Bush-Clinton-Bush

Posted: Thursday, January 31, 2008 9:12 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Hillary's been asked that question before and it is central to Obama's argument -- why should the country vote for a Clinton when there's been either a Bush or a Clinton on the ballot for a generation. She knocked it out of the park with a line she's used before, saying, it took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush and it might take another Clinton to clean up after this Bush. It's about as good as she could answer it and it got a standing ovation. Still, Obama can make the case as generational change and turning the page on the politics of old.

*** UPDATE *** NBC/NJ's Athena Jones
adds that that line is one that's not new. I think I've heard line many, many, many, many times, she writes. It's always a winner, always gets laughs and applause, just like it did here.

Did you catch the "trajectory of change" line she used when talking about her husband's presidency?  Straight from Obama's comments about Reagan a couple of weeks ago.
IT TOOK LAURA BUSH TO CLEAN AND THROW AWAY THE SOILED MONICA RUGS, AND TO CLEAN THE LINCOLN BEDROOM AFTER THEY LET THEIR DRUG CARTEL FRIENDS STAY THERE===DISGUSTING  PLUS SHE STOLE THE FURNITURE WHEN SHE LEFT, AND THE HOUSEKEEPERS SAID SHE TRASHED IT
That answer is very conceited. It came across (to me) as saying Clinton's are the only ones who are capable of running the country.
I agree the answer Hillary gave regarding it took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush that it will take a second Clinton to clean up after the second Bush was a classic This has got to down as one of the classic lines in this race for the White House
Well, how about Edwards, Edwards, Edwards!

Since Mr. Edwards speech of "suspending his campaign", I've watched his blog site go from shock, sadness, depression and finally action.  It appears to be newsworthy.  See if you agree.

Edwards supporters aren't giving up, they're actually going to buck the system and continue to vote their candidate in the primaries - he's now being called "The People's President."

You may want to take a look at Mr. Edwards website under the blog area.  Here's just one sample of several out there.

Yes, I've put a couple of posts myself.  But, its so amazing.  People across the country are saying "We're voting for our President!  The People's President!  "

You'll find all over those blogs, Edwards supporters aren't being beaten down and giving up, rather they're joining and standing up together!

Watch the upcoming primaries.

Mr. Edwards has stood up for the people, now those people are trying to organize, to stand up for him so he can represent those without voices, in the white house!  They're voting in the primaries even though he's suspended his campaign.  The media will cant ignore the people with a loud enough roar, like they did to the single candidate.  The media needs to stop running this campaign and swaying it.  It's not what this country is about.  And it's not freedom of the press.

Visit the blog area of www.JohnEdwards.com and add notes, or if you'd like to organize in your local areas, I encourage you to do so or at minimum note contact info.

This should be interesting.. You could, once again make history - by changing the protocol of this campaign and bucking the system that is squashing the voice of this great country!

Thank you!
I thought that was a fantastic line!  I was very impressed of how clever she was to have come up with that.
EXCUSE ME. What do the Obama-ites want to do?? Put all of us who have been in the trenches for the past forty years out on an iceberg to float away forever?
funny line maybe but nevertheless the image of two families controlling the country is now in everyone's mind and personally, it's not funny.
It's about the most inane answer I've ever heard to a serious question.  Why does Hillary get a pass on this?  Because people bussed in to hear her speech laugh at it? After an hour of Mrs. Gratingly Dull, they'd laugh at anything that was sort of a joke.

Let's see how this one flies in November before we crown her the queen of bons mots.
Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton - Hillary's attempt at humor in responding to that question is dynastic and embarrasing in a nation with 300 million people!  Obama should have been given an oppotunity to respond and should have said that the Clintons and Bushs have spent decades making political deals and making enemies.  These are liabilities that we cannot allow our next President to enter the oval office with.  It's time break away from these people.
I saw the best movie on dynasty's this year.  Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore?  I think the concept of Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton is a disgusting reality for our country.
Vail--why does Hillary get a pass on that answer? --Because it's true.
Obama was not given the opportunity to respond.  Maybe it was necessary because the rebuttal is inherent; the dynasties must end!
Obama '08
DAVID ANDERS--TOO BAD IF LAURA BUSH HAD TO CLEAN UP AFTER MONICA L.  THATS ALL HER AND GEORGE DID FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS..
We love you Hillary!! Even though your husband is a racist and cheat, it doesn't matter!! And we don't care how much money you get from foreign countries, you are the one for us!! We don't care if you raise our taxes to the sky, because our moms and dads pay taxes, and we dont!!!

Hillary! Hillary!! Hillary!!!
I dont't think you want the quotable response that is bound to end up on recaps to include  the line Bush Clinton Bush Clinton.  A safer segue would have been something like talking about how revolutionary it would be to have a woman  president that is bound to be a new and dynamic adminstration.
g eglesias-maybe Hillary will give you a cleaning job, thats all the democrats have done for hispanics, oh i forgot the welfare, the foodstamp, the free housing to illegals, and now the rebates
NOTICE  LOOK AT THE RE RUN  ===HILLARY READ THAT ANSWER FROM HER NOTES===ANOTHER PLANTED QUESTION===CNN=CLINTON NEWS NETWORK   I SWEAR SHE READ IT FROM HER NOTES, I WATCHED IT SEVERAL TIMES   HILLARY IS SCARCY=SHE WILL DO ANYTHING TO WIN
