Rudy: 'We're gonna win today'

Posted: Tuesday, January 29, 2008 10:38 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. -- Giuliani worked to get out the vote in the Miami suburbs Tuesday, and continued to dodge questions about future plans if he does not win the Florida primary.

“We’re gonna win today,” Giuliani said while sitting at the counter of the Wolfie Cohen's Rascal House diner, munching on cereal and coffee with Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum. “That’s our answer. We’re gonna win today.”

Giuliani started the day with a series of television interviews, and reiterated that he intends to travel to California either tonight or tomorrow and participate in the CNN debate on Wednesday.

But while campaign aides continue to defend their strategy to largely bypass the early primary states, Giuliani seemed to acknowledge the pitfalls of the strategy. He told interviewers that other candidates were able to garner momentum from early wins and that watching other candidates win “hurt” his fund-raising efforts.

“That’s what happens with these things, you get one win and get a tremendous amount of momentum,” he told CNBC’s Squak Box. “That hurts us in the early primaries because other people have won. That’s the biggest impact we’re feeling. If we win this it changes everything.”

NBC's John Yang
Giuliani tossed a baseball with aides in the parking lot of his Broward County office. A woman approached him: "Do you remember the 1960 World Series when my Pittsburgh Pirates beat your New York Yankees." He quickly named the Bill Mazeroski home run and challenged her to name the left fielder over whose head it sailed (Yogi Berra).

He also remembered a foreign policy credential: He taught Koizumi how to throw out an Opening Day first pitch.

Giuli is just McCain smokescreen. He's only out there to make McCain look better. Notice how Giuli keeps leaving all of the states that McCain is about to win just before the election starts. Because Giuli is from New York people don't pay attention to McCain's conservative bona fides.

All Rethugs lose in a landslide in 08. The polls just don't show McCain losing it yet because they aren't capturing Evangelicals.

Evangelicals hate McCain. That's why there is a Giuli smokescreen.

Without the Evangelicals the GOP doesn't have a chance as a party. The Evangelicals are 30+ percent of their general election base.

Prediction: Romney carries Florida, wins nomination. Republicans get trounced by 8+% in the general.

If McCain does by one in a million chance win the GOP nomination and the general (1 to 10000000000000000000) then invest every cent you have in Giuli's investment firm. Those two have a deal working.
if he means america wins when 911er takes a hike ,little chicken bush has declared the sky falling numerous times and now in a war we are losing on two fronts the mood shifts to the economy .COULD THE DRAIN FROM THE WAR BE AFFECTING THE ECONOMY HHHHHMMMMMMMMM
With his decision making abilities, like deciding not to run until Florida, aren't you people confident that Rudy would make a great president?............. No?........... I didn't think so. He has a lot of nerve to have written a book and named it "Leadership", "Horrible Leadership" should be the name of his revised version of said book.
RUDY HAS BEEN IN FLORIDA TOO LONG, HE FOUND SOME OF THAT GOOD STUFF AND IS HALLUNICATING
I'm surprised McCain didn't make that claim - afterall, he's been the one LYING all weekend.
I'm surprised McCain didn't make that claim - afterall, he's been the one LYING all weekend.
Guiliani won't win...

McCain shouldn't - we don't need a "leader" who has been lying to the nation all weekend.  He's also been known to lie to his various wives - if SHE can't trust him, who can???
Win what, big boy?
We want the ball and we're gonna score!

heheh

Sorry, Seattle.
9/11

What else do we need to know??
I'd take Guiliani over McCain any day...

McCain used to be high on my list - but now he's just a scary old man who apparently will stoop to anything to try and get elected.

And the mere thought of having that whiny, self-righteous, dimwitted twit Huckabee as a V.P. makes me want to hurl!

Could there be a bigger pair of political DORKS than John McCain or Huckabee?

The nation would be a laughing stock with those two horses asses!
Memo to that lying moron McCain:

Quit lying... and quit making a fool of yourself  - and the nation.

Winning by ANY means ISN'T character... and when you have to go around TELLING everyone you have integrity - you probably don't have nearly as much as you thought!

Kind of like Huckabee TELLING everyone he is a "christian".
Romney is the financial genius...

McCain lies about admitting he isn't a finacial anything...
(Huckabee can only lie about having a theology degree...)

I like Rudy okay, but he doesn't have a chance...

I DON'T like McCain anymore... he would bring all of that hate and anger to a place we don't need it - the White House!
Rudy better find a Bingo Game if he wants to win something.
American needs a financial genius: Romney...

American DOESN'T need a cranky old, lying momma's boy!
what did McCain lie about over the weekend?  Can someone fill me in?  I can't stand Guiliani and I'm from NYC.
Rudy has squandered his reputation in more ways than I care to count.  Turn out the lights, this guy is over.
We do not need this country be run by one of the overpaid CEO/Leveraged Buyout Company guys which have been stripping the US of it's middle class jobs and sending them all to China.  The ex-Bain Consulting & Bain Capital guy is the last person we need running the show.

deede- If you go back through some of the First Read articles from yesterday and Sunday you'll find out.  In the debate on Saturday, McCain claimed that he had never said that he was weak on economics... even though he has been quoted as saying just that in at least 2 huge newspapers (I think the NYT and Boston Globe).  he also lied in the debate and said he's won the republican base twice (NH and SC- nope- exit polls said he only won those states because of the independents).

But the biggest, most notable lie was the one he said about Romney on Sunday- he said that Romney supported timetables for withdrawel from Iraq (surrender like Hillary).  Even the liberal media is calling him out on this lie.  What Romney said was that he thought milestones/timetables/GOALS for the progress of the war (NOT WITHDRAWEL) should be privately set/discussed within the US government and with the non-terrorist Iraqi government.  Anyone with a brain who is not a war monger (McCain) would see that setting goals is how you accomplish a win.  McCain has yet to say what a "win" is.  He wants our troops to "win" this war by being there for 100 years.  Romney wants our troops to win by setting specific goals and accomplishing them.

The obvious train of thought is that Romney HAS thought about a plan to win and McCain is just panicking as his lead decreases.
"Romney is the financial genius... "

So is Micheal Milken - then he went to prison. How many of you people equate wealth with God-hood? Bush would Jesus if money were virtue. Anything else you care about, except that Romney has money? Like where it came from? (Hint: it's in India.)
Lee, Romney started a successful business, which in turn saved numerous failing businesses and funded several successful start-ups.  That's where his money came from.  Good for him- he fulfilled the American dream. Where did he NOT get money from?  He did NOT accept money when he fixed the Olympics and he did NOT accept a salary as governor of Massachusetts and he has said that he will NOT accept a salary if elected president. Gee, a true servant of the people.

Jelously is unbecoming.  Quit hating him because he's rich.  It's pathetic.
I love seeing the fiscal conservatives and the evangelicals fight.

YOUR COALITION IS OVER
One more GOP 'Financial Genius', and we'll tie Burkina Faso in the 'Bottom 500'.
Kira- he outsourced any number of jobs. Period.

Stop worshipping wealth - it's pathetic and unbecomming.
I thought dems were the ones who liked to play in the mud until FL.  At least Huck, Paul and Guili are playing clean - so far.  The negs for both McVain and Robney are thru the roof.
To Lee who wrote, Bush would be Jesus if money were virtue.

In case you forgot your Pastor in Chief President Bush.
Is an evangelical Christian who counseled God before entering us into Iraq.

Woops.

I wonder how long it takes for the evangelicals to figure out that they are being used by fiscal conservatives. Maybe they'll never no.

The same joke has been played on them for centuries.
AFTER Listening to the state of the LIES address by our incompetent president Bush. I am now convinced that there are at least TWO CHILDREN LEFT BEHIND in the old  "Republican School of mistrust"

One is George Looser Bush in Washington

and the other one is Rudy Looser Giuliani in Florida

what a pair of loosers these two are. !!!!    We should rejoice to see them go soon.

hahahahahaha
