Metaphor alert!

From NBC's John Boxley
Not a great way to start Election Day... The Huckabee press van taking us to airport and then to Little Rock, AR has run out of gas. We are stuck on side road.

Anybody have a AAA card?

*** UPDATE *** From NBC's Ron Allen
You won't believe this, but the press van ran out of gas a second time!! Seems they only put a gallon or so in the empty tank, and that's right, fumes again! The van only had a couple of Huckabee staffers aboard, and some of the press luggage!!

While waiting for a second refill, the van, of course, had no heat. It's in the 20's. Fortunately I wasn't aboard. Through it all the governor and his wife were safely transported to the airport in a car with enough fuel. I would doubt the car service (don't know its name yet) used by the campaign will ever be hired again.

We're about to fly to Little Rock. We've been assured the plane's tanks are full The campaign continues...

Metaphor alert -
Please note that you WILL get to the airport...patience my friend, patience!
It's not "a AAA card", it's "an AAA card".
lol

Take a nap - I'll bet you need one! :)
Hang in there... Huckabee is praying for more gas as we speak!
You should have used donkeys and worry no more about gas.
LOL......I am so sorry!  LOL.....I have the utmost respect for Governor Huckabee.......but THIS IS FRIGGIN' HILARIOUS!  Thanks for the outpouring of giggles this morning! : )
Now let's not get down on Huckabee for this.  Remember he didn't major in Math (is 1/4 of a tank less than 3/4 of a tank?), he majored in Miracles.  I'm sure that gas will be delivered to you by a Sweet Chariot any moment now.  You must have faith my son!
haha... whoops!
And we should trust The Huckster with the economy of this nation when his crew can't even keep their tanks full? LOL!
Actually, Debbie, assuming they are expecting the acronym to be pronounced "Triple A" it's acceptable as is. Also, considering the shorthand used in the previous paragraph, it seems unlikely that they give a crap, which is why they are political writers, not grammarians. Give 'em a break. Or gas. Whichever.
I think it actually gains points with conservatives to strand the news media on the side of the road, so maybe that's what he's up to.

In all seriousness, though, the two candidates who have been the greatest disappointment in managing financial resources have been John McCain and Hillary Clinton.  Anyone who thinks these people are going to turn our economy around after the way they have squandered millions of dollars in wasteful campaign spending is a fool.
Too funny
Does anybody else feel like the world would be an infinitely better place if ALL media people got stranded somewhere or the other, and NEVER came back. At least we would not have to hear the asisnine comments and commentary that they come up with - blackberry or no blackberry.

Stay stranded a while longer John Boxley - we are enjoying our peace.
Isn't that taking 'Conservatism' to the extreme?
Actually, if you read "AAA" as "Triple A," which is how the organization says it, then "a AAA card" is grammatically correct.
In response to EJ in Florida, in my opinion all of the news media is so full of 'hot air', they should have made it to the airport...
wow  you guys are unlucky, wasnt there an emergency plane landing just last week. Time for him to hang it up so he could lose his press people....
One thing those assigned to cover Huckabee can be sure of -- NBC hates you.

Men and women DYING IN IRAQ and this NON STORY is this going to get posated or did I disagree too much with the censures at MSNBC,SHUSTER AND MATTHEWS UNBIASED FAIR AND BALANCED
Maybe he was hoping for a Hannukah-esque miracle?

The gas was only supposed to last for 10 miles, but it lasted for 90 miles! It's a miracle!

I'll have to work on making the Vanorah graphics.
This guy is truly one of the scariest...maybe God was putting a stop to him. Oh yea, then he would have stepped in with W as well. So much for that.
Metaphor Alert!

You guys are sick. O ye of little faith!
If he didn't want to change any water into gasoline, he could have at least left a little wine for the people who waited.
Shadow - please remember that when the "financial genius" returns. Not saying you were a Romney backer, but you make an excellent point.
who cares about the killing sands of Iraq?Msnbc just wants to have fun-----they are getting their bang for the buck ----Huck is on msnbc most everyday------Mika loves him so does willie
NO,  Huckabee isn't praying for more gas--he is praying for his nomination, and he only gets one miracle a year.
Actually, he got it right. It's "a AAA card" because most people refer to the company as "Triple A" not "A-A-A". So while he wrote, "AAA," he understood that most would read, "Triple A." And, of course, you wouldn't say "an Triple A card".
First you run out of campaign money and then you run out of gas.  The Huckster needs to raise some gas money from his grass roots supporters today.  Hilarious!!
Maybe the message is it's time to develop alternate energy sources. Not making light of the cold temperatures, but you press guys should have checked the gas gage before piling inside.
Republicans don't ride donkeys, but an elephant would make a grand entrance. Grand old entrance?

Go Huck!
To hear Huckabee tell it I thought God was on his side? What happened?

=====================================================

A reporter got stranded in freezing weather...He IS on Huckabee's side!
Well Huck said he was running a lo-cost campaign not that he planned it that way it just happened.
Well well well, I guessthe Huckster has run out of gas in this campaign, but who knows. I believe in miracles too, so not to worry his bus and campaign would be refueled, hey he got two wins over the weekend. Let's wait n see, patience.
I consider myself a very conservative, family oriented, morally conscious, value based person that wells up emotionally at the thought of the American flag.
I am a Mormon mother of five that daily strives to teach my children right from wrong. I have voted in every election since I was old  enough to do so. Never did it cross my mind  to vote or not to vote for a particular candidate because he was this faith or that. I am just one of millions that have been stoned throughout this election by so called "Christians".
In the country I love, how do I vote? For a man of God that publicly twists truths and bears false witness against what is most sacred to me? In my ears that thunders over anything else he and his supports claims to stand for.
Yesterday I prayed to overcome my hard feelings toward Huckabee, I felt drawn to his website to learn more about him. What I found linked there was more lies and insult directed at Mormons. To me this is the ultimate hypocrisy.
Our Savior tells us to love our neighbor, yet you spread hate and lies.
I was apprehensive to support Romney before I got to know him, because I believe a man who has roots in his faith, but does not live it, is by far more dangerous than a man with shallow or little root in Religion.
Huckabee has roots, deep roots.  My fear is that they are rotten to the core. A man can draw close and have the appearance of  God with his lips, but his heart be far from the Lord. A true man of God would have Charity toward all his fellow beings, and is humble to the fact that he may not have a perfect understanding of all things. Finding common ground and a desire to understand another's heart.
Where is a conscience that draws one to feel remorse for cruelly hurting another?
I believe in complete separation of Church and State, Romney did not blur this, Huckabee has used his Church as a pedestal and taken away the peace in which to live our chosen Religion freely.
As I feel at this moment, I could vote for anyone but him.
Sorry for the ramble, I jsut felt the need to express my hurt and frustration.
Does anybody know what happened to Joe Scarborough?  I haven't seen him on Morning Joe lately.
Why didn't they just whip out their cosmic credit card and say charge it to a higher being...
