Slum lord Rezko?

Posted: Monday, January 21, 2008 8:38 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Aswini Anburajan
For those who don't know, Tony Rezko, was a Chicago figure who financially supported many Democratic campaigns and also a Chicago landlord. He is also facing charges on federal corruption for kickbacks among state employees' pension funds.  Obama was linked to Rezko because he contributed $10,000 to his campaign in 2004, and in recent court documents, Obama is listed as an "unnamed politician" receiving money from Rezko. Rezko also provided a deal for Obama to buy land adjacent to his home, which Obama later called "a bone-headed move" on his part. Obama's campaign will be donating funds contributed by Rezko and his associates to charity, a little more than $80,000.

You failed to mention the 400K the NYTimes noted Rezko Pooled for Obama ofer 12 years and that Obama worte a letter to the state getting Rezko a multi million dollar state contract.  You can pay it back, but it still a bribe. come on, this guy bought him land for his house.
THINK WHAT A FIELD DAY THE PRESS AND THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN WOULD BE HAVING IF REZKO WAS SOMEONE IN
HILLARY'S PAST INSTEAD OF OBAMA'S.  AND IF HE THOUGHT
IT HURT WHEN HILLARY WENT AFTER HIM THINK HOW BAD IT
WILL GET IN THE GENERAL ELECTION IF HE'S RUNNING
AGAINST THE REPUBLICAN'S.  OUCH!
Sorry, brian ny ny but the ten-foot piece of land adjacent to the Obamas' yard was sold to to the Obamas by the Rezkos for... full market value.

But what really needs to be covered is WHETHER Rezko is in fact a "slumlord." Or is just taking Hillary's word for it enough?
