Rove: Dems irresponsible, GOP positive

In an address to the Republican National Committee, Karl Rove discussed the differences between the Democratic and Republican candidates running for president. Rove said they differ on important issues such as their positions on taxes, national security and health care, going as far as saying the Democrats have adopted "irresponsible words and irresponsible stands on the most important issue facing America, the security of our country and the security of our people" while Republicans have a "positive and optimistic view about what we ought to be doing about health care."

Rove spent the majority of the time speaking about Sen. Clinton and Obama. "If you saw the Philadelphia debate, you know Senator Clinton's got a problem with giving straight answers in this campaign," Rove said at the executive director's meeting in Washington, D.C. He also outlined Clinton's spending policy, saying although she claims fiscal responsibility, she has already proposed $800 billion in new spending.

"How can you claim to be fiscally responsible and want to increase the federal budget by $800 billion in four short years?" Rove asked. "She says, 'I have a million ideas and the country can't afford them all.' For once I agree with Senator Clinton."

He called on Clinton to release the documents detailing her work in the White House and slammed her for only receiving 55% of the vote in the Michigan primary last night. "Think about that," Rove said. "She's running against nobody and nobody gets 40% of the vote. The other 5% of the vote went to three other people. 27,924 votes went to the guy who believes in UFOs, the guy who dropped out and the guy who last held public office somewhere around 1855."

Regarding Obama, Rove went after his "present" votes while in the Illinois State Senate on controversial votes on abortion, the second amendment and privacy for sex abuse victims. "This is not the kind of change, and this is certainly not the kind of experienced leadership. This is not the kind of  political courage that Americans want and deserve in their next chief executive."

Rove said the Republican nominee will have to do four things upon securing the nomination: "introduce themselves to the American people;" "immediately engage on kitchen table issues that we have great answers for but are sometimes concerned about talking about" like healthcare, cost of education, jobs, the economy, and trade; "campaign aggressively in places where Republicans don't usually campaign," reaching out to African Americans, Latinos, blue-collar workers, union households, etc; and demonstrate that they "understand the surge is working in Iraq."

GOP Positive?  ROTFLMAO.  Another snake oil salesjob folks.  I can't believe the let this rat out of his hole.
Wow, what an INCREDIBLE headline.  How about "Bush: Barney 'Good Dog,' English 'Hard'" or "Pope: Bible 'Nice,' Abortion 'Not a Good Idea'"
"How can you claim to be fiscally responsible and want to increase the federal budget by $800 billion in four short years?" Rove asked. "She says, 'I have a million ideas and the country can't afford them all.' For once I agree with Senator Clinton."

Anybody?
Anybody?
Bueller?
Bueller?

He called on Clinton to release the documents detailing her work in the White House and slammed her for only receiving 55% of the vote in the Michigan primary last night. "Think about that," Rove said. "She's running against nobody and nobody gets 40% of the vote. Talking about your experience is one thing....
Proving it is quite another.....
What say you Hillary?......

Shows you there is a lot of people believing in fairy tales when they vote for Kucinich....

Huh, interesting that Rove is using the same talking points about Obama as the Clintons.  Present votes on abortion from the Republicans.  That should tell you something.
As far as problems giving straight answers, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Somebody like Rove needs to be especially careful of having his glass house shattered. The shock of the reality of America and real American life might be too much for his heart(?). All these "kitchen table" subjects are real, but didn't we hear that GWB was going to look out for us too?
This is the "brain" with his usual rhetoric.  What is amazing is with the mess this nation is in, created by Bush and his "brain", that the Republicans would want him speaking anywhere. And if he is, that they would actually listen.
Not  even  registered  Republicans   are  feeling  "positive"  about  the  party  Rove  built, or  the  policies  he  helped  design.

Rove's  GOP  doesn't  have any money,  or   a  candidate  his  cobbled-together  "permanent  majority"   can  agree  on.

Frankly,  the  GOP  is  a  MESS.

So  why  would  anybody  give  a  diggity  dog  damm  what  the   man  has  to say  now?

Good  grief,  Chuck.   There's  brown  stuff on your  nose.
shut up Karl, you'll be in jail soon...
Rove...that's surely the pot calling the kettle black.  Repukes have been so fiscally irresponsible, diplomatically impotent on foreign affairs, that this country is in danger of a complete downfall because of them.  Rove...go back to obscurity.
Why is Karl Rove still in the spotlight? The next time I want to read his name in the news is when he is lead away to jail.
Yeah, they're really positive and optimistic while they're shtupping pages, taking bribes and getting other people's loved ones killed.  "Kitchen table" issues?  These people are so far removed from the middle class as to be clueless.  Kitchen tables are for the hired help to prepare their meals for them, at least the ones lobbyists aren't paying for!
rove your whitehouse days are numbered pal, unfortunately you do have too many left....but still, your act is so old why don't you go off and run one of GWB's gas stations!
'...If you saw the Philadelphia debate, you know Senator Clinton's got a problem with giving straight answers in this campaign," Rove said...'

He got one thing right !!
Hillary flip flopped on IDs for illegal aliens in 60 seconds flat!!
Principled stand, Hillary !
You flip flopped on the war, too !!

\'...He called on Clinton to release the documents detailing her work in the White House...'

Why not ?
What are you HIDING, Hillary ?
What EXPERIENCE ?

Even the evil one gets it right sometimes

Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, Mark Penn is a Karl Rove 'wannabe'
Mark Penn admires Karl Rove and wants to play a similar position for Hillary Clinton

Plus ca change, Plus ca meme change...

Too bad Mr Rove can't figure out his 15 minutes are up!!!!
And the reason this country can't afford new programs to take care of our own citizens is because Karl Rove and George Bush and this entire Republican fiasco of the last 7 years has spent $1,000,000,000,000 on a war in Iraq that was a blunder from the outset.  Karl Rove and George Bush have lied, lied, lied to this country all along, and now he expects us to give credence to a word he says?  The man should be in jail, not out giving speeches.
They cost money, but so do these wars (maybe number three comming up? Is that how Georgie intends to raise his approvall rating to 45%: by demanding our blind patriotism in anothe war where we have to support more troops?  Has anyone heard of Warren Buffets $1 million dollar challenge to his fellow billionaires? Someone show me you are in a higher tax bracket than your secretary and I'll pay you a million. So far, no takers. Gosh, can we maybe put those people in a higher tax bracket and pay for some of those kitchen table issues in a manner that is not penny-wise and pound-foolish?
IDIOT, PERIOD. IT IS DIGUSTING THAT HE IS EVEN IN THE SAME COUNTRY AS I AM.  HE IS A SHAME AND DISGRACE TO THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE. HOW CAN THIS CRO-MAGNATIC FOSSIL EVEN BE TOLERATED MUCH LESS ACCEPTED IN TODAY'S SOCIETY?
Interesting.   I notice that if a Democrat says anything about a Republican then First Read has to rush off to get a response from some Republican spokesperson -- yet you let Rove attack the two Democratic frontrunners without any rebuttal.

You should at least note that Senator Obama's "present" votes in the Illinois Senate were part of an acknowledged Democratic and Woman's choice strategy.
Rove needs to shut up he has done enough damage to the image of the Republican party and the country as a whole. Why will any Rpublican listen to this charlatan is the 64,000 question
Does anything that man says matter anymore?

Seriously?
Rove is a troublemaker.  He's a negative person.
Crawl back under your rock, KKKarl.  Since your revolution is doing so well.
I'm just surprised that ANYONE is giving Rove, a political has-been, a forum (and why is this guy not in jail?).  He is so out of touch it is mind boggling.  His only legacy is that he succeeded in dividing this country, something the terrorists were never able to do.  I especially admired his push polling against McCain in South Carolina in 2000.  The "McCain fathered a black baby" campaign was the tops in political slime (and didn't say much about South Carolinian GOP voters either) that I doubt will ever be topped.
If that's all Rove has on Obama, then I understand why Repubs want Clinton to win the Democratic primary.

Obama's present votes have been explained time and again.

The Repubs have nothing 'bad' on Obama.  Why? Because there's nothing 'bad' there.  Yeah, I'd be scared of facing him too!

Obama '08
Please keep it up Karl. Only Rove can go negative and call it positive and call the optimistic Democratic message, "pessimism". Here is a reality check: I watched the Republican debate the other night and the GOP candidates are grumpy, negative, and seem to be wedded shoulder and hip to the politics of division. In other words completely out of touch with where the voters are today. So please keep up the partisan hate mongering Karl because independents DO matter and all you know how to do is alienate them.
If the best Rove can come up with is the same bits about "present" votes in the IL Senate (already covered and explained to death in other places), then the opo-research teams must be having a hard time coming up with anything significant.

Hillary, on the other hand, is a veritable truckload of red meat just waiting to be thrown up on the tv screen.

Karl wants the republican candidate to talk democrat issues, this little pudding belly knows his party is dead in the water and will sink in the general election.
Sorry Karl you are less relevent than your boy Bush.
It is funny to see that this Karl is writing his own DAS KAPITAL!
I would think that Karl is a very good judge of irresponsibility!
You lost Karl, your numbers didn't add up and everybody knows it, develop a british accent and date a papparatzi, you would get more face time you little puke butt butterballed turkey headed wonk!
Mr. Rove,

Please go back to whence you came.  How dare you claim to know how to do anything but destroy and alienate!  You have no credibility whatsoever.  Don't try to weasel your way back onto the scene with all of the blood and sin of the Bush Administration still dripping from your claws.  There is a judgment for people like you and your ilk.  I was (and still am) hoping for a nice extended stay behind bars for you, Rummy, Cheney, Wolfy, the Decider, and company.

After all of the devastation that you have caused--you're supposed to be 'The Architect' right?  I am glad that Democrats finally have someone of the timbre of Sen. Barack Obama to bring this country back together.  Democrats, if we can come together, we can undo the many wrongs caused by this man and his minions.
The Republican candidate will have to worry about the Bush legacy that will come back to bite him.  No matter how far the distance, short of Ron Paul who would request the government to disolve, that man would have to deal with what George W. Bush has done and gotten the U.S. into.  There are the serious question as to environment, government secrecy and other policies and actions the current administration has taken; what would this candidate do that was so radically different.  Money corruption seems to be a big thing that many (but not all) Republicans are in trouble for.

The Democratic candidate would have to clearly make the call as to what they could do to turn the country around from the questionable policies of the previous administration.
What's the current tab on the Iraq War again?  And which party is fiscally responsible?  If we're going to be spending that amount of money I'd rather have universal health care than an ill advised misadventure in the sands of the Middle East...
It's not easy being a has-been.
Please.... Rove needs to crawl back into his hole!!
Huh? The man is largly responsible for the mess our nation is in today.  Is he totally nuts?  I think so.
Why am I supposed to care what this nutjob has to say about the Democratic party?

Isn't Rove supposed to be in a jail or something?
It really must be a SLOW news day to have to reach below the scum at the bottom of the barrel and pull out comments from Rove. Most people would probably choose to read a review about last nights American Idol.
If your name is neither George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, noe Rumsfeld, why in the world would you ever listen to a word Rove has to say?  He is, and has been, America's worst enemy since 2000.

Rove saying that ANYTHING the Dems does is "irresponsible" is pure comedy ... this is, after all, the guy who grins when it is pointed out that he outed a covert CIA operative ...
Karl Rove is about the least credible person on the planet...and I'm a Republican.
Keep talking, Karl.  The best weapon against your party are your words!  Rove calling Democrats irresponsible is like Charles Manson criticising someone for murder.
Yes.....and there is still a STINKER in the whitehouse !
rove must mean; publicans are all rich, white,
and worried what their woman folk are going
to do.

and that even they don't "understand the surge is working in Iraq."
Why isn't Rove in jail?
Karl Rove was the chief strategist for the most inept and incompetent presidential administration in US history and yet he wants to tell the current group of republican candidates how to run their campaigns. How Absurd. Thankfully, only that idiot Giuliani is willing to accept Karl's advice
And I care about Karl Rove's comments because???
Note to Mr. Rove:  You are NOT going to change my mind.  Just sign me..."One informed voter out there".
Wow. I didn't think anyone thought Rove was a credible source anymore. Interesting.
"He called on Clinton to release the documents detailing her work in the White House..."
This from a man who worked in the WH during the time that critical emails and documents were not archived and are now lost during a time when a CIA officer was outted, the lies were put forth during the run-up to the war and Bush signed bills passed by Congress then overrode with signing statements.
The nerve, the hypocricy.... like everything else during the last 7 years.
I can't get over the hypocrisy of Karl Rove! Bush's white house is to blame for this fiasco! We have no money, a broken military and are reputation is in tatters. Go away Karl!
It is just so much fun to watch the liberals run around with their hair on fire when ever Rove says something. And the funniest part is, the comments from the libs are irresponsible and negative, just like Karl says liberals will be, and his point is proven.

Rove is just playing with you guys (and gals).
It says a lot about the Republican party when they ask Karl to speak...obviously no change message in that party. I hope they take his "advise". Americans are so sick of his type, the Dems will have a cakewalk in November. He used to be Mister 51%...todays it's more like Mister 19%. Quite an accomplishment for Bush's Brain.
Republicans, I can't believe after this adminstrations lies, deceit,fraud,etc.,etc. orchestrated by Rove, Cheney, Gonzales,etc.etc. that you would actually allow this fraud to actually speak to you. As long as you continue even giving him the time of day, expect most americans to believe republicans support corruption. I doubt I will be considering any republican candidates in the near future as long as the likes of him is speaking for you.
