Much ado about nothing

It was the political equivalent of Geraldo opening Al Capone’s vault. After early South Carolina results show Thompson trailing Huckabee and McCain, MSNBC cut away from political analysis for Thompson to make an announcement. Smelling blood, political reporters and junkies held their breaths, leaning into their televisions, wondering, “Is this the night Fred Thompson is going to withdraw?”

No dice.

Instead, Thompson essentially delivered his stump speech and made little acknowledgement that there was even a race that day. A race, in fact, that he had described only eight days ago as “his stand.”

One of the more noteworthy aspects of the speech was a possible sarcastic quip, “It may be a little early to declare victory, I’m not sure…” Thompson said.

But the crowd appeared to take him literally and cheered enthusiastically. “We told our folks to vote late so they’ll still be trickling in,” he added.

A reason for the enthusiastic crowd? With their candidate's prospects for a good showing here fading with each passing moment, the campaign brought about 20 cases of Bud and Bud Light to their campaign primary watch party here to liven up the party. (They do have a liquor license, scoopers, so don't raise your eyebrows.)

About 100 diehard supporters (and curious students who heard about the beer) gathered here to await the big guy's appearance. The lolling, slow-paced country music didn't much help the somber atmosphere. "This isn't a funeral, guys!" implored Rep. Gresham Barrett in his effort to fire up the crowd before Thompson appeared.

As Thompson left the stage, he implored the crowd with mouthed words drowned out by the small but dedicated crowd chanting his name: "Stay strong."

Overall, Ron Paul is beating Thompson and Giuliani... http://truthalert.net/Republican%20Presidential%20Candidate%20Rankings.htm
To clarify what happened in South Carolina tonight, Fred Thompson split the ticket, as Ross Perot split the ticket on H Bush in South Carolina. Huckabee supporters must start today answering the established media’s attack on Mike Huckabee and expose the records of McCain, Romney, and Thompson.
When Sen. Thompson concluded his remarks and MSNBC cut back the studio, I was very disappointed to hear the riotous laughter coming from the crew on the set and see the equally unsettling response from Matthews and Olbermann. The lack of respect and contempt that Matthews, Olbermann, and the MSNBC staff showed for Sen. Thompson was exceedingly unprofessional. Sen. Thompson is a man that is putting himself on the line to do what he feels is best for his country and he was speaking to a group of people that support his efforts. For the community at MSNBC to poke fun at this man only shows how bias they truly are. For the “Journalist” at MSNBC to allow their personnel bias to enter their reporting and to allow this type of display to occur erodes their credibility and the trustworthiness off MSNBC News.  Matthews and Olbermann are beginning to look like clowns.
THIS IDIOT LIED ABOUT HUCKABEE  FOR MC CAIN---EVEN HIS GROUPIE TROPHY WIFE AS HE CALLS HER---I CALL HER A GOLDDIGGER-----WENT ON FOX TO RUN DOWN HUCK  FOX PUT HUCK DOWN SO GULLIANI WOULD HAVE A CHANCE
The media in this country, for the most part leans liberally left and the days of reporters reporting unbiased are gone.

I wonder how reporters would react if there was an organization whose sole purpose was to research and report every nasty detail  of their lives. Wouldn't that be interesting. Maybe then reporters would learn to just report the facts and nothing more.
I have no idea how Mcain is winning. He is a typical fake politician. Ron Paul makes the most sense, and seems genuine.
