Sources: Romney didn't tell McCain

Posted: Thursday, February 07, 2008 1:29 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell and NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner Treworgy
Senior McCain aides say Romney did not call him before his speech and there was no contact -- at least yet.

A top McCain advisor hadn't heard anything about Romney's decision to suspend campaign. "Last time I check Gov. Huckabee is still in this race," he said, so plans to campaign will not change.

Hopefully McCain has cable, lol.
Why should Romney call McCain? McCain screwed Romney over good in West Virgina. Classless act on McCain's part. Remember, what goes around comes around John. Now you and Huck have each other to snuggle with.
Little Mitty Two Shoes
Obama CAN BEAT McCain

Billary CAN'T BEAT McCain

Character matters, Integrity matters, Honesty matters

OBAMA '08
WHY HAS OBAMA REFUSED TO DEBATE CLINTON ?
Now we will see if Huckabee was merely riding shotgun for John McCain.  Will he withdraw?
another flip flop---im in -im out
At least Romney GAVE HIS MONEY to this own campaign

Hillary LOANS HER CAMPAIGN MONEY

She figures she'll find some suckers to donate to her

She what happens after Norman Hsu goes to jail
No more Peter Paul or Johnny Treu to give her illegal campaign contributions.....

And Marc Rich already has his pardon ......

Ditzy, disorganized Hillary blew through her campaign funds....
If she can't manage her campaign finances, how can she manage America's finances ?

THAT'S why she wants to debate..... FREE TV TIME

NO THANKS, Obama has a money edge, EXPLOIT IT !!

NO DEBATES, NO WAY !!

Start talking about pocket book issues, Obama !

Your Social Security plan is GREAT, Talk about it
Health care, middle class tax cuts, Education

That'll bring in women, Latinos and blue collar workers

Re-focus on pocket book issues !!

Obama/Edwards '08
Honesty, Integrity, REFORM
I have written 6 comments regarding MSNBC's bias against Hillary and how the it's backfiring on them in the ratings.  Super Tuesday ratings, 1)CNN 2)Fox 3)MSNBC

They refuse to post my comments.  Lets see if they post this one.  Keep bashing Hillary, you may get Obama the nomination, but you will lose the ratings game.  People want unbiased coverage.  Not, I love Obama and Hillary sucks coverage.  Stop making the news and report the news.

Next ratings will be 1)CNN 2)Fox  3) PBS 4) MSNBC
clintons unsavory connections will come into play now, her and bill's experience in arm twisting and corrupt political shenanigans is unmatched, they will do what ever it takes regardless of legality or what's right to further their dynasty, their lust for wealth and power always trumps fair play, couple this with the fact that the republicans are salivating for a hillary nomination, because they know they can beat her in the general, and you have a situation that is sure to become very ugly and dishonest, with the american citizens wishes tossed to the curb
Get some people to get our comments posted....geeez, CNN gets 600-800 or more posts. If I don't make a post before noon, well it just never gets on. Pretty hard to have a discussion on any issue, if you don't post us. It's like you all go to lunch, and never come back.
I guess I need to look into the democrats nominees now, since Romney is gone.  Our choices are becoming very, very lean.  Never in my life has the vote been this hard.
Actually, sources say he did tell McCain, but McCain couldn't remember it 3 second later....he's just too old to be president...to old and bitter...a war monger who'll have us back in Vietnam for payback for his POW years...and then onto Iran...remember, bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran...I say, no, no, no...no Juan McAmnesty, no Bomb McRan, no no no no no no!!!!
[[clintons unsavory connections will come into play now, her and bill's experience in arm twisting ]]

So will the Keating 5 and the fact that McBomb wasn't quite the man of steel when he was a POW in North Vietnam that the news media makes him out to be.
McCain is a man who, like Bush, hates to admit he was dead wrong supporting this illegal war.  No matter how you cut it, you just can't turn this wrong into a right - you're just killing our kids by sending them into this war that can't be won (by the way, did anyone figure out what exactly how we will know when we "won"??  How much money and lives are we going to lose before they spell that out??).
HERE WE GO AGAIN: dumbass with 'character'(McCain-in case you DON'T KNOW WHO)

NOTE THAT ROMNEY WON MICHIGAN AND MASSACHUSSETTS.
-isn't that worth 4 years?
NY, NY

MSNBC-Fair and Balanced
OBVIOUSLY it's McCAINS VP given these 3.
Too funny...mittflip should have stayed the moderate he was before he started pandering to the agents of intolerance...they dissed him for hucksterism and mcwar stole the voters mittflip would have had had he stayed a moderate...too funny
Romney gave a great speech. If you haven't heard it i would encourage you to listen - truely insightful and emotional. Probably on youtube but also here:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/02/07/video-romneys-emotional-goodbye/
McCain's Vietnam imprisonment should be off limits now.  Move on to what McCain really is and isn't NOW and what his recent record has been in Congress.  DEBATES???  No more free time for Hillary!!   Obama needs to talk about his policies NOW and get his message across via more main stream media than just the Internet.  And also get to know the Hispanic community.  The only reason they vote for her is name recognition.  Hispanics (as a group, forgive me) might be a tad more conservative...but Obama can win them over.  Yes he CAN!!!!

Go OBAMA '08
Not a Romney supporter here, but I was appalled by John McCain's outright lies about Romney's position on timetables for withdrawal from Iraq.  McCain is an doddering, nasty, argumentative old fool, and if he's the best the Republicants can nominate, then may they go down to a landslide defeat in November.  It's what they deserve.
That must be romneys last flip flop.
I like to think McCain and Romney worked this out last night, and Romney will become the VP on the ticket.  That would bring the party together, and a platform with sufficient conservative planks to appeal to the majority of the GOP...
I completely agree with NY, NY, MSNBC is extremely pro Obama, con Hillary! I used to get my political fix from MSNBC exclusivly, but your blatent bias against Hillary has become so annoying I am forced to change the channel!
Hillary's 35 years of 'experience' includes:
Monica
Gennifer Flowers
Juanita Broaddrick
Whitewater
Cattle futures
Rose Law firm
TravelGate
HairCutGate
the NAFTA sell out
the WTO sell out
the Millenium Communications bill
Vincent Foster
Buddist Fund raising
Norman Hsu
Johnny Treu
Peter Paul
Marc Rich
Voting for the Iraq War
Voting for Kyl/Lieberman
Voting AGAAINST the cluster bomb ban
yada, yada, tada....

That's a LOT of 'EXPERIENCE' Billary
No, word is Romney only suspended his campaign and plans to take it back up again in a few days due to popular demand by radio talk show hosts. He still has a few flops left.
Don't any of you get it?  All the network and cable "news" services are a BUSINE$$.  the more viewers the more $.  follow the $!  Watch them ALL report the good, the bad, and the ugly "news" and and the non-news "poll results" to CREATE the vision of a race...- for now inter-party but soon party vs. party to create a race that is "too close to call".  Haven't you heard this before?  It is a fixed race; we are all being "spun" around and around.
First decide what is best for your country.  Then pick your man or woman based on the best information you can find. then to hell with polls, comentary and the ^%$#ing talking heads.  Go vote.

The "news business" machine will spin you and the country around for rating point$ and they give a damn about what is best for the USA.
I think all these vile posts are to take attention from Obamas stand. He lied about clintons and race.If he hadnt wouldnt have won S Carolina and thats his whole base. Its always since S Carolina. What will the role of Blacks be after his change?Feracan for vp
Houston: '...So will the Keating 5 and the fact that McBomb wasn't quite the man of steel when he was a POW in North Vietnam that the news media makes him out to be...'

To denigrate McCain's war experience is comtemptible
It's BENEATH CONTMEPT, Houston
Slick Wille DODGED THE DRAFT
(and he NEVER inhaled)
(and her NEVER HAD SEX with 'that woman')

McCain will EASILY BEAT BILLARY
He's more honest, he has more integrity, he's a better person

McCain will LOSE TO OBAMA !

Deal with that ....

Obama just refuses to go on Fox News to debate Hillary, there's no fear of her... just a memory of the last few years of Fox News' skewed reporting...

Why has Hillary forgotten its a Republican only channel?
I'm very up set with all of the candidates spending all this money to put into the rich pockets.  Just think about all the people they could feed, clothes, housing, medical care, the ederly, education for all the  american  children. Lets stop supporting the world and take care of our own people here in America first.
Why would Romney need or want to tell McCain about leaving the race?  The need to do that sounds silly.  McCain and staff should find out the same way that everyone else does -- when there is a press conference.

Please keep all the postings relevent to the subject.  There is no mention of Clinton or Obama in the subject.  If you don't have anything to say that relates to Romney or McCain, leave it out!  It just detracts from reading all the actually meaningful comments
Obama said no to weekly debates, not more debates. She had plenty of time during the previous debates to get her message across. She should of been doing that, instead of attacking Obama. This is what she gets for blowing 100 million dollars a little more than mid way through the primaries. This alone is reason enough not to vote her into the White House. She cannot even manage her campaign properly, how can she manage our country. If she does this as President, guess who will pay the price. She won't be dipping into her wallet, she will be dipping into ours. I wonder what rabbit she will attempt to pull out of her hat this week or next. She has already pulled the Bill, attacking, tears, kinder/softer hat tricks. It will be interesting to see her new strategy. I suspect she will twist this whole weekly debate rebuff into something negative towards Obama, claiming he is afraid to face her on the issues. If she had any money left, she would be doing exactly what he is doing, campaigning in each state, not a select few.
I was and still am a Romney supporter. I hope he's back in 4 years for another run. I will vote in the elections, but for the Democrats. I'd rather die than cast my vote for McCain. I'll vote Democrat just to keep him out. Then, after we live through the next 4 years of hell, maybe we'll have the common sense to elect the right person. I don't see him as a flip-flopper, but rather someone intelligent and humble enough to change with the information available. Change is progress. Let's see what we get with McCain. Stubborn, vendictive, ancient, member of the good-ol-boys club. Just more manipulation and poor judgement because he's too proud to do the right thing.
Sierra, SF ... do you work for Karl Rove?
[[clintons unsavory connections will come into play now, her and bill's experience in arm twisting ]]

Houston (Sent Thursday, February 07, 2008 2:25 PM)

Hey Houston, WE HAVE A PROBLEM..... and it is attacks such as yours, tell me HERO were you in the Hanoi Hilton with Sen.McCain? Did you you have both your legs and a shoulder broken while ejecting over North Vietnam? You may not like the man, thats one thing, but his duty in Vietnam is above and beyond the call of duty, thats why he got the Medal Of Honor.
I don't get all the hype with Obama. What has he done? I live in Illinois and no one ever talks about what he has done...because he hasn't done anything.

If its Obama vs McCain, McCain will not be afraid to call out Obama for not having done anything.

Hillary can't say that because when she does she is made out to be the bad guy in the Democratic party.

No Democrate is allowed to say anything bad about "never done nothing" Obama.
Kemo I am in agreement with you 100%.  The media spin thinks they can influence the vote with their ridiculis talking heads like Chris Matthews.  Chris diffinently has a problem with women.  Must have poor self esteem.  And Joe never mentions the Staff woman that was found dead in his office in Flordia, while he held office in Rep congress.  Never mentions his divorce that happen at the same time..  Joe also has a problem with women.  Obama probably will win the nomination, but these two talking nonsense heads project their distain for women daily.  MSNBC suffers as this campaign goes on, more than woman.

A lot of Clinton folks are wondering why Obama is not agreeing to debate Hillary.  Here are a few possible reasons:

She's agreed to a debate on Fox News. Yes, let's let Karl Rove ask the questions. If Edwards was still in, he'd excoriate her over that.

There have been 18 debates already. 18. May I say it again? Eight-friggin-teen!!

He's ahead. She's behind. If she had tons more money and way more momentum, would she agree to his requests for more debates? Get real.

So, ah ... would you like some cheese with that?
Yes i have to agree with most the Huk doesnt have a chance, must be waiting for assurance some where from McCains as to what position he has with him...McCain owes him helped knock out Mitt....Huk hes not a straight shooter, and he has enough foot soliders so if i was you i wouldnt wait for the phone call..I wasnt a mitt supporter but he knew more about the economy than McCain.....Well if you think McCain is going to take a stance on immigration he cant even vote on the Stimulus package.. No Bal?.  So if he cant do that what do you think he will do on imigration....To bad you will be history in November so keep your Senate sit.....with three legs..
That's interesting, an article I just read said that Romney called McCain after his speech, not that he had an obligation to do so.
McCain must not have told his advisors. I'm sure they'll find out sooner or later.
Holy Huckabee. Holy shit!
Amy Dean I read a report that Fox News gives Hillary more balanced news than Chris Matthews. I have quit watching MSNBC except for Keith Olberman.
the ants come marching one buy one the ants come ect ect ect ect the ron paul bunch
Rommney was the best for the job. The one that could bring our economy back, and the ONLY chance for Change, but ole Huck the preacher took care of that with his snide remark on Rommneys Faith. Huck must believe his Baptist faith of "Once Saved, Always Saved" forgetting one can always "fall from Grace", he ought to go back to seminary and forget about being a VP. Like I said we need Change not the same ole Same ole.
