way. I'm sad to see people listen blindly to other politicians who dig up dirt without doing the research on their own. The lobbyist working with Obama is a state lobbyist, unlike the federal lobbyists that provide financial support to another democratic candidate. Quite a difference. I'm also frustrated that other politicians resort to such negative attacks on those who are doing well. Don't they have a strong enough platform of their own to run on?
I am australian and have spent the last few years researching modern history and politics. I am sure alot of people will agree with me when I say that "Gawd help us all if Dr Ron Paul does not win the election." Please USA citizens do the rest of the world a favour and educate yourselves on how the current system works. Check out Ron Paul's policies, vote for him, and save the world!
