Fred on SC and NH

Posted: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 8:14 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Carrie Dann
COLUMBIA, SC -- Thompson said here, "This is where I'm drawing the line. We had to get out of Iowa with a third place finish in order to be credible to come forward. We made a pit stop in New Hampshire. But South Carolina is where I'm standing for the nomination of president of the United States."

"All of my buddies who are running for president this year are up freezing in New Hampshire tonight. You know, shivering around, walking around, there are snowbanks up to about right here. And I'm in South Carolina. Now who do you think is smart enough to be president?" (Actually, it is pretty warm in New Hampshire today and tonight...)

Thompson continued, "We had to make a little sojourn in New Hampshire in order to participate in those what they call debates Saturday and Sunday night. That's everybody gets together to exchange their soundbites in 30 second increments. Then they try to make you raise your hands. I kinda put a stop to that."

Thompson is far from a credible candidate and has no grip on any issues, but I LOVE hearing from him.  He seems like a genuinely likeable guy and makes consistently hilarious statements like the ones to be found here.
He is a joke. Has a trophy wife and lives in Tennessee a lot less than Al Gore got blamed for. Lives in Maryland and is a better actor than politician.
He makes really good points in the debates and he doesn't seem to get carried away like the rest of them.  It just feels like he's giving up though.  I think he'd made a great president.  He's the only one that seems to know what he's talking about rather than just talking.
I think Fred is very credible.  If people took the time to read each candidates website on both the Rep.
and Dem. side it would be hands down FRED THOMPSON.  He is much more than an actor (like Reagan was) and brings alot to the office.  I hope others take the time as I did to read about these men and women.  I know my one vote matters.  Please don't let the "Media" vote for you or me.
Remind those South Carolina Republicans what a Republican Actor can do, Thompson!
Good strategy Fred.  I'm sure everyone will think you're a real credible candidate seeing that you got half as many votes as Dennis Kucinich.  Way to think that through.
It's over for Fred if he can't make a stand in SC...can't understand why anyone thinks this guy would make a good president.

"How bad do I want to be your President ?  One a scale from 1-10 - about a 6." (Fred portrayal on SNL) - hee !
