McCain in Miami

Posted: Monday, January 21, 2008 3:35 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Bethany Thomas
MIAMI, FL -- With the support from three Florida congressmen, McCain stopped by the reknowned Cuban hotspot, The Versailles Restaurant, for a shot of cortadito -- or Cuban espresso. It's unclear if he was able to court many Florida voters amidst the crushing sea of cameras that surrounded his every move. One restaurant employee told NBC that Mrs. McCain almost had coffee spilled on her in the chaos.

McCain slowly moved through the restaurant to a back room for a press conference, where he had harsh words for Cuba and used the local press to get out his talking points on Iraq, the economy, and immigration.

The senator is also using his on-and-off residency in Florida -- while he was in the military -- to appeal to the Florida voters. He said it was a state he has enjoyed visiting ever since and joked that both he and his wife Cindy have greatly supported the economy over the years.

The press conference ended with some laughter when the senator -- as we earlier noted -- responded to Chuck Norris' claims that the age of 72 is too old for a person to be president. He said, "I'm afraid that I might have to send my 95-year-old mother over and wash Chuck's mouth out with soap."

At his age McCain might not be up for re-election to a second term. He can not be any slower than Fred Thompson at any age. I was hoping that by the time I passed 50, that people from my generation would be running this country. As it turns out the people from my parents generation are still in charge. McCain has been luckly surviving a prisoner of war camp in Vietnan. There are alot of people his age that never made it to 50.
McCain is kinda nasty and snotty. I think that is his true personality.
At least he's not a pathological lair like the Clintons
HUCKABEE WOULD BE FRONT RUNNER IF NOT FOR FOX NEWS AND FRED THOMPSON        FOX WANTS GULLIANI    THOMPSON    MCCAIN       HUCK WAS LEADING IN FLA.
John McCain ain't to old....he's just to 'shady'. He's got a lot of questions that need to be answered. As a veteran during his era, I'm not totally convinced about his time spent as a P.O.W. seems like there's a few loose ends?

Norris is typical of the Huckabee campaign - totally ignorant of history and foreign policy. A classic bunch of sideline sitters.

McCain is a decorated veteran and has more balls than Chuck Norris ever dreamed of.
McCain's time for the White House has passed. He needs to let it go. We need change and McCain is not the candidate of change. He is a career Washington politician and too liberal for the GOP.
Harsh words for Cuba? Apparently unaware that the Cold War is over, McCain remains eager to incite conflict with as many countries as possible.

In an upcoming Star Wars remake, it's rumored that George Lucas is negotiating for John McCain to play Darth Vader and Ron Paul as Yoda.
John McCain is an honest, experienced man. I am older than him and I sure still have all my marbles. Quit talking down the seniors, we still have many years of life and service to the country in us.  I want some one I can trust to lead this country through this mess we are in , John can do it, and also he is the only one capable of beating either Hillary or Obama.
