Stallone endorses McCain

Posted: Thursday, January 24, 2008 4:02 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Bethany Thomas and Domenico Montanaro
Sylvester Stallone endorsed McCain today. "I like McCain a lot. A lot," Stallone said on Fox News. "And you know, things may change along the way, but there's something about matching the character with the script. And right now, the script that's being written and reality is pretty brutal and pretty hard-edged like a rough action film, and you need somebody who's been in that to deal with it."

McCain said in response, "I'm going to Philadelphia and running up the steps."

Sly Stallone vs. Chuck Norris

Geritol and Viagra should sponsor this one.  LOL
Mr. Stallone, please read Ron Paul Platform, then choose the candidate that better sticks the "character with the script", there is no flip-flop in Paul's vision to America.
stallone endorses his latest movie.
Who cares??????
All braun, no brains Sly Stallone. McCain = endless war. The guy would use the U.S. Military to (try to) settle a personal issue. Disastrous. Didn't W give ya'll enough WAR?
I have long been a Chuck Norris and Sly Stone Fan, but based on both of there choices to endorse for President, I guess I am more aligned with the characters they played then with the actors. I really thought they were both more intelligent.
Sly, Sly, I am so disappointed.  I guess I won't see Rambo.  I do not know why you think old man McCain can handle the job just because he was a prisoner of war so were a lot of other people but that does not make them presidental material...  Come on Rambo.  And Chuck is right - he is an old man and the mess Bush is leaving is enough to give me a heart attack and I am 20 some years younger.  With McCain it will just be the same old sorry lying white house!!! and we will be in Iraq so long my grandchildren who are 3mos and 4yrs - they will be drafted by McCain.
hahahah! I endorse Obama, so can I get headlines?
Mark, that was funny.  LOL....
Hey - maybe Craigslist will endorse him next!
Are you kidding me?  So what?
PLEASE!  What do movie stars know of politics.  It is scary that most voters pay attention to such endorsements rather than people of substance who know the issues: people like George Will, Steve Forbes, or Dick Armey, all of whom have either endorsed or praised Guiliani's plans and record of tangible concrete accomplishments.  McCain didn't perform the impossible by turning around NYC.

And as far as the military or veterans go, those that I know who have ACTUALLY met and spent time with McCain, they all think he is crazy or at the very least "off".  It scares me to think he may be president.  Besides his inability to control his temper, he has blatantly flip-flopped on several issues.
McCain likes to say "I got the message", but if he didn't get the message when hundreds of letters, phone calls, emails were inundating his Senate office regarding MCCAin-Feingold or the Illegal Immigration bill, he was on another planet at the time.
The endorsement that trumps them all will be Gov. Schwarzeneggar for Romney.
A Chicago Sun-Times article – pay-off

Obama's problem is noted in the following paragraph of the article, to wit:

A few months after Obama became a U.S. senator, he and Rezko's wife, Rita, bought adjacent pieces of property from a doctor in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood -- a deal which has dogged Obama the last two years. The doctor sold the mansion to Obama for $1.65 million -- $300,000 below the asking price. Rezko's wife paid full price -- $625,000 -- for the adjacent vacant lot. The deals closed in June 2005. Six months later, Obama paid Rezko's wife $104,500 for a strip of her land, so he could have a bigger yard. At the time, it had been widely reported that Tony Rezko was under federal investigation. Questioned later about the timing of the Rezko deal, Obama called it "boneheaded" because people might think the Rezkos had done him a favor.

The days when a politico is bribed by the briber handing him a white envelope filled with hundred dollar bills is long gone.     The politicos are much more subtle.    If I wanted to bribe you I would not give you a red dime.    I would however employ Elizabeth, or Benjamin.   If it was a serious bribe I would engage Larry so that my payout would not be questioned.     This device is 'old hat' and Fed is 'wise' as to this device.    The fed also knows about my buying your product, your car, your house etc.    The latest is the discount game.     It works as follows:   The briber purchases a parcel of land.    The person who is to be bribed purchases n what appears to be an 'arms length' transaction the parcel from the briber.    The bribe can be in the form of a discount in the price - such as occurred in the Obama situation, or in favorable terms.   (Ryan prosecution).     The public official never signs anything - it is his wife, mistress, child, brother in law et al that completes the transaction.   Obama used his wife, Ryan used his children.

The investment that rises in value is the method that the Clintons lean toward.   Hillary purchases an option, and by a series of manse transactions the value rises from $1000 to $100000.00.

All that said the attraction of Obama is that he is 'likable.'     He comes across as a 'nice person.'     His wife is a charmer, and appears to be a 'real person.'    He does not come with a history of divorces, he has never lost his law license, never enabled amoral conduct, is not a rich son of a rich father, and he does not wear his religion on his chest as a badge.    He could fit into our family and most families as one of the 'kids.'    The big downside is the fact that he is 'approachable' by the criminal elements i.e. our State politicos and their ilk.    He should be prosecuted for the bribe and sent to jail.    It will not happen for the same reason that it did not happen to Hillary.     If it had been you, you would be on your way to jail.

It is a lead pipe certainty that Obama this time will not get the Democratic nomination.    He will not get it because of the 'hue' of his skin pure and simple.   In a not so subtle manner, Hillary and Edwards' pitch is purely racial.    Yes they have a right to comment on Obama's indiscretion (criminal activity) but you have to be blind and deaf not to recognize the appeal to racism that is being engendered.    Obama in recent weeks have been reacting to the racism but it is sooo like the racism that Larry and Debra Curry encountered at Discover.    Some of my best friends are 'Jewish!'   I just have as little to do with them as possible.
I played a pow and now I'm endorsing one...so hollyweird...and mccain wil still start wars with his hair trigger attitude about things
McCain......being a POW doens't qualify one for leadership.  Seems to me the hardship would skew your sense of judgement a little.  Who else served honorably in the Military?  Seems like Dr. Ron Paul was a flight surgon in the USAF for about 5 years.  There's a leader!  Go Ron Paul. Screw the Press Bitch.  And everybody should, they are not your friend.
No, please don't make me choose between Sly and Chuck.
Tell you what, let's have them duke it out at the convention. Whoever wins, their candidate gets the Republican nod.
Yo, uh Adrien,  how do you spell endorsement,  yo uh thats what i thought!!!
STOP!! or my mother will shoot!

another Sly endorsement.
Can cartoon characters endorse people?
the hukster has a make belive tough guy backing him and now mccant has a make belive tough guy backing him, a no hold barred cage match is needed to see which one is the biggest phoney tough guy.
As far as "matching the Character to the script" here's a novel idea - How about a President who actually UPHOLDS and ENFORCES the LAWS of the country that he is elected to serve!!! John McCain was AND STILL IS on the WRONG side of the Illegal immigration issue. Even after 80% of the American people expressed their OUTRAGE at the idea of granting AMNESTY to Illegal aliens John McCain STILL SUPPORTS IT!!! Another President who REFUSES to do the right thing on this issue?!! - NEVER!!!!
Can somebody inform Stallone that he didn't actually fight in Vietnam, those were just movie sets. What's all this talk about "you have to have someone who has been in that [rough action] to deal with that". Yes, Sylvester, and you are the first person we should look to for real world combat experience.
I dunno Mick. You think this is the right thing to do?
john mcCain is the ONLY candidate who can lead the u.s out of the war in iraq with a victory. his troop surge is working, and had it been implimented two years ago when he first proposed it, the u.s military presence in iraq would be all but gone by now, with a successful mission under their belt and a safer america to go home to.
Cut me Mick, Cut me. come on cut me Mick, cut me
Nobody should be surprised that Stallone endorsed McCain, since McCain is the AMNESTY CANDIDATE. In January 2007, WHILE IN MEXICO, Stallone denounced the building of the wall between the U.S and Mexico, while glorifying the illegal aliens in the U.S. Stallone is NO HERO.
How about that, an endorsement from Sylvester The Mind. That's good enough for the entire nation -- NOT to vote for McCain. What a joke.
