Sources: Romney didn't tell McCain

Posted: Thursday, February 07, 2008 1:29 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell and NBC/NJ's Adam Aigner Treworgy
Senior McCain aides say Romney did not call him before his speech and there was no contact -- at least yet.

A top McCain advisor hadn't heard anything about Romney's decision to suspend campaign. "Last time I check Gov. Huckabee is still in this race," he said, so plans to campaign will not change.

Well now we have hillary who hand selected janet reno and lets not forget the other carpetbagger obama yes they are real carpetbaggers neither one of them could get elected in there home state had to go to NY and IL to get a pollitical position from the voters at least McCain is loyal to his home state and american beliefs not just wanting a glamerous position as the carpetbaggers are campaing for so untill the dems can get a worthy canadate i guess it will be McCAIN AND ROMNEY NEXT PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT
Romney in 2012!  Only problem is Jeb Bush will probably run and win the nomination.  My belief that the GOP is looking to lose so Jeb will run in 2012.  From all accounts, a far better executive then GWB.
Mitt Romney just solidified his position as the National Front Runner and the Man to beat in the GOP for 2012....
Romney continues to show he has no class.
Sierra, SF: What are you smoking? It is just plain wrong to say Hillary's experience is Genifer, Monica, etc. The Iraq vote, I'll give you, but mentioning the others is just plain mean.
The Clintons are liars, nuf said....
McCain can't win...Plain and Simple. The only one that can is RON PAUL
Obama is like Britney Spears.  Pretty on the outside but clueless on the inside.  I am shocked how many people are like lemmings falling over the cliff.
It is sad .. I worry for this country when people just jump on the band wagon with no specifics and experience to speak of
McCain is Bush3, if we Americans are truly suicidal, then we vote McCain. If we want some kind of future, than let us vote Dems this time.
Mitt is in line to become head of the Mormon Church.  Having only suspended his campaign he can now set his sights on the riches of the church.  Donations can still flow his way, and should McCain become incapacitated, Mitt can ride to the rescue.
I don't fully understand when the media says that someone was running away with the lead when they only had 90 vs 40 and vs 20 when they need over 1900 to win. Similarly, I don't get it when they say this when it gets to 500 vs 250 vs 140. So are so many more people and with the recent speach, I could only imagine the his numbers would have gone through the roof as he drive to be president. I don't understand this system, the media twists, nor the candidates' responses to them. Hope somebody can
