Now that is a real "get"!!!

Come on....this is nothing!

Hillary is really losing it!
She has CA in the bag with or without endorsements.
Mika just announced the maxine waters endorsement on msnbc and she passed over it like a hurrican but if it was Obama she would have stayed there and lament over it for 5 minutes....You guys are really turning off viewers especially the morning joe show...Is there a job waiting for Joe and Mika in an Obama administration..Msnbc was nevr like this..I cant believe it...
Obama is formally endorsed by a governor of a red state today (there's only 50 days), and Hillary's "big announcement" was an edorsement by a HOUSE REP (more than 400 of 'em)?  Weak!

Oh, let me play the Hillary-card real quick.  Is Maxine Waters white?  I wonder why she's endorsing Hillary!

See how foolish that sounds?
John Lewis really helped Hillary in SC didn't he.....

Rep. Waters Endorses Clinton

NEW YORK (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton has won the backing of California Rep. Maxine Waters, an influential member of the Congressional Black Caucus whose support could help blunt charges of racial polarization against the Clinton campaign in the South Carolina primary.

Clinton and Waters were expected to announce the endorsement via conference call later Tuesday.

In a statement, Waters praise the former first lady's readiness to tackle the nation's economic woes.

"At a time when the economy continues to worsen and so many of my constituents are losing their homes and their jobs, we need someone with the leadership and experience who can step in on day one to tackle the economic challenges our country is facing," Waters said. "Hillary understands the daily challenges that people are facing and she will fight for them everyday she is in the White House."

Issues of race and gender have come to the forefront of the campaign, pitting Clinton, who hopes to be the first female president, against Obama, seeking to become the first black to hold the job.

Also, Her husband was appointed ambassador by Bill Clinton.

Yes, and no false promises or bribes from the Kennedy's will bring the Hispanic vote to the Junior Senator from Illinois.  JFK had 4 times the experience in Congress/Senate and had leadership experience from serving during WWII.  Obama is no JFK and his only experience at war is pacifism and willingness to provide assistance to those fighting against us.

Mervin, get a grip.  The Kennedy clan endorsement of Obama was a big story - certainly bigger than Maxine Waters.  Deal.
I completely agree mervin.. I turned to Morning Joe late last year because I was infuriated that the Today Show only spent 15 minutes on important issues. Over the past month, I've watched as Mika and Joe have become major endorsers of the Obama campaign and can't seem to hide their full support.
Ooh, and I've heard that the LA coroner is ready to jump onboard her campaign, too.  How exciting!
Go Maxine! She could have easily endorsed Obama, who is increasingly becoming the "establishment" candidate (endorsed by Kennedy, Kerry, Leahy, Kent Conrad, et.al.) For Ms. Waters to endorse Hillary is a MAJOR COUP for Hillary in California!!!

Vote Hillary in '08 for CHANGE and HOPE!!!
Mika - "I have relatives working for Obama, but I'm not supporting anyone". lol lol lol
That's oddd.....

Maxine Waters is a real progressive....

It's a surprising endorsement
Wow what a get!!!

I can see where there was a meeting of the minds.  CREW (citizen for responsibility and ethics in washington), a major progressive organization gives Maxine Waters a distinct recognition.   She has been designated one of the top 13 in Congress -- top 13 most corrupt people in congress that is!  Maybe HRC promised some pardons?

• Rep. Maxine Waters: The report cites a December 2004 Los Angeles Times investigation disclosing how members of the congresswoman's family have made more than $1 million in the last eight years by doing business with companies, candidates and causes that Waters has helped. Before publication of the Times investigation last year, Waters declined to be interviewed, but said of her family members: "They do their business, and I do mine."
The Governor of Kansas vs a no name, polarizing Congresswoman. Another reason why Hillary cannot win a general election.
Come on guys give this some media, if this was Obama there would be a rally, march and 15min interview. The media in all markets has really turned there backs to Hillary and that isn't right and I hpe people are seeing.
I am an Hillary supporter, but with all these reports I hear about how she's using pressure and fear-factor to get these endorsements, I am beginning to get scared.

Do these people endorsing her truly believe in her ? Or just scared of her ?
Obama wins backing of Kansas governor

TOPEKA, Kan. — Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday she will endorse Democrat Barack Obama for president, giving the candidate a Super Tuesday boost.

Her announcement came hours ahead of Obama's rally in El Dorado, the hometown of his grandfather on his mother's side, and one week before the Kansas caucuses, which are part of the multistate contests Feb. 5. Sebelius said she would attend the event to "welcome him back to Kansas and join the campaign."

I am a CA democrat, and since I have only a cell phone, I am in a very large un-polled demographic.  Those without landlines are a very young demographic, and that demo has broken towards Obama in every contest so far.  I, too will be voting Obama next Tuesday.  If you think Hillary has California sewn up, think again.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters is considered by many to be one of the most powerful women in American politics today.  She has gained a reputation as a fearless and outspoken advocate for women, children, people of color and poor people.
Elected in November 1998 to her fifth term in the House of Representatives with an overwhelming 89 percent of the votes in the 35th District of California, Congresswoman Maxine Waters represents a large part of South Central Los Angeles and the diverse cities of Gardena, Hawthorne and Inglewood.

In 1997-98, Rep. Waters served a two-year term as the Chair of the 39-member Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). She formulated the comprehensive Agenda for Black America–an agenda for justice, equality and fairness–which outlined CBC’s legislative and programmatic priorities.  Those initiatives included a commitment to drug-free, safe and healthy communities; educational and technological opportunities; and job creation and economic development. The priorities also encompassed voting and civil rights; environmental justice; the protection of the most vulnerable Americans; and the promotion of opportunities for all Americans.

For the 106th Congress, Rep. Waters has been  appointed to the influential leadership position of Chief Deputy Whip of the Democratic Party. She continues to be a member of the House Committee on Banking and Financial Services and the Ranking Member of the Domestic and International Monetary Policy Subcommittee. She is also on banking subcommittees on General Oversight and Investigations and on Housing and Community Oportunity

Since Chuck & co dont have time to share Maxine's background:-)

PHOENIX — Democratic U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona is endorsing Barack Obama after earlier backing John Edwards in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Grijalva cited Obama's electability and his intention to "fundamentally change the rules of the game" in Washington, according to a statement obtained by The Associated Press in advance of a planned Tuesday conference call with reporters.
The third-term congressman, whose southern Arizona district includes Yuma and parts of Tucson, is the second prominent Arizona Democrat to endorse Obama in the immediate run-up to the state's Feb. 5 presidential primary.

"First Read is an analysis of the day's political news, from the NBC News political unit"
Where is the analysis here?  "The endorsement Hillary Clinton is picking up today is from California Rep. Maxine Waters (D)." I'm looking for context - headlines I can get anywhere.   Any thoughts on the relevance, or lack thereof, of this particular endorsement to the Clinton campaign?  The public relies on more knowledgeable individuals, such as yourselves, to help us understand the nuances of these events and to help aid us in picking our party's nominee.  Don't leave the interpretation and discussion merely to the political quacks and party surrogates patrolling the boards here! If MSNBC wants to come near the quality of political commentary of other sites, like Salon.com, you've got to put some effort behind it guys and gals!
Ron dear, go to realclearpolitics and see current and updated polls from all states and it will certainly make you cry. Why? Go see for yourself. Obama ain't gonna win it.
Here go the Hillary bashers again. The Waters endorsement Is a big deal. I challenge msnbc to give it half the coverage they gave the Kennedy endorsement yesterday. Will they? Probably not. They've already crowned Obama. Fox News 2.
More than 80 volunteer lawyers for Guantanamo Bay detainees today endorsed Illinois Senator Barack Obama's presidential bid.

Heres one and you got it here first Russell Fox endorces Obama....whats that worth the same as Jamieson nothing but a p hole in the snow....

Maxine bless her heart...too little to late.  If she is suppose to sway AA that train has left the station.  However she might want to think about her own job
Waters is a "MAJOR" endorsement.
I did not inject race into this campaign.
Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton really IS change (depending on what the definition of 'IS' is.

Wouldn't you think someone would tell them that this just makes them look desperate, manipulative and just plain nasty.
Oh, let me play the Hillary-card real quick.  Is Maxine Waters white?  I wonder why she's endorsing Hillary!

See how foolish that sounds?

Ron, TX (Sent Tuesday, January 29, 2008 12:01 PM)

Super Delegates COUNT. Delegates COUNT. You do sound foolish, but considering most of your posts, that's an improvement...
Yesterday, the Clinton campaign wailed that the Kennedy endorsement wouldn't change 3 votes.  Today, they are claiming that the Waters' endorsement is a major coup.

Pretty funny.
I have a serious case of Clinton fatigue.

I am also increasingly wary of the constant whining from Clinton's supporters.  They are the epitome of everything that is wrong with the Clintons.  They spew hateful rhetoric and demonize the opposition.  This is stuff right out of Karl Rove's playbook.

I don't want 4 more years of the Clintons.  I have had enough of them.  They are polarizing and devisive.  There is no way Hillary Clinton can build the political consensus necessary to move America forward.  Republicans despise the Clintons.  And now the Clintons are polarizing the democratic party.  We need a clear break from the acrimonious politics of the past.  That is why I cannot in conscience vote for Hillary.
When Joan Walsh from Salon.com said to Mika that there was nothing racial from Hillary and showed a different perspective which countered MSNBC Obama Bible, all Mika could do is "Hmm, that is interesting!" David Shuster said "Yes you are right Joan". And Mika said thank you for coming, we will be in touch. LOL

Such lopsided coverage, cant even hear counter perspectives with grace. But then again, when was Obama graceful. He showed his classlessness yesterday.
Reading that Joe Scarborough is an endorser of the Obama campaign is the funniest thing I've read in some time!  Some of you Billary people are hysterical w/ your paranoia!

You know he's a Republican, don't you?  He was in Congress for several years.  He said the other day that, while his victory speech in SC was very good, he wasn't going to vote for him.  Is Pat Buchanan a big Obama supporter, too?

The last vestige of people in disarray is to blame the media.  Republicans have done it since Nixon.  Blame the media for every problem.  Now the Clinton's have taken a page from Nixon's playbook.  Wow!
Leaders in South Carolina supported Hillary Clinton, yet she received a 'shellacking' by the voters. Barack Obama won 44 out of 46 counties there.
Maxine Waters will be forgiven by Pres-elect Barack Obama. She will see the light. All will be forgiven.
Maxines husband was IN THE CLINTON CABINET!!!!!!!!!!

This endorsement is worthless.  Gov. Schwarengar is endorsing OBAMA!!
Oh yes,Just Wonderful Obama is being endorsed by the Governor of KANSAS. What a thrill!!! We all know that the people from Kansas are inbred. PULEEEEASE!!!! GET A LIFE !!!!
I just dont see why the Hillary camp billed this as a 'huge endorsement'. It's always the folk who are the old style of politics endorsing Clinton, they just don't 'get' the Obama excitement.

And stop the hating on Morning Joe.  Him and Mika are entertaining and informative.  And if Scarborough is moved by Obama's speeches you can't hate him for that.  He's a die hard conservative and even he knows that we have to get past this divisive style of politics.  I mean can you honestly say that Hillary would even attempt to bring the country back together?

DOES MAXINE WEAR PANTS TOO?
Super Tuesday

Have you made up your mind on a Presidential Candidate?

http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=1651

.
hmm who is this guy? I'm living in california, but seriously I don't know him. Maybe I need to educate myself more? Or maybe he is not that popular. I read the news everyday but never heard of this guy
Man, it sounds to me like folks are spending WAY too much time in front of their TV's being spoon-fed their news by the talking heads.  For the sake of your free-thinking mind:  turn that thing off!  I can't fathom the bickering that goes back and forth in here around what different TV personalities are saying or not saying.  What a trip.....
We love you Maxine!!!!
Both the Kennedy endorsement and the Waters endorsement are big. Takes more guts for Maxine Waters to buck the tide in the AA community though.

Barack, with apologies to Teddy.....is no Jack and certainly NO BOBBY Kennedy. He sounds great and gives lofty but empty  speeches. Bobby fought aparthied, poverty, racism and the war at a time when it could cost you your life~ for RFK it did.

Barack is a Pergo version of Bobby. Glossier, yes. But, where's the beef?
Actually, for Californians, women AND African-Americans, a Maxine Waters endorsement is a big deal. But for anyone that needs an "endorsement" to make up your own mind, then something is really amiss.

As far as Morning Joe (a/k/a Obama Lovefest), I've had to remove the channel, as I can't stand to see Mika and Joe fall over each other every morning to see who can lick Obama's bootstraps quicker. To say that it is a part of NBC News really does a disservice to real journalists that are on NBC.

.....and Chris Matthews - well, what can you say? If he isn't on the Obama payroll already, he certainly should be.  Funny how MSNBC mocks Fox News for claiming to be "fair and balanced"....

Pot....kettle....black!
