Rangel made his remarks on the cable channel NY1, a local channel with news directed at all five boroughs of the city.  His apology on MSNBC does little to undo the damage he's done talking to the broader and more diverse audience here in New York locally.

With this favor to the Clinton campaign,Rangel joins the pantheon of establishment democrats in New York who are an embarrassment to rank and file voters.

Typically, the Clinton surrogates say these things, none founded in any bit of truth, then apologize the next day.

Rangel for years has been a fringe player... never getting what he thought was his due for being a Black Man.  So now that a nice, but lying lady said she could give him his power if he'd just blindly follow her and aplogize for her, Charlie jumped on board.  Two delusional liars, no waiting.  D.

I'm not really buying the apology. How many times is this going to happen before the media calls the Clintons out on it? This is just another in a string of episodes in which Hillary or her surrogates race up to the line, throw their bombs and then claim that the explosion wasn't intended. From "Fairytale" to "Kindergarten" to intimations of drug dealing and secretly being a Muslim to Robert Johnson. Truly, Hillary wasn't kidding when she said that for her this was "the fun part."

This was so unlike Charlie. I couldn't believe what was coming out of his mouth regarding Obama. Especially when we remember that Obama never made mention that MLK Jr. could have passed and signed the legislation on his own.

Rangel is from old school politics. He said what he said because he, like so many other "Black leaders" are from the era when you get your marching papers form the Masta. They were told this past weekend that it was there turn to attack and attack they did. He know realizes they we are more educated then we were 39 years ago and we no longer eat that form of mess. He, like the others WILL be remembered at the ballot box. THAT's why he's coming out now. He realizes that he has signed his own political death warrant.

He was harsh too.  Forget about just the King comments.  He actually suggested that the reason Obama was honest about his past drug use was to sell more books.  Since when did honesty become something bad?

Disgusting.

Charlie's attack was like the battle of new orleans.  They didn't know there was a truce in the war.  However, Charlie's broadside helps to put an explamation point on the whole affair, and shows the Clinton's strength in this situation.

I'm sure Charlie heard from his overwhelmingly African American constituency in his congressional district and realized that he had made a absolutely stupid comment that may hurt him come time for re-election

Charles Rangle did a Howard Cosell and got called on it. It is one thing supporting a candidate, but making false accusations is bufoonery. How are things in Harlem since Clinton bogarted his way there? Seems to me, black people have been bamboozled big time by the false promises and lies. The great Adam Clayton Powell is turning over in his grave hearing the stink coming out about Barack.

I'm glad Norah has some integrity because Russert didn't hold Hillary responsible for Rangel's behavior.

I never knew Charlie Rangel was so ignoramous.  He and Hillary deserve each other!

I'm sick of the lies fron the "Clinton Apology Book".
SOS...Say something really awful, a big fat straight-up lie...let it circulate thru the press...then pull out the "fake apologies".  Rangel has been in the game too long to "mis speak".  I really feel bad for Senator Obama having to even deal with this kind of gutter trash in his own party.  With the Clintons obviously no back-alley, slime, lie filled trick is off limits.

Did Rangel mean that it was wrong for Obama "to infer" or "to imply"?

Rangel and others have been around for a longtime in politics and figting for causes.  With all their experience, you mean to tell me they don't know how to choose fighting words, which will offend others.  This is why we need change.  The OLD GUARDS of Washington and their ignorant views needs to vanish.  

Charlie Rangel and Bob Johnson look like they are wearing "Black Face"...Let's speak about The Clinton's executing a lawsuit that would stop the Nevada caucus from taking place on the strip at the hotels....directly where the workers will be, and will be able to raise their hands and show support for Senator Obama.
Let's talk about Mr. Clinton being impeached because of his disgraceful behavior in the White House; and now he's trying to get back in there ?

What about Senator Obama not making reference to race, and him being called on the carpet for the Clinton's race bating tactics !  Why would Senator Obama have to participate in a truce when the Clinton's are the race slangers ?

Robert Johnson spoke on behalf of the Clinton's...did they not review his speech ?

Why did Andrew Cuomo speak about "Shuckin' and Jivin' "  do you believe those words are still in our vocabulary ?

Finally...what about the Peter Paul, and Mr Hsu (Clinton cash supporters).  Both now under indictment.  Mr. Hsu is actually in jail, Mr Paul is not in the USA right now.  If he comes back to the US he will face charges, and possibly arrested.  They were both BIG CRAZY MONEY SUPPORTERS, that the Clinton's are denying a relationship with...there is a 20/20 report that actually reviewed this.

Finally..for real this time....Bill Clinton is not Black !
