Let the spin begin.  Let me guess:
1) It was the black vote
2) Senator Clinton didn't really campaign here
3) Senator Clinton only does well on off days under the lights on artificial grass.

Can't wait to hear the ridiculous spin from the Clinton flacks.
The sizeable black presence in SC all but ensured Obama's victory.  This isn't a criticism, it's just an acknowledgment.  Here's hoping Obama pulls off the impossible and beats slick Hilly.
Um, since when are projections based solely on exit polls?
Go Obama!!  Wooooo!!  I'm a Romney supporter, but Obama is my second choice.  I'd love to see a general election of Obama vs. Romney!
Great hatchet job by the mainstream media; your candidate won.  Let's just hope you didn't destroy the Dem's chances of wining the general election, as the GOP will eat him alive.
MSNBC - the Obama news channel
Congratulations OB from the UK!
AS an Asian Living in this Country for a long time, I would love to see Senator Obama winning SC, and thus giving a tough fight to the Clinton's who always whine on their losses and do the neg. campaining and crying which not only shows their weekness but also their inability.
How sad. MLK will be rolling in his grave today.

Apparently, the blacks (and I'm black) do not understand what it means to judge a candidate by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I'm proud of the whie voters of SC.
Go Obama!!!

I think it's worth noting that after hearing these results, I once again feel hopeful about our country's future and its political process. Previous to this, I have been feeling extremely disheartened.

Obviously, you can tell that I am an Obama supporter, however, I think the more important question to be asking is, doesn't everyone feel better now that the dirty and cynical politics of the Clintons have been rejected? And more importantly, don't we feel inspired that a "substantial" consensus of South Carolina has embraced the possibility of a new type of politics...a new vision of how we need to conduct ourselves in this country.

Go Obama! We can do this if we have the courage to stand up!!
The way the numbers look at this (extremely early) stage, it may very well be the case that he got a substantial amount of the white vote as well.  Here's hoping, so that Scott's premonition of the spin will be impossible--that the Clintons won't be able to downplay this loss.  My thought (and hope) is that Democratic voters of every race were turned off by the Clinton machine.  Good job media for backing up Barack  by making the Clinton-Rezko photo a headline.
The man has taken it to the people! Mr.Obama has no fear of the Clinton's. The clintons have again been caught in another lie, and that surly nothing new! The Clinton's tactics have open no new door. Obama will continue to defeat HRC, because yesterdays failure in congress show just how negative and dis liked.

The party is not over till the ringing of the bell, then and only then,,,Put out the Dog and Throw out the trash. Clinton's can turn off the lights!!!
Until tonight, I actually thought that America had woken up and decided to use their brain when voting.
The media created this 'race-bating' story, and people ate it up like high school rumors.
Apparently not,as anyone with half a brain knows that Hillary is the only one who can take on the GOP. Obama's message is elementary and shallow.  Wake up, people!!!
I wonder what Michael and Chris think about women votes for Hilary. To Chris, NO dems chances of winning in November is still high and to Michael,my question is did the whites in Iowa and New Hampshire vote for Obama because he is black?
YAY! YAY! YAY!

I am so happy that Senator Obama got this WELL DESERVED win! :)

Obama '08
Obama got 25% of the white vote; far better than projected.  I too, am proud of white voters in SC. Yee hah white voters of the Palmetto State. I am white and I think that white voters see Barack as a man for all seasons.  He will bring the country together.  Through this black man we shall rid this nation of racism...got that Bill?
Obama '08... the 'real' first black President; Bill abdicated the title.
Will a potential Clinton II be as bad for the Democratic party as Bush II is for the Republicans?
Congratulations to Senator Obama.  It looks like he got a larger than predicted white vote.  I will be going to the MN caucus to support Senator Obama.  It would be refreshing to have someone that smart in the White House.  I really don't think the white vote is going to be as much of a problem as the media hype claims.  My area is rural, largely white, and a lot of us support the Senator.
Well deserved win. Congrats and keep it going!
South Carolina, Senator Obama, 51; Hillary 34, Edwards 19. Mr. Obama has been declared the projected winner!  He is projected to win by an even wider margin!!  NOW, THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A REAL UPSET!!!   Way to go South Carolina, THANK YOU!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO SENATOR OBAMA!!!

FIRED UP AND READY TO GO!!!  YES, WE CAN, YES, WE CAN!!
Chris, I woke up in 2004 after watching the DNC convention and woke up to a new leader of our party. Barack Obama. Shallow? Go to his Web site, click on the issues button and download is 64-page Blueprint for America. Hillary doesn't have anything like it. Only one who can take on the GOP? Hell, Obama is taking their voters with him. Hillary can't do that. Bring on the GOP. Obama and the rest of us are not afraid of them. If Hillary can't pin anything on him do you think the GOP can? Hillary's henchmen oppo researchers are just as good as the GOP's.
Chris, I agree with you but the media made race an the important factor in South Carolina.  But it's hard for a black person not to vote for the first black candiate every and hope not the last man or woman.  I believe Hillary will win the an be our next President and if she isn't this country is in big trouble.  She is the one that can fix this mess the Republicans put us in.  Please American WAKE UP and smell the roses.  VOTE FOR Hillary
THANK YOU SOUTH CAROLINA...now the rest of us need to have the courage to stand up for Senator Obama and his vision - our vision - of the direction for our country.

Don't let us be divided - Stand Up America! Yes We Can!
Great results and congratulations to Senator Obama. May this continue going forward. Lots of talk about young voters in Sen. Obama's camp....I have always been an Independent but I feel so strongly about the character and judgment, not to mention intelligence and much more, of Barack Obama that I have changed my status to Democrat so I can vote for him on Super Tuesday here in AZ. And, I am not in that chronologically "young" category; rather, I am a mature 71 year old Caucasian woman who grew up in Massachusetts and Maine with ethics, integrity, character, substance and judgment being among the most important characteristics I want in my friends and in every elected official in this very damaged country in which we reside. There is so much to be done to make changes in D.C.; business cannot go on as usual and I feel that Senator Obama has what it takes to do the job and do it well. HE GETS IT!!!!!
South Carolina:  Senator Obama - 53; Hillary - 28, John Edwards - 29.  John Edwards is closing in on Hillary!!!

Sorry, Mona, Hillary and her crazed pittbull do not represent honesty, integrity, leadership, good judgement and cohesiveness.  Barack Obama encompasses all these traits in abundance!  This day, I am enjoying smelling the roses!!  ummm, lovely!!!

I have to pinch my nose everytime I read something about the Clintons, the stench is enough to make one faint!  (YUCK!!)  It wasn't the media that brought up race issue, it was the Clintons and their minions. Dont blame the press, they just repeated what the Clintons and their supporters were saying.  Please do not blame the MESSENGERS, they were doing their jobs!!
Michael:
Do you think blacks are judging Obama by his skin and not the content of his character? Have you studied hi background and that of Hillary? Have you noted Obama community activism, while Hillary has a long history of being a polarizing and divisive politicians? Anyone who claims that blacks (I am white) are choosing Obama solely for his blackness is utterly ignorant.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SENTATOR OBAMA!!! (LOUD APPLAUSE!!!)

South Carolina watched, listened, made keen observations and they did not like what they were seeing from the Hillary/Bill camp.  CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH CAROLINA, AND THANK YOU!!!

Unfortunately, get ready for further and nastier hate and dirtier slash-and-burn tactics by the Clintons.  Bill doesn't like losing. While he is not on the ticket, he has injected himself into Hillary's campaign in such a way that Hillary no longer talks about "I" but "WE".  Bill hardly talks of Hillary or she; he has made it a "WE" campaign as well.

Hillary cannot stand by herself, she is weak-kneed! she has to rely on Bill to be her lifeline and floatation device. Yep, she is a strong and independent woman.  Really?  Who is she trying to kid???

Phew!! The stench of the sour grapes is nauseating!!

YOU GO OBAMA!!!
Congratz to Barack Obama on this resounding Victory. With 25% of the caucasion vote (29% caucasion Male's)Barack showed he's able to form a coalition for a Democratic Victory in Novemeber. I would also like to state, that, the DNC should take NOTICE of a key constituency that OVERWHELMINGLY showed the Clinton's just how Pissed they are. Result's of Nv & SC show, 8 out of 10 African American voter's voting for Barack, whereas before they were split.African American's are Severely pissed at the Clinton campaign, with good reason.Over 150,000 came out to vote today, twice as many as 2004.The Clinton's will NOT recover this vote any time soon. REMEMBER NOVEMBER DEMOCRATS!

Barack Obama for President!!!!!!!!
