Hillary's statement on SC results

Posted: Saturday, January 26, 2008 8:22 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
Clinton released this statement: "I have called Senator Obama to congratulate him and wish him well. Thank you to the people of South Carolina who voted today and welcomed me into their homes over the last year. Your stories will stay with me well beyond this campaign and I am grateful for the support so many of you gave to me. We now turn our attention to the millions of Americans who will make their voices heard in Florida and the twenty-two states as well as American Samoa who will vote on February 5th.

"In the days ahead, I'll work to give voice to those who are working harder than ever to be heard. For those who have lost their job or their home or their health care, I will focus on the solutions needed to move this country forward. That's what this election is about. It's about our country, our hopes and dreams. Our families and our future."

A quick note about Clinton's statement: While American Samoa will actually award delegates to the Democratic National Convention, Florida WILL NOT. The Democratic National Committee stripped Florida -- like it did Michigan -- of ALL of its delegates for moving its primary before February 5. The eventual nominee can decide to sit Florida's and Michigan's delegates at the convention, but they won't count toward deciding the nominee.

So while Florida Democrats will vote in the state's primary on January 29, the contest will not be awarding delegates.

H Country - Obama didn't give a concession speech in Nevada because he won more delegates than Clinton there.  He was gracious enough not to give a victory speech that night.
Anyone who believes that Florida and Michigan will not be seated and counted at the Democratic convention is out of their ever loving mind. The Democratic party simply can not write off Michigan and Florida in the general election which is what will happen if they snub their delegates at the convention. Obama may object since he lost Michigan and will lose Florida next Tuesday but they WILL be seated. (After the appropriate but phoney arguements of course)
Leonard: To compare Chris Matthews to a reporter is like comparing my dog to a ball player. Yes, the dog chases the ball but he has no idea where first base is nor can he hit the darn thing. I have been critical of MSNBC for some time now and have asked them to let me know when they post something positive about either Bill or Hillary Clinton. That would be such a momentous ocasion I would hate to miss it.
Alexandria...woman with common sense, intelligence and good judgement will vote for a women who is worthy...Hillary is NOT!  Obama did not turn SC into a race primary...half of SC registered voters are black and had the good sense to realize he IS the best choice.  All of you ignorant voters out there need check yourselves.  This country needs leadership.  Leadership that this nation will look up too and the world will respect.  Not the trash we have had posing as leadership for the last 15 years.

Obama is not a whip.  Stop fooling yourselves and grow up to learn about and acknowledge what real leadership is suppose to look like...a man with integrity facing challenges.  If you don't know what that means get a dictionary.  Most of you Clinton supporters are clueless and the rest are just as crooked as the Clintons for standing behind them and endorsing their tacky political lives.  You fools have the nerve to complain about GW Bush when you support a future of a tacky and failing America by wanting Clintons in the White House.

Research political history of America and learn what the meaning of hope is.  This country needs HOPE.  This country needs to be UNITED.  This country needs OBAMA!

Put your ignorance in a grave and leave it there...it's a new day.

YES WE CAN!

There is a reason that MSNBC is the network with five letters and no viewers. South Carolina is not a big win for Barack Obama. He played the race card and got the African-American vote...that won't work on super Tuesday!!!
Welll, its like this party is over! The halls are now empty, the loud band music has faded away. The floors are all clean and they took out the trash and threw out the dog. The winner has moved on to the next town, with all the lies and promises of a greater change. I Have heard it all in the past sixty five years. The lies, half lies, bald faced lies, white lies and black lies, I'LL sneak you in the back door ""If you don't tell on me""! I'LL take away all the taxes you don't want and even that part is left behind on the stump they just jumped off.

Even truth in politics has no loyalty, Mr, G where did your endorsement high tail it to, Mr. John ""you stole Mr.G's endorsement"! LOL,

Well America, Time rolls on and so do the stump jumping liars!!

Until tomorrow America, Happy polling and don't drive drunk!!!!! and the band played on.........

Oh please! Hillary did not win NV. We all know that popular vote means zip. We do not need to rehash this over and over.  Obama took more delegates than Hillary and therefore won NV. He did not owe her a concession speech. She claims popular vote when it benefits her and delegates when it benefits her.

I watched all the speeches from everyone tonight.. and Hillary took less than a half a sentence on Obama's win. That was not a concession and barely a congratulation. At least Edwards was gracious.

Perhaps no one really pays attention to what is really going on...But a large group of very high profile hispanics and latinos endorsed Obama in California. If she is counting on their vote, she needs to rethink that one!

Goodbye Bill and Hillary.. time to turn the page

Obama '08!

Hello! Voting for the classless, sleazy, low rent, mean spirited, socialist Clinton's is NOT change!
I tell ya those clintons really need to get out of the way of progress
How come every time I read about support of Hillary it is because she is a WOMAN? Why do these same supporters believe Barack Obama only wins because he is African-American?

Take a look at the candidates and waht they bring to the table. In my view, the Clintons rob the people of their dignity and intelligence with they distortion of the truth. Obama, on the other hand, is truthful, even if it hurts. Clintons remind us of the injustices of the past, and their bitterness shows through in their campaign message. Obama allows us to see the future with hope.

The election of a President is about the future of the United States. Congratulations, Obama!

YES WE CAN!
Boy I never knew hating someone has become a job catagory.
She was gracious in her lose and you people play the hate card, so much for coming together here.
I want to say the insight about women supporting women is right on.....it needs to be there. We need to see women in visible positions as this will evenutally change deep undercurrents of myths and misguided concepts. California is a great example of being comfortable with females in political office. With that all being said...I am voting for Hillary because she is the most capable and cares about our country and families. This doesn't take away Obama's talents. I just feel Hillary is the one to lead the country and has the vision to make it happen!!
crybay ob won now nbc msnbc and cnn can be happy againsad to say i watch fox now a least the are fair.i can tell the hole bunch of so called journ. would be yanked of the aair in europe.rember the deb. in sc. all the windbag did is stammer. by the way ob as in body odor? you go girl kick ass. hillary 08
National being HRC has turned Green, could that be from having  to eat all the garbage she handed out in the last two weeks?

Low class, Americans have better moral being than the Clinton's think. America sent a real message, "The white trailer trash will not badger its' way into the White House this time! There is no pity for continued stupid low life tactics. America is finished serving low moral content, scandal, race cards, gender cards, supporting a bald faced liar, racist diversion, coat tail experience.

The Clinton's are immoral tramps of past, let us keep them there! America has moved far past their style immoral being!
Funny how the Hillary supporters are all saying it is about race.
Obama people aren't.
So, who do you think brought up the race card?
It sucks that my Florida vote will again not count.

Our votes may not matter if the electronic votes are not backed up by printed ballots!  I want to be sure my vote is counted and not tampered with in the final election!  Are you listening Media?
He played the race card and got the African-American vote...

How did he do that?  By being black?  Trust me if Hillary could turn black for votes, she would.
Obama just does not have the
experience we need, to help us out of this terrible
situation.

Hillary helped us get into the situation. Remember the Iraq vote?
Hillary forgot to tell us in her statements that she contacted Edwards to offer him a deal last week during a private meeting. What did she offer him?

Obama did not give a concession speach in Nevada because he got more delegates than she did.
Have the Clinons No Shame?

I am angered by the way these two have carried themselves in this primary election campaign. Hillary has no style, no grace, no integrity and no decorum.  She was clearly in the State of Denial last night, as the wheels of her airplane were already in the air as the results rolled in.  (I guess it didn't happen if you don't believe it did) And to top it off, she is now trying to change the rules mid-game with this Michigan and Florida stunt!  Is this what we can expect from a Clinton Administration?  As a one time Clintonite, I will not and can not in good conscious vote for her if she wins the Democratic nomination. Thank you for opening my eyes Bill and Hillary.
