I find it amazing that you will cover all these Obama rallies, but did not mention Clinton's Virtual Town Hall that reached 250,000 people in more that 15 states. The bias of the news media is appalling.

New Mexico Ballots

The New Mexico Democratic Party caucus may be tainted by three ballot boxes that spent the night in the home of the Rio Arriba County party chair or the homes of other local election officials instead of being reported to the state party.


Those ballots still haven’t been counted, but they have been retrieved by the state party.


Several sources told me the ballot boxes spent the night at the home of Rio Arriba County Democratic Party Chair Theresa Martinez, whose state-lawmaker husband, Sen. Richard Martinez, endorsed Hillary Clinton. But Richard Martinez told Santa Fe New Mexican reporter Kate Nash that the boxes actually spent the night in the homes of three polling-place managers. He gave Nash no explanation for why the results from those ballots weren’t reported to the state party last night and why they were instead kept overnight in officials’ homes.


“The site managers locked them and they kept them and they took them to my wife this morning,” Nash quoted Richard Martinez as saying.



State party officials and Theresa Martinez have not returned my calls seeking comment.


The three ballot boxes from Rio Arriba County and a fourth from Sandoval County account for the 2 percent of precincts that haven’t yet reported results from Tuesday’s caucus. With about 200 votes separating Clinton and Barack Obama, that’s huge. We’re talking about the ballots from half the polling places in Rio Arriba County.


I want to make sure this point is emphasized: Roughly half the votes from Rio Arriba County spent the night in the privacy of the home or homes of one or more election officials in boxes those officials may have had the ability to open. All the county party chair had to do last night to report the results was make a phone call. That never happened.


The ballot boxes were retrieved from Theresa Martinez by the state party this morning.


I understand there was a big snowstorm up there, and I realize people were up late and might have slept in this morning. It’s possible – perhaps even likely – that there is nothing fishy going on here.


But there are valid concerns. Rio Arriba County has a history of election scandal.


The Obama and Clinton campaigns should have lawyers there trying to figure out what’s happening and ready to act if necessary. My understanding is that Obama attorneys are already on their way. The state party needs to quickly resolve this and tell the public how it’s going to allay fears that the election process is tainted beyond repair.


If the ballots are disqualified, voters are disenfranchised. If they’re counted, the process may be tainted. This is an incredibly close race. You have to wonder if, at the end of it all, the losing candidate will petition the DNC to not seat some or all of New Mexico’s delegates, arguing that the process here was fatally tainted. I wrote earlier today about a number of other problems with Tuesday’s caucus. This only adds to the list.


A number of Democrats have told me they’re furious with the state party over these issues. I’m trying to get to the bottom of it. Check back later today for updates.

Folks, let's think about this.  Hillary cannot beat McCain.  We must wake up before it's too late.  I think we all want to beat the Republicans this fall.  We have tried TWICE in this decade and have failed!  We must be realistic about our votes.  

Support Barack Obama -- he is our last chance to beat the Republicans this fall.  Just picture the stark contrasts he presents while he's standing next to McCain during a debate:  Young v. Old; Washington insider v. newcomer; the past v. the future; the 21st century v. 18th century; tied to Bush's failed policies v. objected to Bush's policies from the beginning.  The contrasts are COMPELLING, you simply cannot deny that!

Not to mention, the RNC machine has not quite figured out how to beat Barack, whereas, they have the playbook on the Clintons. And they'll have even more once Bill gets "vetted" for the years since his presidency -- all of their family foundation dealings, the books written about them, the goings-on at his Harlem office, etc. (And do not kid yourself, the moment Hillary started using Bill as her advocate in the campaign, she injected him and all his baggage into this campaign.  It will not go overlooked.)

Obama said in one debate that his association with Rezko is for 5 hrs. How many in the MSNBC news followed up with him to verify this?

Fox has done the analysis and we all know that Obama has spent more time with Rezko. So during Fox debate, they will ask Obama to answer it again and Obama will be stuck (better now than in front of McCain during GE).

This is just one example of Obama's shady politics. Another one is the energy bill related which later on helped Exelon (the company which paid millions to Obama;s advisor David Axelrod). Talk about lobbyist. He calls himself "consultant". Different names, same shady deals.

Obama is doing for progressives what Reagan did for conservatives. He's establishing a broad base of support that cuts across party, gender, racial, and regional lines.

He knows that this is, first, how you defeat your opponent and, secondly and more importantly, how you get legislation passed.

It's one things to want immigration, health care, war, veterans, reforms and quite another to make it happen.

Whether or not she deserves it, Clinton is a divisive figure who will end up telling us, "She's trying but congress is stopping me."

Roles will reverse: Obama's talk will turn into action while Clinton's divisive persona will stymie her success.

Don't think race and gender when you vote. If you want immigration reform, vote for the candidate who's going to get it done for you. That's Obama. Ditto, health care reform, etc.

Also, no candidate has done more for building the Democratic party base this year than Barack Obama.

The Obama movement has inspired millions of new people to become involved in the political process (with their votes and their money)!

Here in Minnesota we had record turnouts in our Feb. 5th caucus. My ward and precinct easily had 6 times the previous turnout. We ran out of sign-in sheets and ballots and had to run to a copy shop to get more printed! It was wall-to-wall people - and Obama got over 70% of the vote in our area (67% statewide in Minnesota). The old-timers all said they'd never seen anything like it!

And I think it's easy to say that only an Obama nomination would likely be able to bring along those new voters!

I'm afraid that a Clinton nomination would suppress the Democratic voter turnout in November because she would likely lose most of Obama's young supporters and others who want real change and a clean departure from the past.

Let's keep this movement growing and surging right on into the White House by choosing Barack Obama as the

I attended Obama's rally at the Hartford Civic Center/XL Center on Monday..... it was one of the most exciting, inspiring things I have ever witnessed!

Anyone who says that he has no substance is not listening....

At Monday's rally, there were old, young, black white, asian, latino, affluent, working class, poor... every demographic was represented.

Hillary is competent, to say the least, but she does not inspire, therefore she cannot lead...

Yeah, I can find much more articles critical of Obama or discussing negative matters on MSNBC and Newsweek than Hillary Clinton articles (I find most of them on the NYT website than anywhere else). Obama would be a great VP, and it would give him time to get more experience.  He's a great speaker, but we haven't really seen what he can do.

And as far as Iraq,

He wasn't ALLOWED to vote!  He wasn't an elected congressman.  So to say he didn't vote for it is as worthless as me saying I wouldn't.  He didn't have the intelligence that congress was given.  Faulty or not, sen & reps made a decision thinking what they got was legit, and I don't blame any of them for that.
I hope Obama drops this arguement.  I was considering him, but won't because of this attempt to divide the party over the fears of another 9/11 and another war.

"Will, in Decatur" is the person who "doesn't get it." Hillary's vitual town-hall brought people together from actual, non-virtual locations all across the USA. They showed up at various sites, in the flesh, for rallies. Those rallies were linked to rallies in various locations, and hundreds of thousands of others tuned in or logged on.

Of course, like other know-nothing members of the hate-wave known as Obamarama, Will doesn't know this and doesn't care to learn the facts before trying to smear and jeer.

Meanwhile, the media keep trying to write the voters out of the story. But voters keep showing up to the polls and voting for Hillary, who in the venerable words of Monty Python is not quite dead yet. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!  The only reason the polls are more in favor of Obama at the moment is because his negatives aren't out there and widely known.  The pro-obama media isn't jumping on him for his support of driver's licenses for illegals (he admitted his support in the last debate) but it was hardly mentioned by the media--the Republicans and Independents will hear about it in the general and run very fast away from him.  Also, the media doesn't put his past stance on gun control out there...He was against the sale and manufacturing of guns--was for banning guns.  They will jump on this as well with the same results.  They will tear him apart with his lack of experience, his horrible voting record in the senate etc.
People have hamstrung Clinton by jumping on her if she says anything negative (but it seems okay for him, constantly).  Now we're not going to hear about most of the negatives until it's too late.  And what will that get us?  another idiot in the white house who wants nothing but war.

THE MEDIA NEEDS TO START TREATING THIS RACE FAIRLY BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

Tiis New Mexico stuff in troubling. When I saw Bill Richardson and Clinton Sitting together before the superbowl he looked very very uncomfortable.

I commented to my spouse that he looked like he had been asked to do something he was not comfortable with - you know body language?

Expect results to be finalized at a crucial time for the Campaign as NM was listed as a Caucus but now there are ballots?

Again, I see claims of media bias against Hillary. As a Barack Obama supporter, even I can see it coming out at times. Still, let's not forget how Hillary's 'squad' spent months calling reporters who dared publish a negative article on her, back when she was 'inevitable'. There's been numerous articles on this. Many heeded the warning, after all, who'd set out to be personal enemy of the next President?

Now there's a chance of an Obama win, I don't blame the media for a gentle form of payback. Who would?

While there is no doubt the Republicans aren't going to roll over in a fight against Obama, their heart isn't in it.  They will be demoralized because they weren't able to take down the big evil Clintons themselves. And there will be a grudging respect in some conservative circles that Obama managed to do what they never could.

Bill Clinton recently stated that Hillary is for child education and is not part of the failed "No CHild Left Behind". He said many other things about Bush and how Hillary is above those things. However, if you'd like to talk about follow up, let's talk about how Hillary supported the war, she also supported the "No Child Left Behind" act, and that FREEZING interest rates for 5 years is impossible... Just because she says something doesn't make it true no realizable. Check your own facts on the Clintons, then take the bold step and utter your words.

With Obama, the so-called 'success' of the surge becomes irrelevant as had the nation followed his advice, and never started the Iraq war, they'd been no need for a surge to try and clean up the mess.   Overall the Iraq war has been a huge humanitarian, fiscal, and foreign policy disaster!   Even Republican's know that.   Obama can make that argument forcefully -- Hillary cannot because she waffled at the start of the war.  I hear the Republican's now -- she was for it before she was against it.  same with drivers licenses for undocumented immigrants.  

We must WIN in November and with Obama we can.  Inexperienced?  Too young?   He's older than JFK when he ran and has more foreign policy experience than Bill Clinton when elected.   Time in Washington does not equate to judgment or the ability to heal this nation.    Obama is a rare individual who has arrived right when we most need him.  Let's not go back to the 90's, lets not continue the Bush/Clinton years, lets get a fresh and exceptional gifted person into the White House -- Obama.

Senator Obama needs to focus on his issues instead of attacking the Clintons. He has to attack the Clintons to feel superior and important. He has raised the most money, has the most influential supporters, and won most of the states. He does not need to gloat.
He may have gotten it right the first time with the vote on Iraq, but the president was determined to go to war. Therefore his vote did not matter.
Most jobs require experience, versus on the job training.
The party could be united and stronger if they would stop squabbling over petty issues and try to unite. This would be and ideal ticket.They could also learn from each other. She has experience and he has youth and enthusiam.Together, they both could help to bring changes.

Well, I don't think there's bias as Clinton's visit to Seattle was hardly newsworthy. It's been reported that she barely had 5,000 people at her rally here compared to the Obama rally where there was over 21,000 people. I tried to get in but couldn't and many others that I spoke to couldn't. In addition to the 20-21,000 people that were able to get in, there were about 3,000 others outside. A Barista that I spoke to around 8 AM said that she started serving people heading to the rally at 5:30 AM.

Oh please, no one was complaining of biasness when Clinton was a clear front runner, all you Hillary suppoerters realize she cant stop the freight train that is Obama, so you start complaining of so called biasness.

I don't understand why any real democrat would want a Political Machine to beat a true Grassroots Movement!
