Will the suspension of Mitt Romney's Campaign hurt John McCain?

http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=1714

.
Bigotry and Back Door deals have combined to take Mr. Romney out of the race.

Americans are so stupid that they do not deserve to have a leader like Mitt Romney.

When the economy falls at the hands of Can't Run my Own Campaign McCain or tax and spend Clinton, just remember that the bigotry of the south and McCain's partnership with Huckabee brought our only hope down.

Expect to see Huckabee drop out and take on McCain's VP role soon.
Bye Mitt

Liked the hair though
who cares ? the republican party is "over". thanks g.w.
bye bye Bruce Wayne wannabe........
Rush Limbaugh isn't going to like this one bit. Nope, not one bit. Laura Inghram, Sean Hannity, Mary Matalin, Glenn Beck and on and on.
McCain will lose to the DEMs in the biggest landslide in history.  As a conservative Republican I say let that happen and let this country see how the DEMs are going to destroy it. I would not vote for McCain if Jesus Christ endorsed him and ran as his VP.
He can't win, anyway. He builds for next time. He cuts Huck off by putting McCain over the top.
I feel sorry for him, his family and all his supporters.  John McCain LIED about fmr Governor Romney's take on timetables.  I'm not a fan of Mitt Romney but what John McCain did to him was WRONG.  John McCain is just like Hillary Clinton, they will both do ANYTHING to get elected to the office of the Presidency.  It's sad, it really is.  Also, Huckabee has not be acting like a Christian at all.  He should be ashamed of himself and the way he has treated Mitt Romney.

WHY DOES SENATOR OBAMA REFUSE TO DEBATE, SENATOR CLINTON ????????????????????????????????????????
I guess that is the best move.  Now mccain will have to convince our party he is the man.  I wish him well, he has a long fight ahead of him.

Meanwhile Mitt can start working on 2012.  he should do better next time.  I guess America is not quite ready for a strong leader just yet.
See ya!

Did he say withdraw or suspend his campaign, does anybody know?  Suspending and withdrawing are two different things.  Does suspending a campaign mean holding it for the next election cycle (Sen. Edwards has also suspended his campaign to my knowledge)?

It would be in Gov. Romney's best interest to actually do something productive during his hiatus of campaigning (perhaps turn something else around).  Sen. Edwards and his hedgefund work found that out.  In order to re-run for President, the candidate must show something recent and important that they have affected.
He should have left the race after NH.  He cost Huckabee the nomination.
Wow! The writing was on the wall, but I was hoping that Romney would continue. He has great ideas, a way of giving a hope to a tough situation, and was open in what he wished to do as President. He was a breath of fresh air amid the stagnancy of Washington. I look forward to seeing if he will run again in 2012.
Its a pretty fiery speech for a concession speech. Sounds more like a stump speech. I guess he's hoping that McCain loses and he gets another shot in 2012.
MSNBC's shameless water carrying support of Obama is backfiring in the ratings.  They were once on the move to become the number one cable news network. A few months agao, I loved the network, but now they have become Fox.   The ratings for Super Tuesday were as follows, 1)CNN 2)Fox 3)MSNBC.  Now because of their bias reporting for Obama, their ratings are tanking.  I think the over exposure of Obama in the media will have a backlash in the election.  I hope it's only in the Primary and not during the General if he get's the election. Me and other Hillary supporters warned MSNBC they would lose ratings if they didn't start covering the election fairly and it seems we were right.  I hope the backlash continues and PBS beats them in the next ratings.  It doesn't matter who you support in the election, we all want unbiased reporting. By the way, Hillary raises 4 million the day after the polls closed and Obama raised 3 million the day after the polls closed, but you didn't hear about that until today, where as they reported Obama's money all day yesterday.  Keep it up MSNBC, I'm going to donate again to Hillary right now, just because MSNBC sucks.
What the hell is wrong with all of these quitters!  Can Ron Paul have your delegates?!
Crazy.....I am an AA Democrat who is listening to Romney speech.... And I must say I am some what impress....
Well America....

We are down to the Final Four.....

On my side....

A war hero that wants to make Mexico the 51st state
Who has fought the Bush Tax cuts....
Who tries to show he is the new Ronald Reagan....

A baptist preacher from Arkansas....
Who lets a rapist out to rape again.....
Who is a liberal when it comes to taxes.....

On the Democratic side....

An African American who talks of hope....
Who tells people it will be alright.......
Who speaks so well, he draws thousands.....

A Man and A woman....
Who are looking for another bite of the Apple.....
She is mean spirited and hides behind a veil......
He is an abuser of women.....

and then there is Ron Paul....
nuff said.......

Some serious thinking some of us have to do......
Hillary lovers, watch Mitt closely. This is what Hillary will be doing in about a month.
If he could only spoke like this during his campaign...
Too bad.  But I understand.  Looks like I will be voting for Obama or Clinton.
romney withdrawing is good news for 98% of the american public, the wealthiest 2% will have to vote for some other wealthy elitist that doesn't care about working americans, if hillary is nominated they can vote for her, bush-lite will keep the gravy train running for the rich
Romney is smart.  If he withdraws and paves the way for McCain and McCain loses in November, which he will (especially if he pairs up with a Huckabee VP), Romney will be in a great position to run again in 2012.  After all, McCain will be too old in 2012 (hell, he's too old now), and Huckabee has already shown he has only regional and narrow religious support.
I told you from the beginning. The republican party will NEVER accept a Mormom candidate.
They suspend the campaign to get their ducks in a row and be able to pay the staff. Its basically a technicality.....
Gee, the America Dream of buying our way to the White House may actually be over...Everything I learned in Civics class down the drain...
Lest see if Ann Coulter will actually campaign and vote for Hillary. Will Rush and Sean support McCain or Huckabee?  Have the great windbags of the conservative talk shows puffed out? It is a wonderful day when the gasbags and self proclaimed experts could not convince people to support their candidate. So, we are not a brain washed nation ready to walk to the beat of one drummer. We have not surrendered out free will and freethinking to the control of a few self-righteous paper tigers.
Dean the Dream: Thanks. I'll mark my calendar for 3/7 to see if you were right.
I agree, people ignore the elephant in the room of religion.  I was hoping that Mitt Romney's intelligence and speaking ability would outshine the fact that he is mormon, and convince those in the south to vote for him, but religious bigotry rears its ugly head.  Romney won't have a chance in 2012 unless he changes his religion.
Americans for a President who doesn't suck- It's called bowing out gracefully for the sake of the party.  Something Huck should have already done, since he was seriously behind Romney.  From what I've read on here, when Paul doesn't get the nomination, a lot of his supporters will go back to being complacent... which seems contrary to what Paul would tell them to do (uphold the constitution, be a patriot, exercise your civil rights, etc.).

i.m.r.- he suspended his campaign.  Hope he runs again. For now, I'm voting for a democrat.
To FStLouis:
Have you ever considered how many Babtist, Lutheran, Methodist, etc. etc. Republican candidates that MORMONS have voted for over the years?  Shame on you for your biggotry!  Shame on the Republican party if they have been USING the Mormons to win elections if  they, as you say, have such disdain for them.

This is America.  Freedom of Religion, remember that?  Who cares what church someone goes to?  We need a strong conservative in the white house.  Not a pandering liberal like McCain.
the graybeards must have spoken to Mitt.I do not believe for a minute that he changed his mind overnight to drop out.He is getting something for doing this---wait till the other shoe drops. You people believe all is truth when it is not.Romney---vp?
Who really gives a damn what the 'talkers' think? I know I don't. They can choke on their egos for all I care. Good to see them self-destruct.
Maybe, just maybe, the republican party is wising up and going a bit more to the center, maybe, just maybe, the religous nutbags who took over the party are losing their grasp on the GOP, maybe, just maybe, the republican party is heading towards a period of "correction" and dropping the whole slash and burn culture war....hmmm, maybe, but I doubt it. The repukes are simply self-imploding.  Long Live the Democratic Party!!!!!
Bob of NC- Have you lived under a rock for the last 7 years or you conviently have selective memory. Wanting the democrats to win so they can destroy the country. Let me see: balanced budget/surplus, 22 million new jobs, $1.00 gall of gas, no wars before the shrub weaseled his way into the white house thru Dad's lawyer (BAKER) and 5-4 right wing Supreme Court. Bob! thats a tough one. Keep drinking that kool-aid.
McCain will lose to the DEMs in the biggest landslide in history.  As a conservative Republican I say let that happen and let this country see how the DEMs are going to destroy it. Bob in NC.

The Dem destroy it??  What has your party done for the last 8 years?
There's no such think as a strong conservative, just stupid narrow minded conservatives, or as I like call them, conserv-a-nut-bags!
Kira (Utah),

These candidates ask a lot of the voters to look at their issues, donate to their campaigns, watch debate after debate and the voters get personally invested in them, and my point is, if they drop out before citizens get to vote for them, I think that sucks.  Only half of the country has voted.  Granted Romney was not going to be able to pull a nomination out, but there are people that invested a lot of time and money intending to vote for him that now can't.  And I guess that's what I love about Ron Paul.  He will stay in and let everyone in the country that wants to vote for him do so, and he can because it is of no personal cost to him to do it.  We gave him that money and he sees it as his responsibility to us.

Secondly, I'm not sure that your arguement about "bowing out gracefully for the sake of the party" makes any sense since you say are now voting for a democrat.

And lastly, I wholeheartedly agree with you that Dr. Paul would not want his supporters to be complacent.  He would want them to excercise their civil rights and vote and I very much intend to do so.  I will be voting to bring my little brother home from the war.
It's the right call.
