Rudy vows to stay in even if loses FL

Posted: Thursday, January 24, 2008 3:28 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Giuliani said that no matter the outcome in Florida Tuesday, he will continue to campaign for the Republican nomination.

“I’m gonna continue my campaign. I have no plans to end my campaign,” Giuliani told reporters when asked whether he would continue the campaign if he did not win the Jan. 29 primary. “Of course, I anticipate winning in Florida because I don’t go into a campaign anticipating losing.

“And I have no reason not to anticipate winning,” he continued. “We’re very competitive. In some polls it’s very, very close. In some polls, we even had a poll where we are first. We’ve been second to Mitt Romney, second to John McCain. So we think we’re in good shape here.”

Giuliani said it was not a mistake to skip the early states, even as polls showed him trailing in third in Florida, where he had a healthy lead over the summer.

“I think that it was politically correct to focus on Florida,” Giuliani said. “It was the best choice when you consider all the circumstances that were presented to us about resources and strengths and weaknesses and the place where you can make your case most effectively. And the fact that this is a wide open race means that, no, I don’t think that it was a mistake.”

Giuliani began positioning himself as the candidate that can best fight terrorism and the struggling economy. He even entered the stage Thursday with a new song, “Best of Both Worlds” by Van Halen.

Please, someone tell Rudy his campaign is "allready" over. Thank You !
He is toast, Romney will win Florida, he is more conservitive than McCain and Huck is losing it. No mo.
Rudy who ?
That's like George Steinbrenner addressing the media after a 10 game losing streak and telling them the manager's job is safe....yeh right!!!!....hey Rudy 911-  see ya!!
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...wake me up when it's over.
GO RUDY DONT BORE US ANY LONGER PLEASE
Romney is looking strong in Florida but Huckabee is not out of it yet. I think it's a three-way battle between Romney, Huckabee and McCain now. Also, the south has always been a stronghold of great political importance in the Republican Party and right now Huckabee is leading in all the polls in the following Super Tuesday states: Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Arkansas and Alabama. To put things in perspective, Florida has 57 delegates and Georgia has 72. This thing is far from over. The debate tonight could make a big difference in terms of momentum and focus on the candidates regardless of the outcome in Florida. Go Huckabee!!!!
IF ONLY YOU WEREN'T UP AGAINST MOST IMPRESSIVE CANDIDATE-MIT ROMNEY-in your lifetime.
We'll end it for you.
You want to become president?

First do NOT claim to be a liberal or especially because of Dubya, a conservative. If you were paying attention two years ago it should be obvious to you by now that the majority of Americans want (demand) someone open minded, willing to listen and act accordingly for what is best for AMERICA: not just for liberals, certainly not for conservatives.
Go Rudy!!! I know you will win Florida and you will make a GREAT President.  You have my vote.  Go Rudy!!!

Elise, Florida
Rudy, the wishful thinker, maybe he can continue whishing for something he ain't gonna win anything, what an idiot.
No Rudy pull out.  You are the biggest threat to the Democrats in November so thank God you messed up your entire campaign.  Now if only either Huck or Mitt can beat McCain, the Repubs last hope in November, and win this thing at the convention, we Democrats can breathe a big sigh of relief.  So you Huckabee folks keep working hard and please win this thing for Huck.
Rudy will for sure win Florida and the nomination. Then he will be our president. I can't believe you would even think he would drop out.
The MSM and the Dems have hammered Rudy because he was an effective conservative Mayor that did what no Democrat had ever done in New York -- shut down the mob, get welfare and crime under control, and get the economy growing againing with lower taxes. They don't want an effective conservative President doing anything like that making their snake oil prescriptions look bad.

Because he was the front runner for most of the year, all the attacks from the Republican contenders went against him as well. But if he is nominated, he has more 2nd choice support than any other Republican candidate and will unite the party into the General Election.

The MSM and Hillary will savage him brutally but hey the Mafia put a $400,000 contract on his head when he was prosecuting the "Commission" case and Rudy not only did not back down, he won.
From an article today (Giuliani slips to third in latest Florida poll) on Rudy: "He's the only Republican supporting a national catastrophic insurance fund important to many hurricane-weary and cash-strapped Floridians"

Whose pandering now? And where are all the outraged and hate-filled comments that are normally tied to candidates that stoop to such dispicable levels? Some people say all candidates should be treated fairly. So let's see some comments!!!

Seriously, if pandering is the most significant charge you can level at a guy like Romney, isn't that saying a lot? Vote Romney please Florida! El es un muy buen hombre y sera un presidente excelente!!
