possibly Obama believes he stacks up well against McCain due to his "change" message.  further, he provides a strong generational contrast to McCain, not only in age but in time in Washington.

You leave out a critical final part of the Las Vegas debate:  Blitzer said, "It's yes/no" and Obama did say, "yes."  So don't mislead by suggesting he never answered it.

Absolutely. The more you talk about John McCain, the more Obama looks like the better choice.

Clinton's "experience" sublimes when placed side by side with McCain. And so does Obama. But that's exactly why Democrats need SOMETHING ELSE to beat McCain on, and Obama has the upper hand.

Great debate!

I don't know about you, but I thought this was the best debate involving either party. Civil, respectful, informational, it revealed a lot about both. They both came across as intelligent, patriotic, willing to listen to each other, not confrontational. It was fun to watch and I learned much about both of them. I agree with the suggestion that this might wind up being a dream ticket, not a nightmare like the Republican party is offering.

The tide is turning. Polls are evening up and I am in southern california and there is a large amount of Romney supporters out here, in fact I would expect san diego area to go completely to Romney...Illegals is a big issue here. People are very anti McCain. Dont be so sure he is the nominee...not yet  McCain't Ain't!

I just got back from the Mitt Romney rally. It was very energetic!
Seeing him surrounded by his grandchildren just answered my question as to why he is in this race, it is  for them and for all children. His love for those kids in natural and it is genuine!

Obama, answered the question to the point,short and sweet.  The Clinton, on stage, talked and talked at times we would forget the question. Bill will play a big part in the White House. Noone has ever been able to stop him. He will do what he has to do to get her elected and then we will see the old Bill again. My vote is for OBAMA Feb. 5

Could this be why? I personally think McCain is being as honest about this as he was about his version of Romney's stance on "timetables...the buzzword"! SHUT UP McCain...you are just another Dem and are showing your age by continually repeating yourself as though you are saying something we haven't heard "my friend". I am so tired of hearing you say the same things over and over again. The only reason your answer to the question about whether you would support YOUR OWN BILL for amnesty is "The people want the borders secured first AND...the bill is dead, it will not come back for vote" is because you still intend to grant amnesty to those 12-20ml illegals already here after the borders are secured.  Classic McCain approach to not giving a COMPLETE answer. Last time I checked the definition for "illegal" it read "unlawful" which means THEY ARE ALL CRIMINALS...not just the ones who have committed additional crimes! Dear God, why is that so hard to understand.

I really want to vote for a Republican, but if McCain is the one there is no way that I can vote for him over either one of these two.  Both Clinton and Obama were exceptional.  McCain on the other hand- all he can say is "Reagan footsoldier" and "radical islamic extremist".  Nothing else. He doesn't say anything about important matters.  All he can talk about is the surge and surrendering.  He is a warmonger plain and simple.  There is nothing else to him. It's pretty sad.  He looks like there is something wrong with him. Either Obama or Hillary will wipe the floor with McCain.

The race isn't over!  McCain is done.....
McCain will be easy to beat...why else would he be mentioned so much????
